What a lovely day out in and around King’s Billabong. Lots of campers on the river. Didn’t quite get the area cleared, so will be back but not on this trip. Highlights for today included wildflowers, river views, and a surprise encounter with a wriggly stick

A quick find here, as something looked just a bit out of place Smile

*Found by Snap Happy* Cool

After a few days in Mildura with Happy pants, Happy Feet, The Empire, omegaman1971 and Rebel Acts it was time to grab a coffee and grab the last few caches before heading for home. It was a great time away with nice weather and good company. A great time was had by all. Big Grin

SO - with the prerequisite coffee and car fueled, we headed back to grab the few remaining caches in this area. Smile

Thanks for the cache doheng. Appreciate your efforts. Big Grin

Heading out for a walk around the billabong this morning grabbing quite a few caches from several CO's and this one brought us to the end of the path before heading back for home. It initially had us stumped and we read the description about a Beatles song and we came up with too many this time of the day we thought it could of been Here comes the sun, maybe Let it be, Get back, Help!, The long and winding road, With a little help from my friends, Twist and shout, Come together, Helter skelter, Norwegian wood or even, l am the walrus... It was Snap Happy that made the sneaky find after a few minutes and we all sang l feel fine! and in time added our names to the log, thanks doheng for the cunning little hide, will give it a fave point for the different type of hide.

This was a great opportunity to get away with some caching friends in Mildura. The plan was to hit some of the local trails and geo art. There was many other hides discovered, with some really great containers and hides in the area.

This one had us looking high and low, scratting our heads but it was Snap Happy who made the find. Now I have read the hint and worked it out, it all makes more sense.

Thanks doheng for placing the cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy the find.

Found by The Empire
My last day here in Mildura, Happy Pants was keen to finish the Game of Thrones series this morning - no matter how much walking we needed to do! Snap Happy, Rebel Acts and Happy Feet joined for a fun morning wandering around these cool trails picking up clues along the way... and any other caches that we came across. Awesome effort, favourite point added! Thanks for the cache doheng.

Found by Rebel Acts

In Mildura for a few days with Snap Happy, omegaman1971, Happy Feet, Happy Pants and The Empire.
After finishing off the GOT series it was time for Me to do the turtle series, it was a little challenging getting to some locations but I managed to get them all done.

The highlight for the day were the fantastic gadget caches in the area.

Thanks doheng for the cache.

Only resorting to the unobvious a little further away did this hide reveal itself.

Took us quite a while searching in the wrong spot as coordinates were 7m off for us. Clues in logs weren't helping but with persistence my 17yo found it. Nice cache, thanks as usual.

Found on a trip from Adelaide to the Mildura area for a few days of caching with Team Waldron, Brisal5 and FeatherWaite. Our main targets were the Paddle Steamer and Turtle geoart series' but we also took the opportunity to seek out a few other caches along the way.

We were fortunate with the weather. After a burst of very hot days, we timed our trip nicely to coincide with the milder conditions before the next hot spell. That helped to make both the caching and the camping along the Murray River and in the Murray-Sunset National Park very pleasant.

We ended up finding all the caches that we had targeted. Most were in good order. Some of the puzzles were quite challenging and there were some very novel and entertaining multi's. Some certainly took a bit of finding and there were many very clever and/or tricky caches and containers that were a credit to the cache owners’ ingenuity.

It would have been good to have had another day or two to complete the remaining caches in the area, but I’m sure we’ll be back.

Thanks to all the cache owners for the hides.

Over from SA for 4 days of caching with Egregory1, Featherwaite and Brisal5.

We came primarily to do the Paddlesteamer series but picked up orthers as we drove around.

Apologies for the generis logs.

All caches we found were in good order.

Thanks to all cache owners whose caches we found.

Found during a trip from Adelaide to the Mildura area for a few days of caching with Brisal5, e.gregory1 and Team Waldron with the main aim to complete the Paddle Steamer and Turtle GeoArt series but also to find other caches along the way. We camped out on the banks of the Murray River near Mildura on the first night, at Rocket Lake campground in the Murray-Sunset National Park on the second night, then back to the banks of the Murray River near Merbein on the last night. We signed the logs as B.E.F.W. Thanks to all the cache owners for placing the cache!

Bring on 2020! GeoCaching - Great way to start 2020! Despite the dry summer vista I love the river, weathered stumps and trees. Mission today is to pick up an assortment of caches except I’m doing it in a most inefficient way as I’ve only the phone so it has meant not much pre planning with a bit of zig zagging on the bike before it gets really hot again. Either way, learning some puzzle solving skills and exploring Mildura is a plus. Here with a buddy who was brought up here so visiting the locations is accompanied by stories and memories. PLENTY of distractions too from the novel I brought with me TFTC

Suscoe headed out again today in the company of our great friends Phetlern.
It was a cool and cloudy start to the day but it ended up sunny and mild.
All in all a great day for caching in and around Mildura.
We headed to the south east and found a good range of caches near Irymple and further out.
King's Billabong was beautiful in the cool morning air.

Thanks to doheng for this hide down the track.
A lovely walk today.

Travelling around Australia, today we threw the GeoBike on the car for Mr Felix to tackle the last few Turtles and a few more caches around Kings Billabong before the rain tonight.

Just before lunch 11.30am and Mr F was on his bike to see what else he could find. Managed to find your cache today. Mr F is a beetles fan and he was signing away as he arrived. Fave point

Our GPS had the GZ about 5m away in an open space. We looked up (thinking about the cache name) & there was a skimpy nest (probably a Top Knot Pigeon's) on the flimsy tree branch about 3-4m above our heads!! Thankfully we also used our brains and quickly realised that it was not cache related!
We did find the cache.... could be quite tricky! Wink Thanks for the efforts of the CO in placing this cache.

Since I haven't been out geocaching for a while, I decided to take a trip out on a magnificent Sunraysia day and look for some geocaches. Made my way to this site and knowing how good Doheng is at placing geocaches, I paused after an initial sweep, took a breathe and had a look for something that did not appear natural. Then low and behold something that was not. Great hide again Doheng and thank you.

10-Jul-16
I headed to Mildura mainly to attend the '4 months to the Surf Coast Mega' event, but took advantage of the opportunity to do a longer roadtrip covering the north-western parts of Victoria. It's one of the few parts of Victoria I had not yet visited, so there were some great discoveries and much caching along the way. After covering Mildura I headed westwards along the river as far as Echuca before heading south again back home.
This Sunday afternoon was spent wandering around the Kings Billabong Wildlife Reserve.

After attempting to drive in and getting (almost) bogged I carefully made my way back to firmer ground and left my car there. Then it was a long but enjoyable walk in, where I saw braver cachers drive in and then found them bogged a few kilometres down the track. It all ended well when some youngsters helped out with a tricky recovery.

This was a very sneaky cache that I thought had flown away, but fortunately a thorough search ended with smiles and a smilie.
By the end of the afternoon I had walked a leisurely 13km and found about 15 caches in 4 hours.
Thanks, doheng.

Up early this morning with 2 important missions to complete with McLookers and DAB we headed to this one, struggling to keep up with McLookers as she powered onwards to the cache. By the time we had caught up she had the log in hand and had us signed in.
**Thanks doheng for the very clever hide.**

We travelled up from Geelong for a caching weekend in this beautiful city. I had never visited before, so I was looking forward to seeing the sights !! With a couple of events here today, we cached from morning till very late. We attended both events in between traversing the city and surrounds. A huge thanks to all of the CO's for all of their hard work, well done !!
A nicely themed hide. TFTC doheng Smile

On holiday from Adelaide & walking through this beautiful area. Unable to find the cache. Thanks anyway.

Now that took a long time!! I can't work out how it's managed to stay there. By the way, in winter there's no ants here

09-Apr-16
The bird has flown and the ants have taken over - no sign of the beetles! Quickest sign & return we have ever done! Cache all good. TFTC

26-Feb-16
After a beautiful walk for Princess Peach 25 birthday to the bird hide we stopped a couple times to pick up a few caches (at my request that she reluctantly agreed too) this one took a little longer than usual but still had the cache in hand fairly quickly, I had to move fast as the ants were having a field day crawling into my shoes. we stopped to sit in the bird hide for a while, was beautiful, but with a busy day ahead we couldn't stay for very long, which was a shame. I hope to come back here again and spend a little more time relaxing around here.

26-Feb-16
The 3rd cache for our day! on My birthday... a day there was not going to include any geocaching then turned into 3 caches for that day haha. Took us a little while to find this one and we were being attacked by the ants as well, On our walk to the bird hide. We eventually found it. Good hide!! Smile

Day 3 of a caching long weekend to Mildura with Aussie M&M and mogni. Cool. We were joined by half of doheng. We wanted to complete De Ja Vu. So we had to find some clues first. After an enjoyable walk to this cache we must have been a bit tired becasue we were having a hard time finding it. Me thinks Brian was having a great time watching us squirm. Surprised Not wanting to be here all day he finally gave us a clue as to who was standing closest which narrowed the search. Mr. M eventually made the find. What a great hide and another fav point from me. Smile Thanks doheng. Ingenious Wink

06-Oct-13
On the 2nd day of M&Ms, brisal5 and mogni's caching adventure to Sunraysia we teamed up with local caching identity doheng who kindly led us on a journey to some of the finer caches in the local area. It was a magnificent day of quality caching which resulted in many favourite points being awarded.

doheng gave us a hint of who was closest and Mr M made the find. A well constructed hide. We dislodged a couple of cocky squatters. TFTC doheng. Favourite Awarded.

A stunning cache - very clever.
Took a while to find. TFTC.

16-May-13
Pulled the houseboat into the marina (oops private!!) paddled kayak to water gate thingy, dragged kayak around, paddled to creek junction. Water level too low, dragged overland. Negotiated numerous snags, dragged again for ages, paddled, lifted up levee, paddled, searched, searched. At last!! Now to do in reverse.Sad
Would have been a lot easier to walk but a challenge is always good!
Loved the hide.

I jumped on the mountain bike and headed out to King's Billabong just before sunrise. The weather at dawn is fantastic particularly when you're down at the river with that cool breeze coming in off the water. Spectacular craftsmanship on this one doheng, and at a great location. Very deserving of a favourite point. I look forward to tracking down the rest of your King's Billabong caches when the weather has cooled down a bit. TFTC.
