After doing some caches last night I had a rare day off and had a bike and a geodog willing to come along this part of the Bass Coast Rail track. With plenty of caches on offer to add points to the Planets challenge, we set off from Anderson. Thanks Gonefishen07 for you work which I admire. This one fits in well with the type of countryside and farming. Geodog has been enjoying the animals in the paddock. Fav from me. Quick find

Apologies for the late log. My family were away in New Zealand so I planned a few caching excursions and I’m still catching up on logs. This was a great day spent on bikes on the Bass Coast Rail Trail with liambaxter88. Rain was forecast so were really pleased to get through till just after lunch when we had to abandon and not before we had brought up Liam’s biggest ever caching day. I apologise for my logs being largely generic as I didn’t take notes on the day and have been slow to log. We were on a good run of finds along here and this one didn’t delay us. My 13th of 49 finds for the day. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache and the series Gonefishen07.

13-Jan-18
I decided I was going to try and remember these caches by their imaginative names and this was one which I definitley remember. Quick find, thanks!

This series was part of my biggest caching day so far! #13 out of #51! Thanks to AnnoyingTarbit for taking me down here and Gonefishen07 for the time put into the series. We somewhat managed to avoid most of the rain.

Continuing on our adventure after attending the Alexandra Mega Event, we found ourselves spending a few days on Phillip Island. While we tried to take advantage of the many great places to see on the island, we were pre-occupied with trying to complete the qualifying requirements for a particular challenge cache we had signed in Ballarat prior to the Surf Coast Mega Event last year. It really does pay to check the finer details of a challenge cache before you decide to look for it Surprised We had thought you needed to have found 100 caches in Victoria, but it was only when we came to log it that we realised the 100 caches in Victoria had to have been placed by the same cache owner Twisted

Anyway, initially we thought we would complete the challenge by doing the Mt Disappointment caches, but then friends who knew we were heading to Phillip Island told us we would easily qualify for the challenge there, and they would be much more interesting caches Razz Well they were quite interesting, and some of them were downright sneaky Surprised

In the end, we had an enjoyable couple of days exploring Phillip Island and finding a variety of cache hides, with some great walks along some of the beaches and other places Big Grin

Thank you Gonefishen07 for having placed the cache and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy Cool

This one I found very close to the track. And it was a nice place to stop for some lunch, which I did.

07-Jul-17
I offered up my Uncle duties to the three kids for the day but they had plans so I threw the bike in the car to head down to the rail trail series again. I didn't see many people on the trail today but even better was the lack of flies. They really got to me last time I came here.

27 cache finds and 3 dnf's.
Not bad all in all. The weather was great and the exercise was much needed.

Time to finish off this section of the rail trail. A quick find here and just as well with the lone muggle and puggle approaching. Signed and replaced and moved along.

Thanks Gonefishen07

Since moving from New Zealand I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches. I have got a nice streak going and hoping to let it run for as long as possible. I usually cache on my own but sometimes I will collect my nephew stinky bob and my brother stinky tom who both enjoy this hobby.
A big thanks goes out to all the cachers and cache owners without whom this lifestyle would not be possible.
The caches I’ve found in Australia so far have for the most part all been in great condition. Keep up the good work.

I tackled the last part of the Bass Rail Trail starting and finishing at Mc Garth Road. Another good cycling experience with plenty of caches to keep me amused the along the way. The ride back to the car was a nice downhill run. Cheers and TFTC

I am heading NE along the rail-trail. Thank you so much for this string of caches. I couldn't find some which I will aim to report on. It is a poor morning for caching with constant light rain - unpleasant for caching.

31-Dec-16
While out in the company of the McLookers we set out to get a start on the trail with bikes ready & roaring, plenty of water and snacks packed we were off. The sun belting down made for a hot ride but with sunscreen applied and our helmets for protection we enjoyed the trail and all caches on offer. Most caches were found with only a few DNF'S as we kept the pace up ...pedal, search, sign, pedal!
Thanks Gonefishen07 for your efforts put into this rail trail series, we had a ball.

31-Dec-16
Loved the camo and made it a ride by!

In the area on bikes with The Tritonz with the aim of completing the Rail Trail. The grass was very, very long in many places. Fortunately we did not see a snake...I am not sure how as it was a very snakey kind of day. Thanks GF07, it is a brilliant picturesque trail that gave us the opportunity to see another very pretty part of Victoria.

Steve and Erin out and about on our adventure day, decided to come back to Kilkunda and have a meander down the historic Bass coast rail trail and grab some caches while we are at it. TFTF Smile)

Found on our last day in this area. We've decided to start at this end of the trail and see how far we can get, we'll have to come back to get the rest. At last the weather is pleasant for walking, although the flies are loving us! Loved the camo on this one. Apologies for the generic logs. TFTC

16-Jan-16
We did a huge chunk of the rail today, so much work has gone into this, the variety of hides and types of containers. The weather was good to us, alothou very windy at times trying to blow us of our bikes. We enjoyed the ride and will continue to do some more tomorrow, Thanks for the hides.

After just 2 hours sleep, JSando and I got up super early, with bikes and esky loaded and headed to Wonthaggi for the annual New Years event, with a plan to knock over at least a small piece of the rail trail around here. This was our seventeenth find for the day and another brilliant container. Damn these flies, they're starting to get to the unbearable stage, despite bushmans spray. Many TFTC

02-Jan-16
I'm not quite sure who spotted this one first, it seemed to me to be a bit of a joint find for lochb and G of GJMMelb (I'm sure they will correct me in their own logs). I hope not too many dogs get walked along this rail trail or this cache might got AWOL...

A magic day for a nice ride along this rail trail which we wouldn't have known about if it wasn't for this series. It was so nice that the I expected to see a snake or two lounging in the sun but we didn't see any all day.
A nice easy one for GeoJunior to find. In good condition. TFTC.

16-Nov-15
After the Mega OrionJ and ourselves, LHE Duo decided to head back to Phillip Island for another night. On the way we decided to add some more of the Rail Trail caches to our finds. OrionJ decided this one, Keego and Chil #6 was a good starting point. We went as far as Rail Trail Jim Beam before the heat and time caught up with us. We enjoyed this part ofnthe trail as much as the ones a few days earlier.

This was another one which did not take long to find and log. TFTC

16-Nov-15
On the way back to Phillip Island for the night with LHE Duo to see the Little Penguins and we decided to take a little look and find a few caches along the Rail Trail on the way.

We started out at the Northern end at "Rail Trail - Keego_and_Chil #6" and followed the trail through to "Rail Trail-Who's for a Jim Beam?". This was not a logical stopping point however the heat of the day was getting to us and also time was pushing on with a few other specific caches we wanted to do, that had something of a time limit on them.

Along the way we only encountered one problem at "Rail Trail-Haveanez's Biggest Phobia!!!!" which we did not find, and I wonder maybe Haveanez biggest phobia may be a DNF.

Otherwise it was a really nice day out collecting 23 along the trail today. Apologies for the copy and paste logs.

TFTC

15-Nov-15
Another quick and easy find, and very creative container, as we continue along the trail. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.

#854 - My forth and final day down the coast today and I had decided last night that I would just do a few easy caches on my way back up North. As I drove past Kilcunda though, I ended up surprising myself and parking…

I still had half a rail trail to complete and a bike in the back! Even though I was extremely tired and sore from the last three days of intense caching, my mind was made up and well.. Once a Mountain Goat’s mind is made up, good luck changing it!

So off I rode, completing the second half of the rail trail. Even though the sun was out in full force today, there was no muggles to be seen! This was a huge bonus and sped up my ride considerably as I did need to be getting home!

By the time I hit the end of the rail trail, I had been able to put 45 smileys on caches and only had 7 DNF’s which was a good figure considering the rush I was in. Once again the high standard and variety of caches that awaited me blew me away. Such a well put together series that keeps you interested and always guessing!

Thank you again Gonefishin07 for the time and effort you have put into this series.

So ummm. No, I won't ask. Moving on!

In Wonthaggi this weekend for a whole heap of geocaching! Hopefully going to hit 900 finds by Sunday evening.

Friday afternoon, wanted to get the rail trail from Anderson to Woolamai completed, and I did just that. About 35 finds (I think) in about 3 hours, so safe to say i'm pretty happy, a good start to the weekend!

It wasn't me!!

What a great day to be meandering around our lovely country side with Sixy2Sue. Thanks for the extra excuse to get out and about. Very inventive

27-Feb-15
We made the trip down from Cranbourne to Anderson to find all the caches between Woolamai Racecourse and Anderson, having already found 10 a week or so ago. Most caches are easily found although some care needs to be taken whilst walking through long grass for snakes.

This one gave us a chuckle, but well thought out.

TFTC Smile

Ironically walking to the previous cache. My muggle friend picked up one of these and joked "is this the cache?" Then we get here and find this hide we were a bit surprised at how quickly the came around. Another unique hide TFTC

15-Jan-15
We were staying in Korumburra for a couple of days with The Drovers with the main gaol of completing this rail trail and also hopefully picking up a few challenge caches.
Today started off windy and rainy but at least the rain held off long enough for us to do the first leg. On the plus side there were no muggles to worry about as we only passed one other person on the entire track.
We had a fantastic time finding some unusual containers and with only one DNF we can say what a ball we had today.
Many thanks Gonefishen07 for not only the trail but for all the work and effort that you have put into the hides.
We apologise for the generic log but are leaving a favourite point on each one to show our appreciation.

15-Jan-15
Met up with Team Crackers for 2 days, to tackle the Rail Trail and a few local caches.
With the threat of rain, we headed out on the bikes.
We found a good variety of hides, with the odd one being a little tricky.
This is a fantastic trail, and we award each one a favourite point.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Gonefishen07, for us and others to find.

05-Jan-15
Found by Mary & David at 1415. No bone-picking today please. A quick find once again instead. Our thanks to Gonefishen07.

Travelling around Australia in our Caravan with our cat, today was moving day.

We were moving closer to attend the Wonthaggi New Years Event. After setting up camp it was nearly 3pm but Mr Felix was keen to make a few finds. Mrs Felix dropped him at the end of the rail trail. By 5.45pm it was time to return to cook dinner so the Anchors were thrown and a pick up was set. Razz

An awesome numbers run today with a plan to pass 4000 finds by the end of the year. Managed to find 32 all up which had left me with only 13 to go before the milestone cache.

This was one of many caches found today. Some impressive hides seen and this northern section of the bass rail trail now complete. Apologies for the generic logs

Out for a day of caching and bike riding with cjfinda, robber44 and rest of the geo family. It was not the greatest day for caching but it was better than yesterday so we chanced our arm (and our bikes). Quick find that the kids absolutely loved - go figure! Thanks.

I trust that no animals were injured in the preparation of this cache. [:0] TFTC

02-Nov-14
Out for a day of caching along the rail trail on our bikes with dad, grandad, mum and sister. Wild winds, rain showers and a soggy trail made it hard going at times but the great caches and thought that Gonefishen07 has put into this series made all the effort worthwhile.
My favourite container for the day. Thanks for providing caches that have so much variety and entertainment value.
TFTC!

26-Oct-14
Out for a Sunday caching run with the geo toddlers and thought we'd check out this trail... Its PERFECT! Toddlers were happy to run ahead on a well maintained trail all within sight! Fantastic way to tire them out Smile:)

The cache is fantastic, although now we have done a few up the trail, hubby and I wondered what the locals though as you were hauling the caches up the trail... Well done GoneFishen we cant wait to do some more on this trail Smile:)

Walking from the last one to this one we were followed by a heard of cattle... the squeals of excitement from geo-toddlers were priceless!!!

08-Aug-14
I had the day off and Trent from KTCvic also had the day off as he is now unemployed ( only for 3 days ) so we decided to go caching somewhere for the day. As these new caches came up over night we decided to come here and then on to The Rail trail from Anderson down to Woolamai, we had a great day chatting and wondering up in the bush here and down on to the rail trail. A big thank you to Leesa for picking us up at the end of the rail trail as we had to get back to Trent's son and pick him up from school, after picking him up we decided to go to the Cranbourne Botanic gardens and grab some caches there as well. Thanks Trent and Campbell for the company and thanks Gonefishen07

8/08/2014 13:05 Find #2555

Knowing today I wouldn't be working starting a new job Monday, I asked Bounty Trackers what his thoughts on a day caching, which was answered in the affirmative. Was picked up around 9.30 and we set off towards a bunch of newly published caches in South Gippsland.

A bunch of caches were found with a lot of chatting, bush bashing and a good walk between Anderson and Woolamai. Thanks for the day Bounty Trackers had a blast, Gonefishen07 thanks for the lift back to Anderson.

Now that's a bone!!! Quick find and replace, leaving thinking about the marrow hmmmmm.

Thanks for the cache Gonefishen07!!!

10-Jun-14
Excuse the mainly generic logging. Down on a mission to ride the Bass Coast Rail Trail over a couple of days. Day 1 meant parking at Anderson's ParknRide but didn't realise that related to another type of ride!

30-May-14
Found! Found quickly Smile I think this might have been real??

The day started for me at 7:25am & I finished at 5:29pm in Wonthaggi. I had the most enjoyable time seeing plenty along the way & enjoyed the variety of cache hides & containers. A brilliant effort and I thank the CO for the most enjoyable day out!

We were fortunate today to strike a day that had sunshine and a cooling breeze. We ventured along this well formed track with LazzaL and pet dog Lillie taking in the rural view to the wonderful coastline and making bee-lines for the creative caches. We would read about the next cache on the way and try and guess what item had been used to individualize and create a sense of fun in each hide. We loved it and enjoyed finding this cache. I am sure no animal was destroyed in the making of this cache Big GrinBig Grin. Thanks to Gonefishen07 for the enormous effort that has been put in to enhance of enjoyment of this caching experience.

25-Mar-14
A big day out on the rail trail today with fellow cachers Liz and Bruce and we managed to find a total of 79 well hidden and thoughtout caches. There was quite a variety of cache containers/hides, often the name of the cache giving a clue as to what to look for. Thanks to Gonefishen07 for hiding this cache.

22-Mar-14
My plan today was to do the 31 caches that were part of the 2013 extension. I would do them on foot with featherdown meeting me with the car in the middle bit. The weather was cool about 17 degrees with intermittent showers. I thoroughly enjoyed this section, probably paretly because I found them all, easily and I encountered just two other trail users which gve me a nice bit of morning solitude. All up they took about 1hr 45 with 2km of backtracking.
I thought the variety of hides showed great imagination, and every cache name gave me a hint of what to expect. Never a dull moment
Apologies for 31 generic logs through here.
Thanks muchly gonefishenSmile

Melbourne parties Friday noon and returned Tuesday morning in Melbourne. I came here to make different trail of caches in the area. It was intense few days with my bike but very nice! I could find caches with superb camouflage, very good ideas from the cachers. This log will be the same for all caches that I made (sorry) But I want to congratulate in particular:

Nut bear & BorisB & Natasha for "Bay Trail" and "Red Hill Express" (Beautiful cover!)
The Three Amigos Geo for "The Pathway"
Gonefishen07 for the great "Rail Trail"

As well as other geocacher who I discovered several caches during these few days.
Thank you very much

Greetings from France
I will be at Mega event with my friend who just especially France also "Ckronos"
