Thanks for this cache at this beautiful place.

Many greetings from Germany, Nariza & Korshi

Der Zeltplatz ist zu empfehlen. Die Hütte war auch direkt am MMeer und sehr schön.

I found this one on my five day 75 km tramp through the Abel Tasman. What a wonderful experience this was and more so with some nice caches on the way! Thank you to all the owners!

anchorage was my first campground and I arrived just in time to find another cache. What a good idea to hide a cache in this busy area. Wasn't too full to search in peace and quiet though.

27-Nov-15
Myself and a few others tramped together as a group from Apple tree bay to Anchorage, where we stayed for 2 nights. This was the first I myself have ever looked or heard about 'geocaches' so I wasnt very good at it first time round, till a staff who'd been helping me had found it then hinted me to where it was, very simple but complicated to find at the same time lol, but was a lovely first experience and I'm greatful my first time finding one was somewhere as beautiful as Abel Tasman [^] -Faith [8)]

27-Nov-15
I arrived at Anchorage with a group of alternate education students (KAPKAP) on Wednesday and we've stayed 2 nights. No find until this morning as I'd done something to my hero on the way in and even the rock scramble was challenging. Sent one of the students in on Wednesday evening, but they didn't have "caching eyes" and didn't spot the hiding place.
Somewhat recovered this morning so made the scramble and soon had the cache in hand.
Had been found earlier today by some Finnish cachers ... Wonder if you were the Finnish couple we'd been talking with of and on over the last couple of days...
Thanks for the cache, and the replacement.
Cool

We flew over 20500 kilometers to get to New Zealand. [^] There in Queenstown we started our magnificent and unforgettable journey along the whole NZ. First we drove through south island and then the north island to Auckland. Altogether over 3000 kilometers by car and so many glorious and beautiful views, animals and plants we saw. [^] Cool We fell in love with the country for life. Unfortunately we had only three weeks to spend for our holidays, but we really hope, we’ll be back. Big Grin

After paddling from Marahau 13 kilometers, which took us a couple of hours and photos from seals and dolphins, we arrived here to overnight in Aquapackers catamaran. Because the weather was fine still, we had good time for some caches after eating some packed lunch. Thanks for the cache and very many greetings from Finland. Big Grin

22-Aug-15
We have had short walks on the Abel Tasman track further north but had never been to this section before. Took a water taxi to the Anchorage and explored the area before heading on the long walk back to Marahau.
In anticipation of a visit to the area, StreetWalker emailed the CO to see if he would like us to replace the missing cache, to which he agreed. We took a few photos of the new hide (which has been well covered by rocks to ward off thieving wekas) to send to the CO. A short scramble is required now, so terrain rating should be tweaked upwards a little.
A gorgeous location and we were very happy that we didn't have to share it with too many other people today as it sounds like the area can get very busy in peak season. TFTC.

#9895. An easy find as we replaced the cache Smile. New location is behind rocks in a wee alcove, below a tree that is growing on the bank next to a boulder. You need to go across to the rocky slope, but no climbing is needed.

13-Jul-15
Another one that looks as it has walked.

13-Jul-15
Looks like a Weka has taken this cache for a bit a walk and unfortunately I wont be able to replace this for a another month or so.

30-May-15
not today

23-Apr-15
Didn't have too much time to check this cache out, as our water taxi was due. Couldn't locate either

20-Apr-15
Didn't have that much time as we where on our way back to return our kayak and still wanted to give the fishermans Island cache another go. But we did look around for 30 minutes or so at ground zero everywhere between head and ground level. Given the latest logs it might be possible that the cache is no longer there, or perhaps we were just not looking at the right spot.

17-Apr-15
Spent ages looking no luck...

17-Apr-15
No luck today despite having 6 of us looking. Sad

16-Apr-15

11-Jan-15
No luck here today for us either..

No joy. I put this down to my bad eyes and a bit of fatigue (just walked in from bark bay). Oh well, something for next year.

05-Dec-14
Our first find during our two day / one night walk from Medlands down to Marahau.

After a bit of circling around, Master B homed in on the GZ and we were pleased to get the cache found before the campsite got busy for the night.

We came with a watertaxi and started our 12 km track to Matahau. Nice cache in a fantastic area.

25-Nov-14
After a 13 km walk along the trail we ended up at Anchorage beach. My wife got tired and sat down on a log and refused to move until the boat came and picked us up.
I myself went cachehunting. It took me a while to find this box but finally it was in my hands.
Afterwards I went back to the beach and served my wife some coffee and a muffin. Almost at once we got company by a duck (?). The bird kept on quacking until we gave it a bit of the muffin.
We had a fine day in the Abel Tasman N.P., but where is the warm weather we expected to find?
TFTC and greetings from Sweden.

Quick find but looks like the corner of the container was gnawed by a possum!

01-Nov-14
Walked the bush track from Te Pukatea instead of kayaking round. Very pleasant. What a great setup at Anchorage Bay. Only a few people around on this glorious morning. Must be bedlam during the Summer. No difficulty with finding the cache. Thanks.

As my tent was only 24 metres from GZ i thought I'd save it for a night cache after everyone had gone to bed. As the only camper there was no worries of muggles. Quick find thanks. Took TB

We tried this one twice, once on the way out to Pitt Head and once on the way back. We search for about 15 minutes, but had no luck. The hint was of no help and there were people pitching tents close to GZ, so we gave it up and headed back to catch the last boat home.

Thanks for showing us this nice walk! Easy find.

Mrs SoBad was about to give up as the GPS was unhelpful. Then a friendly cacher who had just done the loop in the reverse direction offered assistance. Reading the logs now she realises that she should have done that earlier.
Thanks. The last for the day.

TB drop - found it log follows in a couple of weeks

14-Jan-14
Found on a day walk from Marahau to the Anchorage and back to find some of the caches along the way. Hunted this one down before having a picnic lunch at a nearby table. I had to use a bit of cacher's instinct here as the GPS reading were bouncing around a bit; found it after about 10 minutes' search. Signed log, TFTC

13-Jan-14
We were lucky twice today: 1. to found this cache after long search, 2. no to stay overnight in this crowded camp

07-Jan-14
Easy find, but hard to log because of the mugglers. Beautiful place! I stayed here for 2 nights and didn't want to leave...

05-Jan-14
First find in New Zealand and first on our coastal track. Actually met the cache owner and got an extra hint. Thanks!

27-Dec-13
The last one of the loop cost me the most time. I couldn't use the hint. Thanks a lot for all the caches along the loop.

01-Dec-13
Surprisingly, no muggles around at the time I came through. The hint isn't completely useless at the moment if you observe close enough and connect the dots. It was nice walking along the beach at the Anchorage with hardly anyone else in sight. Spent the rest of the day hiking up to Bark Bay where I spent the night in the hut and kayaked the next day. Amazing place, hope to come back here again during my time in New Zealand!

Hint totally meaningless at the moment. Local warden came along. He said he had been shown the hide, but could not remember!! Pleasant chat, then we found it anyway soon after he wandered off to chase tourists. Thanks

14-Jun-13
South Island take 2! I got a second chance to travel around south, so I'm trying to pick up a few caches I didn't have time for the first go around. Walked the beautiful coastal trail to Anchorage with 2 others & picked up 2 more people on the walk back. Wonderful day for it! TFTC! Smile

02-Jun-13
There were muggles, but not the tourist kind. The groundskeeper was nearby and he was suspicious of us looking around near the construction area. But Choco started chatting with him and all was good. Otherwise, it was a quick find.

01-Jun-13
Had a bit of a chat with the caretaker covering interesting topics like the boat about to get stranded on the beach, then located GC. The area will be great when reconstruction completed. TFTC.
