SoSad to archive this. We checked today and both waypoint and final cache have disappeared. We also suspect they floated away sometime in the last week with the King tide.

06-Jan-18
No luck today.

My GZ was neaar a tree with water lapping at its roots. Could not even get started on the field puzzle. Global warming?

Next time.......

23-Sep-17
After so much time and so much I give up we finally did it! Oh my goodness that was hard! But it was so amazing it was! Deserves a favourites.

14-Sep-17
Out enjoying the afternoon sun and giving the dog a walk at the same time. This one has been a bit lonely so gave it some company today. Field puzzle formalities quickly done then it was off to the final. Rescued a TB that has been stuck for a while. Thanks for the multi.

10-Jan-17
We will have to come back and try this one again

06-Jan-17
Replaced toolbox with one that did not have a broken lid.

26-Dec-16
The first time I was here it was raining so didn't want to sit too long. Returning today I knew where to look for the first stage but it was exposed beside the track anyway. Lid broken but tools all there. We sat down to solve undisturbed by walkers in this heat - probably around the corner at the beach.
Didn't take too long and off to final. Covered stage one with bark and wood as best we could, lid has been broken as I said but the tools should be ok in the elements.
Thanks very much, was a nice change to solve a field puzzle.

16-Dec-16
Toolbox contents replaced today so there are 21 items again.

13-Dec-16
Couldn't figure out puzzle from container, 6 was missing

12-Dec-16
Found first cache but puzzle incomplete - 1 piece missing? so couldn't get to second

11-Dec-16
We tried our best to peice together some things but ending up failing.

11-Dec-16
Forgot to say few tools missing

20-Aug-16
Having attempted a previous toolbox with out knowing what we were doing, I was a bit apprehensive heading for this one. As it turned out, it was quite simple and we soon had final cache in hand. Dropped off a TB to celebrate.

20-Jul-16
Well that took much longer than it should have - as I sat on the beach and worked out how to use the tools. The sun was starting to set and I wasn't sure what time the gate would shut - as I was about to give up it all suddenly made sense - then a quick stroll to the final gz and the log was signed before high tailing it back to the car. Thankfully I was not locked in. tftc a favourite from me

08-Jun-16
Well, this took a while, but it was a nice sunny day and nobody was around so we didn't mind. Just solved it before three shaggy wet and noisy dogs came running our way. Took a TB out. Haven't come across this type of puzzle before.

21-Apr-16
Worked this one out while doing a circuit of the Island, dropped off trackable here too, well done TFTC.SoBad.

21-Feb-16
Toolbox replaced today with complete set of 21 tools.

24-Jan-16
Still only 21 items (& one of them snapped in half next to it) but enough to find the final cache! Lots of fun with this one, thanks Smile

14-Jan-16
We made a nice bike ride. This is our second time and loved the ride again.
This was a very challenging cache, specially as we only found 20 tools. Still we made the final coords and happy to sign off

11-Jan-16
Great puzzle! A few tools missing, but can still get the clue!

11-Jan-16
As people are finding this we are not rushing to redo the tools. So 20 at present works. We have no idea how individual tools have gone missing.

04-Jan-16
Found with Dr.Davis & Scr0tum. Only 20 tools now.. TFTC!

04-Jan-16
Missing 2 tools still figured it out though. Cheers

04-Jan-16
That was fun 2tools missing TFTC

29-Dec-15
Found! Now only 20 tools remaining.

12-Nov-15
A multi with a toolbox? Sure.. I hadn't intended to go for any walks, but this one kinda tickled my interest.. and I did not regret talking the walk for it.

I soon had the 21 tools in hand and could take them to a quiet spot on the beach to see if they made any sense.. after a little while with frustrations, I finally managed to piece something together, and shortly after, I had the cache in hand. Very good hide. No cammo needed indeed Smile

Found at 01:25 PM - #5931

TFTC Smile

03-Nov-15
My second of two finds on Rough Island this morning.

Most of the MSEBNs and some friends attempted this one over a year ago but did not persist long enough. All was quiet this morning, apart from the nearby birdlife searching for breakfast, so on my hands and knees was I trying to make sense of the tools.

After about ten minutes I think I got everything in order and made my way to the nearby GZ where I found the container had over-wintered very nicely.

We have a heap of TBs to drop off so will return here soon before the summer influx.

Thanks for the nice field puzzle SoBads.

30-Jun-15
Solved the puzzle back in early February, but didn't find the cache then. Success this time though. TFTC.

17-May-15
I did not find it

03-Mar-15
Returned today for another attempt at this cache and no problems at WP1 this time. Sat down on the beach and slowly managed to come up with what looked like some promising instructions. Headed off to GZ and so pleased to come up trumps straight away. I've gotta give this one a favourite - wonderful puzzle (albeit frustrating at times - well, for me anyway) but the reward made it all worthwhile. And let's face it, there are worse places in the world to sit and ponder on a beautiful day in the sunshine!! Thanks SoBad!! Pleased to finally have this one ticked off the list

15-Feb-15
A caching trip to Nelson for the Seagnoid and I, G H 6 7 1 0 has a splitting........wood job to do for a friend so had to call off late yesterday. tS and I decided that caching Rabbit Island by bicycle, culminating in the event later in the day would be just the job. Due to a few big days this week I didn't get round to sorting out 2 M T Bs for us so I had to borrow one from work and t S had to use his road bike, skinny tyres and all.
A nice day weather wise with the sun shining proudly and nary a wisp of wind, almost perfect caching weather and after 6 hours cycling we'd found quite a few of Rabbit Island's caches, yay
A very pleasing multi, a nice take on another hobby in use. One of the tools was missing but we were able to make do without. The lady we'd met earlier stopped to see what we were doing and kept the tools away from her canine muggles
T F T M, Q E F @G Z. Enough acronyms, thanks for the cache and this one deserves a favourite point I reckon

15-Feb-15
While we were finding the WP, StreetWalker's phone beeped - notifications of people attending the Valentines event were already rolling in. What? Are we late? No, there's was still 45 minutes to go. Some geocachers will do anything for a FTF Wink.
We set to work with the field puzzle and after a wee while (the wind was making life difficult), we had sorted out the co-ordinates. As Capperz mentions in his log, even though the cache description states there are 22 items to the puzzle, only 21 were there but seemed to make no difference to the final solution.
A quick find at the final for SW. Always enjoy something a bit different. TFTC.

15-Feb-15
As the cache can be found with the 21 items we will leave it as it is.

15-Feb-15
#9156. This was a fun little field puzzle. We had a piece of A4 paper that worked quite well as a mat to do the solving on (except when the wind got underneath it). Once solved the cache was quickly found. Thanks for something a bit different.

15-Feb-15
[green] There is an event on at Rabbit Island, so Capperz and I thought this is a good opportunity to cache out the island. Couldn't quite do it, but got pretty close. Our start time got delayed as there was a hiccup with bicycles.
Cycled to this place and had a muggle almost join in with solving the problem, after all we were spread out on the path! A slight challenge with one of the tools missing from the start cache, but it was not critical and soon we were on our way to the final. Nice challenge, totally unlike anything I have done before, gets a favourite and a path tag.

11-Feb-15
Thanks for this nice little cache. We had no problems in solving and finding the final, besides the wind which disturbed us in solving the puzzle Smile

05-Feb-15
On a geocaching outing with Wellwishers and HiHopes. Got halfway to finding it.

05-Feb-15
Found phase one, and with friends completed puzzle, Not found main Cache Sad

25-Jan-15
Not what I was expecting to find at the published coordinates, however it was clear what I needed to do to find GZ. Sat down and solved, and lo, GZ presented itself quickly! Thanks! Smile

14-Jan-15
The way point was indeed missing. It was replaced today but now there are 22 items inside. Cache page altered to reflect this.
A trackable dropped.

23-Dec-14
The challenge for me today was finding the toolbox!! GPS soon zoned in to the waypoint but unless I've missed something (very possible!!) there was no sign of a toolbox. I did notice that a tree in the immediate vicinity had some broken branches. And I don't think it's caused by storm damage. Hmmmm??? I'm gonna log a DNF and see what happens. Thanks anyway SoBad, a lovely walk all the same

23-Sep-14
Today I had a bit of work to do out this way and knew this cache was sitting there just waiting for me. If only I'd known how long it was going to take to manipulate the tools to get the result I needed. Initially I tried sitting on the beach and doing it however the wind had other ideas and so a retreat back to the car was made and slowly it all came together. Like the cacher before me I can confirm there are only 20 tools to use however logic makes up for the missing one. An easy find of the final, after a walk there and back again. This one gets a Favourite from me, thanks SoBads.

20-Aug-14
A great cache. We will have to do one like it down South, if thats OK with you. Only 20 items, we are sure we didn't loose one but checked all around area anyway. We were still able to complete the puzzle. A favourite from us.

30-Apr-14
Fun! Got thrown off by the numbers, but got there in the end. Kind wish it had been further away though, quite easy to find.

29-Apr-14
Nice wee puzzle, thanks. Had four of us pondering before we discarded the numbers - trial and error won! Thanks for the hide.

29-Mar-14
Well that was a bit of fun. I imagine this one keeps the horsey muggles over the fence wondering what is going on! Good one, thanks. Topgear01 (and dog).

07-Mar-14
Team geopopNZ assault on the back end of the rabbit. A wonderful Nelson day, great fun on the bikes, and caching to add to the exciting mix. Thanks for your cache - we've had a wonderful day. There's lots more - so we'll be back for more fun on the rabbit!!

20-Dec-13
What a great idea for a cache. We have not seen any like this before. We will have no option but to use a similar idea back where we live. We had a lot of fun doing this cache and it took us a while to get it but then yippee we found the cache. Thanks for a great fun time and cache which gets a well deserved favourite from us.

13-Dec-13
I wished I could give you a fav...ajbenn will when he gets around to logging the find. We spent 2 months travelling through Nelson/Marlborough in our motor home and now have 100's of finds to log. We drove to Rabbit Island and then biked a circuit designed to take in caches along the way. This was huge fun though a few runners must have wondered why we were sitting in the middle of the track. It took a while to solve the puzzle and obtain the new set of coordinates but it felt great when we found the final and signed the log. Very clever camouflage at the end. Thanks for the fun.

13-Dec-13
Found with wandercat. A wonderful challenge and thoroughly enjoyed. CLEVER. A favourite from ajbenn. TFTC

09-Nov-13
[B)] Out cycling with Ducksarse Dave this morning collecting a few caches. Thought we would have a quick look at this one. The puzzle captured our attention and we had to stay and solve it - no trouble locating second cache with the new co-ordinates. Good fun, the first tool-box I have used in quite some time but will look out for more of this sort which do not involve work!! Big Grin. TFTC

09-Nov-13
What a puzzle, but two heads are better than one and with a little help from Gorgeous Goose the problem was solved! Big Grin. Thanks for this bit of fun!

29-Sep-13
What can I say... Brilliant!!!

Required some quiet contemplation before an answer revealed itself.

TFTC

24-Sep-13
nearly did it all in one visit. but the big thunderstorm last week put me off. made a quick find of it this afternoon. before the next storm hits . tftc

07-Sep-13
I knew exactly what to do when we found the first container but it took a while to achieve it. Didn't help when we were muggled by a couple of friendly boxer's and their owners who trampled over our work Surprised. Once complete the cache was soon recovered TFTC definitely worth a favourite

Second time at WP 1. Last time just Ellie and Mr KE and one of us left feeling slightly dumber. Back again with reinforcements in the form of Mrs KE and the father in law. Got lucky and made an instant find but the next visitors may not be - sorry. TwistedSmile After signing the log we assembled our tools and left feeling slightly smarter. Good idea for a field puzzle.
Thanks SoBads for placing this cache.

03-Aug-13
Found while waiting for brother to finish work at nearby Orchard

06-Jul-13
Complete set of tools back in the box.

30-Jun-13
Very very sorry to tell you that the Tool Box is bereft of one of the tools. We did our best to improvise but to no avail. Twisted

30-Jun-13
We hope to sort the tools out in the next week. Will keep this going in case anyone can get what they need with one absent - otherwise wait until a Owners Maintenance note is posted.

05-May-13
awesome cache, thanks

04-May-13
Great cache. A bit tricky:) TTFC

30-Apr-13
The great thing about these toolboxes is that you have no idea what you are going to encounter. Contents of this one were totally unexpected. Great cache and a wonderful series. Straight to the favouries. TFTC #4775

27-Apr-13
Really enjoyed this; glad it was a beautiful day and I wasn't in a hurry!

02-Apr-13
I'm glad I took the field puzzle down to the beach to solve as we had a few people passing by, still managed to sort it out and off the the final, cleaver another fav point from me

31-Mar-13
Worked as a team doing this and didnt take too long for us to work it out,Lucky for us no muggles came along as we were working it out,Didnt take long to find the cache.TFTC

19-Mar-13
Well, this was a bit of fun. Biked out from Richmond this morning to check that I was still alive. All a bit damp around and about to do the field work so I popped through the fence and used a very nice large table thoughtfully provided to do my homework on. Could possibly be used as a horse jump in the weekends! It wasn't too long before I got the smile on my dial. Checked that I still had the right number and put everything back as I found it. A quick find at the new GZ.

26-Feb-13
you deserve a favourite, we deserve a medal!!!!!
loved the tool boxes great caches
thank you very much for the cache and the fun we had.

23-Feb-13
The Toolbox concept is new to us but we are certainly enjoying it. On discovering the contents we quickly decided on a way to divide the labour which seemed to bear fruit very quickly. I'd say we were 5 minutes from finding the first container to the second. Do we get a chocolate fish? Wink TFTC, great fun.

23-Feb-13
We like the toolbox series Smile good fun and a lovely day to be out there. TFTC

23-Feb-13
Dropped TB Smile thank you

23-Feb-13
Yay a toolbox we can solve!! Took a little time but solved and put toolbox back juust in time before some muggles came by. A quick search and we had the log in hand. Nice big container and nabbed the TB, TFTC!!

22-Feb-13
With a late start today for Hazedarus it meant we had time to head out to this cache to see if our suspicion was correct regarding the tools in it, and yup, it was. With so many muggles on the track we chose a spot away from there to have a close inspection of the contents and work out the next step. After yet another passing muggle asked us if we had found something interesting we lied and said no and fobbed her off with a plausible excuse and carried on with what we were doing. It was only a matter of time before we were signing the log at the final waypoint and earning a smiley. TFTC.

22-Feb-13
The intrigue of toolbox caches create lots of excitement and anticipation for us. There was no disappointment. Add dogs and muggles and the picture is complete. We managed to come up with a possible that would have been impossible. Then everything fell into place. A fav. TFTC

22-Feb-13
I love the way Holymu says it was only a matter of time before she was signing the log Big Grin Exactly the same thing happened to me, but there is no way I'm going to get into a discussion of just how MUCH time!!!! Wink - - - I knew exactly what I had to do but it did seem to take a while for it to fall into place. After that the find was pretty straightforward. So. Two great hiding places and a challenging puzzle between. A definite favourite for me. Thanks!!!!

21-Feb-13
CoolCoolCool FTF CoolCoolCool Nice one!! Saw this cache published this morning and as I some other things to do in this direction thought I'd have a go at finding it. Unlike the 2nd toolbox cache, I knew exactly what to do when I examined the contents of the first container. That didn't mean that it was easy though. Putting the pieces together so that the answer was revealed was an interesting process. Eventually, I thought I saw the answer and wandered off to GZ for a quick find and an empty log. TFTC, Biggles.
