Quick find. Both containers dry, log dry. No pen so couldn't sign sorry. TFTC
With the CO no longer active I took it upon myself to replace the container when passing Is now a waterproof log inside a pill container inside a marmite jar so so should be good for a while.
Possibly the coolest cache holder albeit a little nonfunctional:). Same as noted by others, cache is now a permanent part of the tree and provides a nice bath for any passing woodland creatures. But no logbook! Lid no longer fits on cache.
#621As previous loggers have commented, the tree was warped the geocache. Not seen anything quite like it ! The lid has popped off and the logbook has disappeared. When I commented on the cache being a bit sad looking, one of my companions responded: "Climie a river!"
Roots have grown through and squashed the cache. Find possible but can't seal the lid
Tree seems to have landed and warped on the cache so can't get it out (except for the lod). Very waterlogged and no log book.
No log to sign as others have mentioned. But it's certainly the right spot we found
Wow - this is pretty impressive! The tree has grown around the cache and deformed it. The lid had popped off and cannot be reinstated so the cache is full to the brim with water. It could use a replacement. Photo log attached.
Yay! it's a lot cooler up here! I'm not sweating so much. It's over 30 degrees down at the bottom of the hill! Guy came past - cycling uphill, on a e-bike. Making good time too.
With my weekend plans cancelled I turned back to this - the climb up Climie. The weather report was okay (but was actually worse). A lot of DNFs on the first half of the trip up, but found every thing bar one on the trip across. And what a narly trip that bit was. Mostly no track, continuously losing and bashing through the bush to refind it. Strong winds and heavy cloud - ie thoroughly wet by the time I got off the hill.

Found- but I too couldn’t get the container out. Full of water. Will log maintenance once back home
Found it, but couldn’t get the container out, so have attached a photo of the container. Container was also full of stagnant water. See Pahia321’s log for details. TFTC!
Found cache but jammed in place and full of very unpleasant stagnant water which I could get out. Couldn’t find the log in there but took a photo of the floating card. Could do with replacement cache and log for whoever comes up this way next, sorry we don’t have anything suitable with us!
This cache was an easy find, but was full of water. The cache is also jammed in place (possibly been grown around) making it hard to dry out. It also meant I was unable to get the lid fully clipped back on, so may need some maintenance. Thanks to MamaHoof before me who added a waterproof log.
I came to Tunnel Gully to climb Mt Climie and hunt for some caches. It was my first time up Mt Climie and I had a very successful but tiring day! A quick find, but as the previous cacher noted the container is well wedged in and hard to seal properly and everything was soaking wet. I've added a small strip of waterproof paper as the log book was unsignable. TFTC
Found this well wedges cache . Couldn’t fully remove it and log soaked . Not sure if lid/clips are intact but placed back and ricks on top as found. Thanks
Found on a really good day, we started at a meer minus two degree's ad once we arrived on the tops there was very little wind a slight breeze .
Thanks for the placement and the smiley

As I am up here with Watcache today after a frosty start but a great day especially the views up the top

Found fairly quickly once we picked the right tree. Cache was a bit damp. Tftc.
Today I had been invited along to meet up with some fellow Cachers to try to do the Mt Climie trail in Upper Hutt. I had a certain amount of trepidation, as it was supposed to be a fairly decent climb to the summit, and we were not sure whether we would be able to complete it due to both time constraints and the fact that we had Gale Force winds forecast for the afternoon!
So as a group of 4 adults and 2 dogs, off we set. As it turned out, whilst the gale was certainly doing it's best to blow the trees over, the trees were providing us with great cover so that we hardly felt a thing for most of the climb.
Only when we were exposed to the elements, at the higher points of the track, did we have some fun and games with the wind!
This was my 300th Cache! The GPS coordinates were spot on, taking me to exactly where the tree was. A brief search was all it took to find the cache, after which it was a quick sign of the log, replaced as found, and then back to the upwards slog towards the next cache. I have given a Favourite Point in recognition of it being my 300th find.
Having just placed my first Cache this week, I have an even greater appreciation of what is required to put caches out in the field for all of us to find, and once placed maintain them. So a huge thanks from me for your efforts in placing this one.

TFTC! We must be mad to consider heading up here with gales forecast, but it was a time that we all could make, so up here the 6 of us (4 people, 2 dogs) came. Fortunately, the forecast rain mostly held off, and the trees provided shelter from the worst of the 'gentle breezes' (Yeah right). TFTC!
glad to be back up here to hunt for the rest, enjoyable walk/slog to get to the top, thanks for the placement, track pretty quite again but not a bad thing for us
Quick find on way down hill Log is a bit damp and bag has condensation in it Weather not suitable to let it dry TFTC
Going for a walk up Mt Climie today. The walk up was relentless but a good track. Worst part was the heat today at 31 degrees and no breeze or cover at the time. This was a quick find. Everything in order. TFTC

My 2017 birthday geocaching adventure! 8.5 hours of walking and geocaching, 21 finds, 2 DNFs, one very tired dog, and one exhausted human. Was pretty good haul for one day. Got all the way to 'It Can Be Done!' - didn't have the appetite to go beyond that. Weather was generally pretty good, although quite changeable. Views from the top were stunning. A great day's geocaching!
Straight forward find. TFTC.

Beautiful clematis in this area. Found by Tararua Tramping Club group on geocaching climb up Mt Climie. TFTC.
Tararua Girl had organised a hike up Mt Climie with the Tararua Tramping Club and invited me along as the "geocaching expert" of the group. One of the newbies of the party discovered the cache in its hiding place. Signed and returned. TFTC
A few hours spent collecting caches on Climie. Not too bad a day for it, although cold and windy at the top, and a couple of showers on the way down. I remember that hot Xmas. We headed for the beach, but you climbed a mountain??

The cache was comparatively dry today compared to when trancer96 found it. Nice new log too (thanks trancer96). It could be that that perfect cache sized hole in the tree roots fills up with water when it rains.
This cache was well and truely waterlogged. I didn't even try to sign the provided log but rather added a new one in a new plastic bag. I dried off what I could and put the original log in the new bag and removed the soaking ones. TFTC.
TFTC - Beautiful day and Mt Climie has always been a place I have wanted to go to. Didnt get all the caches I wanted but had an awesome day
Had the day off work, and decided to go for a walk up Mount Climie - both for a bit of fitness, and also to grab a bunch of caches. Fantastic day for the walk. Quick find on the way back down. *TFTC CaligulaNZ #149*
A weekend in Wellington and so a walk with Cache.Mike is on the agenda. This means a walk up a big hill for him and plenty of caches for me so this area was a good choice.
Not too hot or too cold for our walk. We started in just t-shirts but needed a light jacket at the top. A quick find here before continuing onwards and upwards.
Thanks CaligulaNZ for the cache.

A day walk out with Kiwiexplorer and we found plenty of caches, some of them along the way, some after bush bashing or extrem bush bashing - but those were my favourites of the day! Thanks for all the caches [^] Sorry for the copy / paste logs [8)]

A nice easy find on my descent after finding a couple of difficult to get to caches higher up.
I was out of town on the Xmas Day referred to but I remember others telling me what it was like.

Collected as part of a whole lot of caches on the way to Mt Climie on a sunny but slightly nippy winter's day.
I'd forgotten that I had already found this cache, until I approached GZ and glanced at the hint. Oh, yes, last weekend on my way down from visiting Mt Climie 2 and the caches at the far end of the ridge. So today I'll claim a double find. Very calm up here today and quite mild, the calm before the storm apparently as this evenings forecast looks rather gloomy.
TFTC Caligula, much appreciated!

Two days ago I attended the very nice CITO on Mana Island Meeting a lot of lovely People. And I recieved the hint to hike at Mt. Climie. Good idea, here I am! Even the weather wasn't good today (a Little bit rainy) it was a very nice (and easy) hike garnished with a lot of nice Caches. I really enjoyed the day, but near the sumnit bad weather appeared with strong wind and cold rain. So I was quite wet when I was back and I missed the Caches in the outback behind the sumnit, because I don't want to go there without any sight. But that's live, I don't care.
It was a great day and many thanks to every owner for all the nice Caches.

Another find out with eidesor today climbing Mt Climie. Perfect day for it; TFTC!
Hi, TFTC! Got into caching whilst visiting friends in NZ, coming from Norway, and has been great so far
Found with 1Grunta and Broadbridges. We did the whole circuit in 12 hours including almost all the caches and a new push on thru cache down the back. TFTC!
Was windy and very rugged, but the walk was well worth it
On another note - I definitely remember that xmas day, can't believe we were doing geocaching that long ago.

Heading back down, cleaning up the newer caches since our last visit.
Log was rather wet!

Wet !! Unsignable as the inside of the cache was wet and the logbook was so wet it was slimy.
1Grunta has a photo as evidence of our visit together. TFTC !

Down from Auckland staying in Paraparaumu for 4 nights, caching as much as I can here on this mountain and in Wellington and a power trail in Palmerston Nth. This area has been on my list of climbs to do for awhile now.
Sistema was completely filled with water as was the plastic bag. Somehow the paper was still able to be written on, tried briefly to dry out the contents before moving on.

I chose to rest my legs and directed Mr to a likely looking hint object. Bingo! I had sent him directly to the cache which he returned to me to sign. That's my kind of teamwork TFTC!
Cache # 2,697 - a big day out with Crystal Fairy as we climb Mt Climie and beyond. Did this cache along the way. All is well. Noted and remembered the date later on this journey. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Decided to climb Mt Climie today with Wandering Dragons. Was an absolutely beautiful day and quite a slog up the mountain. Views from the top were amazing being able to see as far as the South Island, Kapiti Island and even the Wairarapa along with Magnificent views of Upper Hutt. Most of the caches were easy finds, but some took a little longer as the vegetation has grown quite a bit. Thanks for the cache
Another good chance to catch the breath.
This was the 8th CO encountered so far on the way up the hill.

This would probably be a good way to work off that xmas dinner, but we prefer a lazier xmas day . Keen today though, & having a great day!

#790. Grabbing a few caches on the way back to carpark after spending hours off-track on Mt Climie loop. This one was a fairly quick find once my GPS settled. But I had already raced in and checked several other likely sites first. Nicely placed. Log still in reasonable condition. TFTC
Wasn't too sure what the cache name was referring to but found the cache no problems. TFTC
Found on a march up Mt Climie in preparation for an Abel Tasman trip. Lovely views up here today and not too cold! TFTC!
A quick find with TregearP doing this Power Trail in what started out in fine weather and finished up with a torrential down pour.

ok so it's not xmas day but maybe I will come back up one xmas just for fun or to collect the four at the top I did not get to. thanks for the easy find.

A perfect day to bunk off work and head for the hills in search of little plastic boxes with tmann421.
A nice quick find which is just as well as I think I'll need every ounce of energy to get to the top!
Cache in good order.

Find #2287. A day on Mt Climie with Hurricane Luke, hunting down the latest series of caches. Started out very calm but the wind grew progressively stronger through the day, but not cold. Nice spot for a cache, good excuse to take a breather. SL TFTC
Banged my head replacing this. Slightly damp. How much further to go? Tftc and walk
Walking up Climie with the families. Young legs were starting to weary so when I read the CO's "lower reaches" comment I braced myself for a whole lot of complaining to come. Luckily it eventuated we weren't too far from the big transmitter. Cache was easily located then another huff and puff for metal-art and I to catch up to the others as they disappeared into cloud cover. Unfortunately no views today.
Last find of 17 on a 5 1/2 hour jaunt around the Climie circuit from Tunnel Gully. There are more to find on the track on the way down, but they'll have to wait for another day: it's now 4.30 and I only have about 30 minutes of daylight left. Time to get off the mountain!
Out caching with kiwimudgie on an overcast day. The weather cleared enough for us to appreciate the amazing views offered on the climb to the top.
Thanks for the cache CaligulaNZ

Found with Emvy_us and McTees while on an afternoon walk up the Mt Climie track. TFTC, #6232
An enjoyable walk to Climie today with McTees and Waiiti20. Great views - and some weary crew members at the end! Dropped in TB. TFTC
Up and back in 3 hours this afternoon to collect the four caches that had "popped" up since the last time I was here. I'm fast loosing track of the trips I've made up here in the last year. The walk up never seems to get any easier. I walked up in hot sunshine, and as with the last time I was up here ended up racing a southerly front back to the carpark. Got back just in the nick of time. Cheers and TFTC
Decided to have a crack at my 200th cache today up Climie. Can I manage it so the trig is number 200??? Never been up here before, so we will see how it goes. This one #196
All good here - log dry etc

Interesting trip to do on Christmas Day! Found on our way up Mt Climie. Diggers on the track smoothing out the surfaces. TFTC
#5138. Xmas day 2012 was definitely a scorcher. We spent most of the day in the Wairarapa, and when we got back around 9PM there were heaps of people in the water at Petone beach. Given the hot summer we have had, we decided to wait until autumn before our trip up Mt Climie. Today proved to be an ideal day, where the temperature was just right. TFTC (always good to have places to catch your breath on long climbs).
Nice quick find for StreetWalker.
We picked a great day for our walk up Mt Climie, mostly sunny for great views but it was not too hot as we toiled uphill, not like the day the CO placed this cache! Many thanks to all the cachers who have placed the wealth of caches along the way.

Found during a walk to the top of Mt Climie, good day out. Rained at the top, a must for the region. TFTC
Found on a long and very enjoyable day's loop walk up the road to Mt Climie and back down another ridge to the north. Found the cache in the first place I checked, good accurate coordinates. Signed log, TFTC!
Waitangi Day caching. Nothing better. Bagging caches around Rimutaka Tunnel, Gully and Mt Climie.
Enjoyed a great series of caches of which this was one.
Straightforward find, cache in order, log signed; cache safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!
Retrieved TB, of which there was only one in the cache. Didn't note the diabetes trackable.
