Ive been meaning to get this one for a while and Easter provided the time and inclination. A short easy walk to the GZ and a relatively easy find. Great views! TFTC
Nice spot. Would like to have explored further but no time today. It's obvious....when you look in the right spot! 8th and last for the day.
2012 would have been the last time I was along this track. Nice to revisit but this was as far as I went. Spent too much time searching along the wrong side of the top of the rock before widening my search and then I quickly spotted it. There is a crack in the lid. I think a strip of tape could solve the problem for a while. Thanks for placing.
One of three caches located today on a cycling outing. Biked along a rather narrow track, slightly gnarly in parts, to get to this one. Definitely agree with a previous logger than the terrain rating should be bumped up. 2.5 wouldn’t be unreasonable! Found the cache reasonably quickly. Very nice late autumn view from this point. Photo attached. #6188. TFTC.
Rather easy find. Be careful tho, resting on a web beside the rock appeared to be a red back spider (full black, round rear shape and red marking on its belly). Im petrified of spiders, so made a quick log and replaced without relocation spider. Tftc
Heading home after spending the weekend in Queenstown for the Gibbston Concert.
After meeting up with BCD near the Shaky Bridge we made our way up here and after a bit of apple picking at the previous cache we made our way along the track. Once at GZ it was a bit of a scramble and soon had cache in hand. Was very hot in the 28° heat so found a lovely swimming spot on our way back and had a wonderful swim in the river. The water was very refreshing after our wee walk and remarkably warm TFTC

Glad we didn't try to ride because the track is overgrown. Was a pretty hot day. We should have jumped in the water. I think the terrain rating needs bumping up.
Fun! Tricky hint but just wander around and you’ll find it easily enough Tftc
Just a short walk on the track today. I have walked much further but too hot to do today. Better when cloudy. A lot of searching until finally hit upon the not hidden hide. Great views here today.
While visiting the nearby cemetery and cache thought I would walk the fur grandbaby a bit further, he was excited to do it.... was an easy stroll along the river. Didn't choose the goat track to the cache. Beautiful views from GZ.

Wow - that's a rock! Presumably it had tumbled off the hill at some point. The GPSr had me going in circles until I decided to go a little further over there .... and bingo found the cache. Nice new log signed and returned. TFTC
It still wasn't raining this afternoon, although the wind was really strong and the dark clouds were pouring over the ranges to the NW. So time for a quick walk to this blue frownie rock. Last time the GPS put us on the track edge of the rock - mind you it was pouring with rain at the time - this visit the GPS led us to a different part of the top we hadn't been to last time. There.it.is.so.obvious! Bad news - lid broken, full of water, everything sodden. Have photo log. Put back upside down - will need replacing asap.
Dropped one grandie off for a birthday party out back of Alexandra. An opportunity to grab a couple of caches with the other grandie (part of the KNCN crew) T1.5? Was expecting a slightly easier hunt sent the grandie up the rock climb and eventually i needed to go and assist. Safely climbed and descended, finding the cache easily..no 2 steps back for us! Great views from up here really worth the climb tftc
An afternoon A Van and 8kids.... great wee walk for us all on an absolutely beautiful afternoon...and a good wee adventure to get the kids to work together getting up the rock- Older ones helping the younger ones (and their Aunty Cough cough) was a bit cute...TFTC
Great walk on a hot day with the girls! Nice easy find once we found a good climbing route!
All packed up and ready to head home. Daywalk had supplied a list of interesting caches for me to find and I had done some of them and left others for a return visit. However, we decided to have a walk before the drive home, so we set off along the path. Soon got to the rock, having been delayed somewhat by a Tay berry tree with ripe berries on it. Took the first geotrail which meant that our ascent was more towards the mountain got rather than the child friendly of the options.
Once on the top, Mrs KC took some pix while I wandered around and soon spotted the telltale, in fact I could even see the container. Signed the log and then rebuilt the rocks to hide the container better. All the sweeter find as daywalk had somehow DNFed this one.
We had actually seen the end of the track as we rode the first leg of the Roxburgh Gorge Cycle Trail a few days previously and decided that it looked pretty challenging, at least at the Doctor's Point end.
TNLN. TFTC.

An adventure climbing the rocks we were only in jandals and probably should’ve had sneakers for safety. Also accidentally tried to park on private property but was a fun one, could hear the boats and the jet skis on the river
Great find, having lived in Alex for 5 years, I didnt know that track was there!! Fun holiday activity, although in 36deg heat, it was HOT work!! Found our first trackable too!
Bummer we are just beginners at this, got close on the map 1m and even 0m looked high and low but couldn't find it, no additional hints came up
First find for TheKing5! A great and easy wee hike for our family and the 7, 4 & 2yr olds. Thanks for the cache!
Jammed my thumb in the van at work so a few extra days off work so back up this way for a few more days and some more caching. This was a nice walk but there was no wind and the heat for this time of the year was very hot. Was an easy climb and easy find. TFTC
Found with StreetWalker as we explored Alexandra, letting cache hides be our tour guide .
After finding the cache by the cemetery, we spotted the stile to the walkway (we had parked a little further away).
SW got to GZ first and found the cache which was good as I wasn't keen on where the GPSr was pointing (not a 1 1/2 terrain stroll). A pleasant walk, and we just got back to the car as a few spots of rain fell. TFTC.

#16921. We enjoyed the walk to GZ. I spotted the general location of the cache from some way off, and found a pretty easy way of getting there. TFTC.
No death defying hanging off cliifs required here. Steady footwork and your safe. Easy find as the CO has suggested. Great area to take the geodogs. Tftc
Almost finished a wonderful day exploring Doctors Point and walking back, and it's been raining since Butchers Point. So a quick detour to the top of this rock (Terrain 1.5? Must be a mistake since that's the terrain for a cache beside a pavement - probably meant T 2.5?). Saw a likely looking hole in a ledge at GZ , but it was empty. We didn't take the time to search wider since we were feeling a trifle bedraggled and our transport bunny was waiting. Not far to come back some other time!
A quick find with good accurate coordinates while out and about in the area this afternoon. No problems finding a good route to GZ, although a good sense of balance around here is worth having. The container must have had water in it at some stage but it's dry now and the logbook has dried out. Signed log, TFTC.
Nice easy find.
Loved the smell of the thyme. Didn't realise this walk was even here.

I was doing a fair bit of driving today so I need a bit of a walk to stretch my legs. As far as length and climb went, this one was perfect although I think I was here at the hottest time of day. The feature is very impressive.
I think I found the easiest route to the cache site and I was pleased to find it hidden in a very well thought out spot. TFTC, Scottlisatamara.

Out with a crew of 11 including some geocaching newbies (who are now addicted) & a relatively easy find, despite the gale force wind. TFTC!
Last cache for the day. Tranquil here today with the river quietly slipping by. TFTC
Lovely afternoon for a walk to here. Thank you for saying it was only 10min along otherwise I would have put it a side for another day. Mr 2yr old walked the whole way and hubby kept him on the track while I enjoyed the find. cool track with lots to see.
Staying in omakau for the weekend. time to put a few smiles around Alex. Nice quick find tftc
Lynette13 teaching me how to geocache around Alexandra. Great location for cache and a nice walk. TFTC
Out for an early bike ride this morning and some caches - Tftc
Great view - thanks for bringing me here

Enjoyed a quick walk down the track and made the find before the rain set in. Glad there were no muggles about!
Found with debsnz.

The weather looked like rain but on we went. Made the find and got back to the car just as the rain started. Found with Aoraki Sheep.

The last time that I was in town the Apple Tree cache was the last find of the day, as we decided not to carry on to this one in the interests of not missing my flight. I subsequently missed the flight anyway. I convinced Mum to come for a walk today and made this the first target geocache, since it seemed like a relatively muggle-free location and is somewhere I've never been despite growing up here. Thanks for a new spot.

Found with Mr Potty, lovely wee walk from the apple tree, foragers dream, apples, asparagus & thyme, wonder what else? Beautiful view.
Nice stroll after having breakfast. The walkway is a bit overgrown now so a bit bush bashing was involved . Nice spot and quick find. Thanks
Nice cache. Thanks. Container is broken though and maybe some maintenance might be helpful.
Found but log book is very wet due to container breakage. Thanks for the adventurous cache
Found on a side trip while on a cycle trip along the Otago Central Rail Trail. A fantastic ride through magnificent country TFTC
Nice walk on a fairly hot afternoon. Easy find when got there. Took heed of hint and didn't take 2 steps back!!
