We are on our long-awaited journey around the world in 99 days. Second try after canceling in 2020.
Our fourth stop after Los Angeles, Hawaii and New Zealand is Australia.

This time was of course used to find some geocaches here.
Today we were searching for the Traditional **Gary's Gun #6**

Thank to the Hint and the good coordinates the little box was found quickly!
After signing the logbook there is a new smile on our geocaching map!

At least we would like to take this opportunity to thank Aussie Liahona for creating and maintaining this Traditional.

Visiting from New Zealand for a family gathering in Byron Bay. Today we were heading up to Brunswick Heads but decided to take the scenic route. This series was a nice way to start. The specific hints avoided us having to be too exposed to the worrying Australian fauna and flora! Quick find, all OK . Thanks Aussie Liahona for the smiley

The lads hit the road for a bit of a mini roadtrip today, winding our way out through to Bangalow and on to Lismore while my wife went shopping in Byron. We managed 30 finds, including 10 of the GCA variety, and had a pretty great time of it.
We tackled the Gary's Gun trail first, a nice little collection of hides, with helpful hints (thanks!).
We found both containers here, the original and the throwdown - we removed the throwdown to save confusion.... TFTC!

Found on an morning drive with my Dad and little Brother, had a really nice time visiting the more inland areas around Byron Bay today!!

Found at 10:11 AM GAFF3.
We had to negotiate some road works on this rough road which is being widened and smoothed out and consequently missed No. 5 which was in the road work area. Even with this one we stopped before the road controller at the other end to get the cache - when we eventually passed she must have wondered what we were doing I am sure
We understood the "Gun" part of the cache name straight away, but it took a while to dawn on us what the Gary's part meant - nice one Kay

With our basecamp at the Alstonville showgrounds we headed off towards the coast to get some caches. The wall walk and the lighthouse beach walk at Ballina were wonderful but given the great selection of hides and locations we were kept entertained all day. This was one of the caches we targetted and found. Thankyou Aussie Liahona for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area

Came to check on this one today and decided to change the cache from a decon container that leaks (I don't have any luck with those) to a 200ml sistema. Look down not up. New container, new log.

We are to early to get the keys for the cabin on the campground. housekeeping is still working. We decided to make this trail during this time and it was worth it:) There is a spot where u have a amazing view over Byron Bay - i love it. TFTC and maintenance the trail

Was time for the LONGGGG drive home, and Geocaching along the way just makes it that much longer. Normally from the GC to CBR is a 12 hour drive, well I did it in just over 21hrs.....

I targeted a number of Earthcaches along the way, and did a loop in Byron Bay. The weather was not so pleasent today however it was worth it. Seen some lovely scenery and even drove the Tweed Coast.

Left Gold Coast at 7am Tuesday morning and got home to Canaberra just after 5am, long day/night.

Continuing on my loop and it was off to the Gary's Gun series of caches. Turns out, im doing my loop backwards as I started at 7 and ended at 1 haha oopsies, agh well, all good

TFTC. I'm backdating a series of 10 caches I found and logged with tropicalexplorer285 last year in the glorious Byron Bay hinterland, but that I haven't logged on the site yet. The weather was starting to come in pretty hard by the time we got to number 6 in the series, but we pushed on!
