Kolour and I organised a long weekend in Canberra to catch up with the great Domsky duo. Of course there was much caching to be done! Off the plane this morning, a CITO, challenge caches and some targeted caches were on the agenda. After quite a while searching around, this very cleverly hidden cache was found by Kolour. The log was full, we squeezed K, W7 & Domsky on the log. Thanks speicmenX for the cache.
Im visiting Canberra from Brisbane with Willis007 for a long weekend with the Domsky duo, our wonderful guides, targeting mainly oldies and challenges. This is my first time geocaching in the ACT.This one took a while to find though it shouldnt have! Very clever. However, the logbook is full but we managed to squeeze our names on. Tftc
We have a couple of Queenslanders visiting this weekend, and today they were out for the UGC series. We found this one on our walk today. Thanks Domsky
Geodad Froggycache, geobrother Rednight2000 and I spent about 20 minutes on and under the bridge but couldn't find it. A colony of wasps made it difficult to search at times.
After searching for about 15min, I was about to leave and literally put my hand on it. TFTC
Here for the mega with Wombatwandering, this was a little bit of a walk from a nearby place to pull up and a quick find. Thanks
Found by Irondale today very quickly while I was under the bridge where I didnt really need to be. Cool cute hide TFTC
Out for an evening adventure with Krispystrips and Hugo. A lovely little adventure. Great to be out caching by torchlight with friends (though Hugo was more interested in the kangaroos than the caches!) Glad to be able to make the find on this sneaky little guy. Thanks for the cheeky little hide!
A quick find today, but probably more luck than anything else, I just happened to put my hand straight on it. While sitting down to sign the log, I was blessed to see a Rakali swim past, my first ever in the wild! Thanks for the cache specimenX
Found with assistance from eriicamurphy as shed done this one before and we were short on time. TFTC!
Went to find geocaches around this area with bobdabuilder97388. We searched for so long and finally decided to get a bit of help from a recent finder of this cache. The hint is very accurate and so are the coordinates! TFTC , great hide
A challenging find on a cold Canberra day. We stopped at the park in Amaroo for a play then went searching for this find.
A search under the bridge was fruitless but found it after a second look.
Thanks for the clever find.

TFTC - and greetings from Tassie.
Found whilst out and about for a walk with a muggley friend/colleague. Bit of a flying visit, so any cache is a bonus.
FLTF.
Thanks, for this caching experience.
Cheers, EPs.

#2182 Dropped passed here after work and finding somewhere to park nearby. Short wander down from the car, or should I say meander! I reached GZ and begun a semi routine search when presented with an area like this. Ah no, not there, or there… or there! I’m not sure where else I could look that might match the hint. So some log diving guided me towards a less considered location where the cache was soon found. Name added to the log and cache returned to where I found it, although it would appear to have previously had a different home. Regardless thanks for the cache specimenX!
#3462 My only find in the Meandering Mirrabei series this afternoon. A little surprised that it was hiding where it was, but logged and replaced as found. TFTC.
A straightforward find here, but more because the cache looks like it's not hidden in the manner or place for which it's designed. The camo is still attached, log is in good condition so - without knowing or being able to work out where it should live - I left it where I found it at the post at the end of the bridge, which is right on the co-ords for me.
Thanks, specimenX.
Thanks, specimenX.
Out and about to enjoy some of that nice sunny weather and do some exercise.
This took much longer than expected but it was a fun and good hunt, well mostly it got frustrating after a while, certainly a nice spot so spent some time. Some encouraging thoughts from a previous finder just kept me going to make the find on my own in the end. Nice place for such a cache makes it quite hard with all the possibilities. A FAVpoint!
Thank you specimenX for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

A DNF for the first one of the day, gave it my best and tested the knees, back and balance to no avail. Will put on my watch list - thanku.
This is a lovely bridge but sadly a DNF for me here. Spent quite some time searching but could not find the cache. Thank you for bringing me here SpecimenX.
Quick stop on the way home, kinda...
This took SO long to find and I searched everywhere. Decided to DNF and on walking away I spotted something and tried it. Ohhh. Found yay! Cool camouflage and now I understand the hint. TFTC!

Missed finding this as we began our stroll near here. Tried again on our way back and found immediately by Mrs TiedyeSmileys

I was out after a multi and a mystery for my calendar today but couldn't resist grabbing this one too. What a sneaky little fellow he is. Nothing like what I was expecting and only found after some time . A great little hide specimenX. TFTC SL
Quick find. Paper log starting to run low as well as partially damaged (either from lots of use or maybe water)
Out and about getting some fresh air and exercise with Duckeedoo! Great camo on this hide
Over from Adelaide to see the inlaws celebrate Cachemas day in a few days time. Subtle and sneaky hide. Nicely done.
Good camo. Found and replaced. First of the morning as I follow the creek for a couple of hours this morning. Tftc!
Thanks for the hint - was looking everywhere and then I saw it! Managed to lose my pen in the creek! So hopefully the photo will do for my log
Found on a ride around the burbs with Lpud. The phone had died at this stage but I decided to have a bit of a look around for it anyway. Not in a usual place and enjoyed the camo. TFTC
Nice afternoon walk on the weekend to do some caching in our area and do the Meandering Mirrabei series. Excellent camouflage and a great find after a search of about 10 minutes. The clues say it all. TFTC and the series of Cache’s.
Accidental find as such, just looking around waiting for clear path.. Great hide!
Went to breakfast event, then Gungahlin Homestead open day, then CITO event. Should have gone home to organise myself for MEGA, but I decided to find a cache, or 3 ... er ... 5 ... And got home after dark - Oops?
TFTC - Nice quick find
I am lichen that bridge...

I looked on both sides of the bridge and clamboured about a bit before finding this one. Tftc.
Tftc. Had a quick look at the start of my night’s caching and couldn’t find it, so meandered off to look for Crinigan’s Cottage. After four other finds, I came back to look again. Was about to walk away with a reluctant DNF, when I spotted the cache.
My third DNF in a row tonight. I thought I understood the hint but still the cache eluded me. I'll just have to come back during daylight and try again. After only successfully collecting 1 out of 4 caches tonight, I'm giving up, getting out of the cold and going home. I shall return!

Found with AlphaDeltaIndigo, Brewmaker and The Bebes.
I have been working towards a self imposed target, with the goal of the upcoming Giga
Event in Cincinnati OH to be my 4,000th milestone. Needing in excess of 200 caches before I fly out to the United States of America in just over a week’s time, I hatched a plan to spend a weekend in our Nation’s Capital to help me reach the required number. I floated the idea out to a few geo-buddies and there was immediate interest, so we made the necessary arrangements and were eager to get going.
It was an early morning start on the Friday. I picked up The Bebes on the way through and we swung by the newly published ‘Whites Creek Wetlands’ Earth Cache (GC7MW51) in Annandale for a quick First To Find to start the trip on a positive note. Continuing on to Brewmaker’s, we hopped in the Brew-mobile, with the bikes on the back, and hit the road towards Canberra. The main target for the first day was to complete the section of the Canberra Centenary Trail (CCT) from Hall to Bonner. It was cold, windy and a little wet, but the mountain bikes ate up the trail and the riders conquered the mountain. In the evening, AlphaDeltaIndigo bused in from Sydney and we relaxed in the warmth of a pub to watch a thrilling Swans victory on the big screen.
The Saturday was almost as full on but the riding was a little easier than the first day. We cycled the length of the Majura Cycleway series and back again, in similar weather conditions, picking up as many caches as we could along the way. After a surprisingly good dinner at a veggo restaurant in Dickson, we continued driving around town to finish up a long day with some more finds.
We woke on our final day of the trip to sunshine and slightly warmer weather. The main objective for the Sunday was to complete as many caches of the University of Geocaching Canberra (UGC) series as we could, as well as others in that area. We struggled on a few (and had to log a Did Not Find on some) but otherwise did well in making a dent in the series. On the way back to Sydney in the evening, we made pit stops in Penrose and Pheasants Nest.
A fun and successful weekend caching with great company. Thanks For The Caches to the respective Cache Owners.

Day 3 of our weekend in Canberra to clear out some of the trails and series. OCW The Bebes, AlphaDeltaIndigo and JordsAU using cycles as our mode of transport. But today we used the Brewmobile as we attempted to grab as many of the UGC series as we could plus any trads/puzzles/multis aong the route. Some great hides and interesting views along the way of the ever-expanding Canberra. Thanks to all the COs for placing these hides. TFTC
Excellent camo. Took awhile to find. Deserves a FP

Our third and final day in Canberra before heading back to Sydney. In the Brewmobile today we hoped to pick up as many of the UGC series as we had time for, plus any other hides nearby.
This one was pretty sneaky. Over, under, repeat but eventually ADI spotted something that needed further investigation.
Lovely park too.

I had a great time wandering the area picking up a variety of caches. This was a particularly tricky one and had me in and out, up an down until I decided it might be a good idea to hone in on GZ and then there it was ! Tricksy little cache and very nicely done. Gets a FP from me. Cache in good condition. Thanks !
#1612. 12 days in a row.
I headed back out for some more caching between lunch and trivia in the evening.
After a failed attempt at #2, I walked down here to try this one. I hunted for a while and checked some previous logs before I eventually laid my hands on it. Very nicely camouflaged.

Noodles22 asked me if i wanted to join him on a caching trip today, and my younger brother Jakeblast tagged along as well.
We managed to find 24 caches, after the long drive and in the heat I thought this was pretty good for us.
Thanks for all the caches.

I begged to join my brothers Noodles22, and Catapult07 on a geocaching day out this morning, and I finally got an account set up to log my finds (after many trips out with Noodles22).
It was a really long day out as we travelled from Sydney down to ACT (and back!) and I can now claim 24 caches to my name!
Thanks for all the caches.

In preparation of completing the year of caching, I had the idea of heading down to ACT for some dense caching grounds and some along the way, but I invited a couple of my geobrothers Catapult07 and Jakeblast along. But with the long drive down they were accompanied with their Ipads, and it was difficult to separate them from the devices when it was time to leave the car to find caches.
In the end we found 26 (half of what I was hoping for).

We looked for a good 15 mins without luck and decided to come back after a lap around the lake!
Sure enough jersey04 made the quick find on our return. Happy days and a favourite. TFTC.

Hi from WA! We were in Canberra this weekend for a local cycling race, the National Capital Tour. I had some free time this afternoon so I took the car for a drive and this was close to our accommodation.
Unfortunately this one was too good for me! Try as I might, even with the help of some local cachers, I couldn't spot this one. I did see an echidna though, so it was worth the trip!

Crossing the walking bridge my GPS kept jumping. I looked around thinking it should be a bolt or gum or sticker right, easy to find? Hmmm. I looked and looked. Twice my GPS dropped to 0 and always on the same side but never the same place, so pushing my fear of having an unlocked car parked some distance away I determined to find it.
I found a loose nut, which I inadvertently dropped and it rolled into the stream, so hoped that wasn't somehow it. It couldn't be right? Far too small to hold even the smallest log. Finally I sat and read past logs. No, no real help. So let's think. In Mackay where did they hide things? Ah! The light came on and there it was, very cleverly hidden.... of cause utilizing canberra's favourite objects. Tftc. Enjoyed it more than most...and almost found myself swimming in the process. Lol

TFTC. Beautiful day caching with my wifey. Signed DSD and BI. We almost gave up on this one... i sat down and it dawned on me. Well played!!!
Clever, clever! Had to give it a Fav. Thanks for all the work you have put in to these caches. Kutgw
Out on a cache run with Youban on a chilly, frosty morning. Very clever hide! Favourite point for this one. So smart. Tftc specimenX!!!
In the area today at lunchtime and took the opportunity to walk across to this cache. On such a beautiful day it was great to be outside and the walk through here was equally as nice today. Very quiet of people so had a good search, a really thougher search before spotting just what I needed. Obvious in hindsight as usual but a clever little hide that had me working for it, I do like these types! Thanks for the cache specimenX!
I had to drop my daughter off at a friend's place nearby and had the folding bike in the back of the car, so a little ride along Mirrabei Drive seemed the wise thing to do.
Seeing that I was getting near this one, I stopped the bike, saw something interesting and the geo-instincts told me to check it out. Without luck and instinct this three second find could have taken a lot longer. TFTC - very clever

Saturday 10 September 2016 - rugged up for an overcast windy wet and cold Spring day walk for 3hrs. Found 11 from 11 caches after enjoying the country side within suburbia. Loved the Meandering Mirrabei series as they were each unquie and somewhat challenging to locate. Thx muggle husband. TFTC.
Out with just a cacher while doing some errands and stopped off here to grab the cache.
No muggles nearby so we could spend the time required to suss this one out.
Thanks for another cache specimenX

What a day!! Nine caches, and a bit of caching adventure. I've only just realised that this cache was part of the adventure. It's an absolutely beautiful late winter's day in Canberra. Sunny, cool, a little breeze, just right for a walk and a caching arvo. My friend Jen is crook, as is one of her kids, so I've got her GeoCavoodles Buzz and Boo with me for a walk, together with the famed GeoSchnauzers.
Thanks to the clue, I found this one easily. Great hide though. I'm giving this one a favorite point for the series and the adventure. Thanks, Specimen X. Now to cross the creek, and go back for 4, 5 and 6. But wait, I have to stay on this side, I've lost the GeoCavoodle strings.

11:15pm 4/8 - great camo, would definitely miss this if not for the hint (valid use in the dark). TFTC specimenX
After over 6 hours of caching/hiking yesterday, we felt like something a little more sedate today - so went for a 5+ hour bike ride/run with The Woofer instead! We collected 31 caches (leaving something behind in almost every single one) and ran/rode just over 24km. We rode through Amaroo, Forde and Gungahlin, around Yerrabi Pond - and on two occasions dipping ourselves IN the pond! Exhausted and completely covered in duck poo, we finished the day with fish and chips by the lake in Yarralumla. And despite being confused for Poke-hunters more than once, it was great day!
This one was a great hide! Luckily we saw the "roof" quickly, but we can see how it could take a while! TFTC specimenX!
