Another quick grab during a jog. Again, surprised it stays dry! Enjoying the track so far!
After our failure to find this two days ago, inspired by something we found in a previous log, we returned and made a completely different search, which eventually resulted in a find. We can confirm the cache is not hidden as per the hint. Don't waste time searching there. TFTC
Despite the recent check and replacement, a lengthy search around all the hint objects in the near vicinity was unsuccessful for us today. We note a previous log says the cache is not hidden in accordance with the hint. TFTC
A short Labour Weekend Wairarapa break for GB Leader and me. It's been 1,117 days since I recorded a DNF here, and never returned. It's pretty certain the cache was missing last time, as there were a few other DNF's recorded at that time (Sept 2020). And today, action replay! Again a DNF - the second since it was last found. Either the cache is NOT at the base of a tree, or once again it's been muggled. Like last time, I didn't continue down the trail. Will return again some time in the future in the hope of Third Time Lucky!
A day in the Wairarapa today beginning in Featherston, then onto Martinborough, over to Carterton and behind then down to Greytown for the night. 18 Ad labs, 22 trads, 22 mystery and 1 multi, 4 muggled out so didn't look and only one DNF.
This is the DNF. No luck on the way north and no luck on the return journey south.

I found this cache very quickly on my return journey on this trail. I failed to find it on my initial walk due to the nearby farmer moving his cows and frequently passing by just meters from GZ. By time I made it here to GZ on my return journey, the farmer was now nowhere to be seen, leaving me with plenty of time to search by myself. I managed to locate this cache very quickly. The logsheet was very wet but fortunately it was still signable. I quickly replaced the cache after signing the log and continued on my way.
Just one more cache to find on this trail now!

I am supposed to be tramping but weather is not playing ball, so I only went for a day walk. And spent the rest of the time mucking about the lower Wairarapa. I had been aiming to do this series, and the archived other half further up, for quite a while. Now's my chance.
Ruddy long walk back to the car after I had done both sets. And of course, it was at the start of the long walk back that it started raining...

A little hot walking between these caches today. Also a parade of cows were coming the other way on the adjacent road and when I stopped to searched for this cache they took a keen interest in what I was doing and caused a bit of a traffic jam. Whoops. I told a bit of a lie in an earlier log where I said I didn't use any more hints but I did here because it wasn't anywhere I was expecting. But the hint only told me to look where I already did. Turns out the cache was not hidden in accordance with the hint at all and I had to use cache sense to locate it after all. The cows seems indifferent to my success but I was pleased enough. TFTC.
Enjoying the power trail and the weather did hold off for us. Nice find. Cache is all good. TFTC
From Auckland and on a 7 weeks motor trip to the South Island to do all our outstanding parkruns.

Today is my last day of my time away from home. I'm driving from Masterton to the Ferry then on to Nelson. Time to find a few caches along the way. Having spent most of the last couple of days driving, it was nice to have a bit of a leg stretch on this walk. This one took me a little longer to find than it should have done. Perhaps I was taking the hint a bit too literally. TFTC, Biggles.
Fantastic extended caching weekend with evilC! We enjoyed the nice walk to the river, no one around. TFTC!!
A nice stroll along here this evening. Thanks for more smilies and for the exercise. Cheers
Visiting Masterton for a few days of work at the hospital. Fortunately it’s quiet so got time off to collect some local caches and explore Greytown again. Returned here for a nice walk and to turn two of our sad faces into smiley. Much better. Thanks for the recent maintenance.
Easy find with @peadub. Very hot today 33°C. Wondering if we have enough water to walk the track and back in the heat! Signed log and replaced where found. TFTC.
On a trip to the Wairarapa with Flowerydaze and doing some caches and this one was on the list. Thanks for the cache J'N'K
Spending a few days in the area with Talla64 and enjoying a great bike ride on this trail. Thank you for all the caches J 'N' K.
Just finished a week of work in Masterton and now have a few days free to collect some caches in the region. Was here on foot a few days ago but decided to return on my bike. No joy here finding this one.
Second DNF in a row. Only a lid to be found - see the pic. Too windy now, will return another time.
This was the third day of a trip with my Muggle wife down to Greytown. I got the entire day to do some Geocaching, so I headed for this trail to grab a few. The cache container is squashed. TFTC.

Mrs geodatum was very pleased to be able to join haydn.seek and PJMacNZ on a caching expedition to the Greytown area on this beautiful autumn day. We signed cache logs under a joint team name hamage, using two letters from each of our caching names.
It was a long day, hot and tiring at times, but we had a high success rate and pooling our various strengths worked well for all of us.
We enjoyed many of the caches but much of the river trail to Woodside was hard-going . Unfortunately the trail is apparently no longer being maintained and disappears altogether in many places under the rampant growth of grasses and weed - including blackberry and wandering willie - and access to some of the caches is now very difficult. A few seem to be missing.
After an early morning coffee and a few town caches, it was time to tackle the GTPT caches. The first part of the trail from Udy St to Kuratawhiti St is well maintained, it is after that that the terrain causes issues. It is disappointing however, that #6, disabled since last October has still not been attended to.
#1-#7, excluding #6, were all quick, straightforward finds. Paper was quite wet, but still signable. TFTC

Heading in the right direction now enjoying the walk - pretty brisk at this time of day but it looks as though its going to be a beautiful day once the sun is fully out. TFTC 12,810
