Very fun scramble up the hill to find this one today while walking Kittys Gorge. Very appropriate name today as well with the wind howling through the sheok trees
Reminds me of doing the Gnome and Ant series a few years ago when I was here last, ill have to come back again

Walking through the casuarina forest was a pleasant change. Getting close to GZ, I thought to myself, those needles will be slippery on the rocks. One minute later, I was on my bottom, bleeding from my hand in a couple of spots......
Great container = favourite point added
Today was my second day in Gnome country. I did the traditional series a while back hoping to get a clue to find these Gnome Hunters caches. Funny, I didn’t need to and could’ve combined my journey first time around. I ended up walking 8.5km and climbing 472m to find 12 GH caches and six traditionals. An awesome day for a walk and I did it now as it was cooler (only after seeing a tiger snake two days ago at Beeliar Regional Park).

We worked our way across the ridge from a nearby Gnome hunter working our way along the roo trails. Once at gz Leega made a nice quick find. We added our names to your log and returned your cache back to where it hides. We sat back and enjoyed the view before moving on to the next one. It’s always nice to do a welfare check on one that hasn’t been found for awhile and happy to say this one is doing just fine. TFTC Allied Pranksters.
Taking on some more of the gnome series this morning with axell33 and the geopups. Winter caching here is a much better idea than our last run in summer! Our third one on this run and we are all feeling the effects of this difficult terrain. So happy to find the cache and sit to take in the views. It is a great spot, once you are here! Thanks for the cache and greetings from Baldivis.
DNF 6-10-2019 The kids and l had fun taking the hard steep non-existent trail up the hill but this one beat us as we needed get back down so had to stop searching before all possibilities were exhausted.
After a disappointing encounter with Snrif Retep's Last Known Whereabouts by OOH YEH/firnsy, found this effortlessly. For its simplicity and directness a fav is in order here! SL TFTH Allied Pranksters.
A hard slog lead to our favorite kind cache container
A big and enjoyable day out in Gnome territory with Team Red Roo. A good haul of 14 caches, a mixture of Gnomes, Gnome Hunters and APs.
TFTC this is find # 5448 for us.

Hi there Allied Pranksters - I came here today with Frank (Fratra) to attempt the Serpentine Gnome series. After several minutes we formed a plan of attack and began our day. This cache was #1. The container and log are in good condition - SL. Thanks to Allied Pranksters for this cache - our find #6072.
Out with Chooke, Bundy88 and Funky Monkey to do the Gnome series. Great views. Tftc
Came from the path below and climbed up. Great spot and an ammo tin as a bonus!
Now how the hell do I get outta here!

Today we completed the last leg of the civilisation tribe series all bar one pesky DNF, which we really enjoyed! Love the thought that goes into these caches, and the bush serenity helps aswell. We completed the tribes series early and then made our way to ant and gnome land.
We started well enough completing the ants series whilst collecting some of the various gnome hunter caches aswel which was a bit of a bush bash even straight from the path. We finished up grabbing the serpentine vista LPN cache at the very end, a nice touch to grab a 2001 cache. After grabbing the final on the way back to the parking waypoint we decended into hell.
Not having Read the cache listing we decided on a way to best approach the series using some satellite maps and some gut feeling. Don't do this. Read the listing. (After all steve usually prepares enough and reads about trails prior to completing)
What eventuated was hours of hard slog. Up and down, under and over and for the most part through. Through thick bush that two big blokes at times punched, kicked and generally bush bashed our way through.
Apparently We did the gnomes backwards . With some slight deviations going straight line caching from cache to cache. Again, not recommended. Read the cache page. Either way it won't be easy!!
About 5 hours of misery, mud, thick bushes, scratches. The last 100m to the path was bad, very bad. We didn't follow the directions. It was so bad Steve was tempted to walk in the creek to get back to the track. The last 300m to get back to the track took nearly an hour.
Safe to say we didn't get all the gnome hunter caches, but did manage to get the guardian gnome cache.
Being suckers for punishment we decided to go and grab a couple of others on the way home as there was no way we were grabbing the remaining gnome hunter caches an a couple of APs. They will have to wait.
We picked he perfect day for it. Max of 16 degrees, good weather and good company helped us amass nearly 50 finds for the day, including several caches that hadn't been found for up to 15 months!
I'm sure firnsy is probably sitting back in NZ having a chuckle at this log. On a side note we did replace some damanged containers, added log sheets to help the maintainer.
It would leave a big hole in any WA Cachers CV ti have not completed the gnomes.
Won't be back this way until next winter as reptiles will be back out soon. Thanks for the memories.
I would normally say TFTC or thanks for the cache in my log. I'm not sure if i want to say thanks for today's caching adventure!!

Great spot here! Glad this one is still in play! Snrif Retep still nowhere to be seen.
good hiding place hard to get down though well of the beaten track A BEAUTIFUL VIEW
Coming from Snrif Retep, I overshot this by several metres and had to climb back up to it, which was awkward as I needed 2 hands but didn't want to ditch the trusty staff I had acquired. Coords good thankfully as lots of potential hiding spots here. Took a moment to enjoy the surrounds before tackling the harder half of my trek. Could hear laughing at the falls as if it was mere metres away. TFTC.
Second trip out to find some more caches in the gnome hunter series and a few others scattered around the Serpentine hills. Well the route looks good on paper but turned out to be a little tougher than expected. Picked up a few cuts and bruises on the way here between caches. Once I arrived at ground zero the cache had slipped down the hill and was out in the open. I placed a few rocks to keep the cache in place but given the slope they may also migrate further down the slope. many thanks for the cache, we left something extra in the cache , took nothing.
Enjoyed the bushwalk getting here via makeshift kangaroo trail, and leaving via large rockface. TFTC
I've been eying off the caches in this area for quite some time but just haven;t got around to doing them. I had everything planned and ready to go last weekend but then something came up and I had to delay until today. I targeted the Serpentine Gnome, Gnome Hunter, Serpentine Ant Trail plus a few others. In the planning stage for the caches I wasn't looking forward to doing two loops to first pick up the Gnomes caches and then go back to pick up the Gnome Hunter caches so had a go at cracking the gnome code - and succeeded. This enabled me to plan a route that looked to minimise the distance whilst avoiding going up and down hill too many times. On paper the route I came up with was just over 10km. I started just before 7am and starting at the wrong caches for my route so I did a bit of backtracking to get everything back on course. I ended up getting back to the car about six hours later. It was then that I found that I'd lost the details required to find the Guardian Gnome so I set off again to redo the 6 Gnome caches and recollect the required info. The bonus to redoing these caches was that the views which had been shrouded in cloud earlier were now visible and there were some great views to be had. Finally another hour later I had the Guardian Gnome in hand. In the end the 10km planned route ended up being close to 18km on the ground.
Thanks Firnsy for the great caches in the area.

A few of weeks ago I got a message from KrabiBoy asking if I wanted to set a date to head up to Gnomesville with him and straight away I replied in the affirmative. Sometimes you make decisions in your life that you later regret, at times today that was the case.
We left the parking way point for 'Gnomes 1' at about 6:15am and did two loops picking up a few others in the process. We got back to the cars the 2nd time about 7 hours later bloodied and bruised and both with a little less dignity intact.
I'm yet to comprehend firnsy's state of mind while placing some of the caches in this series but it is definitely a day that will not be forgotten, thanks so much for your efforts and the other like minded CO's in placing caches in this spectacular area.
Made our way more or less by a direct route from 'Snrif Retep's Last Known Whereabouts' and I'm sure the terrain rating didn't have this route in mind, it was a little treacherous with all the pine needles on the rocks and all. Ended up with the buttocks closest to the ground a couple of times. Good to find a nice sized cache once at GZ though.

I'm looking forward to meeting other geocachers in Busselton at the 'WA GOES BIG IN 2015' event. Registrations now open.

A month or so ago, I was looking at my map and thought it may be time to start clearing a few smilies through Gnome Country. I had a look at the list of finders and saw that Granett wasn't among them, so together we hatched a plan to come down and spend the day gnome hunting.
We met up at the suggested waypoint at 6am, with the intention of completing the caches in 3 loops, returning to the car after each loop to cool down and then go again. We managed to complete one loop and halfway through the second, we decided to head back the 'easy' way. The easy way turned into a long slog up a neverending hill to get to the downhill section. I did enjoy myself, although 2 days later, I am still pulling splinters and other bits and pieces from my arms and legs.
Thanks for placing and maintaining these caches firnsy, it is good for the cachers of Perth to have the opportunity to hunt for these if they wish. I did really enjoy finding an ammo tin here, knowing that most of the caches were likely to be different containers. TFTC Allied Pranksters

CAme over from Snirf reteP. Didn't make the mistake of a direct line and went up and around for a pleasant enough walk in. Whilst sitting here I could here a group of walkers I thought were close but as it turned out were on the path from the bottom up the the Serpentines vista.
I dropped a Belken coin in the cache. It sis Unactivated and is swag. So th eperson who pickes it up can send us an e-mail for the activation code.

While in the area hunting Gnomes I decided to grab some other caches in the area - this was one of them . I approached this cache using the most direct route from Snirf Retep's Last Known Whereabouts, there were a lot of slippery sections (pine needles are not stable underfoot). However; the cache was easy to find once at GZ. A great sixed container too . TFTC Allied Pranksters
Out today to collect the next three Gnome Hunters. Detoured to pick up the caches we had missed on previous Gnome hunts. Approached this one from Snrif's Last Known Whereabouts. Playing mountain goat again sliding over the pine needles. Keeping an eye out for things that go slither. I seemed to have a knack for finding them.
Bit of a search before IQO found the cache where I thought I had looked. Now to escape from here and find those Gnomes. TFTC Allied Pranksters.

Headed off bright and early this morning, collected urch on the way, then headed up into gnomeland. I had found all of the ants and five of the gnomes shortly after they were first published, but hadn't returned to complete the gnome series until today. Met the Luna Maya team at the suggested parking spot before heading back up the ant trail for some of the newer gnome hunters. Of course we had to come and collect this one while we were in the area. Although this cache was quite large, it took a bit of time to locate it. Mr Luna Maya came to our rescue. More fantastic views from this one too.
Sorry about the generic logs, but am still exhausted after the expedition, as I am sure you intended. Photos to follow.
Thanks for yet another great adventure and the sense of achievement on earning this smiley face Allied Pranksters

My first foray into Gnome and Ant territory! Came today in company with the Luna Mayas and Mistraluna, with this being a detour from those series. I am thinking by now that only a sadist could dream of placing caches in these locations. [xx(] Staggered down to the prison, wishing many unspeakables on Snrif Retep all the way.
Then managed to sneak a short rest before being urged into action once again to track down more gnomes.
Thanks for the cache Allied Pranksters.

After studying the CO's suggestions of the order in which to tackle the Gnome series plus the other three caches on the way, Mrs iluvtrekking and I gave explicit verbal and written instructions to our geo-hubby's how to tackle this series with Jacobscrew. They nodded and mumbled agreement, but once on their way they ignored our advise, headed from #1 directly to #6, making the whole series a terrain rating 8+. They returned three hours later to our cars parked on Firns Road, stuffed, bloodied, bruised, exhilarated and very smug! Thanks AP.
Teaming up with RichLink and ILuvTrekking for a great day. A chilly morning to head out and doing a fantastic series. the boys out doing the Gnome series. tough climb on the hills and we just followed the GPS rather than the instruction listed.
Found with richlink and Jacobscrew whilst looking for gnomes in the area. Nice size cache Left Sir Knight TB. Thanks Allied Pranksters.
I forgot to log these the other day so I came back today to finish off the area ....the weather was a little cool to start but as I climbed from the car park things started to heat up and I'm glad I threw the camelbak on .....THTC

We were starting to huff and puff by the time we reached here but the walk has still been invigerating (thats the word we decided on wasnt it Jason ??)
We found GZ pretty quick and the three of us started hunting around. Jason came up trumps in an area I thought I had checked (but obviously not well enough)
Ahwell, thats enough of a detour, back to our friends the gnomes.

Taking a break from the gnomes, this was the last one on our little detour . The terrain again was a little challenging, but we still managed to pick a reasonable path to GZ. It felt a little odd walking over all of the pine needles towards the end, but it made us realise where the cache name came from. We all set about the hunt, and after a while, i found the prize well hidden in a place that Kyzabra had searched earlier ... or not . We added our name to the logbook and took a few snaps of the great view, before moving on to a waiting gnome a short distance away ... TFTC Allied Pranksters
We need to capture Snrif Retep & make him answer for his crimes. We do not like gnomes. We took a pirate & left a multicolour pen. SL TFTC Allied Pranksters
[:(!] Went out after lunch to do some more of the SWH Series and fitted this one in before I started the series, arrived at the gate and I would have to pay $11 for the privilege of packing closer to GZ, I turned the geocar around and opt to park at the gate and walk the extra distance saving me some money for the 45 minutes that I would spend on looking for this cache, walked through the car park and up the hill to GZ, on arrival at GZ I had the cache in hand in a matter of minutes.

The initial plan was to park on Scrivener Road and take the easier, albeit longer, route in. However, on arrival at the Falls Road turnoff, I changed my mind and decided to go in from below. Parked outside the gate and hit the road. Took a shortcut to save walking the big loop in the road. Headed up-hill when I was within 150 metres of the cache as the crow flies - and also 60+ metres vertical distance. Overshot the mark and found myself about 5 metres higher than where I needed to be ... I guess I was enjoying the climb . Descended to the correct level and soon had the cache in hand.
After replacing the cache, I decided to follow the contour in an easterly direction as I thought there might be a gentler slope for my descent ... I ended up a bit higher up and found a good hiding spot for a new cache ... watch this space. The descent from the hiding spot I found isn't as steep as from this place, but it wasn't a walk in the park.

(chwiliwr team catch up log)
FTF Saw this cache when it was published and had to get ready then get some fuel so we had enough to get there and back. Arrived at the gate and was getting ready when Chwiliwr noticed another car pull up behind us. They didn't get out of the car right away so we started walking up the road towards the cache.
We had only gone 50m or so when we met a local. Tried to have a conversation but they were not talking. Took a photo and then continued on. Chwiliwr noticed a torch behind us just after this but not after that. I knew that there must have been an easy way up the hill but, in the dark, couldn't see it so we just started heading up the hill directly towards the cache. Made good time and thought that the other torch was in front of us by this stage but when we finally got to GZ and made a quick find the log was still empty so we got joint *FTF*
Chwiliwr took TB and prize and then we started back down again. We tried to take an easier but longer path but it turned out just to be longer and not easier at all. In the end it took 3 times as long to come down the hill as it took to go up it. Great to do night caching.
Thanks Allied Pranksters for the cache and prize.

Saw this one come up and off I was! Until I couldn't go any further as the gates were closed... But then I saw another car there and I think it may have been Chwiliwr??? so I decided to go ahead and go for it and got half way and chickened out! Was so quiet, dark and creepy and didn't have the rest of the gang, just myself!
But I shall be back during the day!
Thanks for the hide!
