A fun day out caching in the North of Auckland and South of Northland today, despite the weather. A nice little walk in to this cache, if a little slippery. I quite enjoyed the sound of the rain on the crispy leaves, I'm sure that doesn't last for long. A fun little bridge, although I had to use technology to assist with this find, based on the ground conditions. Did eventually manage to locate the cache, and TNLNSL. TFTC!
Last one for us today, we did the Loop track so got these on the way down. Lovely walk & nice to have caches along the way, many thanks for placing
Couldn't find it on the way up to the waterfall but after a bit more thorough searching on thd return, cache was in hand. TFTC
2185. I searched a bit on the way in but the ground was very wet so I left it for my return. When I came back from the waterfall leg, muggles were present so I left it again. Thankfully, GZ was dry and empty on my third visit and the cache was retrieved and signed. TFT(bridge)C.

Couldn't read the description or hint thanks to poor cellphone coverage so wandered around in circles for a bit waiting for the GPS to settle. For a while I was convinced that it was on the donation box! Hope nobody thought I was trying to nick its contents ...

We came here to walk part of the track with our kids. Eventually we were not able to come far: too much mud on one way and the other started with a tricky crossing that would for sure get our feet wet. Luckily we were able to reach this cache: nice bridge and quite an easy find, thanks for placing! Maybe we'll be back one day to do the rest of the track.
Popped in here out of nostalgia, on the way home from up north. My parents used to own one of the houses here on the conservation block aka Marunui. Have crossed over the stream here on many an adventure and on various bridges, some of which got swept away in storms. The current swing bridge is very impressive. No time to go any further today but great to see all the caches here and still going strong. Thanks.
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit … we are now parked at the DoC Campsite at Uretiti for the next few days … drove out to Mangawhai to go for a walk & to check out some nearby caches … this one was an easy find, completed the log & replaced it … pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally … TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #2,998 for us.
Lovely Sunday walk through a section of tracks new to us. Looking forward to some caches and pics! 10 April 2022 10:53am 831 TFTC Nice easy one to start the walk
Decided to come down with the kids and start knocking off these caches. This was a nice one to start with. Nice quick find. Signed and replaced. TFTC
Up in Mangawhai for the weekend with Merlot58.
A quick find at the start of our walk.

I came north for the weekend with Nette1234 with the plan to walk these tracks. We managed to snag the last car park and once across the swing bridge Nette made a quick find
Today was a geocaching day. Time to get some decent points on the board for Mt Kilimanjaro. First was a cito in Whangarei as I do like to support these regular events that Nick and Karen put on.
I then car pooled with 0B80B8 for the next part of the day. We grabbed a couple of caches in One Tree Point area for him then off to get the 2 Waipu multis for me. I'd been slowly accumulating information for them so today they were a quick park and grab on the way.
This cache was the first on our next major target for the day - the six caches along the Tanekaha track. First we went up to the trig. We returned along the same track then headed up to the little waterfall from the track sign near the bridge. The big loop looked daunting and this seemed a gentler way to do the tracks. We spent 2 hours walking time and went up 340m in elevation. Not a bad workout for a 50 year old. As you say the caches were quick finds which is great given the hike. Nice to walk a track I've never been to.
We had a great day and I earned 3750 points taking my total to 5425. Two more traditionals and I'll reach the peak. Thanks for all these caches in here

On a trip south of Whg with Lis's crew to try and get some numbers towards the peak souvenirs.
Despite living in Northland for over 60 years and enjoying the bush, this is one set of tracks I have never been to before, so thanks nodo for bringing me somewhere new.
A nice quick find here before the climb starts. TFTC

Thank you for leading us to this beautiful walk. Hint lead us to the cache.
This forest offers undulated tracks that will test your fitness level. We explored most tracks today apart from the Botanical. TFTF
Out with some geocachers who previously found it. They thought it was missing but we looked further in and there it was.
Out for a walk in the bush to get out of the sun. This was a nice quick find and I dropped a TB TFTC!
Awesome log, easy and safe for the kids real fun day love this one swing bridge on!!
With rustynz and rebel98 on weekend of campervan fun
A little behind in the logging as only recently remembered password. Thanks for the hide nodo

I have been wanting to do this walk for a long time, and today is the day when I get a taster of the track. Due to time, and not wearing tramping boots, we will be walking to the first waterfall.
So here we are, stopping for the first cache along the way.
All good here, thanks for the hide nodo, and the cache

Headed out for a bush walk up to the kauri dam. Waited for a couple of muggles ahead of us to head on down the trail before finding the cache in the obvious hiding spot.
Second attempt to find it, but we got it today. A little walk in our neighbourhood during lockdown.
And picnic lunch at the table.

AliGle and I spent the night near Waipu and today drove back to Auckland via the coast and did a few short walks and some caching along the way. Stopped here to have a late lunch and made a quick find of the cache here. Plan to come back some time to do more of the trails here. TFTC!
Enjoying Mini Break up at Ducks Paradise in Kaiwaka!
Planned to have a go at the two Forest Walks here!
Nice easy find....although nearly got knocked out when standing back up due to hitting my head on a wire stainer !
Thanks nodo for bringing me here!
Was a bit worried about the 5 a time swing bridge....as there was a group of 30 trampers here today too!

Not too hard to find, next time we'll pick up the other ones. No trackable to be found! TFTC
Staying in Mangawhai Heads for a few days over the break. We had made the walk to the little Waterfall, but saved this one for the return leg. Something to aim for and all that. The track was muddy and a bit slippery after the thunderstorms yesterday. Anyway, the GPSr was confused as we approached GZ! Due to the tree cover I think. But I had had a look at the cache page so followed my nose instead. A short search soon produced the goods. We will have to do the hike up to the trig on another visit. Cheers for the cache placement!
On a cloudy day in Mangawhai we headed to this great track for some outdoors exercise and some cache hunting. Hints and GPS worked fine and cache was easily found. Log was quite empty considering the time this cache has been active. Log duly signed and we moved on to the next. TFTC and for bringing us to this track.
(1400) Found while walking the Bryderwyns and Tanekaha tracks today with SteeveB and Cache Hound. TFTC
A cool geo-hike in the shade was just perfect to stretch out the legs after this morning's Heads2Harbour funrun, and so good to be back home amongst the bush & birds. A quick easy find; there was no TB and I was afraid to leave one here in case of flooding.... the log was nice & dry though. I don't think I ever would have found this track if it wasn't for the parking coordinates & series of caches. Thank You!
Nice walk alongside the meadow to reach this location from the car park. No trackable found here.

Which bridge? Oh - that one! Nice easy cahce to start the walk with the family. TFTC
The start of a lovely walk and a nice little spot but the walk to it would not be worth it if you are not going further.
Found this on the way to the waterfall.
The Fish family want to say goodbye to our Charming Fish Travel Bug, hope your adventures continue to be great.

Don't know how I missed this last time. A friendly fantail chirped that I was on the right track and sure enough, there it was, staring right back at me. Took the Surfer Dude, who seems to be a bit far inland. Will have to do this track sometime soon.
That straight ahead track that goes to the falls I am sure was not there when we placed these caches but it is now and has a sign giving the two destinations. Straight ahead to the waterfall. Turn right for the Tanekaha track. Picked up the TB to move it on.

Aww man! I was coming for that TB next weekend! Surely best for a finder to pick these up, rather than the cache owner?! [B)]
Well I started off OK on this track and found this cache fairly easily. It was the next one that took quite a while. At the cache I had noticed a track going straight ahead. After starting walking I immediately started to concentrate on writing in theGPS a comment about the cache and didn't notice a new track off to the right. After watching the position of the cache move from the front right to behind me on the right I decided to continue and see if this track meets up with the ridge track. It doesn't. Now, you can stop laughing.[:o)][B)]
Cheers for the cache.
The boys of the team needed to get out for a walk today and these 4 caches were a great temptation. Fully expected someone closer to have collected them but this was the 1st of 4 FTF's on this track. Many thanks for placing these caches in a place we haven't been to before.
