Thought this was going to be easy but found nothing. Hard to believe it would be muggles so widened my search but still no joy.
Yay, a public holiday weekend! A little bittersweet this time as whilst it's great to have a nice long weekend, the first of these for almost 5 months, it's also tinged with the knowledge that so many (including myself) had hoped to be enjoying the Mega in Auckland.
But there's nothing to be done about that, so in an effort to 'Keep calm, and carry on caching" today I have teamed up with edvern to conduct another raid over in the Wairarapa.
I do love these longer caching days. Yes, there's lots of driving (my thanks to edvern for picking up that challenge today) but the scenery is always worth the effort as well as the chance to try and grab a few archived Skindo caches along the way.
With her longer caching experience, it was going to be challenging to find some target-rich areas of interest to both of us, but Edvern had managed to find 2 mini-trails of caches that neither of us had attempted before. This was the start of the second (and much bigger) trail.
A lot of these caches are recent additions, and I have to admit that I had a few doubts about what they might be like when I saw them published earlier this year, but now I know.
A quick park n grab here today. In spite of it not having been found for a while, there were no issues with the container or log which soon had our names on it.
Thank you for setting up all your caches, which I enjoyed finding.

Enjoying a drive through back country Wairarapa with TwigNZ. Alway satisfying to collect another skindo cache, thanks. On a U bend in the road too!
Fantastic extended caching weekend with evilC! Day three and still holding it together! We went for a nice drive along some mostly deserted rural roads. Quick find indeed. TFTC!!
Cache dry and in good condition. So peaceful here! Left a few trinkets for others to find. Tftc Skindo
B loves taking me down these dusty back roads for a cache. Thank goodness we're borrowing my Dad's car and he's pretty forgiving of little gravel dents. TFTC skindo!
One of 12 located on a day of sightseeing/walking/exploring in the Wairarapa, with a few caches thrown in for good measure! First caches at Castlepoint, then some en route to our ‘base’ near Carterton, and a few later on in the Greytown area.
Having located the “Tauweru Hall” cache, carried on along this gravel road for another quick find about 2.8kms further on, or 1.9kms “as the crow flies”. #2290. TFTC.

I went for a wee drive out towards Tinui today and then ventured around a bit at there leaving a visit to Castlepoint another day.
Yep, did a Uey just up the road a bit.
Cheers for the cache.

Out finding a few Wairarapa caches today, fleeing the rubbish weather back in Wellington. Much better over this way today, as usual.

Decided that I would head down to today's lunchtime event to Celebrate Canada Day. What else to do on a weekend but to celebrate (not once, but at two events) the 150th anniversary of a country in the other side of the world that I've never visited! I decided to leave at the crack of dawn to collect another run of Skindo puzzles that have been solved lately and are in the generally Masterton/Eketahuna area.
Another easy and quick find here so I could continue on my way. TFTC

A day in the Wairarapa with CNAH to collect enough puzzle caches to qualify for 250 for the month of June to qualify to claim the smilie for yet another Wairarapa cache puzzle. This traditional was a had to have en route collecting puzzle caches. An easy find at the location. TFTC
Co-driver for SUNJU in the Wairarapa today. SUNJU solved the puzzles and I came for the ride to help find them. An awesome day. Got a few traditionals along the way. It was terribly foggy from the top of the Saddle Road to Eketahua first thing in the morning. A great day finding everything - abandoned going for one in Masterton central. Had some fab trips down gravel roads, great views and a thoroughly fun day. The worst fog ever going home between Eketahuna and Pahiatua all the way to the Palmy side of the Saddle Road which slowed our trip home. Thanks to all cache owners for putting these out for us to get. Looking forward to SUNJU's next run.
Out and about today enjoying the sunshine in the Wairarapa, and finding a few caches along the way. A quick PnG before doing a Uee and heading back the way I'd come. Cheers and TFTC
#3922. Another big day out planned in the Wairarapa. This time it was Easter Saturday and Infoferret came along with me on a mission to find 50+ caches for another qualifying day for the DGSC challenge bulk find elective. Time to head east on the back roads of the 'rapa. Infoferret brought a pile of new logbooks in small plastic bags so we were ready to replace any logsheets that had turned to mush or the paper was turning to confetti. Heading back west now. Another nice quick find in a classic Wairarapa hiding spot. Signed the log and replaced where found. Thanks for the cache skindo.
Another nice quick find while collecting some of these local caches.

Found while out and about with Drawp & Emvy_us while on a leisurely jaunt collecting a few of the local countryside caches, we were spoilt with great weather and warmth on this beautiful evening. TFTC skindo, #8302
Found on a sunny afternoon caching trip into the Wairarapa with Emvy_Us and Waiiti 20. Great drive in the country. TFTC
Found while cruising with drawp and Waiiti20 on a very pleasant afternoon/evening in the Wairarapa. TFTC
24th of the day and surprisingly a truck and I passed each other on this road. Thankfully not in this part! TFTC.
Quick find out on a quite Sunday drive to get sum previously solved puzzle caches. TFTC
Continuing the winter season of caching on a very pleasant Sunday.
This cache find was straightforward.
All in order, log signed, safely re-hidden.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too

A plan was hatched for another extreme, fly down, drive back caching weekend. funkymunkyzone, alpenmilch80 and myself flew down to Wellington on the first flight Saturday morning. We met up with vista at Petone in the Toyota Yaris rental car, as he'd flown down the previous day. We headed straight out of town and made a beeline for the start of our route at Featherston. We zig zagged our way through Wairarapa, Manawatu, Wanganui and Taranaki on our way back home to Auckland. To save time and log space, we stamped the logs as "Team AMFV".
Our 1500km / 40 hour drive consisted mainly of narrow gravel roads, some of which had spectacular scenery and views. Sorry for the copy/paste logs as its now all abit of a blur having only a few short naps in between. Many thanks to all the cache owners who have placed caches for us to find on another epic little adventure. TFTC!

Another fly-down-drive-back-caching weekend, this time in the company of mike-miss, alpenmilch80 and vistra. Three of us flew down very early on Saturday morning and met up with the other who had flown down the previous day. We headed straight out of Wellington, stopping just once to rendezvous with the other member of the team. We cached our way through the Wairarapa, Manawatu, Wanganui and Taranaki under the moniker "Team AMFV" (google it if you're interested, but it seemed appropriate for our mission).
We headed over the Rimutakas and started off with a loop of Lake Ferry before heading north and out into the back blocks.By the evening we were up around Masterton and heading back out into the sticks, criss-crossing Route 52 picking up cache finds along crazy little roads, the craziest of which were around Pongaroa, from where we headed back down and across to SH2 just north of Eketahuna, coming over the insane hills at Pori just after dawn. Spectacular.
We all piled into our little Toyota Yaris rental car, which had probably never seen such terrain before in its life, judging by the amount of clanging of metal on stones, and scraping of underbody on metal road centre. All part of the fun though, and nothing like taking 40.5 hours (with basically no sleep), over 1500km, to get from Wellington to Auckland, stopping at 288 caches along the way - 173 on Saturday and 115 on Sunday. I enjoy driving long distances, so I drove for about the first 25 hours plus a few more hours later on Sunday - also because I had designed the route so I knew fairly well the way we were going, and this time we made no mistakes!
Sorry for the largely copy/paste logs, but it's hard work remembering all the different caches. Some stood out from the others but we enjoyed every single one of them and were thankful for every single placement along the way. This trip, and the company, was fantastic and a fun but shatteringly tiring weekend.

This cache was found as part of a marathon weekend of geocaching with alpenmilch80, mike-miss and funkymunkyzone - aka "Team AMFV" It was a full on weekend of non-stop caching, mostly on windy gravel Wairarapa roads!
I had flown down to Wellington on Friday, then met up with the others first thing Saturday morning. We loaded up a Toyota Yaris rental car, then slowly made our way back up to Auckland, arriving late on Sunday night! The poor little car certainly got put through a lot!
It was an incredibly long and tiring weekend, but great fun at the same time, with a great group of cachers! All up I found 250 new caches over the weekend and revisited a few that I had found before. Sorry for the copy and paste logs, but the weekend is already a blur! TFTC!!

mike-miss, funkymunkyzone, vistra and I met early Saturday morning for a two-day-geocaching-trip and once we collected the smallest relocation car available (a green camouflaged Yaris) we were on our way. funkymunkyzone already descripted the route we took in detail and I am still very impressed how he managed mostly the driving without getting lost a single time. Clearly he has his own Topo map in his head . This was a great team effort and I enjoyed the groups spirits and its laughs along the way till the sleep finally got me after the last cache in Taranaki.
In total I collected with the "Team AMFV" 278 smiles along the way and the word "brace" is no longer foreign to me. I would like to give a big thanks to Skindo and all the other cache owners for all the placements along our tour and hope I don’t annoy too much with the copy and paste logs. TFTC

Another most enjoyable caching trip around the Wairarapa today, and some great weather too.
Many thanks for the placement.

Came here this morning with Yeetrees, I needed to score 29 caches for the morning before meeting up in Greytown at lunchtime for a group walk in to find CEDRIC which was to be my 6,000th cache. Only one more needed after this one! The cache was a quick find on a pleasant country road. Signed log, TFTC
