Out on a winters day and driving through the area we saw some caches on our map but after arriving at GZ our search wound up ending in a DNF. Thanks highrod for bringing us here and we will return another day to claim the smiley

("\(0o0)/") No luck today, we'll have to have another crack at it next time.

After getting frustrated in town with 5 DNFs, we decided to head out in to the country where you're more likely to find interesting places, not just series with no real point to them apart from numbers. This one proved our point, with an interesting history lesson about this small town. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here.
Thought we would try to find this one as we were in the area to visit friends, Great history and information about the area, geokid located this one. TFTC
Dog sitting duties this weekend so decided to clear up a few caches that I have been meaning to do for quite some time and let Tess have a few walks in the bush as I slowly creep towards the next milestone. I love travelling these backroads as you never know where you will end up and what you will see. Thankfully this was a quick driveby today as the wind was blowing a gale and the wind chill factor must have been minus3. LOL. A shame all these small stations had to go. Thanks for the history highrod
Found on a sunny afternoon in the way back to Ballarat at the end of a photo taking expedition, thanks for placing a quick drive by at this hidden little historic area

Coming to the Pi event today. I don't know why the GPS sent me this way but i found this cache as a result of that. It was a quick drive by for me and a late arrival at the event. that's was alright though because i had a chance to catch up with lots of people and discussmy silly way of getting to Bunninyong.

The name says it all, we left the car running and jumped out to make the quick grab. Paused long enough to read the signs and find out a bit about the local area. tftc
Find # 2032 @ 0956 H
Heading off to Ballan for the days event, I decided to go to an area out of Ballarat that I haven't visited before.
Seeing that the Road Nationals Bike race was in Buninyong, I had to keep an eye over my shoulder as there was quite a lot of traffic going past and also quite a few peddle pushers.
normally you don't see "quick drive by" and "Micro" on the same page, but this one was just that.
Thanks for the history lesson and TFTC highrod

Found this one before school today. Easy find. Interesting information. Thanks highrod.
An early start for us this morning saw us very glad for this drive by. It is great to see this historic information about a community and an area. So hard to imagine when you look around today. Thanks highrod. Caching with Tomstache this morning.
Geodad had a job out this way. Will definitely go back with the whole clan. TFTC
We'll this cache certainly lived up to its name !! Log was damp, but signing was no problem. TFTC highrod.
We enjoyed reading about the history of the area and how much larger it had once been. We were picturing where the various buildings had once been.
The description said that it would be nothing too hard, and we were pleased when it turned out to be so .
Thanks to highrod for the cache.

Out adventuring this morning with gummiebear310, accounts and my two geokids (ages 3 & 5). Nice easy find when we read the clue. Love the old black and white railway signs. Thanks for bringing us here
Found by Mary & David at 1610. We do like caches with the kind of detailed historical information available here. Despite the howling gale, and temperature still in single figures, we read everything and enjoyed the photos too. A quick find. Our thanks to highrod.
Found on an afternoon out caching with geobuddy BJ. 17 finds, only 1 DNF and no lurking huntsman made for a good day out TNLN. Cache is in good condition. TFTC highrod
Found with Geobots and Oz_DKD
On a day out for Andrews Birthday.
The log book is full , so just added another piece of paper.

Cheers highrod, thanks for bringing me here.

A nice quick driveby on the way to Ballarat for a caching day with Bushfire. Thanks to highrod for bringing me here and the opportunity to learn about Yendon.
Quick drive by indeed. The time taken was in finding a place to sign the log. It's full! TFTC highrod.
Visiting my parents today and I decided to pop out with my muggle mother and grab a cache.
Only being 7km from their home this seemed to be the perfect candidate.
I haven't seen this little area before, it looks very well maintained and the information boards gave a good overview of the area's history.

Drawn to Ballarat by a New Year’s Resolution BBQ Lunch Event, posted for that quirky ‘Four-One-One–Four’ date, also gave us the opportunity to seek out a few of what for us are “orphan” caches, on the way to Lake Wendouree and later, on the way home. As is often the way with us - we came toward this cache from the wrong direction, however our name is safely in the log.
NOTE FOR CO: Log seems to be full - sorry we didn't have a replacement with us.
TNLN .. . . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt highrod.

The name of the cache describes it all, a quick drive by. thanks highrod for the cache
Well, we took the long way round to this one, then did a wander with the GPS before finally locating this cache. Interesting reading about Yendon of yesteryear. Found with Kinkell1 and TilleyTB. TFTC
Found with misschief18 and TilleyTB at the beginning of our weekend away in Elaine. My navigator took me the long way round after doing some u--turns! Finally found the cache and log signed. Log full....no room for more signatures. Sorry forgot to bring my spares. TFTC
And thank goodness it was a fairly simple drive by because the GPSr was being no help at all! Used some caching experience and had the prize in hand while the GPSr was still trying to make up its mind.
Thanks highrod for the cache and the history!

With the streak from August’s 31 days still continuing and our target of 60 days in sight, we had great conditions to head out and get our daily cache. We had previously done a trip in this general area, and somehow this one was not on our list. Again, this has taken us to an interesting rail location in the local area, with more history learnt. That was fixed today, with a quick find and a few minutes to take in the sunshine that had been lacking yesterday. After securing a few photos in the area, it was back to the Sunday chores.
Thanks for the cache highrod.
Thanks for the cache highrod.
Very interesting info on Yendon. We picked this one up after attending a nearby geocaching event earlier today. Thanks for the cache highrod.
Quick find on our way back to Ballarat after attending the a caching event for 31 days of August.
A nice quick find. Thanks for bringing us to this area. Didn't know this place existed.

Found in the middle of the freezing night...my numb fingers might have resulted in some very shaky handwriting.
Lived here for 10 years and found out so much more after reading about the local area. Good hide.
Driving the back roads to the rat to pick up Archmeister today. Takin the opportunity to grab some caches in areas I don't usually travel.
Good one highrod.
Cheers gordo

Just started geo caching realised some were close to home great to find out local info
A quick find indeed. A good location with lots of information. Thanks highrod.
Great information, but just a quick stop in the rain tonight to stretch the legs. Thanks
As the name suggests this was a quick drive by. Nice and easy. While I was filling in the log I noticed some good parts for a new cache lying about. I picked up about a dozen to try some prototyping in my shed when I get home. Watch this space. TFTC Highrod.
Everyone likes a quick driveby and we are no exceptions. pretty obvious where it would be. There was a fierce south wind this morning so it was good to get back into the car.
Thanks highrod
Thanks highrod
I started at one end, feathertop at the other and guess who found the cache
thanks highrod

Suscoe was heading home after a nice two day break in Ballarat with the rellies.
Had a great time, lots of fun and a few caches too!
This was our 11th and last find for today.
Lots of raod works in the main road area.
Parked and got this little chap with minimal fuss.
Log signed, admired the signs and on our way to the south.
Thanks to highrod for this cache and highlighting this local history.

Missed in the first sweep so proceeded to wander about aimlessly until I started re visiting the expected spots. Nice signs. Tftc
The ageing Bushfire like others are trying to fill in their 366 caching day calendar and I only have 20 more to grab so up to this area today to help with a few more smilies.
Started a bit late so it was 11.25 before the first cache was found in an area that I have passed before but never stopped.
Thanks to highrod for placing this cache.

Went off delivering our polystyrene speckled Easter Eggs. Cache in good order signed log unfortunately no room for Egg in cache. TFTC
Some interesting history here and yes, a quick find in a spot just made for it. Thanks to highrod for the cache.
We are trying to fill in our 366 day geocaching calender and saved this cache to fill in one of the February holes.
We headed out here after morning tea and found the cache easily. We had been saving this one for a Wednesday drive and today was lovely weather for it.
Thanks Highrod for the quick drive by.

Yep this one was a quick driveby though we came via Mt Buninyong so it was a nice drive out to it on a lovely Summer day.
Thanks to highrod for highlighting this place with lots of interesting information about Yendon.

A fun find by the railway line
Plenty of seating available most days
Today there was just me hanging around here and the cache was a nice easy find
Thanks for the cache and history !!
As for the Quick Driveby, I actually saw one happen
Before I could leave I noticed a van heading toward the nearby Give Way sign at rather a high speed [:o]
The driver went straight through the intersection at about 90km/h !!
There is no way he could have seen any traffic, due to the trees lining the roads.
As he passed by me, I could clearly see the phone to his ear
Didn't even notice he had gone through the intersection without looking !! [:o]
A few hundred metres later he realised he had missed his turn though, and did a "U-turn", drove back to the intersection, still on the phone, and turned right to resume his journey.
Scary stuff !!
Be careful out there people !! [:o]
