OHC made a super quick find here. Log signed and we were on our way again. Thanks for placing the cache for us to find.
Time to get away for the weekend, so a weekend trip to Bendigo (& St Arnaud) was organised with Geoturtle37.Interesting history about the nearby orchard. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, FUF009 ~~
Second stop on a drive around the area. Good quick find here and the log was soon signed. The house/building across the road had green grass, however everything else is looking a bit brown. Thanks for another on FUF009...cache all good.
Another lovely day to be out and about caching with Bushfire. After attending the Community Celebration and visiting the new letterbox cache, todays plan was to head into the Percyvale area to do the Adventure Lab and for bushfire to gather the traditional caches I’d already found previously. That took most of the morning before we headed to St Arnaud, with Bushfire collecting more caches along the way. My tally today was a dozen caches, plus the event and the Lab caches. What an amazingly productive and varied orchard this was. I wish I could have seen it in its heyday TFTC and the history FUF009
Left Geelong Thursday morning and cached my way up to Avoca, set up the van in the Caravan Park and glad I changed from the free camp area as the nights were very cold and ice on the screen most mornings.
With 104 caches to log I will have to cut and paste most so thanks to all the folk who placed these caches out there for us to find because without your effort we would not have any to find.
Another day and a new area to hunt for a few more Geocaches with my good friend au.fait, and we called into this guy while in the area.
Thanks for placing this cache out here and the information in the cache notes is interesting.

Hi there FUF009.
We found your cache **"George Berry's Orchard"** at 12:37:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 24528).
We started the day off by nominating a cache near our camp site and then took a route that was mostly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the area & ended up finding quite a variety of container types, and sizes hidden along our route.
We found 21 caches today & DNF'd 1. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our nomadic travels around Australia.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Found during a trip to St Arnaud to attend the 2019 Victorian Mega event. The weekend was spent primarily with e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo, and gridge98 as we geocached around the vicinity of St Arnaud. All of the events and CITOs were attended, we completed the available adventure labs and lab caches available at the showgrounds, many of the creative trails were gasped at their construction, and interesting puzzles were solved and collected during the weekend.
We all left on Thursday in two separate cars, and met up at the evening event, before finding a camp spot for the night in a very CITO location. On Friday, we targeted the StARS (St Arnaud Ramble Series) and the higher quality, well-constructed geocaches that were famous here in St Arnaud, and got lucky with the 2019 published series that we managed to snag FTFs on. Sunday had us continuing to find the other sets of high-quality caches around the neighbouring town parks, the challenge series, before spending a few hours at geocaching HQ participating in the labs that had been published. The event was also great to see some of the South Australians honoured with geocaching life awards (in amongst everyone on the list). Our final day, Sunday, had us do a big loop finishing off our geocache collection, driving all the way out to Kooreh and around via Stuart Mill, walking the conservation park at Mount Gowar, and finishing off at the GIFF event. A massive weekend that turned out to be a great mega! Thanks to all those who organised the Mega and the associated events. The variety between the local high-quality caches, the new series placed by the mega team, and those who needed to be around for the labs and main centre fielding questions was appreciated immensely.
Today with our final day in St Arnaud, we went east and south focusing on some of the *Original Road* series, and the various geocaches that were placed along these routes. This cache was one of these found as we headed towards Stuart Mill. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache. The logbook was signed as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo, and gridge98).

Found on the trails.
Twelve months ago as we finished the Parkville Mega we were advised by someone that the next Victorian Mega event would be held in Saint Arnold. Somebody else told us that the Mega event would be held in Saint Arnood. And then another said that Saint Arned was the Mega event venue. Who should I believe? Struggling to understand the English language at the best of time. Freddo speaks two languages, Australian and Bad English.
Move forward a year. There is a cluster of events, including a MEGA event, at this town called St Arnaud burning a hole in my GPSr. The big white Pay Hero is loaded with GPSr, TOTT and camping gear and we headed east with a collaboration of like minded South Australian colleagues. DavidWazza, e.gregory1, Featherwaite, freddo and Gridge98 make team DEFF98.
Thursday: 5am event at a bakery in North Adelaide. The bed wetter team meets and says that this is way too early. Travel 500km east for the Thursday evening event. Freddo gets a prize. I am no mug. Camping in the bush under the stars.
Friday: Up early and headed out on the trails. And then back to our campground for a CITO! I am sure we did not make that much mess last night. More trails and 200 caches find for the day including a cluster of caches where freddo left DNA. More bush camping after a great meal in the Sporting Club.
Saturday: Up early for an event. Who puts an event on at 8am. Damn South Australians that’s who. After the event it was back on the trails and the Pay Hero is getting dustier and dustier. Found some awesome caches. Freddo the metallurgist was very impressed with the welding. Quality fabrication. And then another CITO. This time at the dump. Plenty of rubbish here. Some of it good stuff. Can I take some home? And finally a giant queue for a free meal. Nothing attracts a crowd like a free meal. The moment of the evening was receiving a Hall of Fame nomination. That prize is going straight to the pool room.
Sunday: Another night camping in the bush. Some fabulous night caches walks were undertaken. Night caching is a special form of entertainment. We spent the day cruising around picking up the left over unfound caches and meeting heaps of new friends. Boycotted the GIFF event since it did not show the freddo film “Cache Confusion” https://vimeo.com/372568752. One minute and forty four seconds of your life you won’t get back. A quick speech and it was back on the road for home. Well Horsham. More camping. This time by a river.
Monday: Caches around Horsham and following the Duke’s Highway back to Adelaide. Time for a shower for this smelly geocacher. An exhausted chocolate frog slept well.
We came, we cached, we ate, we slept; repeat for five days of fun and dust.
Easter 2020 sees South Australia hosting the next Easter big MEGA event, GeoVenture 2020 at Millicent. GC82DAN. Check it out. We would love to see you there.

Found during a trip to St Arnaud to attend the Mega event.
FeatherWaite, gridge98 and I left Adelaide on the Thursday, taking a circuitous, but scenic route to St Arnaud to pick up a few caches in some other Victorian LGAs. We met up with Freddo and Davidwazza at the event that evening and teamed up to complete a couple more caches that night together before camping out of town.
Over the next three days we cached very solidly in and around St Arnaud, finding a diverse range of Traditional, Multi, Unknown, Virtual, Letterbox, Wherigo and Earthcaches as well as attending all the events associated with the Mega. We also managed to complete all the Lab caches over the weekend. Logbooks were signed D.E.F.F.98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo and gridge98).
On the Sunday afternoon, after the final GIFF event, FeatherWaite and I began making our way back to Adelaide, picking up a couple of caches before camping in the Little Desert NP. The following day we continued towards home with a side visit to Mount Rescue to pick up a few caches along the tracks there.
Thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches. They included a huge variety of containers, hides and puzzles, many of which were very clever and/or amusing and had obviously taken considerable time and effort to construct. Thanks also to all those who organised the Mega and the associated events. I’ll be looking forward to the Mega at Millicent in South Australia next Easter!

Travelling around to clean up a few of the extra caches in the area. A nice little spot here so we stopped for a drink as well as a cache.

Found as part of our trip to the St Arnaud Mega event. On Day 1, e.gregory1, gridge98 and I left Adelaide on the Thursday morning, straight after the Earlybirds event in North Adelaide. We travelled a long and circuitous route via Bordertown, Nhil and Warracknabeal to find caches in 5 additional Victorian LGAs that I had yet to visit (namely Buloke, Loddon, [Greater Bendigo - I’d previously visited], Mt Alexander, Hepburn and Central Goldfields). On Days 2-4 we met up with Freddo and Davidwazza. As a group we systematically completed each of the many series around St Arnaud and found all other caches along the way, signing the logbooks as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Freddo, Featherwaite and gridge98), as well as attending the events and completing the Lab caches. After the Mega, e.gregory1 and I headed back to Adelaide camping out in Little Desert NP overnight. On Day 5 we had intended picking up caches around Mundulla and Mount Monster but a last minute change of plans saw us head into Ngarkat CP instead, for a solid drive and a few extra rewarding cache finds. Many thanks to all the cache owners for placing the huge variety of caches around St Arnaud and to all those who organised the Mega and the fantastic weekend away. Thanks for the cache FUF009!
A drive around town from one side to the other as we gather a few more smileys before heading home after the Giff. Thanks FUF009 for all your efforts in placing caches for us to find.
We detoured down south to finish off the last few caches down here, cache was found all in good order
What a big trip this was! I headed over to St Arnaud for the 2019 Victorian mega with e.gregory1, Davidwazza, Featherwaite and Freddo for the long weekend.
The weekend was filled with a lot of finds ranging in puzzles, a few events and some very well constructed hides around the area.
Day 1: I headed over with e.gregory1 and featherwaite, with the aim to collect some unfound LGAs for the guys, with only a 500km drive to the mega from home we added an extra 450km to the trip by going over to Bendigo and further south exploring some regional towns, overall we added an extra 6 LGAs with only 18 finds for the day. Was great to see some of the interesting little towns and what they had to offer for future visits.
Day 2: As a group we hit the trails in St Arnaud as a group signing the logbooks as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Freddo, featherwaite and gridge98) to save a lot of room in the logbook. We started off with the geoart Stars and thought it would take most of the day, as we finished it in 2.5 hours we were a bit surprised so hit the well constructed caches in the south of the town in the bush throwing a CITO in the mix. All the caches were amazing and something you don’t see anywhere else. Adding in 15 FTFs along the way with: everlasting, crank1 and Pwola. The evening settled in and we headed into town for a buffet dinner and a catch up with some familiar faces.
Day 3:
After attending the GV2020 event for the morning we set off to hit the last of the trails left in town of the metal containers, followed by the challenges for the mega as well as quite a few trads around the back roads. We ended the day by having a go at the lab caches at the mega then off to the CITO. I don't think I have ever seen so mant people at a tip before. Topped off the day with an evening event.
Day 4: By today the town was almost cleaned out and only a few caches to find, so we did the last few caches within a rough 15km radius driving around finding the odd cache here and there. The GIFF was finished off the mega so we decided to head to Horsham for the evening.
Day 5: After leaving our camp site for the morning, we cached for the morning around Horsham collecting a few grads and a well earned swim. Then made the long drive back home to Adelaide.
Thanks to all the COs for their cache placements and the Geocaching Victoria crew for organising a fantastic weekend away.

Found staying in St Arnaud for a week to attend the Mega Event, had a great time finding some quality caches around the area, this was one of them. I teamed up with My good Mate Rosstaman and Green Gecko from Brisbane. Having been to St Arnaud three times we were glad of the new publications today, that gave us something to do before heading out far and wide in all different directions to find caches.
Thanks FUF009 for the cache.
Thanks FUF009 for the cache.
Found with Cybergran V and her MuggleHubby on Mega Eve (the day before the opening of the big one).
We drove straight past GZ as we were listening to Cybergran V read off the extensive list of produce from this orchard recorded on the cache page instead of paying attention to the GPS.

The long weekend approached and as I was up here for the event in January and I noticed all of the caches up here and was told by numerous cachers that there are some high quality caches to be found so I decided to spend the weekend up this way.
Caching around the outskirts of town taking all of the back roads before hitting town.
Another interesting spot highlighted by Geocaching and looks like the vines are still growing and a couple of old buildings as well.
Dropped of a TB dedicated to wine.
Thanks FUF009 TFTC

A fun trip to St Arnaud yet again. Amazing caches, fun events and a great afternoon evening with becca85, neisha07 & GemmaSistema/Ad/Luke. TFTC!
St Arnaud weekend and I just had to be there because it is always such a cool and quality [^] weekend!
46 caches found and 4 events attended made for an awesome 3 day trip away and since there was a new cache trail at St Arnaud, well we all know that the caches were amazing, as always![^][^]
There were a few SA geocachers that I hadn't seen for ages and so it was lovely to catch up and cache with them [^]
Although the end of the trip involved an unexpected detour home through Horsham in case Rex, who had decided that a bloody large wriggly stick seemed like a fun toy to play with, required emergency vet work after he tried to touch noses with the big brown that was up and striking at him!
Thankfully Rex didn't need vet assistance [^] and he now seems to have a healthy fear of snakes (he even jumped away from a plastic crocodile head cache near Horsham[^]) and is much more aware in the bush (even better because the following weekend he found another big brown wriggly stick at the lake in the caravan park we live in and jumped away from it[^] )
If nothing else the drive to Horsham gave me a chance to find a cache that has always been in a flooded or wet area previously and inaccessible so that find was a bonus
Then it was a very late night [|)] trip back home via St Arnaud again to pick up a cache container that a friend had forgotten to pick up for another geocacher
As I have been about 8 months behind in logging, I'm resorting to template logs to catch up.
My heartfelt thanks to the COs who have placed some tricky, funny, exercise required, scary, interesting and devious caches in some amazing spots! [^]
Rex and I have had some amazing adventures and enjoyed some incredible moments thanks to this fantastic hobby

Another nice quickie as we see how many we can squeeze in before heading to dinner.
After lunch, we (boo09, neisha07 & I) joined forces with the rest of Team Clarmensma (GemmaSistema, AdamSistema & LukeSistema) to make our way through the newest trail of awesome caches before nabbing a few of the rare few we've left un-found after multiple visits to the area. TFTC

Another caching afternoon for the annual St Arnaud events. Once again I teamed up with becca85 and our motley crew of kids (AdamSistema, LukeSistema, neisha07 & boo09) to form Team Clarmensma. With some time to spare before dinner we picked up some stray caches! Nice easy find here. Many thanks for the cache.
Today I turned my attentioned to the southern region of St Arnaud, to do some geocaching.I started out on a bright sunny morning.. I found this cache and 17 others before the weather turned. Cache OK. TFTC.
Sitting at my computer during these Covid lockdowns, I am trying to catch up on a few logs that I haven't sent in yet.
Over the years, geocaching has taken me on many adventures, including interesting destinations all over my home continent of Australia and many overseas as well. It has also introduced me to a diverse group of like-minded caching tragics, many of whom I now call close friends.
Today, I was lucky enough to be out and about searching for caches, something I do on almost a daily basis. This was one cache that was targeted and found.
Sorry for the late log, something I am notorious for. Thank you for adding to the adventure that is geocaching.
Thanks FUF009 (F=8680 H=119) for the cache.

Caution was needed here as a lady was mowing the dirt ...sorry we mean grass across the road in front of the interesting red brick building.
Thanks FUF009 for the placement for us and others to enjoy.

I was heading home from the St Arnaud weekend picking up some caches along the way. I only realised while planning today, that I was 12 caches off my 12,000th find.
Nice area and a quick find. Thanks for the cache, FUF009.

WOW, that sure is a huge variety to be growing on a relatively small plot of land. Thanks for the info. SL TFTC
Found by Mary & David at 1505. A FP here for the facts, figures and history. So lush and green, and perhaps the little old cottage nearby was part of the original estate. Pleased to see George Berry Road and Berry Bridge Vineyard as a salute to this pioneer. What a market he could have run. Our thanks to FUF009.
On our annual pilgrimage to the St Arnaud event weekend, we decided to explore this neck of the woods on the way in to town. Thank you for the history of this orchard. So many fruit and vegies grown here. The old buildings were really interesting too. TFTC FUF009.
In the region in preparation for an event, but of course you must cache your way there. So brisal5, Anymules and I found about 30 'on the way'
Thanks
Thanks
Staying at Redbanks overnight with Anymules and Mogni to attend the 3 months till the Surf Coast event in St Arnaud. Up early we have all morning to cache our way to the event. In preparation we had solved 25 nearby puzzles so they were on our 'must do' list. A day of caching with me usually involves blood spilled, a fall and/or ripped clothing. I wonder which order they will be in today? Not to mention lots of laughs and adventures.
As we pulled up the local farmer on his quad bike was just leaving a nearby paddock. I played with my phone as he came close to get a better look at us and gave his a smile and a wave. [^] This seemed to satisfy him and off he went, faithful farm dog trotting behind. then a quick walk and the cache was soon located. Thanks FUF009. [:D}

A weekend trip to visit The Morris to hear about their big trip (No, not the video again - Ahh!!!!!), and to attend the event in St Arnaud.
We travelled across from Bendigo caching as we went, turned up late to the event (but in time for the BBQ!), then cached some on the way back.
Unfortunately, you don't see many varieties of fruits these days - it is a pity.
Nice description of the history.
Thanks, Robmc.

A gloomy day but the rain held off for most of the trip to St Arnaud with Robmc for the Surf Coast event
After visiting Stuart Mill we took the short cut back to our highway and visited this one along the way - we had seen the signs pointing to here on several different roads. This was our last for the day - thanks for a great day out

After waiting for a while for the local farmer to disappear we were then able to make a quick and easy find in the logical spot. TFTC. 20/08/2016, 11:24 AM Find #2636

This is one of the caches we found during what can only be called a Fabulous Friday around St Arnaud. All the caches were dry, the logs were fresh and many, such as this one, filled with appealing swaps. Like this one many highlighted points of historical significance in the area. What an amazing person George Berry was - just imagine the stall at a Farmers Market nowadays.
What really made the day; Not a micro or nano to be seen!
Our thanks to FUF009 for placing this cache.

Staying a few days in St Arnoud this morning we woke to 'sunshine' yay. Straight away we offloaded the bikes and headed out to visit the town caches.
After lunch we headed back out in the GeoCruiser to grab a few caches close to town.
So much history in this region, just lovely.
Thanks for your cache to feed our GeoAddiction.

Good hide only had one muggler go past but apart from that, it was nice and easy. TFTC
Wow! What an oasis this must have been in its day... and there must have been a pretty good water source. Love the old shop (?) and the beautiful established vines. Thanks for bringing us here and the hide.
Quick and east find. Typically traditional. Thanks gor the hide. Great weather and a chance to find a few more around StArnaud.
what a lovely spot, thats for taking me there FUF009. The original old house near this site was
looking wonderful in the sunset

Found this one pretty quick and got out of here pretty quick as well after three loud bangs went off close by. TFTC
Thank you for the very interesting history of this area. That sort of information makes the cache find more personal and meaningful I feel.

A couple of Events in St Arnaud. A heap of new caches. Good caching friends both old and new. Recipe for a great day.
A quick find but at the risk of the nearby residents being suspicious of strange vehicles stopping close to their home.
Thank you for the cache FUF009. and thank you to The Coffees and Sharkiefan for the great afternoon and evening.

Find No. 694 with our geodog 'Penny' at 5.25pm
Just had to find one of FUF009's hides on this special day (Mr. Tyred n Cranky's birthday) - Well better make that two finds for the special day.
Was able to drive right up to this one in our geo-ute-mobile and found it within seconds.
Took Indian. Left purple dinosaur.

Suscoe had a day out in the Wedderburn and St Arnaud area today.
We started nice and early and enjoyed a day of beaut sunshine and almost no breeze.
This was the 33rd find of 34 for today.
We enjoyed the countryside and the green grasslands looked delightful, we hope the farmers are pleased.
Thanks to FUF009 for this hide.

This one was a long way off the road but it brought us to this quiet peaceful site, thanks again FUF009
Found with Bogonghazy on Day #2 of our run around the area. George certainly used to grow a very wide and varied patch.
Thanks to FUF009 for the history, and the info, and not forgetting the cache, and for bringing us here today. Cheers, Leese

Found by Roma and Max.
We are becoming quite familiar with St Arnaud and surrounding countryside searching for your hides,
This proved to be another interesting venue and a well hidden container with good numbers.
Thanks again FUF009.

Brian (The Old Blokes) and I went on another little excursion to St Arnaud this afternoon to get the latest caches that had been placed around town. With Brian having already completed the puzzles, imputing them into my gps for me and chauffeuring me around, it made for a lovely, easy afternoon of cache finding.
This was a nice, easy find and with good coords. TN, left usual. TFTC

I was out with Geocaching Butterfly79 on what must be described as a glorious afternoon. Perfect caching weather.
Good co-ords had us onto the cache in no time. Thanks for the cache.

A FTF to top off a great day.
Another good little hide FUF009 with dead on coordinates. Not sure what old George's Orchard was like, but the joint across the way is able to utilise the fruit of the vine to produce some fine drops!
