We had a fair idea of what we were looking for here and where.Unfortunately even after a PAF and a pic we had no luck here.
Life has been so busy with the not-so-little TTs that I hardly find a chance to get out and cache for a whole day. But today was the day. Didnt take much to convince Chamad to come and hunt with me for the day. I signed a challenge long ago for a ludicrous number of caches needed in the Sunshine Coast. I think I still have about 400 to go. So, putting a tiny dent in this was the go-to. A 9 hr day and about 30 caches. Unfortunately a few dnfs, but although it felt like 50/50, luckily it wasnt. There were a few caches that were way above their terrain because the ground is so wet and slushy and sometimes even a big puddle was underfoot (actually more so overfoot!). It was so good to get out and play and be an adult only for the day. Hmmm maybe I have that wrong. A chance to stop being a responsible adult and a chance to be a kid doing immature and silly things!Looked for ages in all the obvious and not so obvious spots. Even called a previous finder who confirmed it should be in the obvious spot.
Took advantage of an extended weekend trip up the coast. Out and about and caching with RoddyC Princess 1005 MummaBear66.Nice chatting to the owner of the house next foor. He has passed on the following - Sea breeze estates. This road was to dairy farm.TFTCache wesso family
Hatzofff and I are around Caloundra for a few nights. This big rock was the anchor for the Sea Breeze Estate many years ago. Muggle from house told us. The old road here went into a dairy farm that was here once.Log signed and cache replaced as found at 12:06 PM on October 24, 2023. TFTC, wesso family
Found the big rock , lots of dried grass cutting , broken bottles and garden waste . Second DNF today !
I found it amazing that this simple Difficulty 1.0 cache has not been found for just shy of 18 months. I've seen many geocaches with unfound love like this, but usually they are difficult puzzles or remote caches, and not a traditional cache on the main road into Caloundra. I parked nearby whilst rush hour traffic started to build, and then observed the big rock in question. Several loops later whilst having a detailed search, and I soon spotted the cache. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. I would say that this Difficulty rating is probably more in the 2-3 range given where it has been positioned, so perhaps there have been more visits when the outcome resulted in a DNF (and not logged?). Thanks Wesso Family for the cache hide and ongoing maintenance. It was also nice to have found this cache with 583 days [17.5 months / 1.46 years] of unfound love since its last find on 29/04/2022.
----------
Today, with the Caloundra lunch event scheduled, it was an opportunity to take the kayak and paddle one of Sunshine Coast's rivers, subsequently Paynter's Creek was selected.
Whilst travelling north, I firstly stopped in Woombye for a couple of oldies and high Favourite Point geocaches, and then proceeded east to then kayak Paynter's Creek. Following the scenic and tranquil kayak, I proceeded south towards Caloundra grabbing a pie along the way and attended the Kings Beach [Rescheduled: Canuck in Caloundra - Meet & Greet](https://coord.info/GCA6MBY) event. With my remainder of the afternoon, I continued to target a few geocaches around Caloundra, Baringa and Bells Creek, before returning home.

Quick and easy find today.
I would not want to be a “newbie” here today.
Easy when you know what to look for.
TFTC
Big rock ? Base or footing for something or an EX quarry perhaps

Wesso Family I found your cache BIG ROCK on 12/3/2022, 12:10 pm. This is my find 3287 and find # 7 today. Had a search around and about to give up when noticed it. Very well camouflaged. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Second time lucky. Eventually found the hiding spot. Needed a bit of a clean as had been colonized by critters. Cleaned and repositioned
This big rock has been a green circle amongst a sea of yellow for so long, i figured the other..ahem...week.. that i was down here that i would do something about it.
Belted across the wide road in a break in the traffic, then it was a quick find an' sign at gz before dashing back across to the safety of concrete pathways.
Thanks wesso family for a nice easy find perched up high on this hill. I guess once upon a time the rock held slogans tempting passerby's to settle nearby.. perhaps downhill where i did not go.
Sorry for the late log.

An awesome half day out today with Ponchomon11 - sadly cut short so we could return home for lockdown, but first up a few caches to tide me over a few days. Liked this one - name says it all, and an easy find where and how expected. Nice spot.
Thanks wesso family for entertaining me at this location.

Caching with Mr Pprime (P`) today before the event that we wanted to go to. Pprime had a list of 10 caches that he wanted to find and we found 27 in total.
We found the big rock and his little friend.
We were not able to get to the event as we wanted to be back home before lockdown.

After recent DNF's I thought I need to check this on today....
Guess what, it's still there safe and sound.

So our next stop was here. Couldn't really miss The Big Rock. It is crumbling. We searched high and low, even rang the CO. Trees cut down, area whippersnipped. So with guidance from Co, we all came to the conclusion it was Mia. But. But. But. The CO checked! It IS there! Will have to dnf this for another day.
I had been working in Caloundra today with my muggle partner, and volunteered to drive home. Seeing he had fallen asleep in the passenger seat, and being the considerate person I am, I let him sleep and used the opportunity to grab a few smilies on the way I parked near gz and walked across, making a quick find here. What a strange thing to find hidden behind the garden. Tftc wesso's
Not sure why we have never attempted this one before, but today was the day. It was a quick find. TFTC
I have no idea what this big rock was used for? But appreciated a quick stop today. Tftc
Thanks CO for replacing this cache for us to find today. It was a nice find and a nice new log to sign. TFTC
Up here, from Canberra, staying with my parents ... not sure why I never came looking for this when I was up here last year, came out for a late afternoon walk and realised I hadn't found it yet, and decided to rectify the situation ... just made it back in time for dinner.
TFTC - nice walk, interesting rock (maybe it was part of a bridge or something? or was used as a foundation for a sign or somesuch? Dunno ... but I am now curious
Nice easy find (not quite in the first place I looked, but I should have checked there first - lol), and a nice Sunset sky to look at as I walked back to where my car was parked - where it had been for the previous 3 weeks, and about a week around Christmas as well - in the visitors car park at the retirement resort, where my parents live

Out and about on the Sunny Coast for a little Tuesday morning adventure with Slow Puncture, visiting loads of pretty traffic light boxes, puzzles and other hides along the way. The morning started out chilly but soon warmed up into a beaut clear warm winter's day.
I visited here about a year ago and came away empty handed despite a good search. Clearly it was missing then, cos it was an easy find today.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache **wesso family**.

Tuesday. Mr SP was out today up the Sunshine Coast with Orange Crew. OC spotted the likely hide as we walked up. Signed and reurned. We didn't discuss the purpose of the rock at the time, but now having read the question in the description - no idea!
This was the 2nd of 20 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***Wesso Family***, for showing us this place.

Did a lap around the rock, but did not locate the cache. No time to much around this morning, so will leave this one for another time.
I arrived and parked across the street and made my way to the big rock! I saw some likely hides but no caches so circumnavigated the monolith. As I was about to take a closer look, I noticed a car parked nearby with doors and the boot open. Looks like the neighbour was packing timber into the car. Thought it best to leave this and return another time. Tftc
We parked near GZ and walked over. Their were many muggles walking past so stealth was essential . Once we were at GZ, we noticed a potential hiding spot so we investigated, a short time later the cache was in hand . Thanks for the cache Wesso Family . TFTC!!!
I had just enough time for one cache on the way to a job, and this was it. Nice easy find with dozens of muggles driving by. TNLNSL. Thanks for placing the cache here. Still no idea what the rock was used for though....
I am out and about caching today around the southern Sunny Coast region.
At one stage I had almost found them all around here.
Today I nearly made it just over 40 finds for the day. [^]
A really quick find as I spotted it from the car.
Thanks for the cache.

We hadn't found many caches lately and after quite a few DNFs today we were cranky. Even though it was about 5:30pm I hadn't had a coffee all day. Actually I had had a few cups of joe but I was still unsatisfied. My wife and daughter agreed and we were heading into town to get our fix.
On the way in we noticed a little dot on the map and thought we really need this so we stopped to make the grab. We came upon the suspicious and delicious tell-tale signs of a cache and were overjoyed to add our names to the log sheet. We "rocked" out and after an award-winning air-guitar and air-drumming routine we found out we were playing different songs. tftc

I was passing here almost by accident so pulled over and walked across. No troubles with the cache at all which is in great nick. TFTC and new landmark to know.
Streak day 50 of trying to complete my calendar - Today we had hoped to be able to have a picnic on the beach, but unfortunately the weather had other plans. It was a rather dreary day. Instead we had lunch at a nearby rsl then decided since the sun had come out briefly that we could grab some geocaches before heading home. This one wasn't one that we had intended to find. We were aiming for a different one but turned at the wrong street. Upon checking what was around we realised we would pass by this cache when trying to back to main road so we figured why not stop and grab it. Plus that way it didn't look so much like we were lost to those following in the car behind. We parked right next to the GZ and the kids made a quick find. I didn't even have to get out of the car. We signed the log before heading on to the next cache. TFTC.
I felt a bit exposed when I parked next to the rock and hoped that no traffic wanted to get past.
Luckily, it didn't take me long to uncover the cache.
As I hopped back into the car I noticed there was a bobcat working around the corner and was heading my way so I reversed out quickly without a problem.

Watching the weather & trying to decide where to raid today.
Hoping to hit the Sunshine Coast but looking north it didn't look very sunny.
A few words with the Sun God, Mighty Ra, expressing our displeasure seems to have done the trick, the closer we get the more the weather is clearing! LOL ...
Selected Little Mountain & surrounds, filled up the Geo-beast & it was GAME ON!
Spotted a likely hide as we pulled to a stop.
Yep!
Cache quickly in hand.
Made our mark & replaced as found.
It is a big rock indeed!
Not sure if we signed Vegan Cachers or our old name Linden/6?
Oops!

1968, US blues harmonica player Little Walter died from injuries incurred in a fight while taking a break from a performance at a nightclub in Chicago. Joining Muddy Waters' band in 1948, he was the first harmonica player to amplify his harp giving it a distorted echoing sound.
