As far as the eye can see?
My eyes can’t see this one. Looked all around the obvious spot. Dug in the dirt but came out with nothing. My only DNF today.

We found a hollow in a large tree right where the Gps indicated but no cache. Tftc anyway. Greetings from Adelaide
No yellow today but I both drive and fly between Adelaide and Melbourne regularly, and I know how spectacular it can be. Thanks, MalleeMan.
Op weg van Port Elliot richting Melbourne deze cache gezocht en gevonden.

I have driven past this cache many times but for some reason never stopped. Today I made the stop and a quick find was soon made, the cache is all good.
Today I made my way from Melbourne to Adelaide. After arriving on the Spirit of Tasmania in Port Melbourne this morning I had a few target caches I wanted to collect along my way to break up the 8 hour drive.
All together a total of 49 caches for the trip as it slowly got hotter the further west I got.
Thanks for the cache.

Out with Bunadoorian on an adventure for the day to clean up a few Local Government Areas and UBD maps! This is find 8 for today. We found it but unfortunately it wasn't canola we saw it was hay bales! Loved where the cache was hidden. TFTC MalleeMan and for making us stop here - I enjoyed the views.
It would have been a nice easy park and grab if we hadn't parked 200 meters away from GZ. The poor little cache looks lost in the dark. TFTC.
After a Hectic weekend at the Mega, we are taking the shop back home to the Barossa and stopped at a few caches to break up the drive. A nice quick find here. TFTC
Travelling around with 2beez and 2A's enjoying this lovely area after the Mega weekend. The target is Little Desert today.
After reading the previous logs (which we had fun reading) LeeLee said "I'm not doing this one". As such the boys set out to get this one. The grass is certainly long here.
Thanks MalleeMan for creating and placing for all to enjoy.

KGS had a crazy idea of an extended weekend finding as many caches as possible, starting from the mega and then onto SA!! We went from the airport straight to the mega, got the first lot of lab caches, and then it was onward and upward into SA! TFTC!!
After a big day my eyes were focused on the beer in the fridge back at the hotel. Last cache of the day for us but I took a moment to look around the vastness of this area. SSR found the cache quickly and we turned around and headed back to Kaniva for those beers.
Cache is good condition.
Thanks MalleeMan
When planning the St Arnaud mega trip I was keen to incorporate some missing D/T’s from my grid. Stainless steel rat suggested flying to Adelaide ‘on the way’ and driving across so a route was planned and a fun week of caching began. I cherry picked in my planning so as not to run out of time for the ones I wanted, and we added a few on the day if there was time. We met up with various teams along the way including a planned rendezvous with Tassie Trekkers in Kaniva for a fun days caching. I ended up with around five hundred finds (including labs) for the week, and still had plenty of time for socializing along the way. It was great to catch up with some old friends and of course make new ones.
Special thanks to the St Arnaud mega committee for a great weekend.

The last cache of the day before heading back to the hotel to relax for the first time a in a few days, an early stop to caching for us as we normally carry on till the small hours but with little left to find in the area and us both having done 4 days caching we were both ready for a rest before dinner.
thanks for the cache.
This was the Mega trip that started out as a simple trip to St Arnaud for just the Mega and turned into a mega road trip starting with myself and GooseandEgg flying into Adelaide to collect a rental 4WD so we could drive an indirect route to St Arnaud and then on to Melbourne so we could fly home again.
The Goose had put a lot of planning into the trip so we could both complete or get close to completing our D/T grids, collect a number of good interesting caches and cache types we didn't have many off.
For me this was the best organised Mega I have been to, the stand out was how the committee had managed to get the whole St Arnaud community to welcome us all to the area, just about everyone we meet knew what we were there for and I had no awkward moments explaining what Geocaching was.

Came over to the 2019 mega in St Arnaud with Mogni. We where joined by jj52, Aussie M and M plus others at different times over the mega weekend. Many caches where found over the course of the 8 day trip. Targeting multi's on the way there and back plus the challenge trail in Mount Beckworth reserve. The creative trails around St Arnaud where the highlight of the trip.

A quick drive by.
It'll be fun she said...
Well, heymissjo and I approached GZ in the dark. The dodgey braking and subsequent U-turn was the easy bit.
First, heymissjo nearly stood on a huge double headed lizard. Then we encountered long grass...
Oh dear. Snake country.
I went through without a problem, but had to convince HMJ it was safe.
Okay, no worries.
Then we circled the hide, but the cache wasn't apparent. A with a second look, I spied the mostly buried cache, but HMJ spied a snakeskin!
We then had a brief debate trying to convince each other of what we saw.
Turns out we were both right.
Damn, I was going to have to retrieve that cache despite the snake evidence. It's not like I can just walk away from a smiley, right?!
So we did one last preliminary check of the hide...
HJM screamed.
I screamed
We all screamed
For ice cream.
Well, maybe not ice cream!!
And with the cache signed, we now had to walk back the long grass in the dark.
AND DON'T STEP ON THE LIZARD!!
Yeah, it was a drive by to remember
Thanks, MalleeMan

A great place to stop to pick up a cache to help The Welder and I with the LGA challenge, except for the fact it’s past 10pm at night. We pulled up around the corner in the side street and as I got out of the car nearly stepped onto a lizard! Of course my shock was gladly followed by relief that it wasn’t a snake... but of course we then had the long grass to walk through in the dark!! Eke... my senses were in overdrive and then on spotting the cache, just as The Welder went to grab it, I spied a snake skin... jumping back and screaming had us both on our toes, somewhere between laughing and freaking out! Thanks for the night adventure and the laughs!

Pulled off into the side street.
Walked up to GZ.
Was a little concerned after a previous DNF.
However I prodded around and the cache was safe!!
Glad to put a smiley here before crossing the border soon.

Day 2 of our trip home from Kangaroo Island with a Bordertown start this morning... travelling along the Western Highway I was stopping for the occasional cache that would help me complete a challenge or two. This cache was a quick stop for cache in the West Wimmera Shire for a LGA challenge and for a map on the Vic Country Road Atlas challenge.
Thanks **MalleeMan** for the cache...

There was no Canola to be seen here just a dusty paddock with plenty of dried stalks.

We soon found this cache once at Ground Zero on this very windy, chilly day. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
TFTC. We left Dimboola this morning in the direction of Murray Bridge caching as we went. We stopped as many times as we could, but sometimes a bit difficult stopping the Motorhome with a car in tow. We had a good day and only got as far as Tintinara. .
No Canola to be seen, but having seen seas of yellow on other trips it. Certainly an impressive sight.

Out and about on a road trip to Adelaide, I was particularly targeting Wherigo and letterbox caches but there are a lot of other interesting caches to be found, this being one of them.
Time to stop again for a new LGA, wandered over to GZ and made a quick find
**Thanks to MalleeMan for placing this cache.**

Heading West with kenbryl and Sean.75 to catch up with great friends. We stopped here to make the quick find, when Sean.75 jumped, we jumped!! Thank goodness the skin was empty. Tftc
We could imagine how beautiful this would be when the canola was in bloom, but it was very brown and boring today.
Muggle Hubby found a snake skin here, on top of the cache! Luckily it’s previous owner was nowhere to be seen today!
Thanks for the cache and the opportunity to stretch our legs on the way to Rupanyup

Day Two of the odessey over to Mexico for the Parkville Mega event. Today was a full day from Bordertown to Parkville via Melbourne's 1st, picking up a bunch of caches along the way, focused mostly on older caches (read decade or more older). A quick check in at the hotel and off to the Friday night event before heading off with muggle best friend to grab dinner.
This was find number 1 of 5 for the day for me. TFTC MalleeMan!

Sitting at my computer during these Covid lockdowns, I am trying to catch up on a few logs that I haven't sent in yet.
Over the years, geocaching has taken me on many adventures, including interesting destinations all over my home continent of Australia and many overseas as well. It has also introduced me to a diverse group of like-minded caching tragics, many of whom I now call close friends.
Today, I was lucky enough to be out and about searching for caches, something I do on almost a daily basis. This was one cache that was targeted and found.
Sorry for the late log, something I am notorious for. Thank you for adding to the adventure that is geocaching.
Thanks MalleeMan (F=26 H=14) for the cache.

On my way to Adelaide and another Victorian LGA. A mercifully quick find after the nearbyish water tower bust.
Our 6 month sojourn to the far parts of Australia is now coming to an end as we leave Adelaide this morning and make the dash home to Victoria. Not a bad day for traveling, but always a good day for caching.
Fortunately this cache was just at the end of the current roadworks so we were able to stop and search.
Yes, there is canola everywhere. Lucky we had our sunnies!

Heading north on a bit of a roadtrip to Renmark for a family holiday, with my muggle father and son. Could only take a few opportunities to stop and grab a find along the way. Thankfully there were no DNF's for the day. There was such a variety of landscapes from the lush green grass of the dairy land, the golden fields of canola to the dry desert and salt bushes. We live is such a lovely country and caching is a way to take a closer look at it.
The canola we had passed was spectacular in flower. We stopped off here and a quick find was made and chance to change drivers.
I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of the start of 2018 my average was only 47 words per log, which seems a long way from the 100 target. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 7000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 50 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.
Thanks MalleeMan for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

We are on an LGA adventure/surprise visit to Adelaide from Melbourne for my Aunty's 80th birthday... via Swan Hill and Loxton! We chose this route so that we could find caches in a few of the LGA areas we have missing in Victoria for the Vic Polygon LGA Challenge cache and then we could also do some of the Wandering Hero caches from Loxton to Adelaide.
After a few days in Adelaide we headed down to Hayborough for a few days, that whole area is so beautiful! Sadly we had to leave to come back to Melbourne but we had to drop my sister at the airport in Adelaide first. Dropped her off at about 10.15am then got petrol and snacks and then started on our drive towards Horsham at about 11am. We made fairly good time stopping at the silos at Coonalpyn crossing the border at about 3pm and not long after at this cache. We targeted this cache as our needed cache in the LGA Polygon area of West Wimmera and were very thankful to find it easily!

We had always left this one due to long grass and warm weather. However this morning it was cooler and so in we went. Got a bit of a fright at the snake skin in the hollow, but it was all good. Thanks for the hide, ano bringing us here.
We were too late to see the canola flowers but still enjoy looking at the crops in their various stages of growth.
