Thanks for hiding this cache drawp I appreciate it. Hopefully I will finish some more of this neat series over the next couple of days.
On the road with NZ_B, graciesGPSfun and Nosynel. Good to sign another Mighty Oak. I love that soldiers have been remembered this way. Thanks for the cache, drawp.

I started logging these caches way back in 2017 when I attended the Geofest in Oamaru. Good to add another to my found list.
In Canterbury for a 25th wedding anniversary and am caching with GraciesGPSfun as well.
Kia ora rawa atu for the cache drawp.

Now that rain has stopped I can do my next 50 in a day challenge for the DGSc. . This is number 16.
Going down to stay at my son's place in Oamaru. Left home early to do a few caches on the way. TFTC
After a stunning 4x4 trip along Otekaieke river with our club. We were meeting in Kurow to leave for next bit after lunch. We stopped on this road for the caches on way. Thanks for this cache at mighty Oak drawp.
There was a mountain bike leaning against the back of the tree. Cache was found without a problem. Another in the series. Thanks.
I discovered at #36 that I had overlooked this one so backtracked a bit to come and tick it off and grab the numbers so I could complete this group of the series today. TFTC # 15,570
Decided to make a trip to Duntroon over the Dansey Pass. Lots of logs to find and sign and this one was one of them. Day and it begins again. TFTC
This road has more than its fair share of caches. I don't know what the guy on the tractor thought I was doing, but I tried to be inconspicuous. Fabulous tree.
Found with StreetWalker on day 2 of our Queens Birthday weekend, on a most enjoyable Waimate - Kurow - Waimate round trip. It turned out to be a good choice to head inland as the weather was fine (though cold!) until we reached the coast on the last stage of our journey.
Worth the detour for a Mighty Oak and several other caches . Info gathered, hope I don't lose my notebook. TFTC.

After a lovely weekend in Omarama for a caching/tramping weekend with BCD it was time to head home. A quick lunch stop in Kurow and off we go again. Always enjoy finding these Mighty Oaks caches and appreciate the time and effort the CO has put into them all. TFTC
Out caching today with purdiepurdie, fitting in some CCC before the Geo-Fest.
Finding the complete series of these Memorial Oaks has been an ambition of mine for some years; we had done a batch between Weston and Livingstone & now decided to head out towards Kurow.
Pleased to find and log #35; thanks for this and your many other caches, drawp.

Down with kotukuSI to attend the Oamaru GeoFest. We had a plan to hunt down a few Mighty Oaks today. Such a fantastic reason to place a trail of caches. We managed to get quite a few Oaks today and will complete the balance over the weekend.
Thank goodness we still managed to CCC - Coffee (at Kurow), chat most of the way and cache a goodly number.
It was fortuitous to meet drawp at our second Mighty Oak and could thank him in person for placing this cool trail.

Found on way to geo event in omarau, on a geo road trip with RowenaD and flipnz.
Found it good hiding spot. I replaced the log as it was wet but dried it out and put it back with the other log. Tftc
We arrived in Oamaru last night with the intention of finding as many of our solved puzzles as we could in the couple of days we had here. Today's target was the Mighty Oaks series, and I do not think we truly understood the distances we would be needing to cover to pick these all up. We had found just a handful of these (3?) a few years ago on a fleeting one day trip from Rakaia to Moeraki and back, and were keen to complete this series.
Most of the caches were easy finds with the hints, and at each one we carefully worked out and recorded the numbers for the Bonus caches, which were our main targets. Thanks for setting up this series. These Mighty Oaks make great memorials for so many local fallen soldiers. We appreciate the way we needed to take note of (and therefore pay our respects to) each soldier's individual name and details as a means to getting the numbers for the puzzle caches.

Great to collect a few of these today; let's see where I get up to with the numbers... TFTC!!!
I convinced Sunroller to accompany me on a tour of the caches around Duntroon, Earthquakes and other parts on the way to Kurow. We had a ball.
Cheers for the cache.

Headed down south with C&D and 11HPG11 for the CHCH Mega as part of the HOAC team, and decided that a Mega road trip/Mega Mission was the right thing to do. After a great day caching from Dunedin to Omarama we manged to get a few hours sleep before the big day 2 started.
Day 2 was the start of a ambitious plan to try and find as many caches as possible in one day! To maximise our chances of a big number we decided a 24 hour caching day was the only way to go. What an epic day, and some great moments too. The rough idea was to cache from Omarama to Oamaru, and then head north towards Christchurch. A huge thanks to everyone for the cache placments, and I apologise for the copy and past logs.
Find #67 for the day.

This was the start of a MEGA caching weekend in the company of good caching friends. In the company of both HKCB & 11HPG11 this was going to be another memorable caching road trip for many reasons.
This is the mission that we had set ourselves up for several months back. It was HKCB's idea, I was just dumb enough to think it was a challenge and I'd be up for it, 11HPG11 was silly enough to come along for the ride once we confirmed a spare seat (Nova Lightening pulled out for family reasons).
We were going to try to beat the NZ one day record in New Zealand (it would have been easier with 4 people), so after 2.5hrs sleep after a good feed at Omarama we were ready to go. This was the sixty sixth on what was to be an epic day with what amounted to 401 caches collected for the day and about 38 DNF's. We managed this with 10minutes to spare but by this time we were done for and still had to drive back to Kaiapoi. All in all an epic days caching with good friends and something I don't think any of us will repeat in a hurry.
All in all it was going to be a big day with a number of challenges, great sceanery, and of course great company. Fantastic driving along and up here as the landscape was so different from what we are used to back in the Waikato. One good thing about backroads being that we could continue our neferious activites without being disturbed by muggles.
Nice quick find here without any issues .
thanks for the placement , thanks for the cache

What a Mega Mission for a group of Hamilton Over Achievers! A great trip, a long time in the planning. I teamed up with Cats&Dragons and HKCB to grab a couple of caches while in Christchurch and surrounding areas for the 2015 Mega Event. We flew out from Auckland on Friday night and traveled to Dunedin in the dark of the night. Stopped for a few hours sleep before setting off to grab caches in the Otago area on Saturday before attempting a few more on Sunday and then arriving at the Mega on the Monday. An amazing, yet crazy road trip
When C&D mentioned a day with over 400 caches I should have turned and ran... instead I said yes, and here we are. 401 caches in 23 hours and 50 minutes. All done on about 2.5hr of sleep. It was hard work with only 3 of us and there were times that were hard and tiring but I still had a blast! An amazing experience that one has to be slightly crazy to even consider
No problems on this one, thanks for the placement. Easy to search here in the dark!

Another great find while slowly heading to the Christchurch Mega.
Thanks for adding to the fun of my trip.

This cache was one of 350 found on a short trip back to New Zealand, which was principally organised so that I could attend my Great Grandmother's 100th birthday.
I have a great time and enjoyed a great variety of caches, most of which were new (ie published in the past couple of years ).
Thanks for all the great caches.

This cache was one of approx. 350 found on a 5 day road trip with Moneydork who was on a brief visit to New Zealand.
We enjoyed a variety of caches in an area that stretched between Christchurch Dunedin and Pukaki.
Bitsprayer was with us today.
Thanks to the many people who have hidden and maintained the caches.

Last summer the idea was born to visit [Green]'New Zealand'[/Green], together with [url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url]
After some important decisions regarding the beginning of our trip, the flights, the general route and the car were made, the most important question was still unanswered: which caches can we visit during our tour [?]
To get an answer for this topic I was fetching almost every cache from both islands [8)][:X]
[url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url] and I love [Teal]'Geo-Arts'[/Teal]...so we added all these cache series to our wish list
After this decision was made this list was more than 300 puzzle caches long...unsolved puzzle caches
Two weeks before Christmas it was getting time to start solving all these mystery caches
Even with the different language I could find almost every solution
In the case I was not so successful I was contacting some of the CO's...and was always getting help from them...many thanks for this support [:X]
During the following weeks our cache list was growing and growing...meanwhile more than 1000 caches long...too long for a simple bookmark list from GC
Time to get our route and caches in sync...time to save the PQ's to our Garmins...time to start this holiday:
Chapter 5: [green]Twizel[/green] to [red]Oamaru[/red]
After a stormy and rainy previous day, the rain had stopped this morning
Therefore we could search for some caches during our drive...and this time without our ponchos
This cache of a wonderful cache series, with a terrific story, was one of them
For us it was often not so easy to find a place for the car, but with the given hint it was almost easy to find the cache
I would like to thank [Navy]'drawp'[/Navy] for showing us these historical oaks and maintaining this brilliant cache series,

Together with [url=http://coord.info/PR3BC8B][red]'Dev46'[/navy][/url][/red] I was on a 'sightseeing-tour' through lovely [Green]'New Zealand'[/Green]
During our great time we could see a lot of beautiful places and we also could find 'some' caches in the area...this was one them [:X]
Many thanks to all CO's for all these nice caches

Found as part of a great day in and around Oamaru. Still reckon this is the best caching area I have ever encountered. Original standard set by Bitsprayer, but now a few others adding to the story. Many thanks to all!
13368… Enjoying our drive through the countryside, a few pivot irrigators about, TFTC.
A quick find on our family trip from Wanaka to Oamaru.

Did some more of this series today. Looking forward to the rest of them. TFTC
We wondered what the people opposite this one think about the popularity of 'their' oak tree. TFTC
Nothing exciting or notable happened here, but I do appreciate collecting the Smiley.
Thanks for placing this cache!

A quick easy find at another Mighty Oak, this one with a large branch broken off. TFTC
Out on my first all day caching, Dunedin to Kurow and return how many can I get? Number 36. #178
A quick grab on the way home from Kurow market day. We'll be back for the others later!
I had to look at the info on this one twice just to make sure I had read it right. TFTC
I was surprised when I saw where this soldier had died, you learn all the time thanks to finds like this.
Thanks
