I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in a prior reviewer note.
Hi wascox
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Out hunting for caches in the evening. Stopped here briefly, but it appears that the structure supporting the cache has been removed. Phoned a previous finder to confirm position, but it looks like the cache has indeed gone.
I popped over the hill after work today with Matagouri, in order to chase a FTF (which we got) and afterwards we decided to look for a few more caches before grabbing some dinner.
This was one we tried for, but failed to find. It was dark, but in spite of that we searched well enough. This one definitely needs a maintenance check done on it...

Could not find and later came back with NZ_B. Ah - the road sign has been removed, which is why the cache is missing. Needs either a replacement along the fenceline or archive.
The netting cost only $2.50 to install?

With (Mr) Davidson Clan and Gap (of Fap and Gap)… On a boy’s weekend roadtrip south. We’re relocating down the road today. So our base camp shifts to Carterton for the night…
I didn’t truly appreciate this cache until I read the description. That is definitely one very large covering… Gap and DC were all over this find. Thanks wascox and TFTC.

FapnGap and Squirel Nutcase and I have come away for the long weekend caching. Nice quick find here today cache is in good condition. Thanks for hiding the cache.
Day 1 Cache 19 of my mad mission to the Wairarapa for the 100-10-7 Challenge. Wet and rainy day today but cachers must carry on. The lovely Ethness has joined me as driver for the day. Cool hide. TFTC.
Wow, what an amazing structure. Checked it out on satellite view and couldn't believe the size. How interesting about the bees! Talla64 and I are on our way home to Kapiti after a great weekend doing the wineries; we did a bit of a detour to find this cache. A quick find. Thanks very much wascox for the cache and for drawing our attention to this interesting structure.
With Flowerydaze on a wine trip to the Wairarapa. Took time out for some cache hunting and next on the list was this one which was a little tricky. What an amazing structure and what an amazing view on google earth TFTC wascox
Very cleverly hidden cache. Couldn’t find anything in GZ so had another think. I rotated around myself and there it was. TFTC. Interesting story too.
A nice quick find thanks. Spotted quickly from the correct direction! Fav point from me.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee tour of the North Island. It was a great weather most of today, with the threatened rain starting mid afternoon. Mostly just showers though. Today we cruised around the Wairarapa which was cool.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

23 July 2021 18:29. Number 9974. Second find of the evening, missed the obvious on first glance, then came back and spotted it! Tftc
Too worried about finding a safe place to park to notice the reason for the name of this cache. Great hint made for an easy find. Signed log and replaced where found. TFTC.
Well this was tricky in the near dark, but managed a find in the end. Thank you for a great cache.
After a very very long search my dad was judging resting and h the en was like found it! Awesome TFTC
Quick park and grab on our way to Stonehenge. After examining the rocks at gz and coming up empty handed, we took a new look at gz and soon spotted the well concealed cache.
Looked in the wrong spot at first... so many rocks to turn over! But no... it was better than that. TFTC
Staying a night in Greytown, time to go out to find some caches after tea. Thanks wascox for the cache.
Just finished a week of work in Masterton and now have a few days free to collect some caches in the region. Arrived at GZ and checked some items but knew the clue didn’t make sense. After some thought redirected my search and there it was. Great camouflage. Thanks for the smiley.
#1232. My only excuse for the DNF the day before yesterday was that it was raining and I only looked half-heartedly. This time, it being sunny, there was no excuse. Accompanied by GB Leader. Nice to knock it off. Spotted the netting in the distance after reading about it. $2.5 I assume is $2.5 million?

Stopped in the rain, and had a brief recce, but nothing stood out. Have now read some of the logs: what was I missing? Staying at a B&B just down the Line, so will return when the weather is a little more friendly, even in an hour or so?
We went down and at first we didn't see anything but we went back later and found it. All you need to know about these, is they are always well hidden.
Had to have a good look then spotted something different -ah ha! the cache. So this game can be tricky. Thanks for the cache.
A quick find on a bike ride around Greytown area.
A large number of moogles observing from across the road (behind a fence.)

It was a last minute decision to come over the hill today, so I didn't really plan anything, but ended up avenging a few DNFs (yay! ) but picked up a few new ones (boo! ), and revisiting the back country road between Gladstone and Hinakura, this time from north to south. All in all a good (but long) day.
I had to double back to get this one as I had overshot and wasn't paying attention to the map view in c:geo. Parked up on the island and started my hunt. A short while later I spotted the cache, cunningly disguised there. To be honest I didn't look around to look for the orchard (or had read the description beforehand), but now that I'm logging this I've seen just how big it is on satellite view. That's quite impressive. TFTC

Wow that is quite incredible when you see it from above! But at least it isn't red like some in Tasman which must be extremely difficult to look down on from the properties above. We searched high and low for this and just couldn't come up with any new ideas - then something happened which we can't share because it would be a spoiler and then we laughed and laughed as we signed the log and headed on our way. It deserves a favourite because of that. TFTC # 12,734
Yip, I took a look at the satellite picture, what an amazing structure! I hope the netting lasts longer than on a similar structure in Riwaka because it must be such a job to put it up.
The cache. Well that's a funny story which we unfortunately can't share but we'll remember for a very long time. Thanks for the hide .

Cache # 4,197 - this was a memorable cache, but not for the reason listed in the cache description. There is no structure here - it must have been removed. And recent renovations at the site meant that the cache container was almost inaccessible. After using a tool to free up the edges of the container had to use a second tool to get the container open. Should be easier now for the next finder. All good inside. TNLNSL. TFTC!
A serious geo caching day! Not so much about numbers but a dedicated pre planned set of caches covering a fairly large area and many of the caches were puzzle caches we had solved or had qualified for. . We travelled 400km, found about 70 caches and were out on the trail for 15hours, so it was a big serious day.
We left about 6.30am from Palmerston North and travelled thro to Masterton where were picked up out first puzzle cache. And then travelled down the back road towards Martinborough locating the 100 and 250 caches for a month -our main objective!. We stopped at Kokotau reserve for a late morning tea cum lunch but the cache here eluded us even with three searchers and a double look before and again after lunch. We replaced several skindo caches along the route with either new containers or water proof logs as so often they were soaking wet. We side tracked up several side roads for caches and we visited Stonehenge on the way. and then headed into Martinborough to initally look for the cache in the town square which had stumped geodatum earlier. As always PJMacNZ solved the retrieval of this cache and we then headed to the pub for a much earned break and tea with Devonshire scones Yummy! We then continued on our way towards home locating other caches in Martin borough and then on the back route up to Greytown to locate the Cobblestone museum cache which I have searched for on numerous occasions. PJM was able to find the Virtual cache there which was a plus for him. By the time we left Masterton it was starting to darken so we gave away the idea of locating the newer Eketahuna caches. They will wait for another day!.
It was a great day and combined effort by all three of us. Thank you to my partners and the Cos for these caches. Lots of smiley faces and project GC points to boot!!
We headed off to the Wairarapa today on a caching expedition - the terrific trio of haydn.seek, PJMacNZ and geodatum. Primarily we aimed to sign in for all the 100 and 250 per month Challenge series, but, of course, would collect as much else as we could along the way. We checked out about 75 caches and had very few failures. We left home at 6.30 am and returned at 9.30 pm. The weather was good - sunny and warm, if a little chilly in windy spots, and dry underfoot. We were good company and our team worked together efficiently. So, in all, a very successful day.
What an extensive structure - yes, best appreciated on google earth. The cache was a nifty little hide. Thanks for that - gets a favourite.

Took a wee while to find this devious little cache and the junior cacher was the one to spot it, but Mum's longer fingernails were needed to get cache in hand. Thanks for the cache , and the awesome write up, we were particularly intrigued with the bees!
I went for a drive to the Wairarapa today picking up a few drive bys. Thanks for placing the cache.
Out for the afternoon finding a few caches around the Carterton/Greytown area.

Wasn't where I thought it must be since I thought I'd looked here last time. Obviously not. Must have had my caching eyes on this time though because it was a quick find.
I got my car back from the panelbeaters on Friday where it has been for the past three week after a minor skirmish (non-geocaching related) at Christmas. I've been a bit home region bound for the duration, having to rely on my secondary caching mobile, a Vespa, while able to go long distances and top speeds, isn't ideal in crap weather and for gps checking. To celebrate the return of the primary cache mobile, I've headed to the wairarapa to knock off some of the skindo puzzles I've solved in the past three weeks, as well as some traditionals that I'll pass on the way.
No problems finding this well hidden cache, there's only really one object it can be hidden around. TFTC

GZ is notably featureless so fruitless checks in the most likely spots had me baffled. It was only after I had moved on that what I HADN'T looked for dawned on me as being more promising but that will have to wait for another mission out this way.
The scale of JR's orchard is certainly impressive under all that netting. Until today I had only seen it from up in the hills at Powell hut and Mt Holdsworth. Interestingly (to me anyway), I was surprised that the size of the netted area is visually so much more impresive from further away and from above than it is when standing just a couple of hundred metres from it.

One of 10 caches located on this day, mostly between Greytown and Martinborough. Logged this about a month after the event. Took a moment or two to locate. #1426. TFTC.
Impressive sight The cache needs some TLC. The lid is completely shattered.

I took the cache owner's advice and looked at this area on Google Earth - very impressive.
Two visits were needed to find this cache. I was probably a bit lucky to spot it as I never had thought of such a place as being a potential site for a cache.

Last time I came here I found nothing - it seems I was looking in the wrong direction! An easy find today - TFTC!
Great cache with a bit of a difference. Didn't need to rotate anti clockwise as it just listed out. This may need checking. TFTC
This was found just a few days ago, apparently, but all I found was a nice stone at GZ and no cache, and nothing I could apply the hint instructions to.
Hmm OK u got us with this one. Looked everywhere for it then some rude words were said when cache was spotted ha-ha nice hide tftc
Did something use to be on top of the lid? Hard to get open without it but we managed. TFTC
#1522. I enjoyed my day in the Wairarapa last weekend so much I decided to come back for another round of geocaching. This time there was no pressure to find 50 caches so just ambled around the roads enjoying the rural scenery and picking up all the caches as I went. Ended up finding 25 today. I thought this was another skindo cache so started searching around the various posts for a small screw top jar. Then had a read of the description and noticed it was a wascox cache so changed my search image. Was just puzzling over what the hint might refer to when I spied it. Nicely placed cache. Removed and signed the log. Still dry and easy to write on. Replaced as found. Well done. Deserves another favourite. Enjoyed reading about the orchard and how they solved the problems for the bees inside. Cheers GSEL
We'd looked for this one once before without any luck, but managed to spot it straight away this time - funny how that happens isn't it. We did wonder if it was meant to have more camo on the top? TFTC wascox
Found Started out about 10 am this morning on the bikes with a heap of caches saved from when we were down here last, thanks to all the cos and Wilcox for the time and effort put into some of the ones we came across, after roughly 20km we managed 19. Lovely day and now sitting back enjoying a well earned beer. Tftc I have added paracord key chains to the ones I could. - I love this town and if it hadn't been for all the caches here I wouldn't have had the chance to enjoy my stay.
Down in the area for a caching week.

Last cache of the day. By now the weather had turned. Heading back to Wellington from Opaki in a convertible we could see we were driving into a wall of black cloud, so stopped on the outskirts of Greytown to put the top up. We both particularly wanted to find this cache as our son-in-law works for JR and spends a lot of his time under those nets, where it can get pretty hot in the summer. It isn't just the bees who find life there tough!
We parked in the little island at the intersection, but by that time the wind was howling and rain seemed very imminent (the rainbow was a bit of a giveaway), so Mrs B elected to stay put in the car. The hills beyond the nets were lit by the sun, but the sky was black. I soon spotted what I thought was the cache (another clever wascox hide), but had great difficulty extracting it: couldn't get my fingers around it properly, so perhaps it had been replaced a little deeper than normal? I persevered and managed in the end, by which time the rain was splattering my face. Made it back to the car without getting too wet and then drove home over the hill in the rain. TFTC, gets a favourite point due to cache, family connection and opportunity for a dramatic photo .
