Day 2 of 2 of getting 50 caches in a day aswell as trying to complete the 100,10,7 challenge. This time it was only me and dad but everything went off without a hitch and was a successful mission. TFTC
**taybee** is caching again with **taybee nz** for the dayQuick find here today All in good order, sign log book as **taybee (** *joint sign* **TB/NZ** or **taybee / nz )** TFTC Cache was found at **25/09/2024 @ 14:00:00**
No time for anything but caching today. A quick find and on to the next. Thanks J 'N' K#17322
Absolutely not tempted at all - only interested in the one thing and once that was signed off we headed out again. TFTC # 22,727
**21,253**Leaving the apple series for a few nearby caches that were on our radar. Always good to see Mr Geckoh down on all fours looking for a cache, but he was looking in totally the wrong place so Mrs Geeckoh had to show him how its done, by following the co-ords. TFTC
Obviously a bit of cache creep since KR made his Ftf in 2014. I wasn't going to bother to get this but having just passed Pāpāwai marae with its beautiful Wharenui, why not? Started with the hint and ended somewhere else successfully. Thanks J 'N' K
Out doing some random caches around Greytown with NZ_B. Ugh. log is manky and saturated. Replaced with a new log.
Found it after relying on the GPS but the log was completely sodden! TFTC regardless
gps was wondering all about.
hint didn't help.
we widened search area and found cache.

With (Mr) Davidson Clan and Gap (of Fap and Gap)… On a boy’s weekend roadtrip south. We’re relocating down the road today. So our base camp shifts to Carterton for the night…
We really had to trust our gps here. The landscape has definitely changed so that the hint no longer applies. We were almost on the edge of defeat but DC trusted his cache instincts and found this one for us. Thanks J’N’K and TFTC.

FapnGap and Squirel Nutcase and I have come away for the long weekend caching. Nice quick find here today cache is in good condition. Thanks for hiding the cache.
Day 1 Cache 21 of my mad mission to the Wairarapa for the 100-10-7 Challenge. Wet and rainy day today but cachers must carry on. The lovely Ethness has joined me as driver for the day. Had to decide between the hint or GZ. Duly found. TFTC.
Happened to be on the way back to Kapiti with Talla64 and decided to do a bit of a detour to find this one. Quick find. Thanks for the cache.
With Flowerydaze on a wine trip to the Wairarapa. Took time out for some cache hunting and next on the list was this one which also turned out to be our last for the day. TFTC J'N'K
Scouting the area to try to pick up some lonely caches and realised that I was right on top of this one. Dried the damp log out for a few minutes and a new baggy and I'm on my way again. TFTC
Staying a night in Greytown, time to go out to find some caches after tea. Thanks J 'N' K for the cache.
Just finished a week of work in Masterton and now have a few days free to collect some caches in the region. Will definitely give this swim a miss. Confused by the hint but then relied on the GPS and got there. Thanks
Cache ok. I dried out log on bonnet of car. GPS was almost spot on. I'm not sure what 'corner' meant but didn't help.
Clever little cache. Tftc

Has been found since possibility of it being missing was posted, but will check the placement soon in case of cache creep
One of 12 located on a day of sightseeing/walking/exploring in the Wairarapa, with a few caches thrown in for good measure! First caches at Castlepoint, then some en route to our ‘base’ near Carterton, and a few later on in the Greytown area.
We wonder if the hint needs updating – the only ‘corner’ relates to a new fence which is about 20m from where the cache is actually sited. We looked in that ‘corner’ without success, but managed to find the cache about 4m (according to our iPhones) from where the coords indicated it should be. #2297. TFTC.

Sorry DNF log should have been dated 12 January and has been corrected. The NM log date can't be changed.
Came here on a pleasant bike ride around Greytown area. Though I lived in Greytown for a while some years ago I hadn't been this far down, only as far as the marae.
No gliding going on today, I guess the weather wasn't suitable.
I wasn't optimistic here as the cache hadn't been found since June 2017.
Surely someone has been here since then, wondering if there are unlogged DNFs.
Would have been great to find the cache as it would have been great points for the Lonely Cache Challenge but no luck.
Seems an owner check would be desirable please.

I went for a drive to the Wairarapa today picking up a few drive bys. Thanks for placing the cache.
After a day in the Rimutakas with agcnz and Yeetrees, I took the opportunity to look for a couple more on the way home.
It's a bizarre area this, down Papawai Rd; close to the affluence of 'white' Greytown and the adjacent JR's orchard. Then to get from one to the other (and this cache), you have to pass through a small and very Maori community where outsiders can often be visually checked out with suspicion by the locals. I certainly felt eyes on me today as I travelled down Pah Rd.
Once safely near GZ, and taking care to heed the advice of both the cache name and the "Private Property" notice at the entrance to the orchard, the accurate co-ordinates ensured a quick find.

Super quick find, but had to evict a Chick-uggle sitting on the cache!

Not a day for swimming anyway! TFTC. Over here for work from Wellington and killing a few hours before checking into our hotel for an overnight stay.
Cache #3,557. A big cache run through the Wairarapa with Infoferret after we completed the Pylons trail up the Rimutaka Hill earlier today. Enjoyed the name more when we got to the GZ! TNLNSL. Thanks for the cache!
Found with TregearP whilst in Greytown for the weekend. We'd intended to follow this road to some other caches, but decided to adhere the signage.
All in good order, TNLNSL, TFTC.
The tenth cache of twelve visited by Susan's TB on my birthday.

#2511. I have been on leave all week which was a good option as I have been caching away during a long run of dot days. With stunning fine weather forecast, I decided to head over to the Wairarapa to pick up a bunch of caches to get my July numbers up. Wasn't sure why swimming would be a problem here until I opened the car door. Then I could smell the reason instantly. I have a couple of caches near effluent treatment sites and there was a great possibility for another in the "Cache at Pooh Corner" series here. Anyway I found the secure hiding spot and signed the log. Returned as found. Thanks for the cache.
A quick stop and find while exploring Greytown. TFTC. Is hard to open as container has rusted.
A quick easy find. One is left in no doubt that the other side of the fence is private! There was also a rather unpleasant smell wafting from the direction of the pond. I don't like to think what's in there!

Nice & quiet around GZ today, although a little damp from the rain this morning.
Took a bit to track it down. Log is soaking wet too, so will need replacing. TFTC J'N'K

Found Started out about 10 am this morning on the bikes with a heap of caches saved from when we were down here last, thanks to all the cos and Wilcox for the time and effort put into some of the ones we came across, after roughly 20km we managed 19. Lovely day and now sitting back enjoying a well earned beer. Tftc I have added paracord key chains to the ones I could. - I love this town and if it hadn't been for all the caches here I wouldn't have had the chance to enjoy my stay.
Down in the area for a caching week.
Enjoying finding all your caches and the area.

Our son-in-law works on the orchard beyond the 'Private Property' warning sign, so I reckoned it would be a good place to go to find a few caches in the Wairarapa when I had some hours to spare without Mrs B. Parked just up the road and walked down to GZ. Using the hint made for a quick find, although the cache is pretty well hidden so is easy to overlook if you are not careful even then. The warning in the description to not pass the sign is a good one: there are apparently some motion detectors soon after it that sound an alarm for the owner to be able to quickly investigate who is trespassing. No point in drawing muggle attention to yourself when you don't need to! TFTC
Great find, wonderful Wairarapa, interesting plant life, great to visit my childhood area. TFTC
I made a return visit today and made the expected quick find, which was good as the weather was just a little more than the "odd shower" that was forecast. Nice to find the cache this time around. Cheers and TFTC
#1260 Found during a 24 hour caching raid in the Wairarapa with Nic-jay- seeing how many we could find in 24 hours. Determined to track this one down and managed to after checking several possible spots. Well hidden despite the dead weeds. TFTC!
Found while on a 24 hour caching adventure with Skaga through parts of the Waiarapa.
A well hidden cache! The water looked very tempting on this gloriously warm spring day until Skaga pointed out the sewage sign! Turned out that I wasn't as hot as I thought I was! TFTC

Nice cycle ride to this cache. Thought it had gone because of recent spraying but it was hiding waiting tt be found. Tftc
Got asked by passing motorist if I was okay... Oh yes I replied, just taking in the view! t4tc
Managed to wangle most of a weekend in the Wairarapa. Knew it was coming up for a while so had put in a bit of an effort solving some puzzles. Had a great couple of days and wound up with about 300 finds. Hardly scratched the surface really - I'll be back!
last day of christmas break so decided to head over the hill and have a big geocaching day in the Wairarapa ahead of the Finnish Carrington Park event. Great day of caching around the back roads, and seeing parts of this area we've never been to before.

Another that took longer than it should have!
Found on a great day exploring southern Wairarapa in the sun (mostly), with Tan1aNZ.

I made a complete meal of this one. I misread the hint which meant I looked in all the wrong!!! places.
Out for another quick foray into the fertile caching pastures of the Wairarapa. No time for swimming today anyway. TFTC
Had been to Papawai before, but never been to the end of the road. Wasn't at all tempted to swim here.
Cache was in the third place we looked. TFTC.

#6092. Have found a few of don't swim here caches in the Wairarapa. This is quite a sizable facility. TFTC.
Out with Pamibi and Zissas geocaching in and around Greytown. While we didn't swim here, the swans and ducks happily paddled the day away. TFTC.
#4578. Saw the sign as to why no swimming here. Found after a short search. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Took longer than it should've as I was initially focusing on a different sized container. TFTC, resisted any temptation to go for a dip.
Ok, 5.20pm is not a good time to try and pick this one up. Its home time for all the fruit pickers at JR Orchards. Had to sit in the car around the corner for some time until while they walked out and along the road back to their accommodation. Once the area was clear made the approach and quickly collected the cache. Log signed it was slipped back into its hiding spot.
Last cache today, 32 found over the course of the day. It was an enjoyable morning doing a quick raid and then a more relaxing afternoon picking up a few extra ones. Thanks for the caches around Greytown.
