With an increasing number of days with good weather as summer approaches, I have been making an effort to get out and cache more often. Along with this, an effort has also been made to head out to areas where I have either not cached before, or not cached in a long time, in an effort to clear out more of my map. With this in mind, todays plan was to spend the day caching in, and around, the Nairne area. Having stopped at a bakery for lunch, I started making my way around the backstreets picking up caches. Having parked reasonably close to the cache, and made the sort walk to Ground Zero, I soon had the cache in hand. The log was signed, the cache replaced, and I was on my way.Find #8067, at 02:57 pmTFTC Smile

24-Jan-22
After a bit of a caching hiatus for January (not sure why just had other stuff on) decided to head out today for a caching day in the hills.
It wasn’t your typical January day by any stretch and spent most of the day dodging rain showers and ducks (kamikaze s everywhere). But at least there were no snakes and no sunburn.
I had about 30 caches on my list I had to ditch some of the ones that involved a walk due to the rain so will have to head back to do them another time.
Had a lovely day out and found 25 caches, I seemed to visit lots of churches and tennis courts!!
Thanks to all the hiders for the fun caches o really enjoyed my day out just what the Dr ordered.
Tidy hide here very nice. TFTC Brisal5

Yesterday while speaking to brisal5, he mentioned a walk along the Amy Gillett bikeway Surprised between Charleston and Woodside and as I hadn't done many of those cachesSurprisedSurprised, I asked to join him[?][^]Cool
Rex and I had a sad Sad drive through the Cudlee Creek, Gorge Rd and Lobethal area to Woodside as we saw how much damage had been done by the fires Sad[xx(]SadTwistedSad along one of my most travelled motorobike ride routes and it sure does not look like it used to SadSad[xx(]Sad
During the walk with brisal5 he replaced 7 out of 11 geocaches as they had been burned! [xx(]Sad[^][:X]

By the end of the day I had 22Smile smileys from 1 Cool attended Welcome TDU Cachers 2020 event Big Grin and 21 Smile cache finds. Sadly there was also 2 Sad DNFs as a result of the bushfire in the area Sad[xx(]Sad
Although that was really 3 DNFs but 1 was my own cache Razz and Mogni kindly [:X] gave me a spare container so that I could replace my burnt Creek Views cache [^]
I also managed to finally Red FaceRazz find Smile 2 previous SadDNFs and so that made me smile even more SmileWink[^]

What a misleading name! SurprisedTwistedSurprisedRazz
Poor Rex had to drop to his kneesRazz to even find a lick of water to drink Razz as there was no water body large enough to lay in RazzWink
The cache was found though Smile

30-Jun-19
With an excessively rainy day the day before, jesswrigley and I decided to do a bit of geocaching around Littlehampton and Nairne. It was a cold and at times, wet day, but we think we timed our outside activities right in between spells of rain. We did a small walk around the dam at Totness Recreation Park, collected various geocaches around Littlehampton, and then headed to Nairne to see some of the murals, before calling it day before we were able to complete that respective multi-cache.

I was excited to see this one, and wondered if the CO's house was around the corner from here. No dogs spotted, but fortunately some good news as I found the cache within a minute of being at GZ. A clever little hide, and thankfully I had seen something like this one before. Cheers brisal5 for a well hidden cache.

That time of the week again, the menagerie of puzzled animal's Wednesday wanderings. Today with one of the troupe missing due to Husband duties it left the Rat, Korf an Adder to seek the elusive hides. The target today was Nairne and Mount Barker. We suggested calling in for a coffee with our missing member of the group but Mrs. Sewer Rat thought it not a good idea as poor Mrs. Brisal would probably not enjoy the company.

Another that only the Adder needed to find. He was looking in the right place but kept missing the sneaky hide, probably because he expected something different. Needed a little help from a previous finder on board. "yes I saw that but........" Der.

08-Mar-19
Had talked to gridge98 at an event during the week and he asked me if I wanted to go caching on Friday and as I had nothing else to do I said yes. It's always good to go caching rather than sitting at home doing other less interesting things. [^] We decided to meet in Stirling and cache around the hills as we both had plenty of caches that we hadn't found. Big Grin

This one could have taken much longer, but my mojo must have been good here as I found the hide pretty much straight away...cool. Cool

Thanks for the cache brisal5. Smile

A very clever hide, JJ52 made the find.

A quick discussion the other night on a caching day out with @JJ52 for today, we decided to go up into the hills as we both had quite a few to find. A great day out in some areas I had never been, we cached around Uraidla, Oakbank and Nairne. A total of 44 finds and 2 did not finds for the day. Thanks to the Cache owners for their placements.

Thanks for the cache.

Thanks to a conversation with Brisal5 we are slowly learning a little more about GSAK. While playing with that it showed us that we had not logged this cache, along with the information that we had double logged a few caches. Gosh we have not done as many caches as we thought. Does this mean that we have to cache harder to cache up?

Thanks for looking after us for a couple of days, in this time we found many caches. It was great to hear the story about the trees that were planted by you and your family that are growing so well in the park, what a lovely memory for you to be able to pass onto others. SL TFTC

Find # 2781 @ 1811 H

Over in SA for the TDU and once again Mount Barker is our base for the week.
Seeing that it was so hot today it put a change to our plans, but as it cooled down we decided to head over the big road into Nairne and turn some icons into Smileys.

I was a little iffy about this cache so we passé by it initially but upon returning form the bush Mrs Tyred n Cranky said "we might as well get it" so off we went. a Quick find with great cords as we, Mr Tyred n Cranky and myself had it found before Mrs Tyred n Cranky had gotten out of the van

Being from Central Victoria we are spending the week in Mount Barker for the Tour Down Under Bicycle Event. As today was a rest day for the riders we went for a drive into Nairne to grab a few caches.

Another quick easy find as we are caching our way around Nairne.
