Working on the Geo-Licence series and needed to find 50 caches in a day a minimum of 1km apart so a plan was put together to take a trip to collect them along with Agazo, Mrs HeMaLuDy and thebrownehornet. I left home at 8am and returned just after 10.30pm clocking a total of 476km on the car. The scenery was awesome and reminds me of all that is great in New Zealand.
Unfortunately we had no luck here today. We found a couple of great spots that fitted the hint but no cache was found.
Lovely little spot though so happy to have stopped here.

Keylev and Agazo hatched a plan to collect 50 geocaches 1 km apart for their GIO licence, and thebrownehornet was also going along for the ride. At the last minute Mr HeMaLuDy said he could manage the kids and school pick-up, sports etc so Mrs HeMaLuDy decided to tag along too - I'm not sure he was expecting us to be home quite so late as he tried to keep the kids up until I got home but finally put them to bed around 9 (we were home around 10 pm).
We drove pretty much around the Coromandel Peninsula to achieve the goal, and collect a few extras as well. A great day, amazing weather, incredible scenery and very few DNF's. Logs signed as Team SEAC or just SEAC (South East Auckland Crew) as we often cache together as a group, and it saves room on the logs.

Maybe it was just a bad day for us (fourth DNF) but the hint was quite specific about where to look and all we found was an empty cavity which would have nicely hidden a screw top container.
Took us a while but got there in the end! Cache was quite damp... We added a new log sheet. TFTC!
Did this one one the way to Cooks Beach was about to give up and then Geohusband came up with the goods TFTC
Would have liked to do the walk but on the way back to the big smoke [:( ]. Great hide. Thanks.
real easy find as it was out in the open with no camo cache in good condition signed and replaced so camo thanks for the cache:):):)
Quick find on a wet Monday morning. The resident tui seemed happy though. Thanks for bringing us here.
Found with Emvy_us while on a regional road trip for the day, we noted the log is quite full now. TFTC Zork V, #8440
An enjoyable day driving around some of the upper Coromandel with Waiiti20. Some great caches and enjoyable views. TFTC
Thanks for putting our attention to this place! Greetings from Germany Hamburg
Took us while as despite this being a lovely isolated spot, 2 other vehicles arrived just at the same time, so we only found it after they had gone. A nice hide, a shame that we didn't have time walk in the trail. On holiday from England and exploring NZ in a campervan.TFTC.
A very enjoyable day (day two) geocaching through the Coromandel. Weather was stunning and the views were amazing

Found this cache on the way from Hahei / Cathedral Cove / Hot Water Beach towards Rotorua. Offcourse a visit to New Zealand is not complete without some essential things: Maori's, Kiwi's (bird), Kiwi's (fruit), Kiwi's (people), Kauri's, Glowworms, Geothermal things and something about The Lord of the Rings. We are proud to be able to say that we did it all.
This was our first (but not only) encounter with the Kauri's. It struck us a bit that there is a vicious Kauri decease spreading. How sad it is that as soon as everybody realizes that logging 900+ year old trees is a very sad thing - such a new disaster presents itself.
We washed our shoes well and did the short walk - because we already did a long walk at Cathedral Cove. We did not spot any Kiwi's (birds), although that's only logical because they are nocturnal and sleeping for 18 hours a day.
That, according to a Maori guy we met, is the main reason that the Kiwi is this nations national symbol... One can only be jealous of such genius!
Thank you so much for putting the cache here!

Very nice quick park and grab. Must come back when i have more time and take a walk. TFTC
Nice and quick drive by cache. Good little spot log full temp log getting full. TFTC!
Parked and found the cache. We are on a mission today so unfortunately did not have time to walk through the Kauri Grove. Thanks.
Yesterday we made the rash decision to find our 2000th cache on geocaching's 15th birthday next week, but before then we need to find 77.
Today we are planning to do the Tapu - Coroglen Rd, then down through Tairua and home to Hamilton.
But we weren't planning on this weather, it is wildly wet and windy!
What an ideal hiding spot! Unfortunately we have no time to enjoy the grove today, but we will be back.

Every day we are traveling around is same but also different. Today we had again the pleasure to visit some very beautiful spots and were also able to find nearly placed geocaches. I thank every single owner for placing it and giving us with doing this an other good reason to come here.
Mallorcatommy and I were travelling through the northern island of New Zealand. What an amazing, breath-taking landscape! On our way we did some nice walks, enjoyed ourselves and found great geocaches. Thanks to all owners for nice hiding spots... We wouldn't have been to a few places without these little boxes!
Thank you!
Thank you!
We walked this track about 25years ago. Remember getting lost on the loop. Track much improved today. The grove is a delight. There were young Germans with a tent even, when we arrived. We waited hoping they'd be gone. While they seemed close to going there's a limit to how many times we could read all the signs. Finally snuck up from behind. Mission accomplished. NINO TFTC
I joined forces with yorkshirekiwi83 for a couple of days caching around the Coromandel Peninsula. After a very early departure from Auckland, we then drove around the Peninsula anticlockwise, calling in at Pauanui, Tairua, Hahei and Cooks Beach, to find caches in those places, before taking the 309 Road to Coromandel, where we stayed the night. A nice easy find at the start of the track here. TFTC!

We were travelling back from Whitianga to Thames today, and thought we would grab some caches along the way as this is the first time we have driven this way since starting geocaching.
This one took us a few minutes to find as we left the GPS in the car, was easy enough when we found the right post, Nice hiding spot, TFTC

Took us a while to find the appropriate post for this one as we had assumed it would be fairly easy to find and left the gps in the car, so had a rather large area to search without it. curtis1915 found it eventually. There was definitely a log in there when we found it. Thanks for the cache!

A quick easy find once we saw the hint object. The toilet was closed today - for how long? TFTC

One of many caches found during our month long tour around the South and North Islands. I am on rations for caching but finding around 10 a day.
Thanks to all the cache hiders.
Today took us from Matamata to Hot Water Beach. TFTC.

I walked straight passed GZ as I had my eye fixed on a potential hideout in the distance. Back I went to a more obvious spot and found a fairly visible container. What a shame people feel they have to use this location as a toilet. GZ does smell a bit. The walks look interesting, but I had no time for that today. TFTC
Had Labour Day soley Geo Caching, had a great day and the weather held out. TFTC
On our way home and doing a few caches that are on the 'right side' of the road for us that we didn't do on the way to Cooks Beach. Hope to walk or run the track next time we are up here.
Interesting ponga. TFTC.

Another weekend... Another mission... Gap (of Fap and Gap) and I are working on several challenges right now. Who needs sleep anyway... (It's overrated). By the end of today, we will record our longest caching day to date (21 hours); complete a circuit of Coromandel Peninsula; find lots of caches; cover a huge number of kilometers; and race against the heavy rain forecasted for the region...
This one took a moment to find after sorting out posts... TFTC.

On another road trip with Squirrel Nutcase to collect the 309 trail so thought we should pick up a few more caches as we passed. Started our adventure at 6am Saturday and back home at 3am Sunday with 91 caches in hand. Best ever day caching or should I say day and a bit.
2.05pm - You could almost say this is a park and grab, quick find with good hint. SLTFTC

Heading up to Whitianga and beyond today, enjoyed the stop and always great to see some Kauri trees.

I'm support crew today for my husband who is racing in the Coromandel Classic. This means I get to hand him his running shoes then drive for an hour, wait a while, and give him his bike. Repeat many times over two days. You can't blame me for collecting some caches in the meantime?
Good clue and a quick find, with lots of muggles watching their athletes no one paid much attention to me....

On a fun night caching mission with 11hpg11, iammrwalker and C&D, making our way around a circuitous coromandel route to take in the 309 pony express. Little chance of getting muggled tonight, which makes searching for a tricky hide easier although the dark doesn't help! Signed as HICKs to save log space & time, tftc
A few brave cachers from Hamilton decided to tackle the 309 and surrounding areas late one cold winters evening. This was one of the caches on the way.
Signed as H(pg)I(ammrwalker)C(catsanddragons)K(kiwis69)s to save on logs/space

Out for a final Night Caching Adventure with iamrwalker, IIhpgII, Kiwis69 passing through the coromandel before I head overseas for a number of weeks.
We set out from Hamilton at 6pm heading across the Hauraki Plains before making our way up the coast.
We signed as "HICK's" to save space in the logs.
This was the 23rd of the evening for me and was just the beginning of the fun and laughter that is team caching.
Thanks for the Placement

Found as part on team H.I.C.K.S, four Waikato Geocachers (11hpg11, iammrwalker, Cats&Dragons and Kiwis69) on a mad night mission through the Coromandel) which started at 6pm and finished at 5:45am the following morning. Great little hide, but not good enough for Cats&Dragons who quickly had the cache in hand.
#292 - stayed the weekend @ hot water beach for a girls weekend, so much fun. Grabbing a few caches on the trip home to tauranga. Gps had me in circles but figured I had the right spot from the clue, was well camoed. Tftc
A nice wee hide with a good hint, a quick find with yorkshirekiwi83 while on a road trip around the Coromandel, many thanks.
YeoGeo4, Alpenmilch80 and I met to head to the Coromandel and then Whangamata to hit as many caches as possible, in a fun filled day with great company we far exceeded our expectations of how many we would find.
YG4 and I stopped to grab this one, quick find on the correct level. Thanks for the cache
