This walk has become so popular in the last 5 years that it is no longer suitable to have a cache here. If you have completed the rest of the series and want to get the final you can message me for the code that was on this cache.
Need to sort this hide and possibly find a new spot as this place seems compromised
Still not able to find this one. Unsure how close to the ground GL is because ive had a few be up to a few feet off the ground :/
Cache was missing. New hide placed at the same coordinates. Description/hint updated.
Cannot find it. Didnt hear any dog. Couldnt tell if it was the obvious bushes people have mentioned or some other ones. I think i figured out the shed bit. Im failing badly at these ones. Ive come to search 3 times now. I did find a black and white cat in the trees over the fence though. Thoughy it was a possum at first. Oh and i found a big weta in a hole.
This cache was attempted as part of the Palmerston North leg of our "Road to 6,000" Extravaganza for 2016.
Unbelievable - another DNF in Palmerston North! We have obviously lost our mojo!

I had been in Palmeston North for a couple of days for work and decided to try and grab a few caches before I left. I didn't have a great deal of time but saw this walk on the map and decided it would be a good opportunity to stretch the legs. I had to dig a little deeper than expected. It was easier to spot the cache than it was to gain access to it. Unfortunately I drew the attention of not one but two small but loud dogs in the neighboring property so signed and left as quickly and discretely as possible. TFTC.
Gps is out. A hint from Push n East got me back on track. Barking neighbours dog just further along was off putting. Tftc. Now back track on others from last year to get a missed couple of codes to do the last one.
Cool container, took a few moments to find. Ran out of time to complete the series but will be back. Thanks for the cache!
This one, as it turned out, caused us most of the trouble to find on this walk. tftc
Decided to go on a random day trip to Palmerston North from Napier. Was pleased to be ticking some more off my list!
Vistra and I had headed down to to Manwatu for the weekend, we both wanted a high number weekend and I was looking forward to meeting some of the locals as well.
Thank you to all the CO's for their placements some nicely placed, clever and tricky hides, so a great variety. Very conscious that everytime I moved to the front of the shed the dogs would go nuts and get told off by the owner, tried to be a stealthy search, then Vistra put his hands on it stright away. TFTC

I traveled down to Palmerston North for a 3 day geocaching weekend to give my numbers a bit of a boost, as I head towards my next caching milestone. I decided to fly there and back and pick up a cheap rental car for the weekend. The weather was perfect and I had a great weekend down there.
I joined up with yorkshirekiwi83 again today for another day of caching, before our flight out this evening. After a day of caching around the city, Bunnythorpe, Ashhurst and the gorge, we returned back to the city to pick up a few more caches in the evening before our flight. We decided to tackle the Fred's Walk series of caches - it was a nice little walk to end the day. This took a bit of searching in the bushes till we spotted it! TFTC!

A peek in the bushes and there it was just hanging about. Log is full so just added initials. TFTC
A tricky find in the fading light today. Log book is full but squeezed our initials into a gap. Tftc
Nice easy find. Log book over full, squished in initials for MacWatt (MW) and Kahluis (KL).
This one proved a little more difficult with the co-ord being out slightly.
Applied Logic & still couldn't see. In the end the kids ventured forth & came up trumps.

Took a moment at GZ to realize that we were in the same area as the treasure was in.
Hint made us question our eyes, till we actual used them. There seems to be a dog nearby as he did not sound to happy about something, but apart from some noise, not a glimpse from it.
Cheers

Found this cache a couple of months ago whilst out with lindyloo1, now time to log it for myself! Thanks
I was on a day trip with my mum (SunnyBunny64) and Nickhbnz and his son Lucas. TFTC
2 adult cachers and 2 geo kids on a road trip from Napier to Palmerston North seeing how many caches we can log on our way! We had just done Tennyson Rest and wondered if we should head back to the car and drive closer (as we were not from around here and night was encroaching we needed to try and be as quick as possible), we decided to just make a dash for it because with all these dead end roads around we figured we may not get any closer. Nick ran ahead to start searching but went to far (I had the GPS) so I had to yell out to come back a bit. Used the hint to quickly locate the right area and Nick found it almost instantly! We figured this was great luck as there was quite a bit of area that could be searched along. TFTC
A quick find on what I imagine could be a cache that takes quite a bit of looking. I guess it was our lucky day. TFTC 36th find on our roadtrip to Palmerston North.
CO check: cache sited but I didn't check the logsheet due to passing muggles and I wasn't able to wait for them today. Let me know if the log is wet or full and I will return to replace it. Please be careful of the trees while searching. Minimal disturbance is required.
Out caching with NZ1. We felt that this one required too much stealth and encroachment too close to private property with a barking dog as well. Decided to flag this one for another day. Thanks
We snuck behind the bush once some muggles had passed then started having a look around when the dog started barking and his owner came out to tell him off! We stood there silently hoping they wouldn't catch us sneaking around behind their shed. Luckily we didn't and then the catch suddenly popped into my line of sight. TFTC
Found with Wafflekitties! Was worries we were going to get snapped! The dog is very noisy! Thanks for the cache
Came back to sign log and note last coordinate foe final... this one is still tricky to spot! TFTC
Tricky find. I lost my pen between #2 & #3 so I will have to come back to sign the log ...
Up here for a week on work commitments, any spear time was caching with Geco72.

Out on a cache hunt with my friend Mr Casserly. Don't you hate it when the noisy dog won't shut up...soon saw what we were after. Tftc
Tricky wee hide, took a while to find and thankfully no muggles disturbed me. TFTC stardust718, #7565
Had to try this tricky one 2x as the first time we started hunting the dog just started to go beserk, on and on, so with that and the heat radiating off the fence and stones we gave up for another day. Turned out 'another day' was just later after we had already tracked down the final and were on our way back to the car. The cache is overly camo-ed for it's environs at the moment (the hedge is rather thick). But the dog gave up and the kids were super quiet this time, so we had time to find it in the end. TFTC.
Been to check on this one after anjane18 mentioned it was in the incorrect location. All was good here. Cache still where it should be. Note: the container does not need to be removed to get the log out.
I think I just got lucky with this one - it was in the first place I looked Thanks for the smiley!
#901 Not for the first time I have felt self conscious peering into bushes - what would people think if they see us. TFTC
Out walking with the dogs were getting a bit restless with me searching and searching for all the different caches. thankfully i gave it one last go and it was right there. great hide. thanks for the helpful hint and the cache.
Dog announced my arrival at the cache site. Searched and searched, read the hint over and over and still nothing, so decided to leave, but then thought I'll give it one more try and there it was!! Very clever!! TFTC
The dog on the other side knew we were there but the owner came out and said to it shut up there is no one there.
We decided on this walk as we wanted some exercise this series was a great walk and we enjoyed every step of it many thanks for placing these here

The waterproof logsheet was wet and unable to be written on. Replaced. Code written on logsheet and plastic bag (unable to write on container).
Thought this one could be a little tricky but we soon had #3 in our hands, but we couldn’t find the code for the bonus anywhere in the cache or on the mini logsheet. TFTC.
Knew where it had to be, but took a little while to spot it. Fortunately no muggles wandered past - our searching could have looked a bit weird otherwise
Now off to find the final. TFTC

Couldn't find this one, even with 3 set of eyes. All the bushes have been trimmed so hope it is still there.
Was a quick spot as it was lying on the ground, wasn't sure where it was meant to be, but probably not just on the ground...
Awesome hide!

A brisk walk to GZ, co-ordinates spot on. I think I am going to like these caches. Disrobed the cache in the bushes, then onto No.2.
