Wasn’t hard to find but needs replacing. Didn’t sign it, took a photo instead.
Great little walk, tons of varied bird life.

Its time - 8 years and few have visited. The DOC access track still provides a means of getting to the caches in the wetlands which can also be approached from the beach so this cache is not essential to locating the others.
Amazingly found the canister with no lid just off the track. Put inside a plastic bag and placed at bottom of a hint. Not too concealed so next person should find it ok unless an animal messes with it. Thanks for bringing me along this track. TFTC
I'm moving in December and I thought I'd grab these caches before it requires another hour to get up here. It was sunny at home and I was looking forward to a sunny, beach walking, caching day. I got to Kaeo and the weather looked less favourable. By the time I got to the peninsula it was raining. Luckily I was only out walking once when it showered.
It was a pleasant walk to gz although this was the one time I got rained on. At gz I thought this could be a needle in a haystack. I read previous logs and it said the cache wasn't far from the path so I started looking along the paths edge. It didn't take too long to spot so that was good. The lid was broken but I managed to write on the waterproof log, TFTC

With the mega being postponed a plan was hatched for some of the Team SEAC crew to head north for some fun. Today was day 2 and the Karikari Peninsula was eyed up as the target area.
Parked up at the track entrance. Found a welcome animal skin hung over the fenceline. Took the walk along the track which seemed to have been recently mowed so was easy enough to walk along.
Took a few moments to find this one but we got there.
Thanks for the cache.

Out with Team SEAC on a long weekend raid of the upper north island. We spent the day caching around the Karikari Peninsula. This was an easy walk in. This took a little while to find with 6 pairs of eyes. The co-ords appear about 7m incorrect. TFTC
Day two of our team SEAC labour weekend raid of the north trip! Today we decided to explore the Karikari peninsula and with the puzzle solutions for the fish geoart already prepped, lots of sunscreen applied, lunch and drinks packed we headed out to explore.
WE found lots of wonderful beaches, took lots of photos and of course enjoyed all of the caches in the area.
This was our first cache of the day and luckily were able to find the small track entrance off Matai Bay Road. after about 15min walk we got to GZ and after a good search by all 5 of us we found it. Many thanks for this cache placement.

Nice walk in, arrived at GZ, increased our source about 7m out. Cache wasn't to far from the path.
Great day out with friends from Auckland for the long weekend. Day 2 of our trip. Sorry for logs been generic. All logs signed as SEAC.

Day two of our visit the the Far North ...... a group of cachers from Auckland, signing in as Team 'SEAC' to save logbook space......
Caching reasonably local today as we were based in Cable Bay.....headed up the peninsula in search of new territory and caches none of us had ventured to before....
Thanks to the CO's for bringing us to these stunning locations we would probably not visit.

Found it pretty easy thanks for chache easy wallk easy find first tree we spotted
Track nice and open at the moment (Feb 2020). Log a bit hard to write on but managed it. Cheers!
And nice and easy find this was.... after getting pricked by gorse several times. TFTC.
Uff it was big challenge to do. Track is very much overgrown. Not an good idea to be here with short trousers. Quick find at GZ. TFTC
"I'd walk a million miles for one of your smiles ... " hahaha. What we cachers do, for a wee smiley! Hot today, running out of water, tired, knowing I have to travel some distance. Never seen such long grass (over my head in places). Was thinking ... 'Farmer Brown's' slasher would make a welcoming track. Could even bring ride-on out here and pave the way. Pushed on regardless, thinking I would have to come back another day to do the next two. Nice wee hide, though. Headed back to geo-transporter and turned the air-con to high. I'll be back. TFTC
Yes you needed more incentive to continue to traverse this track. The grass and weeds were so high I nearly lost the Seagnoid in it. The weeds had woody stalks and made walking very slow going. Yes we just floundered along this one. This one took some time to locate. Finally snagged but very very wet. Cheers. Now to the beach we go.
Its Thursday - day Six -Kaitaia area with The Seagnoid and Zara today. Toby and William at Motor Doctors!
Its another epic 4 week geocaching adventure with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and Willam to the Far North. What an amazing place to explore. Lots of walks, gravel roads and sand. Lots of amazing trees, beaches and interesting POIs. Lots of kilometers traveled by vehicle and foot. Vehicle breakdowns, making new friends and catching up with old friends and family. Snagged a couple of FTF's, lots of lonely caches and the odd event along the way. Lots of cache maintenance and replaced caches on this trip. But what an incredible adventure!!. Thanks to all the CO's who have made this trip so memorable..

Damn - just two days off being a lonely cache. Took a bit to find, so not surprising others had missed it. But the coordinates are accurate enough, so no complaints. The grass is getting real high here - over my head!
Day six of an awesome, tiring, long, three week holiday geocaching with Taybeedragon in the upper north. Caching the Karikari Peninsula. The whole trip comprised of hours of walking on sand, sliding down sand dunes, hundreds of kilometres of unsealed roads, car breakdowns, paddling out to islands, dolphins, goats, events, FTFs, weird boulders. You name it, we saw it. Lots of bisons, lots of cache maintenance, lots of sunscreen. A month is enough. I am glad to be back home. Except that now I have to write up my trip. We averaged just 20 caches per day, but that is still a lot of logging!
Merry Christmas from the Seagnoid!

Missed the track by the creek and tried to approach from the beach. Gave up in thick vegetation. Would have been easy if we’d looked at the aerial photos.
A little search and cache soon in hand. GPS quite accurate. Hint not that helpful as manuka everywhere.
Not easy trek, into sharp grass... Ans it's a totally luck if we found this one ! But the near beach stimulate us.
I have set myself a challenge for this year to have at least the same number of caches on each day of my calender as the number of years I have been caching.
I decided to have a go at this series of caches. Luckily I had the forethought of putting knee-length gaiters on over my hiking boots. This is definitely NOT a trip for the family as the easement track is overgrown with up to chest-high gorse in places and head-high grass. You definitely need to don your body armour to do this series of caches.
Cheers for the cache.

2nd stop on our way to a beach we have been meaning to visit for the last few years. Geocaching has finally given us the proper incentive to finally undertake the journey. Nice quick find. TFTC
Great to do this walk, has been on our bucket list for awhile. Took a couple of minutes to locate. TFTC
This one was a DNF by Zeke and I! got a bit frustrated and gave up... Every tree is a manuka tree! Maybe next time...
Staying at the DOC camp nearby enjoying the beaches and walks around the area. Cache easily found and we kept on our path to the beach. TFTC
(1332) Decided to do the walk to Karikari beach and pick up some caches on the way. Great weather and nice walk to the beach. TFTC
Two attempts (once on the way to the beach, once on the way back) with 8 of us hunting and no luck SO much gorse this time of year, if it's not too hot go for long pants as well as closed in shoes.
No further incentive required, as we continue our walk along the nicely mown track with Yeetrees, love the Karikari beach views, TFTC.
Found by my mum after she looked in a slightly more logical place than me. Unfortunately had no pen to fill in the log.
Second on this track which is overgrown but not hard. Not a jandal walk, thats for sure. Lots of small gorse and long grass on this part of the track. Attempt in dry weather only is my advice. No probs.
Nice easy find. Missed this last year due to lack of technology so good to come back and get it this time. Pity the path is so overgrown.
12.35pm. *FTF*
Parked the car and got out the mountain bike. Only 10minutes to the cache site and a quick find.
Nice to see another cache on this trail it's well worth the walk/bike out here.

This walkway doesn't really need much encouragement to walk, it's such a lovely spot....but it's great to have another cache to find along the way.
