Lovely day for looking for caches here while Mrs M is in the shops. Very straightforward. Also a nice quiet area. T F T C
Got to bed about midnight last night, so I didn't wake up till quite late. I am a very early riser, and the others also got to bed at midnight, so naturally they were still in bed when I left the house about 7am for an early morning walk. Well, I found out why this is called the Top Pub - the next day I was at the other end of town and came across a history notice mentioning a pub there, nicknamed the Bottom Pub. Didn't note the pub's real name though.Nice easy find. Amazing how something like this sticks around!---I spent the weekend in Greytown with seven friends. We had a number of things we wanted to do, but alas the weather canned to two of them so the only mission we did was the caches along Admiral, Clifton Grove and related roads. None the less we had a great time, Took down some branches over hanging a garage, found a few new caches and generally had a pretty good time. Apparently some parts of the country had a very wet time, but all we got was a few bits of light rain, but that is enough to stop a couple of long walks.
Out and about with Itchyfeety2020 having both done a spot of cache owner maintenance on this very hot sunny day. Had stopped for refreshments at the nearby watering hole so couldn't resist popping by to get this one. A quick find by Ithcyfeet2020. TFTC
In the Rapa today to do some maintenance on my cache in the Nifty Swifty series out in skindo land and find a few of the others while I was there. It ended up being a very hot day with a lot of traffic thanks to the Gladstone Market. In the afternoon I caught up with JustLooking00 who had also been over undertaking maintenance. After a while it just got to hot and we agreed to head back to town to - you guess where Only after the cooling beverage in the nearby establishment did we make our way out to find this one. TFTC wascox - may I say a fine spot for a cache!
Roadtripping in NZ from Finland. Today on our way to Wellington from Napier searched a couple of caches and this was one of them. This was a quick find! TFTC!
TFTC. Easy find for us. Tricky place to hide! Forgot our pen so didn't record on log.
I had driven up to Palmy yesterday evening to spend the night catching up with my friends there, and then to attend the GIFF event up there today before heading over the Pahiatua track to get to Greytown in order to catch up with more friends here overnight.Having just arrived in Greytown, I had a few minutes to make the most of before they would be available to meet with, so what better way to spend that time than by getting a cache or two. This was one I chose to look for, and was blessed with a quick find at GZ, made easier by the lack of muggles around at this time of the early evening. No issues to report here, and everything was replaced as found once I'd put my name into the log.Thank you for setting this one up.
Sneaky. Now that Im becoming a vastly experienced cacher (cough, cough) I am able to recognise certain levels of sneakiness. To this end I spotted the cache with a touch of smugness (and a little bit of glee) signed, sealed and delivered.
There are certainly quite a variety of historic buildings dotted all around Gretown and surrounds. Thanks for highlighting this one. TFTC # 19,903
Out and about with NZ_B. I've been into the Top Pub several times, but not ever come around the back to find this cache. Today, pulled up on road, spotted the hiding place instantly. Retrieved, signed, and returned as found. All good, tftc!
Grabbed a take-away coffee and swapped drivers (me in the passenger seat). Such a quick find here today, thanks wascox.
I fancied a day out and we identified Masterton/Greytown as our approximate destination. Castlepoint was deemed too far, but that was OK. Managed a few finds in the day and some unexpected shop visits yielded some treats to enjoy that evening (taramasalata) and another time (1st edition Stephen King book). Nice day out, saw some nice stuff, enjoyed a decent drive, and the rain held off. Cheers to all COs.

Quick find at this spot while in Greytown with muggle friend kindly driving me around
Thanks for the interesting hide
Thanks for the interesting hide
Found after staying the night at the lovely historic hotel. Thanks for placing the cache
Nice hide ..... tried a few years ago and it was missing at the time but no trouble today
I was a bit purturbed by the hint looking at the treeline on one side of the drive, but then I had a proper look around and spotted what it meant - always a good style of hide, this. Tftc!
With (Mr) Davidson Clan and Gap (of Fap and Gap)… On a boy’s weekend roadtrip south. We’re relocating down the road today. So our base camp shifts to Carterton for the night…
A dimly lit back street was perfect for a stealthy mission. We found the mechanism but the logbook was missing. Left a replacement… Thanks wascox and TFTC.

FapnGap and Squirel Nutcase and I have come away for the long weekend caching. Nice quick find here today cache is in good condition. Thanks for hiding the cache. Replaced log.
Interesting cache. Understood the clue but couldn’t locate the cache. Too many muggles so will have to look again.
Quick find though was being circumspect around muggle in the driveway. Thanks wascox, nice hide!
A nice quick find thanks.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee tour of the North Island. It was a great weather most of today, with the threatened rain starting mid afternoon. Mostly just showers though. Today we cruised around the Wairarapa which was cool.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Needed to get the microcachers out for an early morning exercise and noticed that this was literally just up the road so was the perfect excuse! After much excitement about how long their shadows were we approached ground zero and quickly spotted a likely spot. We had to be extra careful as there was some commemorative decorations attached due to the time of year. The log was extracted, signed and returned and after reading the information sign we were all happily skipping or walking back to our accommodation ️
Forgot to mention that the log is pretty full and could do with replacing didn’t have any with me today to be able to help.
Caching trip with MomsOB on a gorgeous sunny day. Stopping off in Greytown, then carrying on North.
Quick an easy find. Haven’t been to The Top in way too many years. Wonder if they still do their amazing steaks...

On a trip to the Wairarapa with Flowerydaze on the hunt for caches and in particular PWGT 2 series, however we had a list of other caches to find also and this was one of them. TFTC wascox
A quick find while doing some caching with Talla64 in quite a busy area, so a bit of patience was required. Thanks for the interesting history wascox, and for the cache.
Top Pub was closed today. Didn't know there was a back entrance. Easy find. Signed log and replaced where found. TFTC.
Nice hide. Pretty busy around GZ but the hiding place was easy to access so it didn’t take long to sneak it when no one was watching. Thanks for the history. TFTC
On our way home, after a lovely day in the Wairarapa. Thought we'd pick up a few but it's getting very hot! Managed to tick this one off, nice little piece of history. TFTC
Nice cache hide. Had to wait a few minutes for the neighbour to leave and for a couple of people on a motorbike further up the driveway close to GZ. ThanksFTC
Been out for a little friday afternoon caching tour. Actually would be quite easy but somehow it took a while

#1231. After a nice dinner at the 1860 Greytown Hotel, there was time to pop around the corner to the back entrance to find this cache. It’s dark and only 7C but the wind from earlier in the day is no longer around,
Great hint. Green easily found, but the wet log needs a plastic bag, despite being waterproof.
Tftc wascox.
