Found myself driving down this road on my way to chess and figured I might as well grab a cache if the universe allowed…this one fit the bill nicely!

This is a little patch of Canberra I’ve never explored despite living relatively close so I’ll need to come back and check it out more thoroughly one day soon.

Sneaky little hide in amongst the grass that has clearly been lapping up every drop of rain it’s been able to! The cache itself was quite wet, and the log barely signable but it’s just about surviving. Great clue! Thanks for the cache.

Out today for a big bike ride. My goal was to complete the Canberra Centennial Trail - Section 7B multi cache. Big ride and actually left at 2 o'clock because we had cousins over so I could only leave when they leave. Well that was a bit of a mistake as this section of the track wasn't exactly easy and ended up taking me about 7 hours. In the end I had to get picked up because it was too dark for me to continue. Got some good caches today while heading down the CCT trail, as well as one that filled a hole in my D/T matrix which is always nice. Great day and thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining their caches so others can find them. TFTC!

TOTAL HAUL FOR TODAY: 14 CACHES SPREAD OVER 4 TYPES

A fun fact (maybe relating to this cache): Space smells like seared steak!

(just to make the log reading more interesting and as they say, knowledge is power)

THIS CACHE:

Took a bit longer as there weren't as many obvious hiding spots. TFTC Rapidlywild!

After making the morning commitments I had, I made the trip over to Canberra to attend the ‘20 Year Anniversary and Christmas Event - hosted by Oz Mega Committee’. After my however long trip with included a quick stop off at ‘Gold Creek Macca’s’, I was the first to arrive at the event, other than the hosts. After greeting them and signing the unique log-sheet, again first, I met up with the other attendees as they arrived. From there, the games begun… lots of unique puzzles, repeats of others and of course our train rides. Big Grin Lots of yummy food from the canteen and a great cake for dessert. Big Grin It was then time to do some geocaching along the way home. These caches started with the closest to the event and eventually further away. It was then time to hit the road for my trip home. TB visit on all caches. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found and for allowing them to bring me and others enjoyment. Big Grin TFTE & TFTC’s Big Grin

Another weekeend, another map cleanup trip with Aquilus1. After spending many months on puzzles the last few weeks has been all about collecting. My sixth trip up Issac's Ridge, please no one else put up more puzzles here....I met Aquilus1 at the top of Long Gully Road to pick her up and drove back to the other end of the ridge, in O'Malley..... once up on the ridge we only had to come down a few times for caches.

AFter the ridge it was lunch at Erindale, which makes 3 or 4 weekends in a row we have eaten down there.. such variety. Then back down Long Gully Road to Mugga Way to grab a bunch more along the road and in Cullum Brae.

Thanks for all the hides and the the CO's for placing and maintaining.... Noikmeister, Darksidedan, Rapidlywold, Tankengine, Tealby, BatGirl & Winterdragon. Quite a variety of puzzles and hides!

Last NT one for me

02-May-20

The container has a small crack in the lid. The contents wasn't bone dry, but also not that bad given the rain in the last three days. I have put the logbook into a new ziplock bag.

As it's the geocaching birthday weekend with GPS technology turned on to the public 20 years ago today and the first cache hidden 20 years ago tomorrow, I thought I should find a cache today and tomorrow.
After I found a cache in Phillip, I decided I should really do 20 caches over the weekend, 10 today and 10 tomorrow. By the time I got home today I had logged 15, plus 3 DNFs. This one is 5/20.
Lid cracked new bag

I made a real hash of this one but once at GZ the cache was quickly found and yes the hint made real sense. It helps if you're on the right side of the fence, though it was probably easier to retrieve from where I was. TFTC TNLN SL

Now at Queanbeyan for the Clear Waters Mega we headed out today with Tassie Trekkersto find a few caches. It is hard to know where to start, there are som many to choose from. As we were heading to another area we spotted this series and collected a few on our way to somewhere else. TFTC

Pulled up only metres away from the cache, quickly jumped out of the car and made my way over to spot the cache fairly quickly. Enjoying the history on the cache pages, lots of suburbs with quite interesting names in Darwin too! A good idea for a series Smile

Thanks!

It's International Geocaching Day - so what better way to celebrate it than finding a cache not too far from home. There was a freezing cold wind and drizzly rain today so a quick drive find was just what was needed. Left a lucky Chinese "Year of the Rat" heart shaped token. TFTC 2BluFish

The Monday evening Omnia walk explored Callum Brae Nature Reserve today which gave me the opportunity to find 11 geocaches around Long Gully Road and Mugga Lane on the way there. A quick stop but then where is it? Hmm, unlike others this did not jump out straight away. All I could see was lots of muggle rubbish. Grab some to do an individual CITO event Smile then as I looked around I literately nearly stepped on this cache. Opps. Thankfully I missed and cache was in tact. Tftc!

Missed this one when I drive down to the tip last time. Stopped in today. TFTC Rapidlywild.

24-Jun-17
As I continued along Mugga Lane this was my fifth stop. There was plenty of space to pull in safely well off the road here.
It was an interesting spot as there were lots of small birds busily moving around in the trees here in the sun and I spent a couple of minutes watching them before moving to the cache.

Just as I stood there a car stopped right beside me. I couldn't believe it. Was there a problem with me being here? No it wasn't a cop. Was it another cacher? How lucky would that be to meet a local cacher. I looked at the muggle, no just someone typing on their phone so I grabbed the cache and stood there with my back to the muggle while I signed the log then replaced the cache as the muggle drove off. I'm not even sure she saw me.

Out with dty73 looking for some wet weather terrain caches today, and the ones in the area here looked good. With just a slight drizzle from time to time a nice quick park and grab was ideal. Thanks for the cache Rapidlywild, did like the clue for this one!

Saturday 3 December 2016 - a hot Summer afternoon walk in the high twenties for approx. 2 hrs finding relief from the heat only when the clouds hid the sun from view. Found 5 from 7 caches today and will be back to find these 2 and others over the next couple of weeks. The grass is so high that it's scary snake country - maybe early morning is best? After being stuck inside for 2 days (torrential rain!) we decided a nice easy day of caching was in order. We chose Callum Brae and surrounds since we knew the ground would be soggy and didn't want to tackle any big hills today! We had to leave The Woofer at home, but enjoyed the strangely warm weather (both just wearing t-shirts!) and had some fun finds.

Found quickly with no problems. TFTC!

Just down the road from the other one - of course I had to stop for this one too Smile

Another one done. Yay! I found this as part of a daily streak I am working on - almost 3 months now. The first month wasn't so bad, the 2nd month got harder, and now it's getting more challenging to make sure I don't miss a day.

I love the challenge of the geocache cache hunt - read the notes, decipher the cache requirements, and go searching for the hide. My new GPS is working great and it has made my geocaching experience so much simplier and more fun.

Thanks go to Rapidlywild for placing this cache and maintaining it. It's a great contribution to the Geocaching community and much appreciated. I enjoyed finding this one. This cache was another "Found it" for me. TFTC! Cheers. [Blue]Jump Pilot [/Blue]Cool
