With no action for so long time for this one to go

13-Jul-14
Co ords wanted to take me to the other side of the fence. Didn't spend long on this one as previous logs indicate it might not be there.

10-Jun-14
Cache 4 today that we bypassed due to being unavailable.

With 5 DNFs and no finds in 4 months it is likely that this one is in trouble. With regular finds then none, this may also be missing.

26-Apr-14
Had a good look around GZ in between passing cyclists but no luck with this one.

25-Apr-14
No luck finding this one despite a long look, using the clue and trying lots of hide option ideas. Perhaps another one gone?
thanks anyway cathylmorgan & julz76

Finally after all this time I have managed to find the time to start doing the entire PLT. Geo daughter and I decided today to head north from the Skye rd end on bikes.
Again, it looked like there had been a fair bit of activity around this cache due to all the foot prints and damage to the surrounding area.
Could not find this cache, along with a few others along the PLT.
Sadly I noted (and reported to the cache owner) that some kids were playing with one of her caches at Skye rd but it seems sadly that either they or workers have destroyed others along the trail too as trees/shrubs 'etc' have been cut back/removed or destroyed!
Can't understand why but assume its the sad world we live in today. Sad

Thanks for at least placing these caches for all our benefits.
I hope to see them up again soon. Smile

# 3764. Robmc and I headed down this way to make the most of the winter sunshine and lovely day to do some of the PLT. We parked at this end so we could head north and return with a tail wind (hopefully).

This was the last one for our afternoon. Rob had ridden past but I slowed and stopped where my GPS was telling me to. Off the bike and heading in the right direction and there it was lying on its side. Another good little container. Opened, signed and returned it to its correct position. Now for the return ride back to the geo-Ranger. It has been a great afternoon, on a wonderful winter's day. TFTC

29-Jul-13
It looked like the best day of the week, so we got the deadly treadlies out, and headed down to the Peninsula Link Trail. Bettyboo3747 and I joined many other bike riders (and walkers) using this trail today.
Seeing there was supposed to be a northerly wind we started on the southern end so we would have a tail wind coming home. Of course the wind turned as we were coming back! Smile
A quick find fight where the concrete ran out.
This was our last one for the day, as we figured we would be tempting fate (and wet feet) to continue thru the mud.
Thanks for all of this great series we have done (we will be back).
Thanks, Robmc.

My GPS batteries gave out approaching this one. Luckily I was able to get it going again for about 15 seconds while very close to this one - enough to make the find. I then realised when I got home that I could have used the smart phone!

Find # 2791
Date 27th Apr 2013
Time 9:01 AM

After a quick decision between myself and my caching partner in crime, SedgwickDave, it was decided we would throw the bikes on the back of the car and head for the newly created Peninsula Link Trail as well as a number of other caches in the area including another cache crossed off our D / T matrix, AKA "Project81". Dave picked me up at 7AM and we were on the trail by just after 8AM.

It was about here where we made a wrong turn and ended up on the wrong side of the freeway, eventually making our way through a different tunnel in the road and back onto the track, within tem metres of GZ for a quick muggle free find.

Thanks to cathylmorgan & Julz76 for the cache.

What better then to do a power trail on a long weekend!Big Grin Today's weather looked ideal but there was a mention of windy conditions in the afternoon which was a killer on the ride back to the car. Joining me today was my caching wingman and mate Ahomburg who was also keen for some numbers too. We started at the north end of the trail, parking close to PLT - Wee One but failed to final the northerest one and well after 20mintues decided to head south see if our luck would improve. Four hours later we had completed all the caches even the 3 newer placed ones just past Frankston Flinders road. Looks like this trail will expand even further south as other sections are open up. It was a great morning and only took about 1 hour to get back to the card pushing hard against the 40km/h head wind.[xx(] Great hides of different styles seen today which was great too.Big Grin Many Thanks to Cathylmorgan & Julz76 for the huge effort in establishing this epic series. Awesome! Razz

As the path is still under construction between this cache and PLT - Sorry its empty, we ended up taking a wrong turn ( on the way back we realized our error). Well after 10mins we found ourselves pushing the bikes thru a small underpass tunnel under the freeway which is for the possums to walk thru I assume and then following the road we eventually got to GZ, yay! Once on site it was a quick find and different once again, nice.[^]

found, great container...like it. I was very surprised when we had found this after looking for a few mins. Few peeps rode passed us whilst we were searching. We just made as if we were having a break.
Nice 1! TFTC ClM

End of the trail for me. An excellent morning with a variety of hides. Well done. Big Grin

08-Apr-13
Past this one by earlier as there were muggle kids sitting on the nearby hill. All clear on our way back but do you think we could find it. Searched everywhere we could and even broadened the search area but the cache eluded us. Had to leave this one as the light was fading and we still had to get to the car. Will place this on our watch list and try again soon. KeMS

This was our last PLT cache for this trip. I must have been 'shell-shocked' as I combed every square cm around GZ before s pointed out that I had nearly ... well, let's just say I should have seen it Red Face. Anyhoo, we signed our last PLT log for this trip at 17:40.

TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Many, many thanks for all your work with this wonderful series cathylmorgan & julz76 Big Grin. Kudos to you both Big Grin.

Find # 922 Found @11:30Hrs

We were going to hit this trail on Friday but other more important things came up so we put it off till To-Day & what a good day it was for caching not to many muggles & the weather was not to hot or cold just right for a bike ride along this trail..
This was another easy find in fact i found this one without my GPSr it was still sitting in it's cradle on my bike.

Find #29 of a joint ssmc4 & EuDes bike-riding caching adventure along the PLT (which during the day brought up my 1500th find milestone).

This one took a little bit of searching but we got there in the end. Thanks cathylmorgan & Julz76

Too dark or too dumb.... I couldn't find it. The poor little caterpillar in its cocoon received an uncomfortable squeeze.

The name says all, Break right or should that be Brake right seeing as that nice cement trail turned into a muddy trail and it set a theme for what was to come. TFTC ladies

29-Mar-13
No idea why this hide took us so long to find. I think we switched off any cacher instinct after reading the hint. Quiet1_au found the cache eventually. TFTC

29-Mar-13
Found with lochb - eventually. The end of the trail and the first several for the series proved a harder one than the rest to find. We also had a fellow cyclist (though a muggle) come by and wonder about the lack of bike path before moving on and allowing us to continue our search. Eventually, having run out of likely hiding spots, the cache was uncovered in a simple spot (although an unusual cache container it must be said) Glad to have been able to find this ourselves without having to employ the PAF option! Smile We returned to our starting point and realising we had made good progress and plenty of time left before our group caching appointment in the afternoon decided to tackle the next section of this enjoyable geobiking series Smile

Sent from out on a good Friday cache hunt along the PLT hopefully finding lots of great cache hides.
This one had me going for a little while and had to wait to search alot of times due to all the muggles but I got there in the end.
Thanks to cathylmorgan & julz76 for this cache and all the caching fun.

Found on another TDC night run, we did the series on bike, certainly was a good ride. Thanks for the cache.

25-Mar-13
The Demolition Crew (TDC) met up for another legendary day/night caching run, this time focusing on the PLT (Peninsula Link Trail) in the Melbourne SE area. Bikes were deployed for this, and are becoming a big feature of our caching, which is fantastic. A great variety of hides were found, and some good numbers for the night, as well as some other caches around the area besides the PLT ones. My thanks to the cache owners for their efforts in placing the caches.

Enjoyed the trail and varitey of caches very much. No trouble here with the find. TFTC.

25-Mar-13
The path finishes here. That's odd, but the cache was found in a logical spot.

Run Summary
----------------------
We've been looking at PLT series for a while now, and decided to take a ride to pick them up tonight. The new link is a great asset and speeds up access to the Mornington Peninsula. The Demolition Crew have used it extensively in the late early hours of the morning to return home. At this time it has no cars on it. That's the way we like it Wink
So once again we are down here collecting caches and having a great ride. Thanks to the CO for all there efforts.

This is the last one of this series for Pea bear & I to do today. It is getting a bit too hot now. We scared off two worker muggles having lunch in their car, don't think they were expecting company & drove off when we approached. Cache was found quite quickly, it is very unique. Thanks cathylmorgan & Julz76 for an ever changing & entertaining series. Look forward to the next ones.

05-Mar-13
After a big night of caching with my fellow TDC cachers, I woke up this morning to find some new PLT caches had been published. A quick check and no online logs had been made yet so as the cache were on my way to work, and I happened to have my bike in the car, I thought I might have a chance for a couple of FTF finds. As it turned out I managed the finds but not the FTF's on this occasion.
There was a council work ute parked right at GZ and I thought I'd wasn't going to get this one but luckily no-one was about so after a quick search the cache was found.
The trail is fun to do and I'll have to get my boys down along other parts of the trail on their bikes and trikes on the weekends to find some more. Thanks for putting out the caches.

*STF*

Decided to ride the bike from home instead of using the car as a base FROM the start of the trail - WOW! it had
surprised me how quick I completed the trail .... Although I was on my own it was an enjoyable morning ride.

Although NO ftf online log had been made I had a good feeling that it may in fact be gone - sure enough the ever so reliable "red ink" marked first spot in the logbook. Big Grin

Spot on coords - and a quick find BUT what sort of container is it? nevertheless, well placed.

Many Thx to the CO's for the PLTrail
