Wasn't sure where to look. Very overgrown here. Found the fence post but not much else
Found the post but not the cache, there are a couple of survey pegs close by I wonder if it has gone.
1811. A very old post and definitely no longer the entrance to the trail with a new parking lot a little bit further up the road. TFT(sneaky post)C.
I found the cache lying on the ground next to the post. I’ve put it back on the post at a spot that seemed convenient !
Quick stop on my way past . Will have to come back to walk the track another day.
With our time at the beach now at and end as the tide had receded and grandkids were tiring it was time to head home, but first some caches 'on the way' This was only a couple of kms from the beach so after a quick drive we parked across the road and I headed over to GZ. Took me aaaages to spot the hide but eventually it was sighted and signed and replaced.
We had planned this weekend to head up to Northland to catch up with our son and his family, and in retrospect glad we chose Saturday rather than Sunday, esp after going into lockdown for a fourth time on the Sunday morning! In truth there was only one cache I was especially bothered about finding and in doing so I doubled my PWGT finds! We had a nice time in and around the Waipu area, and spent a good few hours on Langs Beach in the blazing sunshine. Also got a few more Riser caches because . . . . . it wouldn't be a trip to Northland without some Riser caches!!

Didn’t take long to spot this cache which blends in well. This was the last of the 4 caches in this circuit and we opted to walk back along the road as the track was very muddy.
Enjoyed today around Mangawhai the landscape, caches coffee and company from tramyard. TFTC
Wow that was an expensive convoy that just drove by a mixture of McLaren and Lamborghini..nice old post ..thanks Riser
Found the correct post in the manuka. Nice specimen. Thanks for bringing us here Riser5
Nice find while in the area with tmann421 today
Enjoying the trip north and the caches
Signed log as tm/ww NZ

Nice find with woolwood9 today.
We enjoyed the drive / walk around the area.
Stamped logs as tm/ww NZ which may just look like a black smudge on plastic logs!
TFTC
*Safe parking across the road, bit overgrown but cache in good order. Co-ords are correct.*

You should avoid this cache very sketchy on open country road cars go very fast
Convinced we were in the wrong place- but after some rummaging in hedgerows we located and logged. Tftc and merry Christmas
Found on our way past on our TA thru-hike, day 21. Cache took a little searching for, as it was on the ground.
Needed to trust the co-ords and one's instincts - otherwise time and energy gets wasted! A good cache TFTC
Got to it searched thought I had the wrong post went back and this time got the right angle to spot it TFTC
Have replaced paper as was soaked. Also moved put of hole filled with water.
Good hide though
Good hide though
After a failed attempt in the rain and dark last night we returned to find it sitting in a muddy puddle. The paper was soaking, so has been replaced and position changed to be a bit more long term sustainable but in the same location.
Parked at the car park close by and took a short walk around the track to collect the caches close by.Arrived at the gz and then saw the old post and then spotted what we were after.Never would of known we could of started our cliff top walk here.
The weather was just right, so I took two days to go up to Waipu to get in some Geocaching. Also, I wanted to make sure all my camping gear was in order for next month's Mega in Wellington.
I can see why the last cacher had difficulty. If you don't look from the right angle, the cache is invisible. TFTC.

FINALLY found old post!
Who would even know a track starts here when signage on ground hidden by grass!

Out in the Mangawhai area and now that the grotty weather had moved on, decided to stop off and look for this handy cache, whilst passing here,. The long grass was still a bit wet, but after being misled by one old post, the correct one near GZ was soon spotted and the cache was quickly located in the hint location. TFTC
We had some difficulties finding this cache, but at the end we put our names on the logrol.

Taking the scenic route back to Auckland and picking up a couple of caches along the way. This one fills in a missing spot in our 'South 36 Challenge' which has been progressing rather slowly. No problems once we found the overgrown track entrance. TFTC
Headed out to see the area and pick up some smileys with my interested muggle dad today. Pulled in to the side road opposite and walked over to have a look. Nek minute a new Audi pulls up and the driver calls out to us. My immediate thought was a lost rich Aucklander asking for directions - couldn't have been more wrong, it was Mr Nathan (of Lion Nathan) asking if we were ok. Very impressed that he bothered. He's an awesome dude in my mind now. Was a bit of work to get in to the start of the track (is rather overgrown) and I had to remind myself that there are no snakes in NZ. TNLN, TFTC Riser5
The sign in the picture is down (in the long grass) but we found it. Quite soggy inside cache.
Out and about with my friend Lis's crew to find some caches. Followed the distinctive track through the grass and what do you know, an old post. Log was wet, smelly and full. TFTC.
We pulled off here to re-look at the Langsview Track cache with the big gates. Decided not to go for that one and realised this cache just across the road. Quick find but it was wet and the log was full. TFTC
On my nice trip to Northland today I came along this road and stopped for this cache. The plants around are quite high but I was able to find it. But the logbook is totally wrecked (see the photo) so I couldn't enter my name.
Thanks a lot for the cache.

Nice quick find whilst in the area on holiday. Could not sign log as it was full and I did not have a spare. Log was damp also. TFTC.
Entrance to walkway is overgrown, but found the old post. Cache is very wet. Managed to sign it, don't know if it will stick. TFTC.
A massive day ahead... Today's adventure requires 50 caches with at least a kilometre of separation. It's also a Dot Day for me... And we are interested in finding any caches that were published within a week of today... No problem! Out with Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We have a planned route that will take us as far north as Waipu (Northland).
We wondered how much daylight was left... We easily located the old post, but the cache was not so straight forward. It seems that a hole has opened up at the base and is now full of water. The cache was actually swimming and showing signs of water damage. This will need the CO's attention. TFTC.

Frost at home this morning and 2 degrees and today is going to be a biggie for us. Planned to attempt our challenge of 50 caches a kilometre or more apart, problem is we have almost cleaned out all caches within 100km's of home so arranged with Hemi (Squirrel Nutcase) to pick up at 6am and head north. For some reason I was up at 3.15am, so this just added more time to my day. Caching was a little sparse until we got to about Silverdale. State Highway 1 was very busy and with caches on both sides of road, watchful eyes were very important.
6.10pm - This cache is in need of urgent care. Cache was hanging in water and log all wet, could be repaired and lifted a little higher. SLTFTC

This weekends little adventure was in the company of HKCB (as we'd both been given leave passes by our respective partners) so off we set.
The primary goals this weekend were to collect as many of the earthcaches as time would allow, the two virtuals, and complete both the requirements for the S35 & S36 challenges. Mind you this did not stop us working to collect anything else that we could find as time allowed.
It was a great trip with the weather playing its part so that we saw a great variety of countryside between caches and far too little sleep.
THe result was 1600kms (over 48 hours), 189 caches (35 hours caching) & 4 hours sleep, not bad for a couple of beginners. THanks to all the CO's and those that maintain the caches for us to collect on our too brief tour of the north.
Very nice drive through the countryside in the dark and not too much traffic to be concerned with, would be interesting to come back in the day time to see what I've missed, more importantly, what caches I've missed.
Thanks for the placement

I was staying in Mangawhai with a muggle friend so took her out to show her what geocaching was all about. This was our first stop and a nice easy find on a hot summer's day. It sure is an old post!
thanks to all the owners of the geocaches that we found today between Mangawhai Heads and Hikurangi ... we enjoyed all the beautiful places! TFTC and greetings from Belgium.
Heading North to Whangarei I was happy to make some stops at beautiful spots and to find some cool caches on the way
Thanks to the owner for placing and maintainig this little beauty - Cheers from a German visitor!

Found it together with SL_Wayne during our amazing holidays here in New Zealand.
Thanks for the cache!!
Thanks for the cache!!
Planned to do the Walkway today but with only one car decided to look for this cache on the way back. Only made it almost as far as the top of the Tanekaha Walkway when I twisted my foot and had to come back - I'd never have made ir further and then all the way back. Took long enough to get back to the car from where we were. Anyhoo...this cache was not in the road side when we found it and I was quite stumped (hah) until GAR came in from the other side and told me it was right there - back on road side now.
Could find this one looked for ages gps was fluctuating too much to be too accurate will come back another time
Today we headed from Mangawhai Heads to Waipu Cove finding caches along the way. We enjoyed our drive around the lush green countryside.
Todays trip was with a new geocacher TuiMarie.
Thanks for placing this cache Riser5
Good old totara .. built to last on the fence to know where...Although we note they have now moved the track entrance back up the hill from mangawhai with flash car park and track to suit city slickers..
Waiting with some friends, for a friend at the start of the walkway. Darn it was cold..but beautiful with the frosty grass. Found ok, nice disguise. Thanks
I was up North today to do the Mangawhai Coastal walkway trail and decided to leave super early and head to Mangawhai via Waipu and pick up a few caches along the way. No problems finding this cache on the way, TFTC!
Have hiked the Te Araroa trail from here back to Mangawhai Heads but haven't ever done the Brynderwyn Hills Walkway portion. Will have to put that on the To Do list some time. Nice quick find. TFTC.
Thanks for another quick find. I was honked at be the Paradise Shell ducks, the whole time I was here. TFTC
A huge old post. Quite happy with the driveby as no time to walk up hills today.
Many thanks
Many thanks
Nice quick find here and just out of view of the farmer on his tractor in the neighbouring paddock. TFTC!
