Found this a little while ago while having a weekend away for my birthday. Such a magic spot. My girlfriend managed to catch her first ever trout here as well, so all around a pretty special place. TFTFC

One of many found on our holiday through central and north Otago, Rincewind3 made most finds (his logs will contain most info - it's taken a while for me to log them). We hadn't been through here before. Looks like camping at Kinloch could be fun.

Found on holiday with Mum (Not Manly Jack) and Dad (Rincewind3). We ended up finding at least one cache every day.

I see what you mean about flooding. There was no flood today but there obviously has been recently, the ground is still very boggy. This was a chilly find at about 5 pm on a winter evening. It's been a brisk but enjoyable holiday so far.

Nice easy find

an easy find cache near what once was a spawning trout trap and counter.

I've always wanted to stop here, and now I have. I'll walk the track one day. Thanks.

I am logging this as being there on placement and three times for maintenance checks with dakotacats!! We saw three people fishing nearby but they didn't see us checking the cache.

I checked the container and yes all the paint has flaked off so I have replaced the container with a green painted Sistema snaplock. All good to go.

After camping in the ferocious wind at Kinloch I needed a cache to calm my nerves a bit. I wandered for a bit in the wrong direction whilst waiting for my gps to find my location then headed back to get the cache. It’s easily visible from a short distance so I covered it up a bit more with the available materials.

Lots of muggles - the fishing kind. Would be a nice a nice spot for a cool in the shade by the creek.

On the way home from the Routeburn. Got a friend that I meet on the track needing a left to Queenstown and she is on the hunt for this one and wanting to find out more about this hobby. We finished the Lake Sylvan walk, and it is only the early afternoon, so time for us to explore other places. We go to paradise, but on the way, we could not miss this one, whch was easy and quick. The place is very beautiful, but we won't take time today for the full walk. Anyway, thanks for the cache.


Nous avons maintenant terminé la randonnée du Lac Sylvan, et nous ne ommes qu'au début de l'après midi. Il est donc temps pour nous de voir un peu plus les environs. nous allons à Paradise, mais en chemin, nous ne pouvons pas louper cette cache. Elle fut rapide et facile. L'endroit est beau, mais nous ne ferons pas la balade complète aujourd'hui. Dans tous les cas, merci pour la cache.

Found this one during our month long campervan/"Road trip" vacation in New Zealand. It was a wonderful experience driving around this beaurtiful country.

We started off in the wrong place but soon spotted our mistake. The cache was a bit exposed so we tried to cover it a bit better.

Today I was out to discover the Glenorchy area. Would have loved to do the Little hike, but even the beginning was so wet ... Of course I made my way to the Cache regardingless!

Wet underfoot! Thought might have the cross the bridge..or whats left of it! Almost caught out by a muggle fisherman...

A quick easy find, and we managed to keep our feet dry despite the wet conditions underfoot. We were glad we didn’t need to cross the nearby bridge. TFTC

Easy to find, a little bit too muddy around the place. The scenery at this place, around Glenorchy, is so amazing! Definitely worth a visit!

We are currently on holiday down in Queenstown, visiting from Auckland. This afternoon we decided to drive out to Glenorchy. When we looked up nearby geocaches on our phone, we discovered a group of recently published caches around Glenorchy that weren’t on our GPS! A nice quick find here in a stunning part of NZ, thanks for the cache!

There were four new caches in the area, and we had already found three. Knowing there were other cachers in town, we thought we should slow down and give them a chance at FTF. Coffee stop at a leisurely pace - slow service! - and a drive around town - small town - we knew we had to find the cache before heading back for our lunch date!
Got to this cache site, and found a "mega" cache. First time we've seen one in use. Signed the log and did a visual inspection of the flow measuring site. Thanks for inviting us to this lovely spot.
