With an offer to head back to an area that I first visited in the 60's when a group of young families camped on the lagoon in Princetown for many years before the development that you see today.
My very good caching buddies the suscoe's invited me to accompany them starting very early with the weather not the best, not heavy rain rather a misty rain,I know the Irish have a name for this, enough to wet the windscreen and not much more.
Later in the day the sun came out and it ended up very warm.
As I stated above we spent many very happy days camping very close to the lagoon with two other families and each morning we would just stand and admire the view across the lagoon. Breakfast was cooked with this beautiful location in the foreground. A short wander to the mouth on the waterway that runs into the sea.
It will be a shame if these great caches end up being archived if nobody adopts them. I already have 140 odd caches out there and these are a little too far away from Geelong.
Thanks farmverb for placing this guy.

Suscoe and our good mate Bushfire headed out bright and early this morning for an adventure to the near south west of the Western District.
The day started out cool and overcast with the occasional drizzle keeping the windscreen damp.
Gradually the cloud thinned a bit and we had sunshine at times too.
Temperatures ranged from 12 degrees on the higher slopes o fthe Otways and it ended up at 22 degrees around the Colac area on the long drive home.
We travelled a fair way today and we surprised with the speedo total when we got home.

Thanks to farmverb for this hide.
This was a nice find as Bushfire shared with us his memories of days gone by when he brought the family camping down here along the river. A whole day's travel from Geelong back in the day, but we will let him tell the story properly in his log.
All quiet here except for three walkers crossing the boardwalk towards town.

What a lovely location! The number of times over the past 30+ years I have driven the Great Ocean Road and never once bothered to divert into Princetown . . . sad . . . but at least I have now and will be back. (I hope it remains as it is and that proposed development doesn't "pass muster" with the local planners and be approved otherwise the appeal of this place will be lost (to the gold shoe, white panted, chardonnay sipping mob who reign)).

Yes, we found this cache on our evening walk from the caravan park.

TFTC . . . and bring us to Princetown.

found after The Surf Coast Event 2016 mega event. on route back to SA slowly stopping at most geocaching on the return. cache found easily where you would expect it to be.

17-Nov-16
Found at 1:27 PM GAFF2.
After reading Muzza's story we just went across the road and found the cache there!
However once again the previous finder placed the log book so that the open end is on the top so it fans out and catches the lip of the tin - just think people!
Thanks farmverb.
Feedback: Looks like no one is going to take up your caches which is a pitty. Some fantastic spots around here.

We stayed at the Reserve so this was close......but we were feeling a wee bit laid back so picked it up as we were leaving. Big Grin Had read a previous log about damage at GZ but a poke with a long thingy made the cache accessible. Good hide, even geocachers can't see it! TFTC farm verb.

What a great coincidence! Show weekend in Canterbury and the Surf Coast mega at the same time! How convenient! So off to the airport, onto the plane, and over the ditch I went in search of adventure!
After spending the night in Apollo Bay, I headed out along the coast for the day to explore the area. So many amazing places along the way, I had a ball!! The weather has been looking suboptimal the whole day, with a few light showers, but here, it all came down. Luckily after i found and replaced the cache! TFTC!!!

11-Nov-16
I'm logging this as a DNF even though (I believe) I found it. I checked the obvious places, but the end of the armco railing on one side of the bridge had been bent by a collision and prevented access to one of the typical hiding places in places like this. I had a boroscope in my car, so I grabbed it and slid the camera end into a small gap and picked up what looked like a mint tin. But even though I found it, I certainly didn't get my name in the log book, hence the DNF. If that's where the cache was hidden, then perhaps the owner could hide another nearby.

My thanks to farmverb for placing it.

Found this one on my way over to the Surf Coast Mega, flying first from Peth to Adelaide, then joining Groovy Grape for a three day trip from Adelaide to Melbourne via the Grampians and Great Ocean Road (a trip that had been on my wish list for a long, long time). Had an amazing time with a great group of people, all of whom now know about geocaching and how much fun it can be. I have to admit that I snuck away from them all to grab several caches with none of them being any the wiser, but by the end of the three days they all knew what I was up to and even asking if they could join in the hunt.

Having spent the night just a few hundred metres from this cache, I decided I needed some peace and quiet away from the rest of the crew, and this one was beckoning me to come and find it. The sun wasn't up yet, so I had the place to myself as I stood at the viewing platform up near the now closed General Store - so peaceful and serene. From there I spotted the pathway and boardwalk leading down and around then across to gz. Enjoyed the walk, being serenaded by frogs and birds as I walked. Found the cache in the second place I looked, and it took a bit of coaxing to get it out of it's hidey hole, but I soon had my name in the log and the cache replaced as found.

Just as I started the walk back, the sun peeked over the hills to the east - a really beautiful place to be at that moment, and a a memory I will keep with me for a long time to come. Thankyou for bringing me here farmverb - the smiley is a bonus.

Well, its happened again. Once more I am behind on my logs by a number I am not willing to share. Don't ask me how it happened yet again, there isn't really any excuse for it. I am writing this log on the 18th of February 2017 as it currently stands. I know, well and truly dismal effort on my part. For this, I apologise immensely. Sadly it also means that some of my logs will have to be on the shorter side due to trying to catch up to about 300 of them!

Today was a day on the Great Ocean Road, and it was truly brilliant. Any time I make it down here its always an amazing day filled with stunning views and good memories. This was the 12th find of 14

I was tossing and turning as to whether to come down to this one, but I thought heck, why not. It was only an hour drive back to my grandparents place in Warrnambool. A nice easy find at a cute little spot.

Thanks farmverb!

Another quick find on our day out

10-May-16
After arriving at Port Campbell last night we were up and about early to meet the lovely local caching team farmverb at the 12 Apostle visitor centre. After being reunited with my favourite TB Purity the Unicorn and a warm coffee & good chat it was now time to do some exploring of the area and find some caches.

The extreme weather conditions were not on our side with gale force winds making taking photos difficult and lots of rain and getting constantly wet.Twisted But we had come a long way so off we went regardless.

The GOR was flooded here as the river mouth had blocked up and water levels were far higher than normal. Near GZ the picnic tables were underwater and the boardwalks were underwater in places but luckily the cache was in a location where I could still access it Wink

A quick find, TFTC farmverb [^]

Our current visit to Australia had been in the planning for over a year with the very significant help and advice from friends who live in Melbourne. The original plan was for a 2 month visit, but as things progressed we just couldn't help extending our trip to the full 90 days allowed on our visas - after all it's a big country and so much to see and do, especially with our favourite pastimes being birding, hiking and of course geocaching! We are currently on the first section of our journey, which started with our arrival at Perth airport followed by a day cycling around Rottnest Island before travelling on to Adelaide where we met up with our friends. We then continued on to spend some time on Kangaroo Island. We are currently on route to Melbourne via Goolwa, Strathalbyn, Coorong, Mount Gambier, Cape Bridgewater, the Grampians National Park, Port Campbell, Cape Otway (where we are heading to at present) and Lorne, cramming in as much as possible on route. From Melbourne we head to Tasmania for a few days, then back to Melbourne before setting off to Sydney via Wilson’s Promontory, Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota, Pambula Beach, Thredbo, Canberra and Fitzroy Falls. After a visit to Sydney we will travel on to the Gold Coast, then after spending a few days in the nearby mountainous birding hotspots, followed by an overnight trip to Fraser Island, we will fly from Brisbane to Cairns, visiting yet more good birding sites. We will then drive up to Cape Tribulation before heading back south again to Port Douglas and a day out on the Great Barrier Reef. We then return to Cairns for the flight to Alice Springs, where we will hire a 4x4 camper and set off for a week on the circuit to and from Kings Canyon and Ayers Rock. We then fly to Darwin from where we will spend the last two weeks of our holiday making our way to Broome via Kakadu, Cooinda, Katherine Gorge, Kununarra, Lake Argyle, Emma Gorge, the Bungle Bungle’s and Fitzroy Crossing. Our last two nights in Australia will be spent in Broome before we fly back to Perth, from where we will connect with the flight all the way back home to Zimbabwe via South Africa. We already know we can't wait to return!

A nice quick find at this lovely river crossing. Thanks so much for the cache.

Cache... Actually the log was easy to find. It was bare though so we put it in another tin, unfortunately not camouflaged.

01-Apr-16
Found it, though with some difficulty as there was a log but no cache.

Team ZACAATT has replaced the cache with another tin (unfortunately no camo) and not from the mint that launched a thousand caches, but the one Tally Tiger's addicted to. Log book is almost fill as well

Day 9 of our geoholiday in Victoria now we are slowly making our way back to Adelaide grabbing caches along the way, We arrived at this one and there were quite a few kids climbing on the rocks and swimming so we decided to fire up the camp stove and make a cuppa and have some food, lucky for us as we were finishing they all started to head back to their campsite and we had the place to ourselves, started looking in the obvious spot and found nothing, looked here and there to no avail, as we were just about to leave i spotted something, it was the log book only sitting on the rocks not far from the water, grabbed it and luckily it was dry, we did nt have any spare containers so slipped the log book in the spot i reckon the cache belongs. TFTC

#9829, Found it with DroidCachebox!

This was our last day in Australia and we decided to rent a car to drive the Great Ocean Road!
I'm glad we did it, although it's a long drive for only one day (we didn't have more time).
The views are just amazing, most parts are very similar to the coast in Portugal, although we don't have a road along the coast, so it's not so easy to see them all at once.
We really enjoyed the drive!
Thanks for the cache.
Greetings from Portugal.

What a wet day. This spot is beautiful and the reflections on the water look great. This is cache 16 on our lap of Australia and we are staying just up the hill at the caravan park for a couple of nights. Lots of mozzies here but views are special. As I write this log we can see friends of ours on the big lap pulling in the caravan park down below. Off to Tinboon for us today (7 years ago we went to Tinboon and had Turkish delight ice cream) and maybe some more caches.

Hard going with niggles around but a stealth grab from geodad and nobody saw it. Thanks for the cache.

Found this one today on my trip from Apollo Bay to Warrnambool. I was trying to find as many isolated caches as I could and also caches in as many LGA as possible. This was an isolated cache and goes towards a NZ challenge cache I am doing. This was a nice easy find after parking nearby and then talking to the nearby beginner kayakers. I did this as a quick grab and continue across the bridge while I signed the log and then return and drop off the cache.

Thanks for the cache.

A weekend glamping around the 12 Apostles with Bogonghazy started with dropping the dogs off in B'rat at one of the many kennels there. As check-in, or whatever you call unzipping a tent is, wasn't till 4pm, we had plenty of time to meander our way down to Princetown.
This was the last before heading to the tent, and ensured we'd drive to the end on one of our days here.
Thanks for showing us the river and boatramp, a really pretty town up above too.

Together with Spade52 I traveled for almost 6 weeks through Down Under Australia. We made our trip, using a Spaceship rental car, visiting the 5 most southern states of Australia, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Australia Capital Territory. I was the driver and Spade52 the navigator. We mostly avoided the motorways and mainly used the coastal roads that led us through many small nice and rustic villages and sleeping towns. We stayed in motels, backpacker hostels and occasionally a campsite. Luckily the weather was very agreeable during our trip with nice temperatures and little rain. We especially enjoyed the nature, the (for us) extraordinary flora and Australia's wildlife. On our trip we visited many geocaches. All CO's thanks for showing us many interesting and special spots.
After our visit to the Otway Fly Tree Top Adventure we picked up the Great Ocean Road again. On the way we visited some interesting sites, great views and found some geocaches. This geocache was easy to find. Very nice hide and an awesome location.
