Lots of scrambling around fallen trees from the cyclone a few months ago, but it's still there.
The area around this cache looks like it has acquired a lot of debris since the storm, but the cache is still accessible. TFTC!
After a stroll along the shore to the cemetery with my sister and her kids we stopped off for this cache. Despite the bamboo having taking a bit of battering from the recent cyclone the cache seemed to be fine. Tftc!
I had made a brief search for this a couple of months ago with no luck, but seeing the very recent finds, I decided to have another look today. This time after a better look around I made a quick find, TFTC
Was skeptical about finding this as it hasn't been found since April 2020, so 18 months and 3 previous DNF 's from other cachers. But a quick easy find, cache in great condition. TFTC found with Yvettetb
This cache hasnt been found in 18 months so wasn't sure if it was still here, but a quick look around and found it. The cache is in great condition. Found with Nessvab. TFGC
Found this one on the second attempt. As when we first kayaked to shore I did not take anything ashore assuming there was only go to be one bunch of bamboo, but there were actually two lots. So decided to only have a quick look at the two different locations, enjoyed a walk along the beach. 2nd round I was a bit more prepared and came with a device so that a new which clump to do a thorough search. Thanks for the hide
Our first find of the day! Love these little nooks and crannies!! Stunning plant life here, too! TFTC
Once again it’s nice to let geocaching take you off the beaten track to somewhere a bit different. The bamboo here is quite amazing!
Nice find while in the area with tmann421 today
Enjoying the trip north and the caches
Signed log as tm/ww NZ

Nice find with woolwood9 today.
*We enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.*
Stamped logs as tm/ww NZ which may just look like a black smudge on plastic logs!
TFTC
*Tricky one here - took a while to locate.*

Easy find. Forgot my pencil and couldn’t mark my record but loved the little wander off the main road.
Great hide! Few battle wounds from a brush with the thorns surrounding TFTC and for showing us a new part of the country
Bamboozled all right! My phone says it is nearly 5 km away. Lucky I saw the bamboo down Nook Road
Found with the CO on the 1 year anniversary of our first meeting when he bamboozled me completely.
Replaced in correct place. Only one spot for this cache and it won't move. Please replace as found. Easy access. Red bull energy drink tube.
On my way home from a FTF on Mt Aubrey, decided to try for a few more. A lot of dry bamboo sheaths around made searching a bit difficult, but finally a glimmer of colour showed up and the cache was to hand.
The log is a bit damp and starting to disintegrate quite badly, but managed to find a space to sign.

Man, these bamboo-things are big. It was a challenge finding a way in, but then the find was easily made.
The log has come completely apart from moisture..

Whew thought I'd lost my touch as took longer than it should have as over complicated the hide. Thanks for bringing us here
#11090. Spotting the cache turned out to be the easy part; squeezing between two large bamboo canes was the hard part (I was in danger of getting squashed). TFTC.
Target for today was the Whangarei Heads, so we decided to go there via Mt Tiger Rd and return via Whangarei Heads Rd, which would increase the caching opportunities . Didn't all go to plan as we had to drive past some caches where parking was tricky.
We left this detour for the return journey. Was relieved to see that the clump wasn't too big and it didn't take StreetWalker long to locate the cache but a little longer to access it to retrieve. He looked like he was in jail . TFTC.

Hoping we weren't going to be bamboozled by this one, and were pleasantly surprised Nice easy park and grab. TFTC.
I'm up in my home town of Whangarei for the holiday period and headed out this morning to the Parua Bay area, and found a few caches while there. Ducked in behind the bamboo and made a quick find of the cache here, The tide was in, so the temporary lagoon had been created. TFTC!

I just climbed mount Aubrey with no success so yay for this one! Crazy easy and a nice spot to park. Found with Vanquish
Yay thanks to Happyfacedbandits quick duck and grab we managed to log a find after a day full of DNFs! Thanks for the nice easy cache
We were prepared for a long hunt here as we are still struggling with another cache in the bamboozled series. I was delighted to find this instantly. TFTC
#538 We first went to the end of nook road but discovered that those caches are less accessible at high tide. Better 1/2 quickly found this one. TFT(bamboo fort)C.
A quick find here - log is soaked and needs replacing. We added an interim log and placed current wet log with cache & wrapped in some glad wrap - sorry, nothing else in the car we could have used!
Luckily Yeetrees wasn’t Bamboozled here, a nicely done cache and hide, cool views of the harbour today, TFTC.
Nearly bamboozled, but a better look at same item revealed this well camoed cache. Interesting beach/berm/pool... TFTC
9.50am. Been in Whangarei for the monthly "Mens Breakfast" and as usual lately, there is time for a few searches before heading home. Nice easy one to start with here.
Thank you. David.
Thank you. David.
Nice hide.....haven't been down this road before...didn't get all the way so will be back for the other two caches another time. Cool container too. TFTC
Out with grandies at Reotahi snorkelling day - stopped here on way home - but it had us bamboozled
Out and about with Butchie Bum picking up some caches in this beautiful part of the country. Knew how it would be hidden and after a few false starts the cache revealed itself. Nicely done and thanks for another smiley on our map.
Very sneaky hide here. Was a tad Bamboozled when next minute Team welsh hit the jackpot . Lovely water views nearby.
