Found at 1:47 PM GAFF1.Nearly didn't attempt this cache as it was really hot and it looked like the cache wasn't there as it hasn't been found for 14 months! However I thought - I'm here now so let's do it.Went around the back after admiring the art work which unfortunately is fading away and found the cache just about straight away as it was totally exposed - thank goodness Thanks to TheMattmosphereFeedback: Cache is not a "regular", but rather a small. It is a plastic fruit jar painted black.
Couldn’t make head nor tail of the hint. Maybe once in range I can study the finds for the next time I pass this place.
A quick stop with SSR as we headed south. It took a bit of poking around to find the cache. It certainly wasn't obvious.
Thanks TheMattmosphere
Our Northern Territory journey began in Darwin around 3am after a very delayed flight. We drove as far north as Fresh Water Camp (northeast of Darwin), followed by a loop to Liberated Cox (out to the west) and Litchfield National Park returning to Darwin. We then headed south with overnight stops at Katherine, Daly Waters and Devils Marbles before reaching our southernmost accommodation at Erldunda. From here we did a day trip to Lamberts Gravitational Centre on onward past Finke. Our last couple of days were in Alice Springs with a side trip via Hermannsburg and Glen Helen, all up covering just under 3800km. My thanks to all the COs with hides throughout the territory for helping make our trip so enjoyable.

What an interesting feature this is, we found the cache after a few minutes.
This trip was sort of in place of a trip to a Mega that got canceled due to accommodation problems, I was quite happy when Goose said do you fancy to caching break in the Northern Territory as this would be the last State or Territory for me in Australia.
Our plan was to fly into Darwin on the Friday night have a couple days in the area then start heading South stopping overnight whenever we needed to, our next goal was the drive to the geographic centre of Australia at Lambert Centre and then head back to Alice to fly home ten days later.
We both had a great trip finding some important old caches, large ones and the odd clever one too, we found Ammo Cans all over the place which was nice as i think we have found most of the ones at home in Tassie.
Thanks for the cache.

Heading to Darwin with iluvtrekking after overnighting outside of Katherine. Enjoying the different stops along the way and the variety of caches. Extended our search and still came up empty. Replaced the cache at gz. Thanks for the hide
@1300
AngelG27 and I are finally in Darwin from Canberra for the weekend. This trip was originally booked for August 2020, so we are finally using up our travel credits. Today's focus was counties from Darwin to Katherine with some interesting short walks thrown in. This one proved too elusive for us.

Greetings from the ACT! TikvaNZ and I are finally in Darwin after our initial plan to travel to Darwin in August 2020 was thwarted by COVID 19 travel coming to a grinding halt! Just here for the weekend, so focusing on different types, counties and a few different DT combinations!
Today was county day so we headed south of Darwin to pick up a few far flung counties and grab a few different DT combinations.
Despite looking high and low, this was unfortunately a DNF. It was a shame as I was looking forward to being scared out of my wits! I expect others have DNFd, just not logged them as such.

Nice spot, good guardian. We were heading out of Darwin on our way to Katherine when we stopped for this one, needing to do a leg stretch and find a cache was a handy combination. We are loving the different vegetation and flora and fauna as we travel through the Northern Territory, we live in South Australia so it is all very different, the humidity is a change for us to but most of our travelling is by car so the air conditioning is on of course.
Even with the hikes and the caching we never saw a snake, which is great, but we really expected to see them.
Thanks TheMattmosphere and TiffanyAndTheCurls, phew long names, for the cache.

Cool cache container and Brolga painting. Once again that tall grass to wade through, but a bit easier than the last cache site. SL at 11.23am with beavar. Left : trackable #8616 TFTC TheMattmosphere and TiffanyAndTheCurls
Thought I was lucky to spot a beautiful reptile near the lovely brolga. He was quite lovely up close as well. Not sure how the last two cachers who have logged it as found managed to sign a non-existent log!! We replaced the log sheet and put a new lid on the box so all is good for people to log again. Enjoyed this one, took lots of photos. Have a fave. TFTC
Found with Kittykatch today, and a favourite point frame for this one!

On the way back from Katherine to Litchfield Park, we make a stop on this cache .... it is 4 pm ... tea time , and last but not least, enjoy a fresh and juicy orange. The box will be quickly found. An orange, a big glass of cool water and it's gone again! Thank you for this cache. Hello from France. *********************************

thanks for the temporary log help!! I'll replace the whole shebang on my way to katherine on the 29th July
Bit confused about this cache.
At the top of the rock I found a small smashed Sistema container and a book of post-it notes spread all over the place. This didn't match the hint so I persisted and came up with a little porcelain fellow nearby with a log book in his head. The log book was full of mold and unreadable. I attached a homemade pathtag to the spiral top.
I picked up the post it notes but left the Sistema. Probably should have gotten that to. Ops.
Cache in need of TLC. But fun all the same.
Thanks for my first large smiley in the NT.

After a week of working on the nearby processing plant, an opportunity for caching came up when most of the crew went back to Darwin for the weekend.
With a borrowed ute and a little spare time I stopped here.
Sad to see that the spray can brigade has added a few family un-friendly slogans to the rock. The cache is in a pretty bad shape with only an unsignable logbook and a shattered systema to be seen.

Thanks for this funny container on our way to Mt. Bundy Station. Someone put a new logbook in, so everything is perfect. TFTC
Found the cache, but it's not in a good way. The log is dried and crusty and I couldn't write on it, so I've added a new small notebook. Didn't have a ziplock bag though, so it's precariously resting under the cover.
Nice way to collect some unfound time though, so TFTC TheMattmosphere and TiffanyAndTheCurls

Found on a nice geocaching day together with LandLockedSailors (LLS)
Today was maintenance day - meaning maintenance of LLS caches. For that we had to go all the way from Darwin to Dorisvale. That is quite a distance for a Danish geocacher
We had a marvelous day, meeting nice people, maintaining caches and finding new ones in interesting places A very long, but a great day for geocaching
This cache we came right by on the way back and I easily climbed the rock and found the cache The log is fine and dry, but the button of the container is missing, so probably maintenance is needed before the wet season
Thanks a lot for the cache

we found a range of caches some day with Team Cracker, Felix II and firesafe on the way home.

On our annual pilgrimage to Darwin for the V8's, this time from the east coast. TFTC.
We camped in Katherine for the night to catch up with honeysucker who was staying there and after doing a couple of caches with them this morning we continued on our journey north picking up the occasional cache along the way.
This painting has been there for many years and is unfortunately starting to show the signs of time and could do with some TLC. This seems to be our lucky run on caches as once again there has been a burn in the last little while and the walk to gz was quite comfortable. That doesn't mean we had a quick find as we searched around for quite a few minutes before we located the cache but once again our name is in the log.
Thanks guys for bringing us here.

Caching towards Adelaide River for ANZAC day. Of course we stopped for a few caches along the way. The list was soooo long today that we didnt finish and ended up free camping along the way and no pub dinner was had.

Team Omam from the Netherlands has only one aunt left. And as she will have her 100th birthday early February, we decided to join the birthday party. But …., she lives in Sydney Australia! An excellent opportunity for us to explore this continent once again and find Geocaches along the way. We will do a 3.5 weeks trip! At places where we will stay for a few days (Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Darwin), we will organize Meet and Greet events. We will try to find mainly caches with high favorite points, caches from 2000 and 2001, earth caches, webcam caches, virtuals and letter box hybrids.
Hiking boots were already on, so this cache was not too difficult to traverse. Found the little man with his nice new logbook. TFTC
Thanks for showing this location. Thank you to Tassie Trekkers for the new logbook. Cheers

Today we explored Pine Creek and surrounds using geocaching as a guide. Found the cache out in the open, replaced the little guy back in its hidy hole with new log book in a plastic bag, but he is missing his bottom half, must of had a bit of shattering time in his last hide, hope this is ok with the cache owner to keep the cache ongoing, cheers.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

The lure of a rather rare "large" cache was enough to make me stop and have a look...but no success. As per the previous log, I am fairly certain it has gone.
No, I couldn't find the cache. But I found something that may have been related to the cache.

Sorry for logging late...
This cache was visited by me either during the one month (February 2015) of hiking/tramping in NZ together with Bärgegumperli or in March/April 2015 while on a bicycle trip across NZ and AUS.
We/I enjoyed geocaching a lot.
Hiking
Hikes:
- Abel Tasman NP: Motueka, Kaiteriteri, Marahau, Inland Track, Separation Point, Coastal Track, Marahau.
- Nelson Lakes NP: St. Arnaud, Hopeless Hut, Travers Saddle, Blue Lake, Waiau Pass, Thompson Pass, D'Urville Valley, Lake Angelus, St. Arnaud.
- Arthur's Pass NP: Mt Brown Hut, Styx Valley, Browning Pass, Whitehorn Pass, Waimakariri Valley, Jordan Saddle, Hut Spur, Arthur's Pass, Mt Aicken
- Bridle Path
The weather conditions were great for tramping almost every single day. We enjoyed the beautiful landscape, the peace in some very remote areas and the many friendly people we met on our way or in the different huts.
Cycling from Dunedin to Auckland
It is not my first tour with this bicycle (map with long loading time).
Places along the route: Dunedin, Otago Central Rail Trail, East Manuherikia track, Tekapo, Fairlie, Geraldine, Oxford, Waipara, Hanmer Springs, Jacks Pass, Island Saddle, Picton, Wellington, Homedale, Hutt River Trail, Masterton, Pongaroa, road near Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu, Waipukurau, Fernhill, Taupo, Whakamaru, Tirau, Hauraki Rail Trail, Kawakawa Bay, Aukland.
After one month of perfect weather (see above) I finally got what I had to expect: Some rain... And sometimes stron headwinds. That the route was not flat at all meant usually that the landscape is great .
*
Cycling from Melbourne to Darwin
Places along the route: Melbourne, Great Ocean Road, Penshurst, Edenhope, Jervois Ferry, Sedan, Tanunda, Crystal Brook, Port Augusta, Coober Pedy, Uluru/Ayers Rock, The Olgas/Kata Tjuta, Mereenie Loop, Alice Springs, Karlu Karlu/Devil's Marbles, Litchfield NP, Mandorah, Darwin.
Along the coast the weather was often wet and cold. The small roads in Victoria and South Australia were very pleasant to ride despite a lot of headwind. This changed as soon as I reached the Stuart Hwy to sometimes strong tailwinds. That's why I had some "spare" time to ride a loop in the Red Centre. Further north
As in NZ i met some awesome people.
*
Guess what I did while waiting for a connecting plane in Perth?
Greetings from Switzerland / Gruess us dr Schwiiz
*There are a lot(!) of caches which I did not search while on the bicycle trip. The reasons are mainly:
1. Stopping slows if one wants to get somewhere, especially on bridges where no one wants to slow down a fully loaded touring bike. Yes, there were quite a few days with >200 km on the pushbike...
2. Riding or resting next to a loaded (recumbent) bike attracts in some areas so much attention that stealth mode is not possible.
3. On rare occasions I rode during the night. If I had to do that there was no time to search for caches anyway [:-(]
4. Some places I did really not consider worth stopping for a cache... Sorry.

I put on my gaiters for the push through the long grass. No trouble really. The little man waits patiently. Thanks TheMattmosphere.
Lots of long, dry grass today, so Mrs Ski waited in the car and sent Mr Ski out for retrieval. It's a Sunday today, so no roadtrains, but plenty of Grey Nomads towing their vans.

a fellow GCer in NT (check the logs) has replaced the cache until my new cache arrives.
happy finds!!!
happy finds!!!
Have replaced this cache until the CO can replace it properly. Have placed it 4 metres to the left of where it was originally. Was with a cacher who had found it previously and who had commented on how good the cache was. At the moment it is only a black container.
i'm waiting on a replacement cache container. it will be replaced first week of august!!!
Drove by this morning and the cache seems to be gone. No sign of the little bugger anywhere. I think he has gone walkabout.
I found the rock with the brolga easily enough
Hard to miss !!
So I took the stroll to investigate closer and find me an interesting sounding cache
Somebody has had a drinking session here recently, if the large, square bottle of spirits smashed on the rocks is anything to go by [:o]
I wandered around, and around, and around.
Half an hour later and I had checked everywhere within 30 metres of the brolga.
I couldn't find a large cache anywhere !!
I hope the camo has fooled me
Hard to miss !!

I couldn't find a large cache anywhere !!
I hope the camo has fooled me
The whole area has been scorched earth and all we found at GZ were a couple of burnt logs.

Found this one on 22April this year... and forgot to log it!
The cache container is certainly unusual!

Heading to Katherine to grab some caches as we head towards our 1,000th milestone ... This one deserves a favourite point -loved the container! Thanks TheMattmosphere 4TC:)
Found on the way to D-Town with the effervescent Newscat. Love the cache container, great spot and noted location, as mentioned in the log by the Newscat.

On the way to Darwin we came across this new little cache - in a spot where we'd talked about hiding one ourselves ...
Please darlin, it was our spot
Not quite in Bombay but a great location .. And your writings helped to discover the little guy quickly so we didn't have to leave with sweet nothings.
Awesome cache container, made us laugh. Just wondered where was I when you travelled through the area, woulda loved to catch up - you coulda stopped to dance with me.
