Lid cracked and cache was filled up with water. Have drained and placed upside down but needs maintenance.
Nice easy find at the end of our long walk. SL. + a smiley face whistle, - a marble (which I must have dropped on the way out), cache was quite wet. TFTC!
On our way back to Auckland. Had seen these falls from the road and they were a must. Cracked the cache quickly and dried it out a bit. TFTC.
After arriving after 5pm, we decided we had to be quick and attempt to at least get to the halfway point. We went for the hint straight away and soon the cache was in hand. The nearby bathrooms meant the area was busy, but we faced the other way and did our business. We were looking forward to the walk a lot, the information in this cache helped us a bit, as we knew what types of walks were on offer. TFTC
Quick find on a drizzly day, no time to visit the falls today but will come back for sure. Thanks!
Last find on our walk out, having stayed at Mangamuka Hut overnight. Log was very wet and unfortunately we had no replacement pages. Did manage to sign it however. Thanks Zork V
I just noticed that I hadn't logged this when I visited it but the log was saved on my app. Can't remember when I found this but it was early in the year. Even though it's now archived, I will back date my log. Here is my original log.
Was working just up the road so I had to grab this one before I headed back to Tauranga. I hoped to be here early enough to walk to the summit but work dragged on and I ran out of time. Still, as I was in no rush to get home I performed some maintenance on this cache. The container lid is broken so the contents were very wet.
As I was in my work ute, I had a towel, so I dried out the container, the swaps and dried the log books in the wind. The log books were full also so I tore a page from my Rite in the Rain field note book and signed my name on that. Left the others in there. I had a new bag so replaced that too. I taped the inside of the container lid but it really needs replacing to keep the rain out.
A popular place today and sometime I will return to explore fully.
Thanks for bringing me here.

Goodo! Found it while mum was in the loo. Intense winds today, debris all over the track. Cheers!
Found it! Such a beautiful spot, need to come back with the running shoes to go for a bit of a trek!
Found it out with the geo - grandkid visiting from Australia. Treasure inside looking a bit scant so we restocked it with goodies
Found on our road trip from Wellington to Auckland for a wedding. Day six, Rotorua to Pukekohe.
Just a park and grab, not doing the falls walk today. SL TFTC.

Another find on the great north summer roadtrip with the Banians- a week of travel from Wellington to Auckland via Napier, Wairoa, that secluded road between Wairoa and Rotorua, and almost the Coromandel peninsula.
We elected not to do the walk, as time was limited and energy was low. Some view of the waterfall from carpark, not bad today. TFTC

Nice find. Was pretty full of water and logbook soggy. Suggest maintenance. Found with Madmass
Found on the way back down with Madmass. Logbook soggy could do with a fresh one. Cheers.
Found this back in October but for got to log the find. Had help from the whittingham family. TFTC
After a far too large lunch I had a choice, head back to Hamilton or go for a walk. Being over zealous I decided on the walk over wine... I arrived at the car park to no phone reception and a feeing that this could be interesting, but luckily it was a easy find, just had to time it between 2 German girls, and an Indian family.
Busy busy place!
Cache filled with water!
Log wet, attempted to sign
Left a treasure that is water proof
Other swag is wet

Grateful for a quick and easy find at the start of the walk. On the way back we chatted to a threesome who were busy signing this cache's log as a drive past - our first realtime meeting with other cachers!
JAC found it, TFTC. Had a lovely walk here today, once again traveled past Wairere Falls and admired them from state highway for years, but geocaching brought us here (closeup) for a great family walk.
Found on the 6th logged on the 18th on my return home to Canada. Thankful for the find at the beginning of the trail as we quickly lost satellite signal under the canopy of trees and were unable to search for the others.
Found on the way out, three year old found in short time, log a little wet
Easy find. From memory this one was half filled with water, but the waterproof paper worked great. We found it exposed so did some fossicking to leave it as the hint intended. The carpark was full, we were lucky that no one was about as we set off for our walk to the top. Tftc
Thought it was a different tree, but it was in a tree a little further away. Easy find in the end.
Found it at the end of a great walk up to the waterfall. Very hot but fantastic scenery.

Not for the first time we came here to this nice hiking area close to where we currently live. But this time I had the cache-coordinetes with me! Didn't take long to find. Afterwards we went all the way up to the top of the falls!!

Steed is still on holiday, so is caching solo today, I'm logging from his notes and stories.
He was surprised at how busy the carpark was today, being a week day, but had no trouble with the find. He added a new log as we always carry spare waterproof sheets and this one was really, really full.
He isn't doing the walk today, although it is one of our favourites. Many years ago my son and friend walked right up it, rock hopping in the river, to the base of the waterfall. Other times we went, he used to run down back to the start and time himself. I hope he has good memories of the times like that, as his life in London is now so different.

Car park full both start and finish but at the end no muggles there so we made a quick find and SL. Great walk and views. Sure see why the track is so popular. NINO TFTC
New Years Eve! Spend the day walking to the falls. Thanks for the cache.

#6056. We went to Matamata for a day trip today. A stop on Goodwin Road for an exploration. A quick find. The cache was wet inside, so emptied out the water and tried to do some drying in the sun. The log was full too, but managed to find some space to sign. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log. Thanks for the cache.
After signing the log we walked to the first lookout. What stunning waterfalls! tftc
Finally Karo13&QuestHobbit travelled to the high Wairere Falls. Earlier on our trip we changed our plans a little bit and put this visit near to the end of your 3-week-journey. Before walking up to the middle lookout we logged the cache. Although it's steep and rocky we met three runners who run down from the top... crazy guys TFTC
On our holidays QuestHobbit and i were the first time in New Zealand That was great! We were here some days before, but the weather was to rainy for hiking :-/ this time, before we start our return journey, we had more luck and could log this cache quickly before hiking to the Wairere Falls We saw a lot of great waterfalls, but the trip to this one was most difficult TftC..
Great walk to the top today but very wet with the spray coming back over us do couldn't do top one. Will have to comeback. No pen so didn't sign book. TFTC
Quick easy find after waiting for a muggle to move off up the track. No time today, but will return to grab the one at the top of the track. TFTC.
Amazing view of the falls today, and a quick cache find. Unfortunately I had a bit of a hike planned for Te Aroha today, so the walk to the falls will have to wait for another visit.
TFTC!
TFTC!
This is my third venture up the falls and it was the most beautiful today. So much water coming down! It's spectacular after only doing this in the dry season.
The geocache was full of water with all the things inside swimming. The log was fine in its bag, and a good thing it's synthetic paper.
