Last section of the rail trail, today started off with my son in completing this part of the rail trail and it was a good day with finding all but 2 caches. This was the first find of the day sneaky little hide. TFTC
#2123 (approx) Geo-son had most of the caches on this rail trail in 2016 but this one was missed on that particular occasion. Passing by today, thought it would be a good opportunity to grab it. Wasn't exactly a quick grab!. Probably looked for almost 10 mins before I looked at previous logs. I had in my mind that one of the logs had a particular clue, but in hindsight that must have been for a different cache I was looking at. Doh! Anyway I found a clue in a previous log and in no time I had the cache in hand. TNLNSL. The log was ever so slightly damp but still easy to write on. TFTC Flying Platypus.
Found on a Rail Trail return ride from Moolap to a cache 3.5km from Drysdale. This led to 38 caches over 36km or so, I’m very tired but it was well worth it. This one took longer than I should’ve to find this one, I personally found my coords a bit out. Awesome hide though, I love this style. Cool that the old rail lines are here for people to see too. TFTC!
Great little hide! This was our second attempt at this one, after finding a cache my the same hider a few days before, we were wised up to look for something a bit out of the ordinary. Thanks!
Very sneaky hiding spot
I was about to give up and then I tripped over an found it

End of the line for me today. Great cache location. Now the long walk back. Really enjoyed finding your caches along the trail today. Thanks for your effort in placing them.
Not gonna lie. Our second visit here, first time we were running out of sunlight and it looked like rain was coming so we cut out visit short. This time I had a feeling where it might be. Looked. Shat me self as an aggro spider came at me. Said stuff it he can have the cache. Luckily, we found it not long after a little away from Mr Angry and was able to make the grab and sign the log!
Found with teamashy while walking some of the trail. Signed log and returned as found. TFTC
Out on an evening walk with thomo31 and the geo daughter, located after a quick search. TFTC
Accompanied with silence49, lance51 and DeafVW. We hire the e bike for G2Q Rail trail for the day. We had a great time finding your cache Flying Platypus, thank you so much for placing it.
While staying near the Geelong area we thought we would pick up a few more of the scattered caches as well as a small section of the G2Q rail trail. Not too much planned for another hot day of caching with ilook4geo.
The co-ords are very good for this series so the well hidden cache was quickly in hand and both names were soon on the log. Thanks for this cache go to Flying Platypus.

Out caching with goingplaces2 on a rather hot day, so we took it fairly easy. This was one of the caches we found, thankfully in between passing muggle traffic. Found the well container. TFTC.
2nd day of riding and caching along the rail trail with Jascat.. Today the ride was from Leopold to Drysdale. TFTC
*16 Jan 2022, Found @12:20 pm, Find # 3726.*
Day 2 on the rail trail with mazza-g. A cracker of a day to be on the bike as we make our way from Leopold to Drysdale. My eye was immediately drawn to this one as I had seen this type of hide a few times before.
**Thanks to Flying Platypus for placing this cache.**

Out and about to collect a few smiley faces to help reach my goal before the mega!! This was a sneaky little hide, FP coming your way
Needs maintenance Down in Geelong visiting my daughter for the first time in months. With so many caches around, I decided to hit some caches while my daughter and missus has some beauty treatment.
After crossing the busy highway, and finally moving away from it, I quickly came upon this next hide. Looking around the GZ, I was wondering where to start. Lots of interesting spots until coming across the interesting hide. Opened up the log and completed duties. Log is a bit damaged, and could do with a little TLC.

Our plan this afternoon was to load up the bikes, drive out to the driving range near Curlew Station, and set off back to Geelong to fill in the smilie line by grabbing all the caches back to where we had previously stopped. We figure by travelling in the opposite direction this time we would have the wind at our back as we rode back to the car.
This plan worked so well that when we got back to the driving range car park where we had left the car we continued on to Drysdale and found a lot more caches than we had planned for. A great plan made even better by the extra finds.
We are enjoying ourselves in Geelong so much we have extended our stay for a few more days and are hoping that will give us many more funds. Having survived the wind, rain and cold we are looking forward to better weather as well.
TFTC and a big thank you to all the CO’s who have put out caches along this great rail trail

We are slowly adding smileys all along the Bellarine Rail trail, and this section was bereft of smileys until today. The coordinates were excellent and when arriving at GZ there were no obvious places, so we suspected this may be similar to a couple of other hides we have seen, and we were correct. Extraction required us to head back to the geomobile for a TOTT and we soon had the log book signed and back in its clever hiding spot. We look forward to walking this section of the Bellarine Rail Trail soon and adding some more smileys. Thank you for this cache Flying Platypus.

My last dnf here got the better of me. I had to have another crack. I couldn’t believe that last time here I had actually touched it without knowing! Doh!
Couldn’t find. Looked for next one and came back for a second try. Realised I was looking straight at it the first time without realising. Easier than I thiught. Made me LOL. TFTC
Reposting my "found" log after my app sync failed. I remember this one got a favorite! TFTH
Today we set off on our bikes with the hope the geokids would get a few finds in before their little legs wore out. All in all they did a great job and managed just over 13kms in total.
We enjoyed the ride, even though it was a very busy Sunday, maybe a week day may be a better caching day? We had a very jumpy GPS, thinking the power-lines might be playing havoc, after a while we tried geosense over GPS.
We have seen a few of these hides however sometimes they just don't seem to stand out? Or certainly not before a hunt around for a more well used hide type. C1 had this in hand as the rest of us were on the wrong track.

Since the day we had booked the air tickets for our current geocaching holiday to Australia we had been looking forward to hiking and geocaching the Bellarine Rail Trail. We had arrived in the area two nights ago and so yesterday morning we had parked up in Drysdale and hiked to Queenscliffe then taken a taxi back to Drysdale at the end of the day. Today we once again left our hired cache-mobile in Drysdale and then took a taxi to Geelong - we then hiked back to Drysdale to complete the trail. Once again we throughly enjoyed the hike in some truly lovely Australian weather and of course we also found many geocaches, and so many thanks to the COs for having provided us with the opportunity to have enjoyed yet another great day out geocaching! We soon located this very nicely hidden cache once at Ground Zero. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cleverly hidden cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
A quick park and walk for 100 metres from the golf club (over a wire fence). It was an easy find having seen this type of hide before. My 200th find in the Geelong LGA. tftc
ONOIZ84 and Torbox55 found this tricky cache today. Log is pretty full.
Thanks for the hide

Ventured out here with sims_family after an earlier First to find so he could tick off his streak find seeing the witching hour was upon us. A clever hide quickly spotted by torchlight in the dark.
Thanks Flying Platypus for placing this Micro Traditional - this is find 1141 for BFMC

We were out chasing a nearby first to find with AusFox; and BFMC. That mission was completed successfully before midnight and by the time we grabbed a couple more caches in the immediate area that BFMC needed midnight had struck so I thought I might as well tick of my streak find for the day as well. This was the closest unfound cache for me so off we headed. AusFox; headed home though as he had already made this one a smiley. BFMC though was also keen to find it with me.
This is an oldie but a goodie when it comes to hides but probably when it was published it was one of the earlier versions of this hide Still it is very well done. Even though we have found many of this type now.
Thanks for the hide Flying Platypus

I decided that I needed a walk, and thought that coming down to the G2Q trail would be a perfect excuse for one. After picking up a number of targets prior to hitting the trail I could now simply walk and hoover up the trads as I went. Along the way I came across 3 muggles not counting the labourers on the other side of the trail constructing the latest estate down the Peninsula. I guess the sea changers need to be placed somewhere. Certainly Council is aware of the increasing population as it streamlines the various roads in the area through sporadic roadworks. I guess the question that will need to be asked in a short period of time thereafter is what happens when these people age out of being able to drive reliably? I'm envisioning a few road crashes of varying degrees of consequence.
Enough of the doom and gloom though, all caches were found quickly and easily although a couple do need replacement logs given they are completely waterlogged.

This log is to tidy up a mess I made with GSAK . I forgot to apply the template so my finds were published with a nonsensical log.
Rather than try and edit all the logs I post this not with what the log should have been.
My apologies for the confusion caused.
A few days away with Freddo, e.gregory1 and The White Dog Gang.
Fun was had by all. Not too many dnfs
Most logs signed as FETT.
Thanks for all the caches.

Cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked.
Found on a short, post-Christmas sojourn to Victoria with Freddo, Team Waldron and thewhitedoggang that involved plenty of driving, cycling, walking and even some boating and wading.
The weather was on our side (albeit a little warm at times), which made for some great caching. There were plenty of varied finds, with some excellent and often tricky hides and and just a few DNFs. We signed most logbooks ‘F.E.T.T.’
Thanks Flying Platypus for the cache.

We are spending a few days on the Bellarine peninsular before the Christmas crowd arrives and today are riding the trail from Drysdale to Geelong and back so I have the opportunity to grab a few caches on the way and back. Thanks Flying Platypus for a string of caches along a lovely trail.
Was staying in Geelong for the weekend to catch up with family and attend the few Christmas events tomorrow. Having my bike with me, gave me a great opportunity to go for a ride along this nice little bike trail. The scenery along the way was spectacular and the ride was most enjoyable. As it was going to be 40 degrees today, I was up very early but it was already very warm. While I had 1 DNF's, I made some good discoveries and clever hides along the way.
This was the first for the morning and I was happy to make a quick disovery, of what could have taken a while otherwise.
Thanks Flying Platypus for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

#2133 To repeat my log in the last cache of yours we found ... Down this way to reunite 2 women who've been friends for 90 yrs, yes, 90 yrs. To leave them alone for a while my wife & I head off to pick up a few caches. We really appreciate the thought, work & effort that goes into caches different to the norm - and this is certainly one of them. Well done Flying Platypus.
Just when we were about to give up and the kids had lost interest, our oldest member came through with the find. Spark for coaching has been restored. No pen sorry but have proof.
After a bit of wandering round we finally spotted this cache. Thanks ffor bringing us here.
Anther with GeoGran & Georgroms. Great day for a ride along the rail trail from the car park to the Golf club. Another cleaver one. TFTC SL although it was full on both sides.
What awesome camo! I've not seen that before. Another cache style to look out for. Thanks
A bit cold and wintery today, but having fun between the storms. Loved this cache. Our first of this kind. Very sneaky
