### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUIRED?** ###
----------
A basic tenet of geocaching is that the cache log needs to be signed to record a find, as per [**here.**](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#logging ) At the moment it would seem to be somewhat difficult to meet that requirement in regard to this cache.
Prompt attention by cache owners to any log that indicates anything could be amiss is greatly appreciated by all seekers. The guideline advises; *"if you can't check/fix it straight away then Disable it till you can."* see [**here.**](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#cachemaintenance)
Any maintenance arrangements should be proactive, not reactive. This means that you cannot rely on or expect passing seekers to fix issues or replace a missing cache.
Please respond to this situation by **5th January** to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness. If you require more time, please be sure to post a "Write Note" log (not an email) explaining the situation and indicating an actual date when you believe the situation will be resolved.
**And don't forget,** once you have addressed the issue, post both an "Owner Maintenance" log, see here; [**Removing the Needs Maintenance Icon**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) and an "Enable Listing" log, see here; [**Temporarily Disable and Enable**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ) to get your cache up and running again.

There are a few ways to approach this cache and we thought we'd try the dry way first. Being tall and flexible helped as well as having another person as a lookout. Trickiest part was balancing while signing the log! Glad we didn't have to search too deep in our soul for this one. TFTC
I could not believe Mr S even attempting to get this cache - I was surprised he didn't fall into the water but he grabbed it and it was a cause of much hilarity for all who witnessed it. TFTC.
Saw the terrain rating and thought why not. Then read the clue and hesitated a bit. It's been really wet and it's 4°C and there's muggles everywhere. But we brought our flexible monkey and fortunately I was strong enough to hoist him back on deck. Hilarious.
I had previously come to find this one on a sunny day in March. Lots of muggles out and about meant that I couldn’t make a stealthy retrieval. Today I had different problems. There were no muggles around but it was raining and cold. However I didn’t really want to make a third trip back here. So I jumped in clothes and all and made a quick retrieval. Teeth chattering and shaking I made the walk back to car dripping wet and laughing at my own stupidity. Feet get hella muddy, car heater was welcome but next to useful in thawing me out. Took a nice long shower two hours later at home to do that! Thanks for the adventure haha!
I have been wanting to turn this into a smiley since we started caching a year ago.
Today was the day loaded the yaks on the car and headed out for a paddle. Geokid had the ability to stand up in her yak without taking a splash so she stood up and retrieved the prize.
Thanks for a great spot and even in the passing drizzly rain we had a lovely paddle.

Arrived at GZ and after assessing all angles I laid my eyes on the prize, But how to get it? Do I need Scuba? Do I need ropes? Or do I put on the monkey suit? I went for the Monkey suit. Didn't even get the fur wet. Nice challenge, and lucky no muggles to worry about. Great place to visit. With the amount of favorite points this cache helps with the current souvenir challenge.
Thanks **stooy**

Having just spent a few hours at a Lavender Festival north of Daylesford, we decided to take the road less travelled back to Daylesford, detouring along the way collecting caches. Now that we're back in Daylesford we continued our success with another difficult cache. Knowing were it is and retrieving it are two very different things as Kat found out. Once the coast was clear I did the retrieval while Kat documented our visit although she did leave me hanging around while she got a photo of the interested ducks. TNLNSL. TFTC. KKams

ZQX and I returned to Canberra after the Parkville Event via Ballarat, targeting counties and high DT caches. This one proved a physical challenge, but we got there in the end. Another county ticked off. TFTC.

The cache name describes the state in which I was while trying to retrieve this cache. At GZ I had the right idea but the wrong location. At least I could see the cache from where I was perched. TikvaNZ mirrored my descent and made the find.
I found that I could not get up the way I came, so had to take a more H2O-ful path out of purgatory.
Thx for the cache!

Got it , with the help of two passer by folk from Adelaide. They were much more agile than us twp octagerians.. We left them with a sincere inquisitive interest in the art of geocaching.
What a challenge. TFTC.

Get out of jail card is in play, we have taken two weeks off from the farm. Mini tour from Porepunkah to where-ever and back catching some caches on the way
Day 12 - Creswick Regional Park to Mt Franklin Crater
We left camp just before 10.00 am, and had arranged to meet muggle son from Melbourne in Daylesford at midday. He couldn't understand why we left so early. I just told him not to be late! Well, he was late, so, how did we fill in the time? WE walked around the lake, Caching of course.....we missed the first cache, as it was to steep for my bad knees, but kept walking to Purgatory.
Arriving there, Mr d performed some contortion, he could see but not reach without getting wet. We had left our boat and monkeys at the caravan on the other side of the lake. Never mind, we had a lovely walk while waiting for the muggleboy. Thanks stooy

What an effort!! My wife a photo of a fully grown man hanging around!!! Good luck. TFTC
Tftc. No boat required just super flexible legs and some guts!! Luckily no muggles around
I woke up and saw that a new cache had already been published
Hang on, I'm getting a decided case of deja vu here [?] This can't be right as I was only there doing a multi 3 days ago[?]
This one was a much harder decision though as I'd already spent my already borrowed fuel money 3 days ago but since it's now a new month.... well suffice to say I borrowed MORE fuel money Rex and I went out for a drive [^]
My multi cache blues are sadly still alive and well as it took me about 3 workings out to get a decent looking GZ at the 1st cache of the day
After getting the 1st cache find at 10.38am (FTF too ) we then cached on until the last cache find at 10.43pm and arrived home at midnight after finding 10 caches for the day [^] No idea who was the most tired [|)]: Rex or me[?]

Came here once before in the pouring rain. We had pondered our fate and decided to come back another day. This time we thought it was achievable. We clambered our down and the cache was handed up. Once it was signed, it was handed back down and replaced. After a bit more clambering, we were one find richer and back on dry land. Nice hide. TFTC
Luckily we did not need to get our feet wet
Some climbing did the trick

We are from Alaska. No boat or no monkey but we could look over and see the cable but nothing attached.
Found out and about for a Sunday stroll in Daylesford. Misinterpreted the dept...not to bad afterwards I'm the Aussie sun...such a cache at home would equal mild hypothermia...TFTC
Lucky I’ve got long legs, though I felt like the troll as some billy goats gruff passed by while I was secretly signing the (full) log
We were determined to have a crack at this one today. After having a few cache stops along the way we made it here eventually!!

Came here with the gang today with this cache in mind. Nice warm day so we thought we would brave the element. Looking at where we had to go the monkey of the team Sean.75 stripped down and swung from trees like Tarzan and had the prize in had. What a great cache worthy of a fav point. Tftc
Wow 3 visitors in one day to this cache. I was here about 10am having a nice paddle around the lakes here.
Tricky to put pack from the yak without falling in too.

We had a look for this one a while ago, well it was more a recon mission than anything, lol. Today we had planned on heading out here to see if we could make the find. We figured it was hot so it might be refreshing to go for a dip. tftc
After having a look at this cache a fair while ago, today was the day to go hard or go home. Getting to the cache I thought I was going to get extremely wet, but no, only wet feet. Fave point from me for the effort to get your cache. Log full. Tftc
Looked for this last weekend but as the bridge was full of fisherman we decided to come back at a later date, armed with a paddle boat. Success!!! Then suddenly realised we had forgotten the pen. Back to the paddle boat lady to ask for one and she clued onto what we were doing, as apparently we weren't the first to give the game away. Love it. Thank you so much.
After reading some of the other logs, we decided to have a bit of fun with it, and hired a paddle boat. Crikeys, they're hard work. Particularly when you let the toddler steer, then the straight line from A to B is not very straight at all! Anyway, eventually got there, and the cache was a quick find after that. Little bit wobbly leaning out of the boat, but we all stayed dry. Signed and replaced carefully. Thanks for giving me an excuse to try out these dinky little boats! We had a lovely paddle around after that.
Went for a meander around dale ford shops and the art displays caught our attention, so we looked at all the surrounding art shops in the area before deciding to go caching and have a look at the lake while we where at it )
Spotted this puppy after a pleasant walk and returned on a paddle boat to make a fun afternoon of it.

It's been there, waiting, and was finally achieved - with a little help from the younger generation! TFTC
The kids took there Christmas present out for a paddle to collect this smiley for me
No boat or water involved, but a fair deal of contorsions, gymnastics & blind faith ! Thanks for a well considered & challenging cache Stooy. (Not shore if the cache was supposed to be as accessible from Earth, but replaced it where found).
Well we found it but took acouple of minutes to decide what to do. I did bring some good rope. There was a to many muggles around so we chose to hire a paddle boat, which turned into a great 1/2 hour on the lake and of course we filled in the log. Tanks Stooy.
I was excited by this cache. But by the time I got here it was a bit cold. I did look over into the abyss and thought about jumping but no maybe next time.
Lucky I pre-read this cache as I Made MontsII throw the kayak on the roof before leaving home this morning. We are just on a quick trip and I get to find some geocaches while MontsII visits a friend for a couple of hours. Anyway, I launched my kayak with ease and then quickly padded to the structure in question, only to scare a bird who was nesting in the corner. Or perhaps the bird scared me. Either way. I soon saw the cache, but it wasn't quite in my reach from upon the kayak. So I had to sort of shuffle myself to sitting cross legged for extra height. I soon had a whole heap of bird poo in hand, along with the cache. I signed the log, and then re-shuffled so I was tall enough to replace the container. TFTC stooy
We came, we saw, we contemplated every possible retrieval method but too many muggles meant we did not conquer.
Came to Daylesford for a week end break and thought we would do a spot of caching as we went. Had a go at 4 various caches and didn't find any of them!! Partly because two of the tracks were shut because of slips or flood damage. Looked for quite a while here, but now that I read the logs I see that we never would have found it anyway on a cold & frosty morning. TFTC. Still had a lovely walk.
Considering it was -2 degrees this morning....I still stripped off my shoes and socks and tried to wade in.... but the fear of having wet clothes for the trip home stopped me. With the senior geoteen egging me on and the junior geoteen telling me to stop.... I happily retreated with no sensation in my feet! Gladly waiting for the warmer weather!
Well that was a fun one had my 15yo brother brave the cold for it. Needless to say i'm not his friend anymore!
Left pen in the car but was able to find it with some careful climbing. Someone needs to do some cobwebbing

The geo wife and I were geo kiddie free so we had planned a trip up to the Macedon Ranges and Hepburn Springs areas. We left after packing a few supplies and were on the road early. It was a little overcast first thing but it turned into a beautiful day to be out exploring. One last stop had us at the lake for a quick walk. We parked at the top of the hill and walked down. I didn't really have what was needed here but I had the encouragement of my geo wife who ended up just laughing. I stripped down when no muggles were coming our way and went in my underwear. The trip to the cache was not as cold as i thought it would be. I gathered myself from the water and watching out for spiders who look like this is their meeting area, I was able to make the find. A quick change back into some dry clothing I had and no one was the wiser. Stamped and replaced as found.
**Thanks for placing this trad cache stooy**
**Cache container and log in good order**

First sighted this cache back in early August. Today we came equipped with the right gear to finally claim a smilie for this cache.
Would never have thought of buying a kayak before but geocaching has opened up a whole new level of activities to our family.
Tftc. Favorite point too, was a cracker of a day. Well, it was until we went up the hill to find Slippery Slope (GC3RB1A) but that's another story!

Find #1166 for me. Today I was at Lake Daylesford with the Bendigo Indonesian Club for a picnic. Being on the Club Committee, I'd suggested a picnic at Lake Daylesford for our November meeting. While the presence of a cache here did, admittedly, play a part in this suggestion, Lake Daylesford is truly a great picnic destination, complete with undercover BBQs, playground for the kids, and nearby paddle-boats for fun out on the water. Today it wasn't raining, nor was it hot, but with perfect weather we did have to share the location with many others and finding a spare bay in the carpark proved challenging.
Now onto the cache itself. I'd spotted this one back in May this year but wasn't sure how I was going to retrieve it. It was a recent log that gave me the hint that I needed to make this one a little easier for me. So out I went on the lake with my 9yo to grab the cache. It took a little longer than first intended as it had moved slightly from where I'd seen it previously, but it wasn't long before I spotted it and was pleased to see a new log-sheet had been placed here recently, so nice and dry with lots of room to add my name. I returned the cache to the place I found it today.
Thanks for bringing me to Purgatory today Stooy, and thanks for the adventure, the tour of the lake with my son and the cache!

Found at 3:31 PM GAFF2.
Last cache for the day and last cache of the area before we head back to Melbourne, so we wanted to do a memorable one and this looked like it could be it!
When we arrived at GZ we were looking for something "suspended", but could not see anything. Then from a particular angle we saw something attached that looked promising, so p-pprass quickly said - "I can do that"!
Off he goes and grabs the cache in a few seconds, but then trying to get up again was a real struggle. When he eventually did get back up a couple of jogging muggles stopped to see what all the fuss was - so we had a good chat and told them about geocaching.
Thanks stooy.

Easy to spot, had to wait for a few muggles to pass, then persuaded the muggle gf that it was safe! Had no pen though. Enjoyed the cache and the walk around the lake! Tftc
Gave the core muscles a workout getting this one. Caches like this is the reason i do geocaching.
Really fun thanks for placing the cache

When I saw this one I knew I had to get it. Despite the obvious obstacles- including two geokids and a very reluctant muggle husband. WE DID IT. A glorious day out in Daylesford. Thanks to the relatively nearby floating transport devices that we were able to rent, we headed straight to GZ. Bam. A fav. Tftc
What a cache!
I arrived with my loyal geo-partner Kittylove16 absolutely determined to get cache in hand despite the rating and failed log entries.
With nowhere left to turn, Kittylove16 did the courageous thing and waded out to it. Probably not recommended as half way through the retrieval, muggles walked past and she had to wait quietly hanging in purgatory until they had walked past (unaware of the cacher below).
She waited even longer in purgatory for me to sign the log on behalf of us both and hand it back.
Log was then placed back in its perpetual destiny.
Great adventure and great cache!

I spotted this one Tuesday afternoon but didn't have the time or inclination to try and grab it. Thinking about it for the last couple of days I decided to give it a go before we had to head back home to Portland and climbed down to make the grab...only I climbed down the wrong leg. Time to see if I could get back without taking a swim. Puffing and panting for a while I eventually had another go and climbed down the correct leg this time and grabbed the cache, praying that neither me, my pen or the cache fell in the water, while delicately balancing on the thin rail with no spare hands to help balance me.
The log is very full and needs replacing.
Thanks for a very physically and mentally challenging cache, A FP from me.

This cache has been a thorn in our side for a very long time now due to the fact our last caching trip in the area had our geomonkey on crutches with absolutely no chance of retrieving the log holder. Not today though! With the assistance of DAB we soon had our greedy mitts on the prize and just managed to fit our names onto the very full logbook.
Thanks stooy for the great challenge.
Thanks stooy for the great challenge.
Today I joined up with The_Tritonz, for a joint assault on a few caches. This hide had been bugging us for quite a while, so we were determined to put this one to rest. Not having any watercraft handy, we had to improvise. The idea of submerging ourselves into the frigid waters didn't appeal to us, so we had to get creative. With a bit of fancy maneuvering from Chris, the log was soon passed up to me to be signed. We were so glad to finally claim a smiley face here. The log is full and the paper was pretty damp, but we managed to squeeze our names in there !! TFTC stooy
We came m, we saw, we checked the water depth, we made an assessment. Maybe another time!
It's Not that i didnt find it... just couldnt retrieve it. It was tantalizingly close, but no smiley today.
Nice day for a walk to observe a cache that's just out of reach...oh the frustration! Have to come back with a geoaquamobile when the weather warms up. Tftc anyway.
So found it, was about to ponder retrieval ideas when geokid fell in the lake...
Might come back another day

Todays adventures involved visiting the Ballarat region. The trio of myself, Ausfox! and Bentley set off to chase some caches. The weather held off and worked out for a great day! Thanks Ballarat for providing a great series of quality caches, puzzles and DT!
Arriving in Daylesford, I set about getting this cache, while Ausfox minded the poodle. A couple said 'be careful, your partner might fall in'. Well. That's assuming now isn't it! Another type of cache I love - just to think t could have been another boring trad under the bridge.
I have found myself looking over Stooys hides - I enjoy Stooy's hides, and need to start targeting more of his - always good. Fun. Stooy s good for this spot, I wander if he is still in it.
Cheers and TFTC

Located but not sufficiently agile to retrieve without watercraft. Will have to wait for another day.
Found it and made a good attempt to retrieve it. Managed to move it but it held on to its location despite my nifty cache tool
Mmmmm which of the suggested methods should we use. Well the first would involve a trip around the lake, and the third we didn't fancy. Fortunately Mr SG falls into the second category. His daughter says he shouldn't be doing this as he's a grandad and a pensioner to boot, but hey she's half way around the world and he's a bit forgetful of what he should and shouldn't do!
First we waited for some muggles to vacate the area and then it was a quick recce to locate the little varmint. After that it was a quick move to retrieve it, pass it to Mrs SG to sign and then replace it before regaining terra firma. Don't you just love it when a plan comes together. TF

Found this tricky cache but had no boat and this monkey is a bit old to be swinging down there, also a little cold for the plunge. Will return better prepared at a later date.
