Doing a bit of the trail when the legs are fit enough for a bit of a tramp along the track.The slasher had been through recently but it didnt do that great a job so there was still a bit of tip toeing through the grass and the prickles. Blackberry got us again.Thanks Gonefishen for the cache.
Heading home after attending the Capital Geobash Mega in Canberra while passing by I made the appropriate detour for the search. A quick find was made after a short walk. Thank you Gonefishen07 for placing and maintaining this cache.

By now we were onto the theme happening and we predicted correctly what this cache might be.On a trip to the Inverloch area to spend some time with family, but also some time to collect a few caches we have not found before. The weather was mixed but we had a few good days where we could get the bikes out on the rail trail.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Gonefishen07.**SKI Pair****

I wanted to get away for a while and the coast is always the best place for me to relax and unwind. Phillip Island is one of my favorite places for a beach break so i decided to head down here and remind myself what the ocean looks like, its been far too long.
I booked some pet friendly accommodation for the week and then threw together a list of caches to tackle on the way down and back but didnt make any plans for the island itself, island time doesnt need plans
. This is my last day and i am heading home after a terrific mini holiday. Today i decided to do another decent walk with the geopooch before hitting the road. This rail trail looks just right.
Its always great to find a large cache and this one was no exception. A great cache and part of a great series of caches along this walk. Thanks for the lovely morning exercise, but i reckon i may have gone far enough, i will head back to the geomobile now.

From the name, and some of the previous hides, we had a bit of an idea as to what this one might be!!
Had a little giggle when arriving at GZ and saw what we were kind of expecting, but still hularious anyway!!
Battled the blackberry brambles to retrieve the log and add our name to the list.
Now to head back to the car and head off for the evenings adventures!

The weather has been beautiful all week, but that's about to change. It's already blowing a gale, and apparently the whole East coast is going to cop one heck of a soaking.
Until then...
A drive off the island to see if I can pick up Challenge caches and puzzles I've got final coordinates for, and Large caches.
It was the latter that brought me to the end of a lane for a brisk walk along this past of the rail trail.

The weather has been beautiful all week, but that's about to change. It's already blowing a gale, and apparently the whole East coast is going to cop one heck of a soaking.

We were heading over to Phillip Island to ensure we were there for the start of the Great Victoria Cache Crawl. We caught the ferry from Queenscliff and had laid ourselves a cache trail to follow around to Phillip Island.
The weather was great for caching as the sun was out and the wind was merely a gentle breeze.
After copping a puncture on the South Gippy, we stopped at the Grantville BP to await the RACV to change the tyre on our hire car, while there had a great souvlaki. Then it was off to grab a few more caches before finding a place to camp the night
The new headlamp was brilliant and lit the trail for a very long distance.
We found this cache very quickly and felt we were cooked after the walk.
The cache is medium-rare (the best way to have a steak) Thank you for this cache Gonefishen07

On a road trip to Phillip Island for a couple of weeks, picking up random caches as we travel around seeing the sites. After watching the feeding of the Pelicans at San Remo, and our picnic lunch in the little town of Bass we parked in Woolamai Road and walked the Rail Trail directly to this cache, approximately 2.5kms, following 2 horses and their riders/walkers and we almost caught them. It was Mr Pooky who spotted the hide first, but it wasn't till he took a closer look that he realised what it was. We have never seen this type of container before, an ingenious idea and a favourite from us. We dropped a TB. TFTC and bringing us to this rail trail
Can’t physically get to it but found it. blackberries have taken over!! Wouldn’t recommend shorts. Under a tree. Tftc
Another day off and perfect weather so bribbed the teens to head out with the pooch and enjoy this weather, a few grumblings that its hot, how much longer... teens...
Parked car at Anderson and walked the trail... Saw a horse (on the trail), a snake, loads of birds, some dragonflies, cows (they weren't very good at playing "Hey Cow"... had the trail to ourselves pretty much of the way but saw a few bike riders when we headed back.

This was hard to get to buy ready to find. I've never seen this kind of cache before.
I've heard of these, but this is my first find of this type. Quite difficult getting into it, blackberries and over grown shrubbery, but a good find all the same.
After doing some caches last night I had a rare day off and had a bike and a geodog willing to come along this part of the Bass Coast Rail track. With plenty of caches on offer to add points to the Planets challenge, we set off from Anderson. Thanks Gonefishen07 for you work which I admire. Is this cache a piece of space junk from Chinese satellite? Could have been- Lunch - Just need power. Fav point anyway.
Apologies for the late log. My family were away in New Zealand so I planned a few caching excursions and I’m still catching up on logs. This was a great day spent on bikes on the Bass Coast Rail Trail with liambaxter88. Rain was forecast so were really pleased to get through till just after lunch when we had to abandon and not before we had brought up Liam’s biggest ever caching day. I apologise for my logs being largely generic as I didn’t take notes on the day and have been slow to log. Now I certainly have never seen a container such as this one. Very amusing. My 15th of 49 finds for the day. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache and the series Gonefishen07. This one earns a favourite point from me.

Continuing on our adventure after attending the Alexandra Mega Event, we found ourselves spending a few days on Phillip Island. While we tried to take advantage of the many great places to see on the island, we were pre-occupied with trying to complete the qualifying requirements for a particular challenge cache we had signed in Ballarat prior to the Surf Coast Mega Event last year. It really does pay to check the finer details of a challenge cache before you decide to look for it 
We had thought you needed to have found 100 caches in Victoria, but it was only when we came to log it that we realised the 100 caches in Victoria had to have been placed by the same cache owner 
Anyway, initially we thought we would complete the challenge by doing the Mt Disappointment caches, but then friends who knew we were heading to Phillip Island told us we would easily qualify for the challenge there, and they would be much more interesting caches
Well they were quite interesting, and some of them were downright sneaky
In the end, we had an enjoyable couple of days exploring Phillip Island and finding a variety of cache hides, with some great walks along some of the beaches and other places

In Melbourne with Cravo10 to attend the Mega in Alexandra.
We took the red eye from Perth, leaving at 1am Thursday morning, and departed Melbourne early Tuesday morning, so it was a short five day trip.
We managed to snag a couple of nice stats for the trip. First mega event, 12 cache types in a day, 10 lab caches, 50th large cache find, and most importantly my 10,000th find at Mount Disappointment.
We spent the first day on a caching run from
Melbourne to Phillip Island where we had booked into the local caravan park for the evening. We cached all day chasing down a number of the whereigo and puzzle caches from the CF series, before ending the day caching the extremities of Phillip Island, where we had both never been, an amazing part of this country.
Next morning we cached our way to Alexandra which was the main reason for our trip to Melbourne as we had both never managed to attend a mega, which were hoping to rectify in WA next year! Attended the pre event and managed to get a couple of group FTFs by torchlight which was a real highlight.
Saturday we cached in and around Alexandra all day, chasing numbers, the highlight of the day would have to be the birdbox hides around Alexandra and the multi in Bonnie Doon from that famous TV show, a real nice touch!
Sunday was an epic caching day, chasing down 12 types in a day, which required a couple of huge drives to claim some of the rarer icons around. A huge caching stat which is a very rare feat in the Southern Hemisphere. We finished the day travelling to Mount disappointment where we found Melbourne's 1st cache and then started making a dent in the powertrail, finishing by torchlight.
Our last full days caching was spent at Mount Disappointment to chase some big numbers and with a few caches around the burbs for good measure.
Special thanks to all the wonderful COs around Melbourne for their brilliant caches, and to the mega committee for organising a ripper event, hope to be back next year!

Some quality caches were found all over the state, great to get a real range of cache sizes with some very large caches compared to what’s available in WA and the range of D/T options so close to each other was a bonus.

I offered up my Uncle duties to the three kids for the day but they had plans so I threw the bike in the car to head down to the rail trail series again. I didn't see many people on the trail today but even better was the lack of flies. They really got to me last time I came here.
27 cache finds and 3 dnf's.
Not bad all in all. The weather was great and the exercise was much needed.
Time to finish off this section of the rail trail. I saw it. I climbed in and retrieved the log and signed and replaced. Not hard at all. Don't know why others couldn't do it......

I usually cache on my own but sometimes I will collect my nephew stinky bob and my brother stinky tom who both enjoy this hobby.

I tackled the last part of the Bass Rail Trail starting and finishing at Mc Garth Road. Another good cycling experience with plenty of caches to keep me amused the along the way. The ride back to the car was a nice downhill run. Cheers and TFTC
I am heading NE along the rail-trail. Thank you so much for this string of caches. I couldn't find some which I will aim to report on. It is a poor morning for caching with constant light rain - unpleasant for caching. I'll have to start awarding some favourite points.
While out in the company of the McLookers we set out to get a start on the trail with bikes ready & roaring, plenty of water and snacks packed we were off. The sun belting down made for a hot ride but with sunscreen applied and our helmets for protection we enjoyed the trail and all caches on offer. Most caches were found with only a few DNF'S as we kept the pace up ...pedal, search, sign, pedal!

A log was cooking today, love a large cache.
In the area on bikes with The Tritonz with the aim of completing the Rail Trail. The grass was very, very long in many places. Fortunately we did not see a snake...I am not sure how as it was a very snakey kind of day. Thanks GF07, it is a brilliant picturesque trail that gave us the opportunity to see another very pretty part of Victoria.

Steve and Erin out and about on our adventure day, decided to come back to Kilkunda and have a meander down the historic Bass coast rail trail and grab some caches while we are at it. TFTF )

)Targeting large sized caches down Kilcunda way (there's quite a grouping here) saw me make the find at around 5pm. The two series' by tassieexpat up the road had slowed me down and I was glad to make an easy find here.

Found on our last day in this area. We've decided to start at this end of the trail and see how far we can get, we'll have to come back to get the rest. At last the weather is pleasant for walking, although the flies are loving us! Apologies for the generic logs. TFTC
We did a huge chunk of the rail today, so much work has gone into this, the variety of hides and types of containers. The weather was good to us, alothou very windy at times trying to blow us of our bikes. We enjoyed the ride and will continue to do some more tomorrow, Thanks for the hides.
