Quick find when we stopped to admire the view, took the wrong path in but what's a little adventure amongst friends. TFTC
2184. That took a long search to find. The cache has creeped to the base of fence post rather than a kanuka tree. If it wasn't such a mission to return I probably would have given up searching much earlier so I'm very happy to get a smile here. TFT(Trig view)C.
Labour weekend and we started the day by watching the Rugby World Cup final with the AB vs Argentina, where the AB won convincingly with 7 tries to none. After the game, we made our way north to Mangawhai. We decided to check out this track, which we had started back in 2020 but the weather turned on us and so we did not complete the walk. Today the track was very wet and muddy - would recommend future finders wait a couple of months for the track to dry up before doing this walk. We made our way up to the trig and got great views looking down over Mangawhai. Missed the cache on our first circuit of gz, but found it well tucked away on our second circuit. TFTC

First to sign a brand new logbook. The red cover seemed to be specked with mould but the paper was dry and easy to write on. Kanuka matata
Thanks for the cache placement.

This was logged as missing and in need of maintenance just after it was placed.. It has been found a number of times since, so does not require attention. It's a shame some people post a red spanner just because they missed the cache!
I found it a hard slog up the hill to this one though the last couple of hundred metres were relatively easy. My legs would probably beg to differ though! The cache was a straightforward find but we were disappointed with the view as the gorse and grass is so overgrown you can’t really see anything. My knees hated the downhill!
Today was a geocaching day. Time to get some decent points on the board for Mt Kilimanjaro. First was a cito in Whangarei as I do like to support these regular events that Nick and Karen put on.
I then car pooled with 0B80B8 for the next part of the day. We grabbed a couple of caches in One Tree Point area for him then off to get the 2 Waipu multis for me. I'd been slowly accumulating information for them so today they were a quick park and grabs on the way.
This cache was the fourth on our next major target for the day - the six caches along the Tanekaha track. First we went up to the trig. We returned along the same track then headed up to the little waterfall from the track sign near the bridge. The big loop looked daunting and this seemed a gentler way to do the tracks. We spent 2 hours walking time and went up 340m in elevation. Not a bad workout for a 50 year old. A few sneak peaks out to the coast on this last third of the track. I was expecting a steep finish but was pleasantly surprised when we reached the end without a lot of huffing and puffing on this third. There wasn't a view from the trig but we wandered over to the gap and got a nice view of the sand dunes. Nice to walk a track I've never been to.
We had a great day and I earned 3750 points taking my total to 5425. Two more traditionals and I'll reach the peak. Thanks for all these caches in here

On a trip south of Whg with Lis's crew to try and get some numbers towards the peak souvenirs.
Despite living in Northland for over 60 years and enjoying the bush, this is one set of tracks I have never been to before, so thanks nodo for bringing me somewhere new.
Made it to the top now and it wasn't as steep for the last third as I was expecting. Unfortunately the gorse has grown a bit, so not too much of a view from up here. TFTC

Walked up the langsview track to the trig. However no cache to be found here. Coords were correct for the kanuka tree but nothing found.
Made the climb today and picked up the remains of the cache and replaced with a large pill container a few metres from the original place.

We found the container vandalised. Could not log in. That’s why we took photo. Soo we did not have any tools of the trade with us. So we could not replace cache.
Found on our thru-hike of the TA. Wasn't a whole lot of fun climbing around the huge gorse bushes. There's not much view here anymore either. When we found the cache it was under a huge fallen log, full of water with a smashed lid.
I am traveling with my daughter Lucinka mundlinka and son Negrritos across the New Zealand. We are from Prague, Czech Republic. We love "geocaching", the main target is caches )
Many beautiful caches, amazing and unforgettable experiences, thank all owners, TFTC )

We did the first 2 in this trail over 2 years ago. This time we made it to the top for a quick find. Great views. We didn’t see one other person on the trail today. TFTC.
I've been walking Te Araroa from Cape Reinga and stopped here to camp for the night on this peaceful summit. Hunted for the cache after breakfast. Perfect spot for cache. Thanks
Lovely day for a walk. We came via Langs View Track, heading towards the Bryderwyns. Thank you for the great cache with a great view. Cabbage tree is in a bit of disrepair ie dead.
It took us 75 minutes from the carpark to get here, so it was a good workout. The last log was a long time ago. TFTC
(1397) Found while walking the Bryderwyns and Tanekaha tracks today with SteeveB and Cache Hound. TFTC
Second visit. (DNF last time)
Better clue now thanks.
Watch out for dogs on new track back to Cove Rd

Superb view today - got the heart raving. Good quick find! We are probably the last to find it in 2014! TFTC
Planned to walk the Brynderwyn Walkway today from the eat. A bit of a debacle finding the track though and still not a 100% sure about our trip up to this point. Unfortunately I twisted my foot badly enough in an unexpected slide that I couldn't carry on for the rest of the walk (I was gutted - not the day I had planned for!). Being just down the slope from this cache though we just had to make our way up here before turning back to the car. GAR made the find while I sat (actually, lay) at the trig in pain. TFTC nodo - cool views. Will have to come back and enjoy properly one day.
Recently turned Premium, so I'm now dishing out favourite points to the caches that I've enjoyed the most. This point is for the series, which I really enjoyed, particularly for the birdlife that was abundant and friendly!
Came up the hill to check on the four caches. All are well. Picked up the TB from here to continue it's travels.
Really enjoyed this whole track so giving The Top a favourite ; swapped TB's and traded a keychain for a signature coin. Thanks!
Great to reach the top and find an accessible cache - thank you - and for that I've left Conny TB here to encourage others to explore this part of Northland.
#524 Found the cache easy enough, but the brynderwyn hills track must be the most poorly marked track I have come across so far. Found on Day 20 of Te Araroa
What a great walk! Some seriously steep bits, a real work out! So worth it for the satisfaction of reaching the top and getting glorious views on an unexpected sunny winter's day. Thought I'd seen a wood pigeon making a rare silent flight on the way back down, but found a morepork owl looking back at me! Very lucky! Back to the bach for a well earned coffee. Thanks for this great series!
At last I'm here at the top. The heart and lungs as well as the muscles have had a good workout and will probably complain tomorrow. But what the heck, live for the moment. What a great view over Mangawhai and the valley.
After taking 54 minutes to get from the swing bridge to here it took only 35 minutes to get back to the carpark. (I didn't have to admire the bush as much going downhill).
Cheers for the cache.
Last one along the trail and the best was saved til last. Views were magnificent as expected and a great place for a cache. Fav for this one on behalf of all the caches along this track. TFTC and another FTF
