This gave me some exercise. I walked from my hotel to the first WP and then followed this along the road. Answers sent, with photographs. TFTC McAdies.
Completed cache as a scooter tour of Sturt St with Mr.9 and Mr.4 in toe. Great way to take in the monuments of Sturt St. TFTC
I really appreciate caches that make me look more deeply into things I would have otherwise walked past -- especially in my hometown, when I would have walked past these statues hundreds of times! A very nice walk on a rare sunny winter day. I'm not usually one to take the time to solve an EarthCache but I love learning new things -- it made me notice what appeared to be xenoliths everywhere on the walk back to the car! Answers sent, TFTC!
Gathered all the clues this afternoon, and sent the answers tonight. Great to walk down Sturt St again.
We kunnen terugkijken naar 2 mooie weken in Australi!NLBokkie and I are going on holiday to Australia for 4 weeks. We will go to Tasmania for the first week and then travel around on the "mainland" for 3 weeks. Along the way I'll meet my niece, I haven't seen her for 50 years. It will be a holiday full of experiences...... Our cache goal is to visit different countries. So we fly back to Dubai and forth via HongKong. We would like to score an FTF in Australia. We do that in Tasmania Then the webcam caches in Adelaide and the old caches between Adelaide and Sydney. Then we end up at the Mega in Canberra. A full program which a lot of fun! Unfortunately, after 2 weeks we have to end our trip with an earlier return flight to the Netherlands. My mother passed away and we have to go back. We can look back at 2 beautiful weeks in Australia!
**Sturt Street Granite Wander**Ive strolled up and down Sturt Street too many times to remember, either chasing Wherigos, Ad Labs, rotundas or even lunching in pods. This is the first time that I paid attention to the bases of the statues though. An interesting and educational earthcache once again McAdies. Thanks for the fun. Cache on *Answers sent to CO. I do enjoy earthcaches. Answers sent. Day 3 in Australia and the lovely town of Ballarat. The goal was to try some different kinds and some very intriguing sounding puzzles. Of course this required some help but we have found the cachers around here super friendly and helpful. Thanks for the smile
stopped here while doing other caches along the way..janjorjack sent in our answers..thks for the fun
I found this one really great, it was hood to compare the different types of similar rocks. A lovely day to walk down between waypounts too.
Having attended a recent event in Brisbane where a fellow cacher brought my attention to the geo tour in Ballarat and its up coming finish in February, i knew this was something I had to make an effort to get to.I also quickly realised that the attribute for the geo tour is the last one I need to achieve a personal challenge so the planning began.Today is day two of the mission and Im down to only two more caches to complete the tour and have the local geo art on the radar. I. Also hoping to squeeze a CITO and an event in if time is on my side lets see how we go.I jumped in The geowagon and ventured off the o soon find a nice parking spot. A short stroll later soon found me at ground zero. It wasnt long before cache was found and my name was printed for prosperity. I returned the cache to its hiding space and made my way back to the car. Ready to head to the next adventureA big thanks to the cache owners of Ballarat for making this cache available to be found.Cheers
In the area for the day to chase/ collect/find a bunch of smiley faces. The day started freezing (something different for Ballarat :p) but has slowly come good. This was the largest Earthcache I have completed, so thank you for organising. Answers have been sent to CO and got the tick of approval:)
We visited the different stops/waypoints whilst wandering along Sturt Street in addition to following multi-caches and Adventure Labs. Interesting granite stones with a few interesting xenolith intrusions that I otherwise would not have noticed. Answers gathered and sent to the CO; Thanks McAdies for the EarthCache placement and ongoing maintenance.

This extended weekend, [jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T), infant Cottontail and I were visiting Ballarat from Brisbane, targeting the [Ballarat GeoTour (GT4A1)](https://coord.info/GT4A1). Highlights included the historical architecture, buildings, and artwork/sculptures of inner Ballarat, Ballarat Botanic Gardens, Lake Wendouree, Sovereign Hill, Eureka Stockade, and mountains Mount Buninyong and Mount Warrenheip. We were lucky to have great weather with no rain and mostly blue skies each day, which aided our enjoyment of our trip. Apart from the targeted GeoTour geocaches, our geocaching has largely been opportunistic following tourist sights and attractions, although we attempted/targeted higher D-T combinations from solved puzzles, and rare cache types like virtual caches, Letterbox Hybrid caches, and Adventure Labs.
Today, the plan was to attack the western geocaches from the [Ballarat GeoTour](https://coord.info/GT4A1) which were some distance away, which involved visits to Miners Rest, Learmonth, and Lake Burrumbeet. We started the day with breakfast in inner-Ballarat, and scoped out the Sturt Street gardens with its sculptures and memorial plaques. During our western drive, it was also an opportunity to visit the Avenue of Honour, as we visited the end and then drove towards the Arch of Victory Memorial in Ballarat.
In the afternoon, we looped around Lake Wendouree and visited the Ballarat Botanical Gardens where infant Cottontail had a play, and we had a nice walk within the vicinity. It was then a final visit to Ballarat central, walking through Bridge Mall and window shopping in the area.

Out for a wander along Sturt Street this morning with Nelzarama and had a look this EC. Took our time and worked out our answers which have now been sent to the CO. Quick response in the affirmative so all was good. An interesting cache with all manner of monuments explored.
Thanks again McAdies, another neat Earthcache.

Walked along Sturt Street today with Sol De Lune to collect this earth cache. Interesting looking at the differences of Granite. Answers sent through from Sol De Lune. Thanks for this EC.
Out in Ballarat this morning for a nice Breakfast with fellow cachers. Time to get few caches in town before I head home. This cache rocks. Great to see and learn about the different materials used in these memorials.

Next adventure - work trip to Ballarat so came a couple of days earlier to cache in the area. With so much to choose from my priority is the GeoTour, some oldies, and some ALs. And of course, what cacher can resist the other one here and there that you just simply can’t drive past!!
Day 5 in Ballarat- and my work component of the trip is now completed. Time to grab another cache or two as I head out of town. Todays the day
Enjoyed seeing the difference types of stone, and the subject matter always makes visiting these sites so much more significant. A ️ from me.
Thanks so much McAdies for getting me out and about and enjoying this area

An interesting lesson, I can’t say I’ve ever spent so much time looking at granite. I definitely learn something from this one, and will have to work a bit to send the answers.
I’ll get the answers to you as soon as possible, but as we’re finishing the Geo tour and then headed to the mega. It’ll take me a bit of time. Hopefully I’ll get them to you tonight or within the next few days.
Thanks for the interesting lesson!

Had a nice wander up and down the street, learning a little geology and history, while i contemplated dinner.
Continuing our Victorian trip with the family after some time at the Wang mega.
We spent a couple of days in Ballarat targeting a few caches. While the family ducked into some shops I took the opportunity to run down the centre of the main street checking out the local statues.

Today we headed to Ballarat with the main focus on completing the new Geotour. It was mission accomplished - over 40 caches found, many different types covered, no DNFs, and even a surprise FTF. A day full of smilies in many ways.
After lunch we took a break from the Geotour series to tackle a few others in the area.
The first earthcache I visited almost ten years ago was a McAdies EC in Geelong. And today I am still doing them. Even after finding about 700 ECs they don't always get easier. Somehow that is what attracts me to them (more difficult but also more rewarding) and they are usually top of my list when I visit a new area. That urgency is not always there for the more local ECs and so they can sometimes remain on the to-do list for many years. Today we righted that and finally tackled this one.
It was an enjoyable walk. Somehow analysing the granite and xenoliths on a statue feels rewarding to some of us .
Answers emailed and promptly confirmed by the CO.
Thanks, McAdies. Another FP from me.

Out with Pacman today doing the Geotour, and got a little distracted doing this EC! Really enjoyed learning about Xenoliths and the make-up of the statues. Have walked this a few times now, always enjoyed. Glad to grab this one that has been on radar for some time now.
We enjoyed our wander looking at these monuments. We hope our answers are OK a we became a little confused about what we had written down. SL TFTC

In the mood for a nice walk along Sturt St today after visiting some nearby statues. Thanks for the interesting Petrology lesson.

Such an interesting place to visit - apart from the rocks and geology lesson! Always something to look at. In Ballarat on a few missions so time out to jump off the couch to explore historic Ballarat and it’s ‘burbs’. So glad I came here. TFTC and the FUN
I think this will be the last for today as our friends are almost here and we need to set up camp. Thanks for the cache and the lesson.
We just had time to squeeze this in before we met up with some fellow cachers for a weekend of adventure. Thanks for the cache.
I wandered down Sturt St collecting the information. Granite is a noble stone and is meant for monuments and gravestones, not for kitchen benchtops. I have submitted my answers and hope they pass muster. I will now go and look at my laminex.
We don't know why we have never wandered down Sturt St to do this earthcache, it was always just put off for our next visit and next visit etc. Not so today! We made our way down to each waypoint to examine the points of interest while noting our answers in between showers.
Thanks McAdies for highlighting these wonderful statues and their importance to geology.
A favourite point awarded.

Discovered and documented with Cybergran V on Leap Day.
A couple of events and a promise of some good weather were all the incentives needed for Mum and I to take off and plunder Ballarat. We were targeting one of everything for Project-GC's badge-gen add-ons for leap day.
This was a seriously well researched earth cache that the CO has clearly invested a lot of time and effort into compiling. [^]
Myself, I learnded all about xenolith intrusions and I now know a spot when I see one.
I did enjoy the walk though.
TFTEarthCache McAdies, and thanks for the edgifacation.

Cramming an incredible amount of things into today because of the leap year challenge, dalerious and I have been very busy.

Came up to Ballarat for the day to get out of the rat race of Melbourne and to find a few caches along the way.
I parked the Geowagon at the East end of Sturt St and had an enjoyable walk up the centre strip checking out the gardens and all of the monuments along the way.
On the return trip I walked back towards the Geowagon worked out hopefully what is required to log this one.
A fantastic area which has a lot of statues, memorials and gardens in such a short distance.
Answers have been sent to the CO.
A fav goes out to you for the effort and info that you have put into this cache.

Busy with a boys Bathurst break in Ballarat! An annual event where the boys can unwind and get dosed up on testosterone watching V8's burn gasoline
Wandered up the mall after arriving in town on the train with one mate and got picked up at the station by another. Gathered the clues quickly and headed for fun and frivolities.

Spending a few days in Ballarat with the kids basketball national championships and had some time to wander up the main Street and find a few caches.
This one took a while but the granite was interesting. Also it is a lovely day with Sun shining and a cool breeze perfect for caching. Answers sent to CO. Thanks for the cache.

The decision was made to head up to Ballarat despite the weather forecast but I think it turned out worse than even the forecasters thought.
4omm of rain and winds of over 100 km an hour did not make finding caches very enjoyable but au.fait and the ageing Bushfire made the most of what Mother Nature sent our way.
After a quick grab in Sebastopol on the way to sign a very well thought out letterbox and then out to Creswick.
I was amazed at the number of other crazy folk to head out to this amazing old rotunda which according to the sign dates back to the 1800th century.
I have been working on this guy for a long time and grabbing the answers when I happened to near one of the WPT's and finally I have collected all that I required.
This is my 122nd Earth Cache and another cache ticked off in Ballarat.
Logging this guy with the CO's approval so thanks for the cache.

N0w0rries and I interwove this Earthcache with the Wherigo Cache down Sturt Street and other caches on a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon in Autumn. The weather was perfect and we could do the caches without stress or need to hurry. That made for a really enjoyable afternoon. We also learnt some new gems of knowledge, making it more even more worthwhile. We certainly will be able to wow others with our knowledge of xenolith inclusions now!

The first time I traveled this road was on my arrival from WA on May 11th - 40 years ago.
Today I wandered down Sturt Street with surefoot24, collecting information and running the Whereigo at the same time.
What a fantastic collection this is. We learned so much. Answers will be forwarded shortly.

After heading out from the breakfast event and picking up a couple of caches. We decided to get this earth cache before grabbing lunch and heading to Melba Gully to pick up caches there. Tftc for this cache and the event Mcadies.
Got here early today and wasted nearly two hours trying to find waypoints to some puzzles to no avail. Walked back to the car and decided to get this one done so I would at least have something to show for the two hours spent on Sturt street. Thanks for the cache. Answers emailed.
Had breakfast right after 7 at a nearby café, where I even got to practise my French with the baker himself. Then off for a walk along Sturt Street; what a grand avenue it is, rich in history - and geology! I wandered along, looked at the significance of each monument as well as some geological details of the rocks used. Answers sent to CO and now logging with permission. Thanks for the earthcache and for showing Sturt Street.
I have driven by these statues on countless occasions and it was great to be able to wander along finding out about the people immortalized in these statues and the different types of stone/granite that they were made of.

This was one of 7 cache types found today amongst 14 finds on a cold wet, typical Ballarat winters day, except it is spring. Picked a fairly bad time to walk Sturt St as a band of rain and hail passed through. However the men and people depicted in the statues have endured far worse than this so I stoically set about my tasks. Quite a lot of tasks as it turned out but yet again close observance of these granites and basalts revealed many variations and treasures.
Nice later to settle into the warmth of Maccas amongst friends.
Thanks McAdies for this earthcache and your quick reply.

Night had well and truly fallen by the time locus cache and myself had cached out the general cemetery after arriving in Ballarat.
That short changed the experience somewhat as torchlight doesn't pickup the exact colours of the granite in the same way as sunlight so a couple of answers were a little 'approximate'. Nonetheless I had a great time wandering down Sturt Street admiring the composition of the various monuments and statues. This was (and for future finders, would be) a great complement to the wherigo which runs in the same direction.

Having a few hours before attending an event at the Art Gallery, we decided to go on a walk, inspecting and appreciating some stones along Sturt Street. Once again, we confirmed to ourselves how much more we see and understand when being out on foot.
The statues, the different granites and the basalt, the massive churches, the 'Loud Fences', even the gutters with the elaborate culverts over them, the many different and impressive façades, all of this contributed to a very enjoyable morning.
Thank you for putting the cache out there, McAdies! And for the chat confirming that we were on the right track for permission to log the EC!

Stayed Ballarat overnight to spend with my friends.
Enjoyed walk around the statues.
The weather was so cold and freeze.
Manage to work out as my hands become so frozen as I did not bring the gloves.

What do you do when the sun finally comes out? Grab a caching buddy and pair up to do an Earth Cache, that's what.
Thanks Cherad for again being my caching buddy and adding to our adventures.
Thank you McAdies for this Earth Cache, it was really interesting and informative. I've often admired the different types of stone used for statues and the like, so it was great to have more information about some and to have the different features particularly pointed out.
Thank you again

We managed to find a little bit of sun, Mi5sie and I joined forces to attempt this Earthcache, It is always fun to head out with a caching buddy, we enjoyed the walk and learning more about the history of these statues and the stone used. After passing these most days it was great to see them up close.
Logging with permission after Mi5sie and I sent a combined email with the required information.
Thanks McAdies for the interesting and very informative walk, and for all the fun

Logging with permission and kenare help. I truely suck at earthy caches. But I do love a bit of history. Pretending to be "out of towners " (long story ) we wandered up and down the history aisle of Ballarat. What amazing and beautiful statues are on show that as a young one didn't take any notice of. Shame it takes age to appreciate the finer things in life. Thanks for the wonderful opportunity to really look at things and their beauty

Jenno3 and I decided to take a walk around Sturt St and admire and learn about the statues in the median strip. Being an 'out-of-towner' I'd never really looked at them so much before. Of course we started our walk when we realised that we didn't have a measuring device. Ahh well, never mind, lucky we are resourceful and improvised!! Lol!! After lots of laughs, lots of reading and fun using different 'tools' we decided we had enough info to send of some answers. Thanks for highlighting these statues with your Earthy. Tftc

I pass by these statues every day while I'm at work but it has still taken 9 months since i stayed geocaching to get around to doing this earthcache. Finally i had a chance to do it today as being a very windy day and a total fire ban day you have to have to fill it in somehow. Learnt a bit more about the geology of these artworks so objective achieved too. Thx Mcadies for a comprehensive cache!
As we were wandering around Ballart today (26/1/20) Trigger_Fish (formerly moneydork) reminded me we had visited and worked on this earth cache three years earlier!!!
Wow, his memory is better than mine (old age creeping in?), how could I have forgotten this earth science lesson!
Thanks for the cache McAdies.

We stopped here as a friend needed to visit the nearby post shop.
A very interesting earth cache, great to be able to claim one in the middle of town.
Thanks for the EC.

After attending the Ho Ho Ho Christmas Breakfast event this morning, and fuelled by a bit of caffeine, we figured it was a nice enough day to grab a handful of caches before heading home. Over the past couple of years, sometimes after work we would have dinner in a nearby restaurant, or drive by and look at the granite structures and think "we must complete this one day". Well that day finally came. Our answers have been emailed. Thank you for this earthcache McAdies.

Another educational tour and some interesting statues.
Probably the first time I have heard of some of this geology too.

I had come to Ballarat today with a rail enthusiasts group on a special train to mark the passing of an era...and the winding up of the group. We had a 2 hour stop-over here so I decided to spend my time chasing some caches in Sturt Street.
My main targets were this Earth Cache and the overlapping Wherigo which both require a "stroll" along Sturt Street. I started with the Wherigo as it was the furthest from the railway station and collected the answers for this cache as I wandered along...and a Traditional while I was at it. After I had finished collecting the answers for this cache, I still had further to go along Sturt Street to finish the Wherigo (and big rush to find and get back to the station for my train trip home).
Thanks to the McAdies for putting this Earth Cache together...and their quick rely to my answers.

Another countdown event to the Surf Coast Mega. This time Ballarat. I enlisted Locus Cache for company and we arranged to meet mogni and Mrs. Aussie M & M there as they were coming from a different direction. Having cached all day yesterday and still only scratched the surface we had quite a few left on our to-do list. We had worked on Puzzles on the weeks leading up to the event so were keen to see if we could get some more of those and any others we were passing. [^] Sadly after breakfast the other ladies had to head off home but Locus and I decided we could still cache to Lunchtime.
having done a fantastic earthcache yesterday we were keen to do this one too. So we wandered up and down the street, admiring the monuments, taking copious photos and taking measurements. (well guesstimates mostly as we didn't bring the required ruler.) At one point my hiking boots were the perfect size for one of the measurements. Loved it. Thanks McAdies for sharing.

Brisal5 wanted a 'yapper' to keep him awake as he drove to Ballarat and he thought I'd be up to the task
After a late start Friday, due to his 'anytime is fine' reply when I asked what time we were leaving [)], we landed at our barn accommodation [^] in Ballarat about 8pm. After grabbing tea and a cache, we caught up with Mogni and Aussie M&M before checking out their weekend's amazing accommodation
Saturday we travelled the countryside from cache to cache in our two vehicles and managed to attend an event too (2 months to the Surf Coast Event - Ballarat) then bolted off to find a rare moveable cache [^]
Following a DNF on a bridge cache, our friends headed off for sleep [)] while Brisal5 and I cached until just after midnight by which time we were beat! [xx(]
Sunday after the usual caching breakfast of Maccas we said our goodbyes to the two ladies and then we two cached Ballarat until 1.45pm before finally heading for home.
Weekend tally of 1 event attended, 2 DNFs and 58 cache finds
We enjoyed a nice wander up and down the street while taking copious pictures and measurements.
With no ruler handy, the Brisal5 size 11 footwear became our guide to size
Definitely enjoyed these earthcaches here even if they do have more questions than most to answer

Found with Snap Happy while staying for a few days in Clunes...It seems that the frequent flier points are building up pretty quick ATM with two trips to Vic in as many weeks. Loved this walk on yet another cold Ballarat day. will send the answers through to the Co on behalf of myself and Snap Happy.
Thanks McAdies for placing and maintaining this cache.

This had been on my 'To Do List' for far too long...
Whilst Tomboy was in town for my 50th, we ventured out and grabbed the required information as we 'tourist-ed' our way to the WPT's and other sights around this beautiful city...
Thanks for the Earthcache McAdies. They are always well thought out and informative...

An enjoyable way to spend an hour walking through Ballarat, which was just as well as I ended up doing it twice due to bad planning (with a Wherigo following the same path done afterwards...) but it did allow me to gather more data from the stone I missed the first time. Don't forget to look at the architecture each side too - there are some wonderful buildings along Sturt Street.
Answers submitted and approved by the COs - thanks!

Because of the heat during the day, we left attempting this cache until after tea. In the relative cool of the evening, it was a very pleasant and informative stroll down Sturt Street, collecting information as we went. The cache highlighted the variety of different granites. Answers to the questions were forwarded to the CO and permission to log has been received. Thanks McAdies for another interesting Earthcache.
I didn't plan my Sturt St experience very well. First afternoon I found a couple of traditionals. Next day, I did the monstrous earthcache and then I returned to trek to some sculptures yet again. My favourite part of Sturt St is the reindeers...I love them when they're lit up. Thanks for the cache; photos attached.
I've been meaning to do this cache for a while now. Interestingly, I've done the whereigo along here and didn't think to do this at the same time . I enjoyed looking at the statues with a new perspective and learning a few new things along the way. The answers were gathered and emailed to the CO who responded with the green light to log. I now know what a Xenolith Intrusion is and will probably look out for them on statues from now on. Thanks for an enjoyable Earthcache McAdies.
An interesting tour down one of the main roads in Ballarat highlighting all of the statues. I learnt a bit about the statues and the rock they were constructed from. Answers have been sent so hopefully everything is ok for logging. Thanks for the cache McAdies.
Mission complete, education ongoing, thanks to McAdies for compiling these activities and a favorite from me.
I had to drive my son to Ballarat tonight to compete in the Victorian State Band Championships so I decided to try this earthcache while I was filling in time before our drive back home to Melbourne.
I had a lovely, leisurely walk on a pleasant winter's night exploring the statues and their granite.
Taking photos and making notes at night is not easy but I enjoyed the experience.
I am sure that my family will be thrilled with the extra information that I will be able to provide next time we see statue.
Thank you for providing me with a fun activity tonight.

Staying a few days in Ballarat on our tour of Australia using Geocaching as a guide.
Isn't this game SO FABULOUS! It takes us to places of interest in so many towns. We have met many people over our few years who we are proud to call friends just through this crazy game!
Cachers usually have a common interest to show off your home town and the many places you would like people to visit. So today we explored Ballarat using Geocaching.
Keep on having FUN with Geocaching. Just what Geocaching is worldwide to 2.6+million people so they can't be wrong! So keep at it full steam ahead guys!
We managed to collect lots of info for your cache today whilst also completing the nearby whereigo. Sunday is a good day to tackle this lot. Email sent with our answers.... and logged with permission. [^]
Thanks for feeding our GeoAddiction. Our day was not without some worry moments. We were nearly stuck in a ditch in the GeoCruiser which would have been very embarassing and also very cold! ( almost out of petrol too)

On holiday from Adelaide and today was the only full day of caching before heading further east to the ski fields. Rain didn't help with the cache but thoroughly enjoyed getting my inner geologist out! TFTC
P.S. I found out the hard way that it pays to start the nearby Wherigo first as they may just overlap slightly

I thoroughly enjoyed my wander up Sturt Street looking at the many statues that adorn the median parkland. The bases of statues are usually ignored so it was a real eye opener to study that part of these examples I had realised previously that granite had many variations but had never looked quite so closely. this is only my second earth cache and enjoyed it immensely. it been nearly 40 years since I attended geology @ uni. this brought back many great memories

I headed up the highway from Geelong to spend the afternoon caching before attending the Anzac Day dinner event and this was my first stop (after a coffee) as the Anzac Day commemorations were being packed up nearby.
As the tidy-upperers did their thing, I took a discreet wander past the necessary installations and acquired the information needed to answer some questions and added a little to my geological knowledge as well as my familiarity with some of Ballarat's fine artworks!
Thanks McAdies for showing me these great pieces of art !

First EarthCache for ZombieCats. Interesting to learn about the statues around Ballarat and also the rock formations that have gone into making them. The sort of thing that generally you don't think about.

I really enjoyed my walk down Sturt Street today. I was up bright and early in anticipation of a big day in Daylesford so I took the opportunity to get your earthcache so I could get the IED souvenir. Took my clipboard and ruler and off I went, it was great to see so many different types of granite in a small area, some very nice colours as well. I'm not sure why I had not done this cache before but it turned out to be a stoke of luck for me, or I would have had to travel some distance for the next closest to me.
Thanks for the great EarthCache guys.

Found on a day trip to Ballarat with the Geo-grand-kids, armed with GPS, Clipboard and tape measure, soon had the Geo-grand-kids measuring and noting the different aspects of each leg of this journey. It was a little overcast but the rain held off so turned out to be a nice day for a stroll.
Thanks to McAdies for this Earthcache wander, would never have thought about looking at the statues, most of our trips we look only at the architecture of the buildings and overlook statues and their bases.

We found your earthcache Sturt Street Granite Wander as part of our goal to fill the calender, with this find another day is filled on 16/08/2014 5:31 pm. And also means we attain a souvenir for the 7 souvenirs of August. This is our find #3940 and find #1 today.
Nice walk down Sturt St although I was so cold! We enjoyed the well explained and informative earthcache. Thanks for all the work you have put into it.

Lovely little lunchtime walk where I not only learnt more about basalt and granite, but also about the statues in our town. I walk past these weekly but have never taken the time to individually look so thanks for making me!
Went for a wander along Sturt Street and found out a bit about granite, basalt and xenoliths. Very interesting! See email for cache Q&As. TFTC McAdies.
Another of the interesting urban type EarthCaches examining the different types of rock on display amongst the main street. Had a good walk down the parade and of course being Anzac Day eve they were setting up a few things along here. It was good to see all the different types on display and even some Hawkesbury Sandstone which is much more familar to me. TFTEC!
Wandered and collected info. There was some rock licking. Not much. Just a little.

Discovered I learned a lot here. Was about 20mins to complete the info needed & read the other info available.
Thanks for bringing me through to visit these statues. Sometimes we need to slow & smell the roses & earthcaches allow us to do this Also this is why I love geocaching as I probably wouldn't have wandered through the middle of Sturt Street in the rain wearing my wifes rain jacket complete with fluffy trims as I couldn't reach mine quick enough when I left the car lol. I'm sure I few people would have thought "What's that idiot doing" Geocaching

After school this afternoon, on a beautiful day, we had fun doing this Earthcache with Motndarg, Rehfisch Clan, Glanville Girls, Beckster22, $doo and Tomstache. The kids were really helpful with the questions, Motndarg have a photo of us all attached to the log. We had a nice stroll along Sturt Street and then enjoyed afternoon tea. Thanks McAdies for an informative Earthcache.
Great afternoon to complete our first Earth cache with friends - Motndarg, McLookers, Glanville Girls, Beckster22, $doo and Tomstache. The kids had fun looking at all the statues that we take for granted when we drive by everyday. Thanks McAdies.

Caching today with Geoing friends of all different ages. The day was perfect for the wander to find the cache answers. This was a first for me as I have not stopped to read about these memorials before. Thanks to McAdies for bringing me to here. This deserves a favourite for their effort.
