Out and about today exploring the Buckland Valley with Grannan55 and Geodogs. What a beautiful view, even without water flowing over the falls. All good here. Now, onto the next one for the day. TFTC
Enjoyed a day out exploring the area with ampitup1, The lost wanderers, i looked there, jacko* and byker152. Had a great time exploring and loved going to places I'd never gone before.TFTC
Enjoyed a day out exploring the area with Lillieb05, The lost wanderers, i looked there, jacko* and byker152.Signed log as BVE (buckland valley explorers ) to save room in the logbook.Cache found and returned as found
Out doing a big maintenance run - mainly in the Buckland Valley but checking a few others along the way.Checked this one on the way past as I know someone mentioned a wet log a while ago and there was a recent DNF.Cache found in its correct hiding place but I have replaced the wet log today.
A family getaway to Bright and a few caches too...
This cache was a nice drive and quick find but was too wet to sign.
Thanks to BettyBoo3747 for the fun and the adventure.

Didn’t check the cache, but the Falls are very visible after all the recent rains.
Beautiful day up here today travelling The Buckland Valley area thought we grab a couple and going to hide a couple
On our way to Bright for the weekend, via Wang (not our usual route) picking up a very caches along the way. Decided to spend our first afternoon exploring the Buckland Valley.
Beautiful Falls!

We were staying in Bright for some R & R now that Melbourne's Covid restrictions had been eased and we were finally able to travel. We decided to go for a drive along Buckland Valley Rd to explore some of the sights.
We parked on the grass on the opposite side of the road to GZ. Hardly any cars passed by as we searched. We searched a couple of spots without success but our GPSr kept taking us back to a particular spot. A much more thorough search of that spot revealed the cache. We retrieved the cache and signed the log at 5:50 pm. TNLN. We used hand sanitiser before and after finding the cache.
Thanks BettyBoo3747 for the well-hidden cache and for showing us Howells Falls, which we probably wouldn't have noticed if it wasn't for this cache. Even at this distance we could see the falls flowing, probably because of all the rain we have had lately.

Waterfall in full display after the recent rains. Tipped out some residual water from the cache and since I had time on my hands let the log sheet dry out in the sun on my car while admiring the view before replacing. TFTC !!

Quick trip up the Buckland Valley to grab a few caches and a boot load of branches for tonight’s fire. Up for the long weekend. Magnificent weather!!!

On the way to Harrietville for the day so detoured along the valley to change over the log sheet. Yes it was damp but it was certainly OK for signing. Have, however, left a new log today.
Camping up the valley again and drove back into reception for a moment... grabbed this hide while checking we hadn't missed anything major. Hide must have taken on a lot of water during the rain on Tuesday. Tipped the water out and dried the log as best we could. May need replacing if we get more wet weather. Hopefully a few sunny days bake it dry. Our youngest spotted these falls on our way up the valley on our first trip. Pleased to find a cache here to highlight them too. Tftc BettyBoo3747
Found after exploring some of the 4wd tracks in the area. A nice placement which is easily grabbed from the side of the road. TFTC
On this magnificent winters day, the sun was shining bright in the sky, the whole OSHFAM clan including geo Babcia and geo dog Agent Roxy on board for a drive out to the Buckland Valley to check on our most favourite camp spot at Camp Flat after the recent bushfires. It's our first time back here since last year due to bushfires and now COVID-19.
A quick stop here on our way back down from the Valley and back to Punka to look across and see the falls. They are quite tame today. We have seen them a lot more ferocious on other occasions. Such a beautiful sight.
7 generations, WOW!
The cache was found quickly. Although the log sheet was damp, it was still in good condition and good enough to sign on.
Thank you for the cache here BettyBoo3747

Called past to replace the wet log sheet. Now has a Rite-in-the-Rain log sheet. The container had been cross-threaded. All good here now. The Falls were flowing well in the distance.
A quick stop in the rain as we head for a trail reported to have been very electrifying in it's day.

Milestone !! Milestone ! or is it Kilometerstone ? Duzn't matta. YAHOO 1,000th Cache find today. Great couple days with HAPPYFEET1. As mentioned by HappyFeet 1, Buffalo and district, we had a lot of fun on a Power Trail series as well as other caches. Yes! Shame a series was archived. Thanks Libby for cache placement. Cheers Reg.
With the weather hotting up and a nearby serieds calling to be found, it was time to hit the road with OZREG and grab a few down in the is area before heading for the hills. We only had a few DNF's and made some good discoveries and clever hides during the trip. We had some fun and laughs along the way.
Stopped off the take a look at these falls from a distance. Would be great to check out up close.
A quick find made at GZ.
Thanks BettyBoo3747 for all the effort of placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

what a great view. thanks for sharing such a lovely spot with us. we take so many of these views for granted thanks to the ease we can access them.
Thought we were going for a nice drive to see some waterfalls........well, we did, about three kilometers away, they looked great through binoculars. Very sneaky little hide this one. We had to get out of the way of the cows going to the farm up the road to be milked. So, we went back later and had another look and found the cache. SL TFTC. Should be easier for the next person to find. Too much long grass. Cheers.

Travelling from one event in Wadonga to another at Buckland with Cybergran V when we passed by here.
This is what I love about geocaching. It takes you to some pretty incredible places.
As Cybergran V was doing the whole photography thing, it was my turn for a quick find even without my glasses lost earlier in the day.
TFTC BettyBoo3747.
As always....Sorry for the late log. Would you believe I am actually catching up.

What a wonderful weekend in the Vic High Country, as Jacko, Timmo and I headed north-east to meet up with fellow adventurers for some crazy geocaching expeditions. Mt Feathertop and Mt Buffalo were our main target areas, and the adventures included technical tree climbs, camping, overnight hikes, serious elevation changes, cave swims, underground rivers, and a whole lot of fun!
After spending the day caving around Mt Buffalo we made our way to the campground along Buckland Valley.
The convoy stopped here for "just one more". Actually it was after 5pm and this was just my second cache of the day . I don't know how I DNFd this one 2 years ago, but today it was a quick find.
Thanks, BettyBoo3747.

if there are falls here i have no idea where they are!
I can say however there is an Airbnb just near here called Annie's retreat that is absolutely awesome - hosts about 10 people and has a pool and all.
Either way, thanks for the cache!

Travelling from the Come & Visit Parkville in November, 2018 - Wodonga Event, we travelled here via a few caches on the way.
After a short search here the cache was found, by dalerious, even without his specs, whilst I was taking a photo of the falls in the distance. Thanks for bringing us here Betty Boo. We may not have noticed the falls otherwise. There was enough water flowing down the hillside to make a good showing but we were wishing we were up closer to view them properly.
No time to explore that possibility though, we want to see if we can find 25 caches in the High Voltage Power Trail to count towards one of your challenges, before we continue on to the Night In The Valley event at Buckland tonight.

Now after enjoying the lovely Mt Buffalo it was time to head down to tonight's campsite and toward Jack83's event down at the campsite. As we slowly drove down the mountain Ahomburg, SedgewickDave and I enjoyed listening to my favourite podcast. And as we grew closer to the campsite the first car pulled over and we thought what was wrong........ of course a park and grab. So off I went and soon enought the cache itself was found and signed. Anyways thanks for the cache and the fun little adventure.
On the way to a nearby event, I decided to stop and have a look at yet another set of falls. TBH, with dwindling light, I didn’t see them! I jumped out of the car, only to be mislead by a geocacher telling me that the cache was on the wrong side of the road. Hmm, I kept saying, my coordinates are not here. Eventually I followed my GPS instead of the fellow cacher, and soon found the cache Glad of a find for the day, I headed back to the car and headed to the event. TFTC BettyBoo3747
A beautiful morning in the Valley and with views like the one at this cache I wouldn't want to be anywhere else today. Not much water to be seen but if it wasn't for geoaching i wouldnt even know the falls were there so thank you for highlightimg them to us visitors. Tftc Bettyboo
On our way up the Buckland for the event in the valley tomorrow night. Pulled up in the van for a few quick finds.

A great spot to stretch the legs after a trip inn the 4bee across the range.
Found as part of my 2017 Alexandra Mega experience. This cache added to the fun and enjoyment of my trek to the east and back from Adelaide. While there were a few thunder storms, there were mainly clear skies and I never saw a snake! [^]

The farmer rode up on his quad bike while I was searching for the old cache container. He is aware of why people are stopping along here and is aware of the new hiding place, which is along his fenceline.

After 3 recent logged DNF's (as opposed to months and months of unlogged DNF's) this one was checked today and was indeed missing, AGAIN. It was last found in May. It is now replaced back into the same hiding place, yet again. All good to go.
Grrr I get two chances every year to find this cache. On the way to our camp and on the way home. There goes my first chance. We will drink champagne when we finally get this elusive cache. May be next week. Otherwise it's 2018
Had a bit of a look here and there as well as some other spots but no cache was found.
We spent the weekend camped at Porepunkah and when we got up this morning plans were made to head up this valley. We loved the views of the hills and they looked extra special with the clouds still hanging on their tips. At GZ we saw the falls had a fair bit of water flowing down them and we tried for some photos to show them off but the fog made them hard to capture. No troubles finding the cache and it is in good order.

Back up this way again for another attempt at the HVPT. After a DNF last time around we were pleasantly surprised to make an easy find this time around. Best part about finding this one was all the inquisitive cows that came down to say hello. Kids had a ball. Thanks BettyBoo3747 for the cache.

TFTC and for replacing the cache before we left Bright. There was quite a bit of rain last night. We lay listening to it on the Motorhome roof, we spent the morning in Harrietville and ventured out to Buckland Valley in the afternoon. There was a little bit of water flowing down the falls. The cache was quickly spotted and log signed. We carefully replaced it and its camo.

After a few DNF's recently a cache check was needed. This is tricky little hide (or was) but yet again it was missing when I got there today. Checked where it should be and nothing. New cache now in place with a little camouflage. I hope it lasts this time.
After all these DNF's I obviously need to come and check this one. It can be tricky but it has also gone missing once before. Hope to get here soon.
On bike ride along the Buckland Valley. Stopped on the trip down and searched to no avail. Did the same on the way back. I must have poked and prodded every conceivable spot that I could find. Came up empty.
Looked for five minutes with no luck. Not many places it could be using the hint.
I could see Howells Falls several hundred metres away, but couldn't see the cache just 2 metres away .

Grumpynutcache's patience finally departed with the service on our phones. I had this one stored from home and was amazed that everything worked without internet. So despite not being able to spot this cache fast enough to satisfy grumpy and a lot of very disappointed calves it was fun to try. No wonder this game comes with a warning we must have dislodged at least 12 redback spiders in the process of searching. Twice!

Well today was the day. I had been down this road once before; it was 2003 and we were chasing breakout after breakout during the Alpine Fires.
At the time I thought to myself despite the smoke and flames this really was a beautiful place, and I needed to get back here for a holiday.
Anyway, 12 years later, I was out to relive some old memories (sans fire), and also tackle the nearby High Voltage trail.
I allowed a muggle cyclist to pass on his lycra clad way and I swooped in to make the find. With the log signed it was off to the high tracks!

#1483 Staying nearby in Wandiligong for a relaxing long weekend, we wandered down the Buckland Valley this evening to have a kransky on the fire. Before that we had another crack at this cache (as it had been replaced) and even though Mrs BGF was keen to unhinge a gate (totally not necessary btw) it really was an easy find. We can't give a report on the falls today as the sun was setting in that direction causing blindness - tftc BB.
While camped at Nug Nug, my son took us for a drive across Goldie Spur Track. We enjoyed the magnificent views and bird life. We collected a couple of geocaches. That BettyBoo gets around! tftc.
