Stopped by for a look today just to see what all the fuss is about. Searched for 10 minutes and then searched a little more.
We looked for the container, partly because we wanted to find it and partly out of curiosity given a previous finders issue.
Spent time looking at the memorial for the four children who drowned at the railway weir, which really should be the point of this location for future cachers to appreciate.
Let’s hope the container drama gets sorted to keep this spot on the map.

Went to look for this one to see what the issue was. Had a good look without luck. I'm hoping the previous finder has not taken it upon themselves to remove the container.
The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 30 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.

This geocacher reported that this geocache should be archived. A community volunteer reviewer has been notified.
Upon reflection overnight, I have decided to request this cache be archived due to the inappropriateness of the current cache container.
As per the geocaching guidelines:
Non-geocachers may be confused if they find your container on accident. To avoid alarm, consider these tips:
Label your container as a geocache.
Choose a transparent container to show that the contents are harmless.
Don't use glass containers that may break and become hazards.
Don’t use containers that could be confused with bombs or other dangerous items.
If the container has military markings, permanently cover or remove them.
The current container does not comply with three of these guidelines, but most importantly, it does not comply with the fourth one and this is the reason for my needs archive request.

I had stopped off to look for this cache a few years ago. Pretty sure it must have been missing then as there was definitely nothing in that spot then, most certainly not that. I was even wary of touching it! I am not usually one to criticise another CO, but what is currently in place as a cache container is certainly not appropriate. I am pretty sure there are laws regarding these and who can possess them. As I am pretty certain that the cache was missing last time I was here, I am unsure if it was the CO or someone else who has placed this container, but the cache most certainly requires the CO's attention and to be replaced with a more appropriate container. An amazing long weekend of traveling around with Crew153 in the mighty Suzee geomobile. After visiting Blackdown NP we headed into Emerald for the night and today we head to Chinchilla. A quick find passing by. Crew153 used to drive past here regularly back in his younger days (there was a girl, say no more) .. but is sad to see what was a working school when he passed by now classified as 'historical'.
Thanks jpgordo for entertaining me at this location.

Pprime and I escaped Brisbane for the long weekend for the delayed public holiday for the Ekka. We hit the road to Emerald and back home via Roma.
A surprising installation that I have not seen before. Luckily there were no muggles around while we searched and found the cache.

After a fantastic time attending QOGM21 in Cunnamulla we stayed the night in Roma as we ran into pouring rain. Today we headed off in 2 car group and picked up a few caches between Roma and Chinchilla as we wanted to be back home before dark.

Guild of Historians
The historians continuously assess and re-evaluate history through the medium of today's mindset. Lord Vetinari, the Patrician of Ankh-Morpork, considers it important to let people with a certain type of mind to always be re-evaluating history, otherwise they will get their minds on something more upsetting to the general running of the city. In the current atmosphere of the city, the Guild of Historians can be a powerful political tool to Lord Vetinari, if he wants to control the behavior of, say, a man with a despised ancestor; the Historians can be persuaded to re-evaluate events in favor of the said ancestor.

We checked out Drillham History Stop today and lo and behold the cache has disappeared once again!!!!
We are going that way again on Thursday so I will have some appropriate cache to replace there.
It will not be in the same place as that one looks likely to being removed.
I will change the clues when we replace which could be about Monday after. Thank you and happy caching.

Will check it again when we go east. I replaced and changed the hint. If someone has removed it again I will archive it.
I notice it has not been found since I replaced it.

Today was day 8 of 9 long days of travelling and caching for us. Long, but fun. This was the Roma to Chinchilla leg of our trip.
An interesting toilet we have never seen. We even got a step out of the car to feel all around the top on the inside. No luck.

More local history drilled into me here today
And this is why I like geocaches so much !!
They make you stop and actually find and read about these unremarkable places,
and make them remarkable

After having a fun filled and very hectic time finding caches and catching up with friends at the Queensland Outback Geo Muster 2019 we are now taking a bit more leisurely trip home but also grabbing the occasional cache.
This was the sixteenth for the day.
In this day and age it is impossible for us to even try and understand the hardships these workers must have endured. Today we are complaining about having to get out of an air conditioned car for a few minutes in the heat and wind to locate a cache and the men here were probably doing twelve hour days of very physical labour but it was good to finally see a river that had some water in it after all the dry ones we have seen on this trip.
The cache itself was found after a short search and the log book now contains our name.
Thanks once more jpgordo for the cache.

After a long weekend at Canarvon Gorge, time for Nyssaflutterby, 1Minniemoo, Membsec, Mnance1 and I to head home, though of course we won't take the shortest route!
A few stops to make along the way.....
Some small log sheets/books signed as "QQ" for our group to save space.
1Minniemoo went to look in the windyloo so of course we locked her in
I'd not seen one of these odd toilets before. The things you see while caching

Funny how I had thought about a loo stop soon, but arriving here we definitely decided we could all wait that little bit longer. However the toilet here was so odd I did have to venture in to get a tentative look. Only to get locked in from the outside by my so-called caching friends.
Well I did find some history on the wall in here - it was nice to know what Ryan from South Africa achieved in this spot.
NB: Logbook on most smalls and micros this weekend signed as "QQ" for the group of us to save space.
Thanks for the cache jpgordo.

Our trip to Carnarvon Gorge has come to an end so with sadness and in convoy with Nyssaflutterby, 1MinnieMoo, Wombles&Co and mnance101 we slowly head back to our homes picking up the ones we missed heading out. We signed the log with QQ to save time and space. So glad we didn’t need to use the facilities.
