For some reason this one was still in my GPS.....of course the cache was gone, gone
This one lasted longer than we thought it would but it seems it's now gone. Be a while till we get back to Te Aroha so best to archive it.
Oh, the first sad DNF smilie. There is nothing at the place suggested in the hint. The tree has has some limbs removed recently. Perhaps the cache was taken as part of the clean-up, or maybe we just didn't look long and hard enough.
After a hike up to the Te Aroha summit and back again today, I decided to pick up a few more caches around town, while the rest of the hiking group went and relaxed in the hot pools! A quick find of the cache under a pile of trash! Just kidding, it was leaf litter . TFTC!
Reborn! Ah. That is why we thought we had been here before and DNFd. Found it quickly this time. It was uncovered and very open to view. Signed the log and tossed a bit of litter over it, to help preserve it.
Thanks Geckoh.
Thanks Geckoh.
Found right on dusk - lovely gardens & nice little stream nearby too. Logsheet is full. TFTC!
We stopped here to have some lunch so i quickly ran off and found the cache in seconds TFTC
Found with a friend. Had been moved away a bit but we returned to correct place.
Funnily there were two containers I think had separated.
One had fallen away somewhat from the first..
Have put them back together

After a sneaky visit into HRT country last weekend with Gap (of Fap and Gap), I was keen to have another hunt in the area. Two kids and the dog were aboard and we were going great, until the gps died on us (faulty)...
This was our first find. The cache container was missing and the log was sitting out in the open in its plastic bag. We had a spare Eclipse tin in the car, so this is now housing the log. TFTC.

Not been much caching of late but was persuaded to join a few stalwarts today on a mission to clear a few more caches up Mt Te Aroha. Stopped for a quick park'n'grab & a nice easy find - phew! TFTFC
In the area on a very blustery day. Found a bit exposed. Tftc

After not finding the memorial cache I came to this one. It was a much easier find. 751am.
A nice quick find here with alpenmilch80 after completing the Hauraki Rail Trail from Waihi to Kopu. Heading to Te Aroha for the night so stopped in and made the find. TFTC!
A quick find with slieschke after riding from Waihi to Kopu today on the rail trail, and now hanging about in Te Aroha waiting for the end of day 1 event. TFTC
Staying in town before cycling the rail trail over next 2 days.
Had run into PageNZ at previous cache, I was heading north and she south.
Unfortunately it was almost dark so I didn't look around. TFTC

Found originally as part of rebel98 team, now created own account, re-logging as rustynz
See rebel98 log below. Looked at the nearby stream, love how geocaching makes you stop and just enjoy. Thanks again for the hide.

Stopped to smell the roses and look at the nearby river. Exploring Te Aroha after staying overnight, lots of groups of cyclists riding by. We are in the car today, time to travel home, holidays over. Thanks for bringing us here, its normally a drive by, not today
Another after dinner walk and another after dinner quick find. Thanks for the hide
Thanks for setting this one up. I tried to recover it better than I found it.
Stopped by on the way to Paeroa, Punga was onto it very quickly, before we'd even got the GPS into action! Gardens are looking nice with roses in bloom. TFTC.
We were caching with our phones today and boy was it inaccurate here. The good clue and some common caching sense ensured I made a quick find. We dropped of a TB as we expect this cache will get a lot more visitors in the coming weeks with people heading towards the east coast for the summer with many passing through here. TFTC
After cycling a few kms on the rail trail, we thought we'd find a couple of caches before heading back home. Mr 2NK made a quick find whilst the missus stopped to smell the roses which were in full bloom. Nice little spot, and what a quaint place to visit Te Aroha is. TFTC!
#6489. Having found 101, we were Hamilton bound. Just wanted to get a Te Aroha cache on the way through. Nice gardens. TFTC.
We couldn't drive through Te Aroha without finding a cache, and this was the obvious choice, being a drive by. Nice gardens. TFTC.
The roses were just starting to flower. A quick park and grab for us on the way home after a weekend away in the caravan. TFTC
Nice quick drive by on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Heading through to Waiorongomai for a bit of a walk around and to grab a few caches. TFTCSL.
Nice quick find this morning after having yummy breakfast at Ironique, on our way to Morrinsville to visit whanau
We're out today to build up our numbers towards our end of year goal of 1000. This is our 10th today (one DNF) and it is time for lunch. A great picnic table here to set up the cooker and lovely surroundings. Steed does his thing (cooking) while I retrieve the cache. Voices close by, but it is just a family down in the stream playing with their dalmatian who is loving the water.
Heading in to the Te Aroha Youth Hostel to stay the night and remembered wandering down to the gardens the last time we stayed there, so couldn't resist revisiting to retrieve the reborn cache to reinstate our smiley (really !). Gardens very fragrant in the early evening. Thanks for the cache.
A nice easy find in a lovely spot. No pen or pencil in cache so couldn't sign the log. Left 3 little treasures behind. TFTC
A nice quick grab this was with the cache still well disguised, SL, TNLN, TFTC & greetings from Aussie cachers
Enjoyed our stop here with a lovely view over the stream. It was a sunny day and the birds were singing. TFTC
2.05pm. Found the earlier cache here. Good to be back for the new one. A quick and easier find this time.
Thank you. David and Noeline

A quick stop and grab. We hope to come back this way to explore the ranges. We saw what looks like a very big waterfall and we heard there is a wwii battery somewhere nearby. SWAG in and took out an army man which is very fitting for this journey as we have been to the military base in Waiouru visiting family.

Decided we needed to get some more caches today after our late night excursion. Plan was decided and so here we start, making our way toward Mercer, then out to the Hauraki Rd. Hopefully the weather holds out a bit. Apparently Mr. Army man (inside the cache) told me to shut up because.I was being smart. Hmmm.
#29 for the day.

Had to drop a rugrat off at Morrinsville this afternoon so extended the trip to pick up a few caches.
Many thanks

There's one thing about wet weather that suits caching, and that's "No Muggles". (I can't think of anything else). I had every rose to myself and I promise not one of them was picked. Spotted the hiding place quickly so I didn't arouse attention from the ducks nearby. TFTC

Didn't have much time to look for caches around town and this looked like a nice easy one. It was. Thanks Geckoh.

I can hear water flowing below me as I log this cache in this little town that time forgot. Storm clouds gather about the towering verdant mountains before me, but I sit in the bright rays of the lowering sun. Like the town and the small bungalows along this street, the rose garden looks like it is well-loved.

Quick find with our nieces. Retrieved TB 'Unite for Diabetes' then headed back to car for a delicious white chocolate and berry muffin. Thanks.
