I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.

Hi TheWanglers

This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).

I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.

Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.

Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

After a walk with stunning views at the [Extinguished Fires Beneath](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC6RKQY) earth cache this morning, we set out to visit the section of Bossu Road we had missed on our last visit to this part of the peninsula a couple of years ago. Unfortunately this cache may have disappeared. We gave it a thorough search, and even looked downhill in case it had blown away in the strong winds. To no avail. We suspect it is gone.

Found with Envy-Us on a caching trip around the southern sector of Banks Peninsular. TFTC

24-Oct-20
Had a stunning day driving around some of the peninsular. Great weather and some amazing views, and roads! Most finds were straight forward, but sadly noted many lonely caches. TFTC

Accidental find!! Amazing view!

Nice view

WE are running around these gravel backroads in banks Peninsular for the day. We were down at the lighthouse earlier today and now we are looking at it from across the water. Its windy here and 6.30 in the evening when we get here. Get this one tagged and back on the trail. Cheers
Its Saturday - day three - Little River - Akaroa today. Lets go exploring.

Its Waitangi Day - day one of a five day weekend exploring the amazing Canterbury, with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby, Jack and Jill. Two days Rangiora, a day in Lyttleton and 2 days in Banks Peninsula. I got call from The Seagnoid, hes taking a long weekend. Lets go to the West Coast! Lets Go!! but maybe not the West Coast - rain on the way. So lets go to Canterbury. We leave for Christchurch Tuesday evening after picking up The Seagnoid after work. We make camp for the night at Amberly. Today its off to Rangiora for a cycle trip.

With a cache title like that I was expecting a letterbox cache. But oonly slightly disappointted - this is a pretty amazing place. The cache has the name Southern Blast in it, and at first I thought there might be an archived cache here, re-using the old log. But the cache page here explains it all.
And now I understand why the cache on the other head is called Land's Beginning, because here is Land's End Road.

Cycled up to the Bossu Road from Little River and then over to Lands Road and back via Reynolds Valley on a very hot day.... Straightforward find and a stunning spot. Many thanks.

Glen found it before me. Hi t TFTC

06-May-18
The weather forecast for Sunday was good so StreetWalker and I planned a day exploring the scenic southern route from Little River to Wainui.
We parked in the obvious parking spot, where a vehicle plus driver was already ensconced, and I admired the great view while SW trotted off to look for the cache. An interesting view point of the heads and Akaroa itself. TFTC.

#15605. We were pleased to find that the cache was a short distance from the car park (as the car park already had a van parked there). TFTC.

15-Apr-18
TFTC with Odgersaj! So freaking windy and cold today!!

15-Apr-18
Away for a weekend in wainui with cab165, figures we should nab a few caches as we aren’t over this way often enough. Drove out to the heads, and along the road to a familiar spot for me and cab165 Smile A nice little section to hide in meant we were sheltered enough to easily find the cache, despite what appeared to be a few muggles in a Subaru outback... TFTC

A quick easy find, and a lovely view of the harbour entrance. Disconcertingly, we met a large truck on the road to this cache, but fortunately it was at suitable location for it to squeeze past. TFTC

24-Nov-17
Hurrah - a view at last - we had been in the fog/ mist all the way along to the Bossu Road until now, disappointing not to see the view.
Ladies expedition to the Southern Bays with Jude_E & busy paws.
A fun day out caching, finding a few solved puzzles and a number of other caches along the way.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache, TW.

Qef. We didn't hang about as it was misty on the tops and quite chilly. Thanks for placing the cache.

One of the things we like about geocaching is going places that we would never have known about - and this is one of them. Great views all around. Found with debsnz

21-Sep-17
Awesome views but a cold wind meant we didn't linger long after making the find. Found with AorakiSheep

11-Sep-17
What an awesome place to go for a drive and GC! Worth the effort. Go on clear day. Can imagine not much fun when weather has closed in! TFTC!

24-Jul-17
See previous log for TheBuddyolpals. We just realised we have 2similar accounts so are merging them.

04-Jun-17
JSando and I came the long way around to get to this cache, and by the time we got here I was well and truly ready for some flat ground. Despite the rain and fog, the views were still great. A quick find was made. TFTC

Thank you so much for bring us to this wonderful location.
Found with carkisser on our weekend away from VIC/AUS. Lets cache on

08-Apr-17
We decided to head over to the Peninsula with daughter for a bit of caching for the day. It was really windy!! In some spots, it felt like we are going to be blown away. Luckily, we were only blown away by the fun we were having!! Big Grin Great day, and a big thank you to all the CO for placing and maintaining the caches along our route!!!

I hadn't had a propper big geocaching day since probably before the baby was born - somehow Bethany doesn't seem to enjoy geocaching as much as I do! Razz It's always slower with nowhere near as many finds!! So a plan was hatched to get my fix - mum and I would go out caching, and baby would have some daddy bonding time!! Haha! However even though this plan was hatched at the beginning of the year, it's taken us till April to execute as mum is always busy!

So finally today was the day. A bit of a late start, and we had to be home before dinner, but still managed to get 46 caches! A few DNF, but heaps of kms travelled! Smile Nice to make some steps towards clearing a little more of my closest 80km to home PQ out!

Very windy here! - Been a few muggles finding it too by the looks!

TFTC!! Smile

20-Jan-17
Found. Great views from the top just wish it was a tad warmer today.

20-Jan-17
We found it...a cold wind up here, amazing views

25-Dec-16
We've been wanting to get this one for a long long time!! And today we finally got the last letterbox. Looking forward to now going on the sealed road after being on the gravel road. Nice views from around here.

20-Aug-16
Our second cache for International GC day.

We wanted to get to Jacobs Ladder or Lucas Peak at least but shortly after this cache the road ended with a gate and a farm behind it.
Which once again approved my theory that if in New Zealand there is a place that looks really prominent on the map and there's no cache there, it will be a private and non-accessible.
The Last Letterbox and the last cache frontier going this way Smile

Thanks for the cache and greetings from Latvia!

Nice quick find as I ended my drive along Bossu Road. Great view of Akaroa Harbour. Thanks for the cache.

Out for a wee drive today. Quite a windy one actually. My mission is to collect 172 minutes. A certain letter box.
No muggles here. Beautiful still conditions. I picked up two travel bugs. Now for the unsealed mission. Thanks to this geocache I qualify for the 172 challenge.

Went for a long drive on the western side of the peninsular today, finding a few more caches in some wonderful viewing locations on a beautiful sunny and clear day. Those roads certainly required maximum concentration though, and I was ready for a lovely long cold drink at the end of it all.
The view here was quite stunning.
Thanks for the cache TheWanglers.

Found on a windy cold day

29-Aug-15
Nice and easy find in a bad weather.tftc

29-Aug-15
A rather interesting drive to this cache. The road getting narrower and more pitted as we went. I think I must be getting a bit more cautious as I get older as this road would not have worried me so much back in the day. Cache a quick find again and then on our way now at least on a sealed road.

26-Jul-15
Nice easy find tftc

Introducing my dive colleagues to the art of caching found with phone so took a wee bit to find. Eyeing up or cray sites for tomorrow

13-Jan-15
Found with Rincewind3 while looking around for fishing spots. No fishing up here so we signed the log and headed back down to Wainui. TFTC

13-Jan-15
On a wee tiki-tour looking for beach access to throw a line in the sea. It seems if you drive this far along the road the beach will be somewhat distant! Of course once we'd driven up into the clouds we had no idea just how high we were. Once here we soon had the cache in hand, and the log signed (though the ink was trying to run in the drizzle). The only muggle witnesses were of the bovine variety. TFTC

05-Jan-15
Mini and Mega found this one on a beautiful sunny day after a picnic on the beach. Thought we had a shortcut back to Little River but couldn't face the dust of the gravel road. Cache was a nice find at the top. Left trackable to continue its journey.

31-Dec-14
Our last find for 2014. On the way to a friend's batch for a New Year's party, the 'back way' we stopped off to pick up this cache. I'd had my eye on it for a while. Of course, given the way we came, for us it was the first letterbox...
Not a hard find once I'd actually looked at the GPS. Nice spot. The views were great despite the rain.

Wow what a view. Bowing like forty thousand b!@#$%^& but wow what a view. Bit cold up here today so wifey took some photos while I made a quick find and an even quicker getaway. TFTC.

14-Sep-14
Quick found. No views though as in the clouds. Tftc

14-Sep-14
A great drive around taking our time always waiting for someone to come the other way but didn't happen on the way to this cache. Sad thing was the day was lovely but once at the top the cloud had us to about 70m visibility so no views. And I bet they are amazing.

01-Jun-14
Found whilst on a 'slight' detour home, after a fantastic days family adventure (a walk down through Hinewai Reserve and a picnic lunch on the beach at Long Bay). Getting rather cool in the late afternoon - but a lovely drive out to 'The Last Letterbox'. Great views from GZ.
Thanks for bringing us out this way. Great stuff, cheers.

got to this one from "GC4NJB2 Rockin Over the Roads (Banks Peninisula)" Cache, oh my what a narrow gravel twisty turny road, but the views were worth it. I was by myself, so had to stop driving to catch the view. I was watching a stormy weather front approach me during the whole journey from little river and really wanted to crack along. thank fully the GPS was plying nice and pointed me in the right direction, Signed the log whilst be battered by blustery winds, then bound for wainui and a warm coffee TFTC

08-Jan-14
Wicked view

05-Jan-14
Came out here looking for a place to hide a cache. Found the perfect spot and lo and behold there was one already there! Signed the log and enjoyed the great view out to sea. Tftc

Another visit to Wainui, this time to pick the kids up from their school camp. I volunteered for transport duty because it gave me the opportunity to get the newer caches out that way! Came the scenic route to pick up the few newer caches out this way. Cache easily located. Stunning views and an enjoyable road to drive. TFTC.

Spending a few days in Duvauchelle, and Caching around the Hills. But typical for us as we arrived there were two Muggles sitting in their car.The Hubby came over and asked us if we had been up this Road before.'Yes' we said, and he seemed happy to tootle off and leave us alone.Had it found and signed quickly incase he came back !!!.TFTH

A future sign of any letterbox
Could be heading for the rocks
Should snail mail not be on the go

That's how bills are sent to pay
But prezzies & parcels make our day ! Big GrinWink

A beautiful calm sunny day to be here. terrific views ! Really glad we came here on a beautiful day for this. picturesque drive

12-Oct-13
A beaut day for a cruise around Banks Peninsula collecting memories and caches. What a nice spot for views over the harbour. Thought we would have to dnf as thee was a car with tourists in hanging around, and they looked like they were set for a while. Followed the arrow, and they were not a problem. Thanks for the hide.

TFTC SL Quick find. Left swap.

Found during a caching weekend in the Akaroa Area with Sharkiefan and macpacmum. This one was on our must do list. Great to get a Smile for the long drive in. TFTC

Awesome! Loved getting here and looking forward to leaving again. Cool view. Tftc

07-Aug-13
Just loving the roads around the peninsula. Well worth exploring. Thanks for bringing us here.

20-Jul-13
What a spot! Enjoyed the views (despite low hanging clouds) on a nice winter day. You have to love geocaching for taking you to brilliant spots like this. Definitely a favourite from us (and we are normally very shy giving them away), but definitely worth the drive. TFTC

13-Jun-13
No view today thick fog or low cloud. An interesting drive on the side of the harbour not often seen. TFTC

10-Jun-13
Great views from here. Thanks for this cache as it made a trip here very worthwhile. [:-)]

08-Jun-13
Found by chance!
Our first geocache and we weren't even looking!
Now we'll have to go looking properly.
Especially as I see walked past a couple on our walk yesterday.

25-May-13
TFTC. I was staying nearby for a most pleasant weekend with friends and juct needed to go for a wander to find a spot to post my letter.
Wonderful location, I will post a photo or two once I get home.
Thanks TheWanglers for placing this cache.

Wow 2TF only 112 days after it was hidden and 80 days after the FTF - I see we just made it by the skin of our teeth, it was also found again the next day! Not the usual rate of cache finding! But what a fantastic place, we came over the hill from Little River, what a journey - very interesting road specified not suitable for towing or campervans. had some fantastic views though, will add a couple of photos with this log.

05-Mar-13
Had a few minutes spare while on a school camp at Wainui, fantastic weather and even better view from this spot worth the trip and FTF. TFTC.
