DNF After sliding down to the bottom of the sand bank, we looked under every paperbark tree at GZ, sad to say we didn’t find the cache but we found two owls just above us (see pic).
Possibly this GC is a victim of the floods??

Got down there, but coming from Darwin there’s no way I’m getting that close to possible crocs in a dark murky river
Logging late but found on the 16th, doesn’t this say it’s wheelchair accessible?!
Visiting from Scotland, rather dodgy trying to get up and down the hill here and I’ve been advised that going rambling into the bush like that isn’t the best idea.
Decided to go for it anyways, found the spot but it was super crammed in under the tree, didn’t want to get my hand in there so tried with sticks but everything was too dry and kept snapping. Eventually gave in and went in with my hand, had to literally rip the box from the wee roots that had formed around it especially blocking one clip side.
Log was very soggy, signed for Catie and I and replaced but think it requires some maintenance or at least rewriting the info

Didn’t find this one today, Council has mowed the lawn recently, even so, we couldn’t access it.
Our second find on the same day. Unfortunately, we forgot our pen so didn't sign the log.
An unloved cache in town that was waiting for a find.
Left a piece of what should hopefully be waterproof paper.
Thanks for the cache

Out and about for our daily fix of geocaching and continue our streak. Decided on this side of the river today. Will have to be a drive/walk. Grass too long, might be snakes

Out for a ride last night at 1030pm to make a quick find in my attempt to find a cache on everyday of my caching calendar. Another one down only 166 to go . Thank Champs2Monkeys for placing, Log book is almost pulp so I used some paperbark to mark my visit. Next time I ride by I will drop off a new log.
It was getting dark and I got a few webs in the face.. But was easy to locate at the gz.
Mr beetle wouldn't go down and get this one. He wanted to give it a miss but I didn't want to miss any so down the steep slope I went. Cache was quickly located but the log book was a sodden mess. Scratched B2 in there but this one needs some serious TLC. Thanks.
Not sure which track I was suppose to be on here, but soon worked that out and then had the cache in hand. As others have said, the log is wet and can't be written on, so will probably need a visit form the cacher who is maintaining the series. Photo of the cache attached.
Thanks again C2M....

Found while doing the RRPT. Cache was very wet and log couldn't be signed (sticker left). Needs some tlc.
On a two day road trip to Townsville and return from Mackay.
Saw some very interesting and intriguing caches on my journey.
Sorry for the cut and paste logs but many caches were found.
Thanks to all CO's for hiding such a wide variety of caches.

Found at 1703. An easy find although the cache was full of water and the log book soaked.. TFTC.
out for a morning walk while in town for work. Tried to find as many on the trail as possible. Due to the muggles I had to do them in a strange order. Thanks for placing these too wet to sign this time
Out caching along the Ross River today. Quick find. SL. TNLN. Thanks for the cache hide Champs2Monkeys.
Let me paint you a picture...
It's early spring. A warm breeze blows through the paper barks. And Mrs Smartypints looks on in trepidation as her fearless adventurer; armed with only his trusty going out thongs, slides down an embankment with the tenacity of Bear Grylls and the grace of Charie Sheen at the tail end of a 7 day bender.
Valiantly he searched for fifteen minutes, digging through leaf litter, skirting the banks of the river and kicking up dust but to no avail. With failure looming for the Smartypints team, Mrs Smartypints found a smoother way down the bank, reaching the rivers edge with the elegance of Grace Kelly...
Oh hell with the picture. We searched through litter and among the tree roots for several minutes as per the hint before realising it had been raised up in earlier activities. Once looking at the right height we found it easily before returning it to a place that means the hint will make sense.

Amazing it's still there, but not complaining at all! Toughest thing was the bank.
Genyo and I headed to GZ early in the morning. After a quick walk we found ourselves in an appropriate area and began the hunt. Before long we had the cache in hand. TFTC!
Arrived at GZ and decided we would have to go for it! With a bit of slipping and sliding we got the GZ. . Within moments the cache was spotted! Lovely little location. nice find on this lovely caching morning! TFTC

8:55:00 AM. We set out today for numbers. We bought our bikes and it turns out the weather is perfect for a ride and caching. Heading west and pulled up. Looked for tracks and in the end down I went. An easy find and signed log. Took me longer to get back up to the better half who was minding the bikes. Thanks Champs2Monkeys for placing this cache.
Tried to look around. Dug about and then read that a previous cacher had raised it up, but could not see anything. I am sure it is still there, I just gave up and moved on to the next one.
Found it!!! Thhe river was a bit high, so we thought it had been taken by the water, but my friend found it!

Didn't see the frog mouths. Be wary of the cache guardians - if you squash these guys they swarm!

It took a little while for both of us to find the old cache. Having said that, it was in a very good spot but not in the roots as the hint says - it was a little higher up. As this spot will protect it better from rising river levels, this spot is where we put it back. A little less scary for the leaf litter critters too perhaps! TFTC
Started down the slope a tiny bit then got scared and noped right out haha. Maybe another day. Dnf.
Second time round had geo eyes on!
How could I have missed it! Hmm
Too busy looking down & around for spiders/creepy crawlies! Lol

This one can be elusive. There is an old log about it being soaking wet but none of the recent finds have mentioned it. Might be worth checking.

We DNF'd 1 caches today. [:(!]
[red]We spent quite some time here at around 12:39:00 PM, but got so covered in green ants that we we couldn't be bothered to locate your cache, so a DNF from us - - - not stating it's not there... just that we couldn't spot it.

Fount the cache but was unable/ unwilling to sign the log as I had been attacked by the dreaded green ass ants (again). nice hide and lovely spot.
Today I undertook a personal challenge to find 24 caches in 24 hours in and around the Townsville and Ingham area. On such a lovely spring day I was lucky enough to find not only 24 caches but to explore this lovely part of Australia. I would like to mention the abundant wild life including wallabies, butterflies (too many varieties to mention), dragon flies, crocodiles, kangaroos, some kind of ant and I will call a green ass ant (they seem to swarm all over you and bite, not hard or with any venom but the numbers WOW or should I say WOE), dogs and an interesting creature I will call a “North Queenslander”. Many thanks to you guys sometimes pointing me in the right direction but most of all for being good guys.

Champs2Monkeys are heading south, and as such can not maintain this cache.
^dventurers has kindly offered to maintain this cache on our behalf. C+2M are very appreciative for her help and will maintain a supply of replacement caches and stores.
Those that have contacted us to also offer help, I thank you for the offer, but ^dventurers beat you to it. I passed your names to ^dventurers and she will reach out to you if she needs assistance in maintaining this cache.
To all the Townsville Cachers, thank you for the hunt, and if you’re in the ACT, look us up.

Between showers raced down to find this one. Had to wait five minutes for GPS to steady then check a couple of places to find the cache. Water in the bag and a soaking log. Still managed to sign. TFTC
Log is soaking and water in container which I tipped out sorry no dry log with me today.
Well, then! This has been one of those caches for us! Two DNFs had led to a conversation with on of the 2N's and statement of "Well if you find it I'm going to blow you a raspberry"!

A phone call received this afternoon and a "Found it!" left us a little
The description given had us thinking we had been looking right at it and so it proved when we arrived back at GZ this afternoon. Hell we think geoD was standing on it at one point! Sometimes you just don't have your caching eyes on!
The cache is completely water logged and is in need of some CO TLC!

The number of little red spanners on our caches is growing.
Work has been crazy busy, but I guess we really need to go out and mend/check a few of these.

Our second attempt on this cache was again unsuccessful. We were time limited as we had an appointment to go to. We did spend about 10mins searching and searching to no avail. This is turning into one of those caches for us.
Can the CO confirm that it is still in place for us before we head back there for another go?

The race that stops a notaion was over and all that remained to do was the race home. The route home today saw this as the first unfound cache adn we stopped in to search. No GPS with us today so we relied on the iPphone and geoP went first with the iphone still safely ensconced in it's bike case. GeoD remained with the geoTreadleys and watched as geoP went back and forth below. Soon enough she admitted defeat adn it was teams change as geoD went down for a search. Even with the iPhone removed from it's case in the hope of better reception we were unable to loacte a cache. We resorted to the hint ans searched everywhere that matched with no luck.
We will be back
We will be back
Well I successfully made that way harder than it needed to be but I got there in the end. TFTC
Yep, sure is a steep slope so be careful....saw no owls but found a cache instead
Find number 17 of 39 on our cityside RRPT caching day! 41.6km over 7 hours. Many thanks to ICP for lending us their bikes [^].
Another one that Loki got sent in for. Didn't spot the frogmount but did find the cache after a short hunt [^]. Slippery scramble but didn't bump into any slithery things thankfully .
Thanks Champs2Monkeys

Caching with the Sommervilles it was T's turn for retrieval but after spying out the terrain sent the more nimble members after the prize.
North Qld 2013. Day 9 was my first full day in Townsville and today was the day to hit the Ross River Power trail. After fixing my bike up, I set out and visited a large range of caches along the river. It was a good range of caches some easy, some hard. I did not do them all but enjoyed everything I managed. . Thanks.

Our first day in Townsville and this trail has taken us on a lovely walk we probably wouldn't have done otherwise. Definitely not one for the wheel bound, but a heck of an adventure! TFTC
Found with Gonefishen07, pprass and The Drovers. pprass and I sent Gonefishen07 and The Drovers off to retrieve this one after a short search they appeared triumphant. TFTC SL
Found with Hearse068, pprass and The Drovers. Myself and The Drovers volunteered to go down and get this one with pprass and Hearse068 overlooking what we were up to. I finally made a find yay. It was great to be able to do a few caches in the area before having to leave. Thanks pprass for being chauffeur for Hearse068 and myself as we tagged along for some of these caches. We ended up having to leave these guys to do what we had flown up here to do the night before, which was look and test drive a motorhome and if suitable then drive it back to near Phillip Island in Vic. Which is what we did we ended up calling ourselves Thelma and Louise on out trip back and yep the motorhome well it has a name to Brad Pitts. TFTC Champs2Monkeys
