I checked this one this evening. Yes, it has been broken and the cache container has gone.
I won’t bother replacing it. The hide was just across the park from a well-used children’s playground which, I am now of the view, is not an ideal spot for a cache.
This one has therefore been consigned to history

Saw what looked like an obvious spot which has been broken, only had time for a quick look around
A quick find. The log is mush, so added a temporary paper in a baggie. Also the cache holder is starting to come apart a bit.TFTC
Thought we knew where it was but it wasn't. There was a spot that we think it was and fitted with the clue.
Victory at last. Made the discovery in the dark this evening when all quiet at game zone. Thanks for the cache.
A very nice hide and have seen this type before so did not take too long searching for it especially as we were walking. TFTC
On a chilly afternoon. Popping out just to get one this weekend for the 3 million caches souvenir.
Very cleverly concealed. Log book very wet. Quiet Saturday afternoon, no one else in the vicinity.
Very wet, even though I found it in a nice sunny day. Have to wait until it get dry to log the logbook. Need to find a way to keep the logbook dry. TFTC
Nice hide. Easy enough to find at night but I always forget that signing a log in the dark is usually the hard part.
Thursday morning and not a soul about. I quickly spotted the hide (Nicely done!) and completed the formalities. TFTC
I had planned to find this cache a few years ago but there was too much muggle activity. There was no such problem this afternoon and I quickly found the cache. It took me a wee while to remove the lid though.
TregearP and I swung past here earlier in the week hoping for a quick log for a Dot Day.
The area however was in use by a group of teens playing touch and enjoying the warm evening. This morning when we revisited it was deserted and so a quick find and log.
All in good order, TNLNSL, TFTC.

We went to tackle this one the other evening but despite the colder evenings the area was busy with muggles playing so had to wander by. A lot quieter today so in, log and all back safely in place again. TFTC
I was heading off to tackle the North Western Passage caches today and stopped off to quickly grab this one on the way as I needed a D1/T1 for a challenge. Spotted something out of place at GZ and with a little bit of feeling around found the hide. TFTC
I saw it straight away but checked the surrounding area just in case I was wrong. No I wasn't lol. Lid sure didn't want to come of! Tftc
MacPacDaughter decided a walk to this park and back from the top of the hill should cover the rest of the 10,000 steps for the day. Family of five kids playing in the park. MacPacDaughter distracted them by rescuing a ball out of the top of a tree while MacPacMum found the cache and signed the log. TFTC tbird53
This one had team geocacher Mr. T and me fooled for a little while. Then Mr. T found it in a spot I had previously looked at and discounted. A great hide. Worth a FP. Thanks for the cache.
I LOVED this one!!! A great hide and nearly foxed me despite going straight to it. I had no GPS as my phone had died but thankfully the two geokids were happy playing on the playground and the rest of the park was deserted as I made my way round the whole place looking low before returning to this spot again and realising what I hadn't before. Thank you!! A favorite from me.
This one foxed me for a while. Two trips to find it. Belevie you GPS and you will have Victory.
Started looking, lots of little muggles around so we'll come back... we searched for a long time.
Went for a nice stroll on the last day of my holiday and sat in the tree to have a good think about it. Noticed the cache and went to investigate. Cute! Tftc
Finally managed to get around to finding this one. I needed to find a cache with V for the first letter of its name for a spelling challenge - not too many around but glad to have left this one alone for so long!
A slightly damp lunchtime, so sane souls in the park, an instant find of a clever hide.

Victory at last in finding area without muggles. Needed cache today so had done a drive by to see if this one was possible. Took longer extracting the log than returning it. Nicely done. TFTC
#1264. I have had this cache on the to do list for a while as it looked a good one to visit on a dark winter's night. But managed to get here today before nightfall. I was a bit concerned someone in the nearby houses might wonder what I was doing but I didn't see any twitchy curtains. Soon spotted the nicely hidden cache and once I realised how it was positioned I quickly had the logbook in hand, signed and returned. Should stay nicely dry in this location. Thanks for the cache.
6997. Pouring with rain today so decided to drive to Porirua for lunch. Did this one on the way back to Johnsonville. A very quick and easy cache once the gps settled down. Absolutely loved the container - well done! Thanks. Rodney and Iris.
#121 Fifth for the morning. Geokid had a play while we waited for the local muggles to leave. Spotted it from across the park, so a quick find once the coast was clear! TFTC
A nice quick find today after the walk through the very slushy park. Nice hide. SL TFTC
Nice quick park here today so didn't take us long to have cache in hand rather quickly.

Cool cache. Few teen boys was being silly at tge slide. I pretend sit and text next to the cache.i have to use a tool to get to a log . TFTC
An appropriate title considering I am about to hit 1000 caches- this was number 998!
A boy bouncing two basketballs around when I arrived- even though I continued up the street past the playground he left, not sure if I scared him or whether he was just leaving anyway. Whichever the case, I walked on a little and came back after he had gone.
Looked in the wrong place at first as my GPS was leading me about 2 metres away (plus or minus 3 metres so not really an issue) then investigated further and found the hide.

#1538 I've been watching this cache with interest as it's been out of order since I moved to Tawa last year. Was disappointed to see it archived before I had the chance to find it but then it was swiftly replaced and unarchived and I had it in my sights, particularly as it would have been a lonely cache! Had it on my watchlist so I saw the find log come through on Saturday- I'd been beaten to it! Swung by after work nevertheless to finally find this cache and was happy to have my hands on it very quickly. Nice hide! TFTC- a satisfying smilie to have on my map
Visiting my sister and noticed that although this cache was listed as disabled the notes said you had replaced it at slightly different coordinates...decided to look and soon found the new hiding spot. Tftc

I trialled a new cache in Victory Park a few months ago. Unfortunately it was 'hit' within a day or two.
A completely new and different one is finally in place which is less likely to be muggled. However it should be reasonably easy for geocachers to locate. It's not amongst the foliage as the original one was.
Please ensure the lid on the 35mm film container is securely replaced when you're finished.

As this cache has been out of action for too long and the cache owner has not responded or performed any maintenance, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to un-archive it.

Have a new, upgraded cache ready to go and went to the park a few days ago intending to set it in place. Unfortunately there were too many kids shooting hoops nearby at the time. Hope to finalise this within the next few days when I'm back home again.
Seems like it's no longer there. This is meant to be a relatively easy one. I will replace in the near future.
A last cache hunt in Tawa this visit before the drive home. A thorough hunt through the Toi toi yielded no victory, but lots of cuts. The toi toi is trimmed right back, and this cache hasn't been spotted for a while. Is it still there?
No luck...I finally struck a time (6pm on sunday night - presumably dinner time) and no kids playing, but a good look was cut short by a teenager waiting for someone nearby and watching...not a quick find - I will be back next time I visit my sister
1910hrs
Would have been quicker bit for some pesky muggle kids. Had to pretend to be a tree parasitologist.

Another great day out with the kids. Enjoyed a little search and a little play in the park. TFTC.
It was a hard fought battle and there were casualties (damn those toi toi), but alas victory was not mine today. Clothing took a bit of a hammering. That will teach me to cache in my work clothes. Will come back in geocache appropriate clothing for another look.
Closest cache to home, so about time I got this one! Found with WaffleKitties
Found it with the kids. A few itchy scrapes to show for it but they got to have a play afterwards. Nice!
Was nearby, so decided to sign this one off. All quiet around the area today thank goodness. TFTC
Third times a charm. This time I avoided being cut to ribbons by sitting back for a while and thinking where the CO would have put it. Sure enough he and I thought alike. I am now savouring the sweet taste of victory. Tftc.
Kjwx came up with the goods while my eldest littlejardisliketardis stood around looking bored. Quite wet underfoot, given the recent rainy conditions. TFTC
Another small victory for myself, JardisLikeTardis and her eldest junior after I hosted a photography event at the former Porirua Lunatic Asylum museum.
Found after a short search. Quite a wet morning which thankfully kept the muggles away. TFTC
This one may have been muggled.
I was driving past the park today and, as the CO, stopped to have a quick check on the cache. I couldn't find it in the spot it had originally been hidden. Either I was struck by momentary blindness or the cache has suffered from major "geo-creep" or it has gone walkabouts.
The fact is it doesn't seem to be there. I will check again in another couple of days time to see if it has mysteriously returned. If not, I will replace it.

Last time we tried this one there were so many people about that we didn't even bother stopping. Today was much better as there was no one about.

Nice easy find. Last time I came here there were just too many people about to even attempt a look.

Wasn't sure about the openness of the park when I first arrived, so went off and did a couple of other caches first before returning when it was slightly darker.
Nice quick find.

After the nearby event, skindo and I decided to find a few caches.
Soon located, although had to spend a while avoiding the local children in the park.

Feeling the need to get out and find a cache (haven't been out for a while ) popped out this afternoon between showers. Quickly located as I spied the cache peeking out from its hiding place. Signed the log and rehid with a bit more natural material so muggles hopefully won't discover its location. TFTC
Cache #998 - and another dot day filled. I had to make two trips to this one though - first time there was a teenager playing hoops by himself nearby. No way I could get to the cache without looking suspicious. Really hoped that when I went back after 10 pm that someone skulking around with a torch didn't look suspicious either, but recovered the canister, signed my name, and was off again quickly. TFTC!
Found in the rain with redants. Felt a bit exposed to the neigbours, not my favourite type of place to search so I sent redants in. Hope it doesn't get muggled by someone wondering what all these people find so interesting amoung the plants.
The weekend has arrived, yay! Saturday caching, nothing better.
Victory was had with this one.
Cache find was straightforward, as per description and clue; cache in order, log signed, then cache re-hidden safely, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

Exactly as advertised - collected in a quick raid to close out a dot day. TFTC !
Tried this once before but MycroMan wasn't with me and their were muggle kids, so drove on.. This time came back with Mycro Man and found the cache after he played on the slides nearby.. Thanks for the cache
#3914. The park was empty today, which made for a relatively quick find. TNLNSL. TFTC.
