With 93 finds over the past 8 years but also with a change in GZ conditions its time to retire this one to open up the area for new caches to place by others. Thankyou to all who took on the adventure to find this one.
Will fix up after the lockdown is over. Hopefully next weekend. Fingers crossed.

Hi there sedgwickDave,
This cache has been flagged by Geocaching HQ as a cache that **MAY** need some attention.
You may recall having received an automated email from Geocaching HQ which explained what you needed to do.
Unfortunately, nothing seems to have happened, so I am having to take the next step and temporarily disable the cache - see here: [**Geocache Health Score.**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=713)
**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days so others know exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication kill this cache.**
#What should you do now:-#
You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-
- **Check On The Cache:-** Visit the cache and repair and/or replace or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache.**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ) Then sit back and wait for the praises.
- **Place A Write Note Log:-** Reviewers are not mind readers, so without your note on the cache page telling them what the situation is, they can't tell what is going on with the cache.
So please just post a note to the page (within 14 days) and, when the listing is next checked, all will be fine for a little bit longer. But be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it.
If you have a long term unavailable cache (where you don't have an actual date), please ensure you visit this page and post a note every 4 to 6 weeks so as to keep everyone up to speed with what is happening.
- **Adopt/Archive:-** If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another Geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it,**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56) so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.
You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of the above. Well, when the cache is next checked by a Reviewer, if the issue has not been addressed, or there is no acknowledgment as requested above, it will be assumed the cache has been abandoned and processed accordingly.
Honestly, I'd rather you decide, so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.
**JUST A TIP:-** Have you checked out the new Geocaching Dash Board designed to assist a Cache Owner in managing the caches they own? Have a read about it [**HERE.**](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2020/07/welcome-to-the-cache-owner-dashboard/?newsletter=PM) You will find your very own dash board [**HERE**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/owner?utm_source=geocaching&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=COD)

Searched area thoroughly. There were large branches that look like they could be where the cache should be, which had fallen in the water. Perhaps the bison went down. CO please do a maintenance check. Looking forward to a 2nd attempt
Hoping to attempt this one but not encouraged by recent DNFs.
Could the CO confirm?

Not so lucky on this one. We searched for quite some time and even got out of our yaks but no good. Hope to come back another day and have another look. Thanks for this mini series anyway. Thoroughly enjoyed them.
Even though you say there is no need to exit the yak, papi and Micaparamedic did so as we couldn't find the cache. Unfortunately, that didn't help and so we came away empty handed from this one. Lucky it is close to home, for us anyway. Thanks, we will be back.

The Omega Empire
Got a call from some buds to say that they were launching some kayaks on the famous Lilydale Lake. And not having a kayak myself, I thought what perfect time to hijack one of theirs and try to put some smiles on the map.
Found after a not so short paddle and search.

Our last in this series and a perfect day to be out on the lake. After a few dramas at #2, luckily this one was spotted fairly quickly. I was given the honours of the retrieval and signing duties, then back to the dock to the smell of sausages being cooked on the barbie.
Have loved our adventures in this series sedgwickDave and our thanks to you for placing these caches.

3rd for the day. Managed to ground the kayak on a stick on the approach. Extracted easily enough then tried to look inconspicuous as 4 muggle kayaks paddled past. Hard to do with a dog on your lap. Struggled to get this back before I realised the coiled up paper needed to be in the lid to prevent it sticking in the thread. HNT
Out with scouts today, enjoying some canoeing with the kids. This was my first water cache so i wasn't sure what to expect, but had a great fun time retrieving this one, even though the little ones complained a bit about getting caught up in vegetation! Tftc
Last on our list for the evening, and with the hot sun going to bed, we found the cache with the sky above us filled with swallows- so beautiful. Left a small strawberry charm as I accidentally ignored the pelicans request for me to bring the cache kit... oops. Took photo as proof of find when the strawb moves along. Tftc! Loved them!! Really inspired me to learn to canoe
These 3 caches have been on my to do list for a long time, but there was always something, to cold, to hot, no boat etc. But today was the day! we took out the blowup raft and off we where. Lots of fun to see the lake in this different way.
We started with No. 3 what was quickly spotted and signed. No.2 was the tricky one. We had to go back and forth a few times to see where it was and how to get there but in the end we had the log in our hands. Then it was off to No.1 what was a nice one to finish with. Thanks to the CO for there fun caches!

I have been waiting for the weather to clear a bit before attempting this series. The weather was perfect for a paddle today. Calm, no rain and not even that cold! I took the opportunity to pack up my geomobile with everything I would need, and then embarked on my journey. The lake was beautiful today. The caches were excellent, with coordinates spot on. I took a while to search through the reeds at number 2 to make an easy entrance, but once I found the clear patch, it was a very easy kayak in and back out. Thank you for this series and for making me come out and have an enjoyable time on the lake. TFTC sedgwickDave
The last for me, and luckily a striaghtforward paddle.
The water having dropped and me not being the tallest meant a bit of a stretch to reach the cache.
Back to more stable ground - where I spotted the Broburg out enjoying the sun!

I was out paddling with Alansee and Maccamob. This was the easiest to spot of the three kayak caches and was quickly logged. It was then back to shore for a couple of nearby land caches before lunch. It was an almost perfect day for kayaking - sun shining, only a very light breeze, and the lake was flat, which made paddling very easy.
Thanks to sedgwickDave for this cache, and the series, we really enjoyed them. I'll give this one a favourite on behalf of the three caches.

Found by Mary & David at 1115. Another easy approach to the third and final cache in the series - no reeds to block the way in. Spotted this one quickly, and we were then on our way back to the launching ramp. A FP for the series. Our thanks to sedgwickDave.
The last of three fun caches for Maccamob, Muzza and I. This one was found easily and notwithstanding another short foray, the fun paddling bit was over.
After two down, the last one we found with ease. The tree on which we found the cache wasn't exactly at head-height, but was still ease to access.
Awesome trio of caches and definitely something to check out if you have a way of getting yourself to the islands!

Great day for a kayak, launched on the lake and set off for the cache. Once my eyes adjusted cache in hand. Thanks for the hides.
Find #924
I had decided to finally turn my kayak into a mode of transport rather than an interesting doorstop in the corner of the garage. I headed here after finding #1 to get a bit of speed up and test the kayak's handling. As I approached GZ there were a few ducks swimming in and around the area, some of which didn't seem too pleased to see me and others that just ignored me. I struggled to get near this one at first as I had visions of the kayak being punctured... but all good in the end. TFTC!

Out today for a paddle and collect the caches many thanks to sedgwickDave
found Cache in good condition SL.

Continuing on from #2 I went to #3, and most of the sailors were heading back to shore by this. Not too many water birds to frighten away as I skirted around looking for a good entry. Ah there it is. BARGAIN

Don't yak too close to the trees. The birds like to produce sizeable white rain! Left kids and hubby at playground and hopped in the kayak with the Rusty's for a quick find on this one. See The Rusty's attached pic (almost twins). Tftc, Jazzmo (NZ)
Got part of my daily exercise inflating the double kayak and the rest of my exercise kayaking on Lillydale Lake today with my sister Jazzmo on her 2nd to last day in Australia.
People are always so intrigued by an inflatable kayak. No matter where I take it I always get someone come up and make conversation about it. Last time I took it to the beach a guy and his daughter even went for a spin in it. Today we were followed by an enthusiastic child but other people were making comments as we carried it past.
We got over to the smaller island pretty quickly and made a quick find at GZ. Jazzmo signed the log while I held tight to the trees so we didn't float away.

After retrieving the last 2 in this series from land, we were hoping to be able to make our way and do this from the water. We zig- zagged our way towards the GZ. It took some manoeuvring to get into a position to make the find. It was geo junior that made the find, as the clue was more appropriate for him sitting in the canoe. SL and made way back to the boat ramp. Thanks for an enjoyable experience. I'm sure with more practice, we will become more competent.
Thanks sedgwickDave for placing & maintaining the cache for us to find.

Took a couple of attempts to find this one. So scared of dropping it in the water. Soz bout the scribbles at top of log, the pen didn't want to play ball. Great effort to put these out there thanks.
Essieg and her potential cacher friend maddenedgeek were planning a paddle this afternoon so I hijacked the whole operation.
Close approach in a two person kayak wasn't easy but necessary. I nearly fell in to complete my drenching but avoided this, just.

Yesterday I took possession of my new kayak. Somehow I think I have got this whole midlife crisis thing wrong as I have divested myself of he convertible and have replaced it with a new bike and the aforementioned kayak.
Today I loaded it up on the car, dropped the kids off at the in-laws, and set off for Lilydale lake. The temperature was already in the 30's but that wasn't going to deter me. As I parked up I noticed that the lakeside at the boat ramp was taken up my model boaters wandering around with huge remote controls. I waited to see what they were doing before I committed to disturbing them however by the time I had unloaded the kayak they had finished their race and were slowly drifting back to shore.
I put the kayak in the water and gracefully (not!) boarded it. I soon got the feel of it and then focused my attention on the main objective...grabbing the 3 caches on the lake.
I had completed #2 and #1 so now I made my way to #3. A few ducks took exception to my presence but apart from them I had the lake to myself. At the GZ I had a looked around for a while but had not much luck so in the end I had to resort to the hint. When reading it I had to question the relativity of it. Anyway I was still struggling to find it but then suddenly I saw something telling. Finally I had finished all three. I finished off by doing a couple of celebratory laps of the lake in the kayak. TFTC.

We finally got back out here again and had a look for this third Yakking about cache. I paddled against the wind and got to the second island, while my son cruised along in the front of the inflatable kayak and enjoyed the ride. This time I managed to get close enough to GZ to have a good look around, when I saw some telltale signs of a cache. It was nicely tucked away and a really good find. Very satisfying. Thanks sedgwickDave.
Finally got back to find this cache today, great day for a paddle! TFTC Sedgwickdave
Had trouble with this one but with help of wife we found it after a bit of paddling around
We couldn't find this one, and did a lot of parallel parking and headbutting tree branches but had no luck. That's good though, because it means we'll have another excuse to get out there soon. Great morning out, loved it, thanks sedgwickDave.
This one was quite challenging. My gps was out by 10m. Spoiler pic in a previous log helped. Did this in our inflatable kyak.

After finding #2 & #3 in this beautiful lake series, n0w0rries and I continued paddling out to this final cache in the series. Reeds & logs near GZ meant we needed to navigate carefully in and once there, ended up manoeuvring the canoe backward and forward until finally my paddle partner finally spotted the micro cache. SL, visited TBs & replaced. Such a satisfying feeling to have completed the series in around 30min. As we paddled back to our entry point, we got some inspirational ideas for future cache placements here. Don't be surprised if a new cache pops up on the lake
Thanks sedgwickDave for a fantastic beginners T5 series. Absolutely had a blast. Favourite point from me for the series.

Having made good time at the first two caches in this series we were hopeful of a quick find here too.
A thorough search with a bit of toing and froing of the "Pioneer" finally revealed this clever hide.
Thank you for placing these caches sedgewick dave. RobinYang and I had a wonderful morning paddling around the lake. [^]
Two new D/Ts ticked off today and all done in just over 30 minutes.

Glorious day on the lake, like glass! , but cold. Checked on this one and cache is still there waiting to be found. The old rusty ring from the previous lid was still attached to the anchor line so this would have given the impression the cache may of been missing, this has now been removed. Cache all good to go!!
This was a funny one for OzHockeyChick, Daznjaneo's and myself as in order to sign the cache a bit of leaning was involved which was my task this time and with a lean and inexperience and a kayak and water damn near gave the rest of the group a major laugh and a near wet experience. Cache found and signed all the same and again thanks for the cache sedgewickdave.

This is the last one left on the water and with this one out the way it was time to paddle around and explore this wonderful lake. tftc
Original cache found and now reattach and securely in place, all good to go. Extra log sheet added too as original one currently 3/4 full. Enjoy
Found the tie around the tree and the ring to hold the cache container but cache missing.
Previously logged as needs maintenance so logging now as a Found. Really enjoyed this one
Having recently found a canoe on hard rubbish, sheldea jnrs dad decided to test it out on the lake. Much to the delight of sheldea jnr, dad was to big to fit so it was up to sheldea jnr to enjoy the perfect conditions. Kitted out with a brand new paddle, life jacket and a wetsuit, jnr took off. 10 yrs old and an excellent swimmer, he was very keen to roll the canoe over, fortunately this didn't happen. after several hours going back and forth near the boat ramp, it was agreed he could venture out further... to cache #3 as it was the closest to the shore (136 meters) where an anxious mum was watching. He spotted the cache easily then took a while to get into place to retrieve it. Unfortunately the cache came loose from the cord and after signing the log he placed it back as best he could without falling in, please note the cache is not attached to the cord. Have sent an email SedgwickDave, Tftc, hopefully it is an easy fix.
With the weather warm but mixed, decided to load the yak onto the car and head to Lilydale Lake. I lived nearby four years ago, and the lake had been my jogging circuit four days a week. I thought I might get rained on today, but the weather was gorgeous. The park was filled with New Years Day families eating lunch and hanging out. There were a few people out on the water, but I am sure none noticed me edging into the islands to find three caches. These were beautifully placed and a joy to find!
I'd only been out 20 minutes and my mission was complete!
Thanks Dave for motivating a terrific return to Lilydale Lake.

So this is nanton34 and my first kayak cache - the first of three to take us to 900 and 500 caches respectively. It was nanton34 who spotted the container and we were either side of the branch to sign the log and return. Tftc
Out with eighthknox to take our newly acquired caches for run. This was our first yakking cache and after launching from the boatramp i was pleased with how the yak was on the water. Arriving at gz the cache was received without much trouble TFTC
Celebration!! 1000 caches done. I Am so glad we got to do these 3 on the lake as they are a unique way to do it, and representing what caching all about. Having fun, exploring and trying new things. We were attending our end of year Scout function with them providing the canoes. Will be canoeing on the next holiday, me thinks. TFTC

Our first tandem kayak trip with Zeus and the eldest. We had fun paddling around this island feeling like we're a million miles from anywhere. A bit tricky paddling back and forwards until we nailed the coordinates. Thanks sedgwickDave.
Another successful find from aboard the boat. We have enjoyed this series and it was a prefect day for our mini adventure. Thanks for the series Dave.
Crusty.

Managed to find it but took a while longer than #1. Good of you to take the time to plant these caches. Thanks.
Our second kayak cache. Geo kid 1 was very excited. Forgot to take pen so took photo instead. Thanks.
A nice afternoon and hadn't had a paddle for a few months decided to go find the 3 geo's on the lake. Got to the first and realized I forgot a pen (rookie mistake) so I took a photo of the log to show I found it
These were great fun and I should do more on water
Thanks for the cache!

This was our second cache of the day in our two man kayak. Having found #2 first we knew what we were looking for and not make the mistake of getting out of the yak this time. A quick find at Gz and then a hard slog into the wind to get to where JMelb was waiting on shore. Thanks sedgewickDave

I have only recently converted myself from 'non-caching other half' into an actual cacher. If as owner of this cache you don't want me to log this find, please feel free to delete it. I was present at the time my caching partner LouiseAnn signed this log, I hunted and was involved in the signing, I just didn't have my own profile at the time.
LouiseAnn and her non caching other half bought them selves shiny new kayaks last year, and tho we had all been kayaking together, we were yet to go kayak caching. Finally the planets allinged and we all met at Lillydale lake. In typical LouiseAnn / Pathfinder24 caching style LouiseAnn arrived without a GPS, I arrived without a pen. However I did bring a couple of spare GPS and LouiseAnn was able to find a pen, so we were good for mission launch. All too soon we were looking for the last cache of this series, and on the lake. While LouiseAnn had no troble pulling up next to the cache in her boat, I was trying out my new sail on my kayak and the mast was a bit too high to get right up to the cache location. Thankfully LouiseAnn was kind enough to sign for me. Feeling very pleased with our finds, we headed out to paddle the rest of the lake. Thanks for the cache, sedgwickDave.
Since we picked up our kayaks in October last year, I have been wanting to head out and get a cache with them. Plans have been made and fallen through a number of times, but today, Pathfinder24 Neil and I all made it to the same place, with boats, life jackets, water bottles and all the other associated 'stuff' required for a trip like this. I did forget both my GPS and a pen..... however, Pathfinder brought 3 GPS (he recently purchased a pair of Garmin Rhinos! Cool!) and I found a pen in the back of the car! we were ready!
I picked this cache up, at 12:12pm with Pathfinder24 and Neil, the non-cacher of the group. Final cache for the lake! Oh how we were wishing there were more! This was a boat equivalent of a drive by for me at least, Pathfinder24 had is sail on his boat, so the low hanging trees were more of an obstacle for him. After this we went off to have a nice paddle around the rest of the lake.
Thanks for the cache and the outing sedgwickDave.

Deciding team work would be the way to get this off a few peoples closest to home lists, the hippy putt putt was brought out and silicone thought about to stop the leaks. It is powered by natural gas or that is what I claim.
For the attempt to work everybody (Emerald Flame, Mr and Mrs Ross 47 and Wal-len) had to bring something to make this attempt succesful. Unfortunately I drew the short straw and the rope was tied to my leg for me to drag as I swam doggy style. Yes I forgot the paddles, so obviously I was the one getting wet, but everybody was very supportive in their efforts to achieve the find and some quite unconventional methods where used. People on the shore would have quite a laugh and I am told that one stage a crowd was watching.
This one was second, easy find as aimed for from the shore and guessed correctly. Ross47 let the team down here as his pen went on leave (we only took 1), so I used my stamp and everybody had a go at scratching their name in the waxy paper.
TFTC then off around the island to the next cache.

As per Paul's log, a joint effort for these caches.
It was a lovely day for a paddle on the lake, and a number of kayaks and other water craft attested to that fact.
Paul provided the propulsion to get out there while others provided the vessel. Not sure what other sort of methods were used, but did notice a few bubbles in the water from time to time. Everybody brought something along to help, and part of my job was to call out the hint and the distance to GZ. Not sure of order, but think this one was no. 2, but the pen refused to work, so our names are scratched into the wax paper. Thanks to sedgwickDave for the cache, Paul the Hippy for the legs, Ross47 for the pen, Emerald Flame for the vessel and Mrs Ross47 for the encouragement.

It was a great day at the Lake for Scouts Founders day. Scouts had raced their rafts, so it was time for them to have some free muck up time in the water.
Datruk and I (Scout leaders) saw the opportunity to "steal" a canoe and go for the 3 lake caches.
Datruk in the back with the GPS an me in the front armed with the pen.
The spot on coords, made #3 an easier find than #1
Log signed, off to the next one.

Find no 3 of 5 kayak caches for the day .this was found easily and a great day paddling was had by all thanks Sedgwickdave for placing these as they were what bought us out on this great day . Found with nufrat and quiet1_au . Miss breanna and I really enjoyed ourselves tftc
Trying to catch up finds from months ago, apologies for the belated log.
1st found in the company of lochb on an inflatable craft adventure.
And what an adventure!
We started off near the car in the shade to pump the rubber skin with air. there was a group of picnicers not paying us too much attention.
Eventually the raft looked like it contained enough air to hold us both. We dined on grapes and cherries as we floated and familiarised ourselves with the paddles and timing (somewhat). After a little while when we felt confident enough we zig-zagged oour way to #3 first, Fortunatly we fond the cache quickly.
A few more grapes and cherries consumed for energy and celebration and we were off paddling our way to #2.
Thanks sedgwickDave for this cache.

Today was the day to use the inflatable for real ... we had tried it on the Yarra briefly to see if it floats last week. PrincessDiala and I arrived at the ramp, pumped, and pumped, and pumped until finally the rubber skin looked like it might hold two people. We were so exhausted that we headed out onto the lake and took a break while lunching on cherries and grapes. We eventually figured out how to paddle forward (which ended up being backward), and following a zig-zag course arrived at GZ. Cache was found quickly, and after another short break in the shade we went off again towards cache number 2.
Thanks so much for the fun, sedgwickDave. We really enjoyed this cache! TFTC

another easy find with breannaluke, quiet1_au and miss B, this is a great little series even for those that are inexperienced at yaking, ty sedwichDave, tftc
Last one at this lake (two more caches and lakes tackled afterwards) this hide didn't take too long to find so we were soon on the way back to the carpark, dodging the R/C yacht fleet who were about to start another race. Thanks for an enjoyable little geoyak series sedwickDave
Knocked this off with PTC, stemicmitsar and spladem. Last one of eight today. Low numbers, but the quality was there today. Thanks for topping off a great day.

Headed out with Snap happy and his canoe this morning to clean up these water caches, set off from the main car park boat ramp and did the series in reverse. Enjoyed the easy paddle out to the island and made a quick find. Thanks sedgwickDave for the cache.
Found @ 5:21pm, find # 1952.
While at a nearby event today I was invited to go for a yak ride to find this ones
PTC and I got to paddle around the lake while Spladem floated / swam and walked along behide as well as Squalid on his boogie board. We made our way around from GZ 1 / 2 /3 and then back to the boat ramp. Thanks to Spladem for letting me ride along.
Thanks to sedwickDave for this cache and all the caching fun.

Out & about with Happy Pants this morning, collecting some caches on the water prior to attending Rebel Acts & Crazy! Nat Girl Engagement Party... This was one of them...
Launched canoe from the jetty near the main car park & skilfully negotiated around the yachting regatta on the lake this morning... After a few strange looks from the local radio controllers, we set off on our epic journey... Completed the series in reverse today & managed to complete this in a cracking time...
This gets a fave from me for bring us here & the effort...

Out for a Saturday morning paddle, a beautiful sunny morning with minimal wind, how good is this. Must admit that the model yacht club setting up when I returned weren't super impressed with the lack of wind.
Simple find, sign the log, off home to work on the list.
