Pulled up in the shade near GZ and while I finished getting ready SirFancy and the geo-twins started the hunt.Found the large and made sure to keep clear of it and hunted through all the nooks and crannies and was just about to leave empty handed when SirFancy came up with the cache that blends in well with its surroundings. For International Earthcache Day, I put out a call to see who from the MICKS crew might want to go on an adventure to a qualifying cache and got a positive response from SirFancy.Together with the geo-kids (MrZ, MrT, & MrB), we arranged to leave home in the morning with a couple of options down Collie way as our main targets. We supplemented the list with other caches and adventure labs nearby. We broke the trip to Collie with a pitstop in Pinjarra for supplies and a cache find in Brunswick Junction before heading up the hill. After collecting the required Earthcache on the way up, we made our way to Lake Kepwari for a pleasant walk, completing the series of caches available.Back in town, we stopped for lunch and let the kids burn off some energy before finishing up the adventure lab we had started and then headed straight home.At the end of a longer-than-expected day, I managed to collect 9 finds, 5 adventure labs, and 1 DNF. Thanks go to Keego_and_Chil for placing and maintaining the Traditional cache K & C - 139 Roeland's Whim for me and others to find.I added my name to the log at 11:11 on 13/10/2024.This is find number 9424 for me.

Spent a fair bit of time looking around GPS was very off track to start with. Took quite a while to settle on what works think is the obvious spot. I thought I had found the cleverest, sneakiest spot for the hide to be, but nope! Not there! So bummed to have to give up on it Maybe one day well be back here to try again.

Day 3 of WAGB22 week, travelled down to Bunbury with muggle geo-son, didn’t stop for any caches along the way as we had a later departure than anticipated.
Hit Burekup, Roelands, Dardanup and Donnybrook areas before heading back to Bunbury in the dark.
Messages popped up FTF were up for grabs. Managed 38 finds, 5 FTF’s and 2 DNF’s.

Searched for a little while, then noticed something in the grass covered with leaves, appears the magnets and log book don’t agree.

Thanks to the CO for their hides. Sorry about the generic log.

Very nice hide here, blends in well. Log was missing so have replaced with a nice big sheet of paper in a bag. TFTC lovely spot

20-Jan-22
Have found the cache down the road it a logical progression to tackle this one next. Id not known what these are called. As soon as I saw all that metal I had visions of a lengthy search, not desirable on a super hot day as is today.
But, I found the cache a lot quicker than I expected. Bonus!
Then as I was thinking about photographing the device a train came along. Double-bonus!

20-Jan-22
The log is ever so full and could do with a fresh log.

Hi there Keego_and_Chil.

We found your cache **"K & C - 139 Roeland's Whim"** at 11:23:00 AM today. This was our 23rd cache find today & this one brings our total find count to 15272.

Today's cache run started off by Ian nominating a cache some distance away from our camp site. Then we took a route that was mostly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. (Which turned out to be a series - very sneaky choice Ian).

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the area & ended up finding quite a variety of container types, and sizes hidden along our route, some were where we thought they were, and some we had to search around for a little while. At the end of the day we found 26 caches today & DNF'd 2. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.

We awarded this cache a favourite point for the ingenious construction.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** Container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards
Ian & Penny.

A good excuse to take a relaxed detour from the highway here Big Grin
And by the Jinker, I set to finding me a cache Razz
Except that I couldn't Red Face

There are only so many places to hide a cache on this thingy !! [:(!]
And here's me thinking a micro on a Leopard Tank was hard 'nuff to find [:o]

So after 10 minutes I was at a loss as to where this cache was Sad

Butt !! Yeah like a tree butt !! Something was bugging me Razz
Something that just didn't look right with this bit of bog standard, backyard engineering Big Grin
With such a detailed search of this thingy done, and a good understanding of the engineering, what was that bit for ??

Oh !! It hides a cache Red Face

Well there yer go !!
Don't trust cachers who place caches on a whim Wink

After a massive week of caching, I still came up short of my target of 300 caches for the month. I decided to duck out today and hopefully grab the 60 odd remaining caches before returning to the Pilbara and work later on in the week. Found it in the first place I looked. A fave point here for the container. TFTC Keego_and_Chil
