Love the name of this cache! Very clever.Found the little grotto and managed to add my name but the logbook has certainly seen better days. Plenty of roos up here also admiring the views. Nice spotthanks!
Found while out for a walk, introducing a friend to geocaching. As this was a premium, I decided to go for it anyway. We were returning from finding a nearby cache and we took the detour to this one. Once at GZ we quickly spotted the hide. The log is a mess and is getting mouldy; it should be replaced soon. Log signed and all replaced and we headed on our way. TFTC.
Quick find. Didn't want to touch as I think it mouldy and probably carrying the a new Covid-20 variant
Lots of random nice views had a muggle dog wanting to come in this mini adventure with me to find this cache.
FOUND IT!
Log book needs to be renewed since it’s a little bit dirty but lovely cache coordinates are a bit off but very nice cache

A focus area for some after hours caching while in the ACT for work. A short walk, wee scramble and a scout around, the container was spotted and log retrieved for business. Name etched, everything returned as found, I headed up the hill for one more before moving on.
Cheers qbncachers, jubecube, xanderisms & timmy_3112.

Quick find, at the end of my little hike and before I called back the uber to the street nearby this cache. Took TB.

Great views! Log needs attention as it’s only just sign-able. Maybe it will dry out? TFTC
Found but log is pretty wet. I still managed to write my name in. Thanks for hiding and maintaining this cache qbncachers
A windy, very Autumnal-feeling day was a perfect time to tackle the Cuumbeun Nature Reserve. Since the Ellerton Drive extension has been built, access from the western approach is tricky or discouraged (a lot of private property signs around, but not so sure that it really is...), so I elected to park at the soccer field at Wright Park and take the e-TOTT.
I went south and then northwest along the Old Sydney Road and then the Queanbeyan Fire Trail, to essentially describe a 'V' shape before heading back the way I came. 22.43km return from Wright Park to Microwave Mineshaft and back to the car over a few hours. The trails here remind me a lot of the Bullen Range - loose gravel, and extremely steep ups and downs. Enormous fun.
This cache was quickly located, and is in good condition.

We may have looked a bit suss, being late late in the day & wandering off into the bushes...
There were a few folks on the field but we made the find out of their view, then returned to check out the sports stand. Although not having been in the area before, something was vaguely familiar about the place. Up on the sports stand I was vaguely reminded of sports fields and scenes from North American films. "Election" (1999) vaguely came to mind with one character sitting above watching a sports match.
On driving out, we spotted the title reference & groaned. Thanks to a standup comedy routine, I can't help but think of an overweight guy collapsed on the toilet floor. Kids... don't do drugs!

TFTC. Log was damp, probably not helped by not being in a ziplock bag inside the cache container.
Bit of a scrabble, but got there in the end. Nice outlook across the town.
Cache a little wet, poured out as best I could. thanks for the fun.

The co-ords were a little bit out on the GPS but nothing like the phone! The 'Smart' thing had me 14,096km from the cache which I thought was stretching it a bit - ha ha. Did what all good Techos do, switched it off then back on - presto. All good. Thanks for this cache, safe and dry.
Taking the fleabags for walk on a beautiful day and came across the cache after a quick search. Being a Sunday afternoon, the playing fields were relatively quiet
Took nothing, left nothing and signed the log.

Robin led today’s Canberra Bushwalking Club walk through Cuumbeun Nature Reserve which provided the opportunity to find a couple geocaches. A walk of about 9km in four and a half hours, the weather was warm and the walking conditions pleasant. This cache was a straightforward find, being in an obvious spot on the coordinates. Thank you to COs for installing and maintaining this cache.
Being in and around Canberra for a special event which is happening Saturday afternoon meant I had a free morning. Because of this, I decided on collecting some more caches focusing this time on regular/large size containers and solved puzzles. But before I did that I started with ‘The Walker’ WIG around the lake (This makes 2/3 found now). Unlike yesterday, I did struggle with the cartridge but after the 2 hours(ish) ride around with plenty of rests, I got the right coordinates: THANKFULLY. A lot easier ride then yesterday. I then headed back out to Queanbeyan near to where I am staying and collecting more of the caches around which fit into the categories above. Tonight, I may go back out and collect some more around the area. TB visit on all caches. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found, for allowing them to bring joy to me and to the rest of the caching community. TFTE and TFTC’s
A quick find while caching around Queanbeyan with Regxna, our second for the day.

After the nearby CITO event, I decided to hang around Queanbeyan and find a few nearby and/or interesting caches while I was over here (where I live, in Dunlop, is about the furtherest away CBR suburb from QBN) ... I eventually left the area, and headed home, after it got dark - LOL
TFTC - I decided to do a quick duck in to large crappy homewares and fabric/yarn/etc shop, because I noticed it was almost 4pm and I wasn't sure if that was when it closes (spent $5 on some cheap yarn). Realised as I turned in off the highway, this was where I needed to turn off for this cache anyway... So after confirmation that most stuff in that shop is still as expensive and junky as it has been for years, I came up and parked near the locked gate, and wandered about 60m across, and 20m UP - lol
Nice view though... Can see Black Mountain Tower from here... I live about this far from it - but on the opposite side! (I should be home having lunch... Er... Dinner... but I am having fun, and there is at least one more cache I want to find
Interesting size variation between some of those houses down there too ...

The weekly caching trip organised by Marmaduke Rothschild. We had new cacher Fred4655 with us. Some drive-bys in Queanbeyan (this one with a small walk). TFTC.
The eldest geodaughter and myself had 105 minutes to kill in Queanbeyan while the youngest was at Oliver rehearsals... so why not do a few caches!
We did some suburban parks, some ones along the old highway plus a few here and there. Fun night in the cold.
Steepish climb up in the dark, but fun

First day of the long weekend and I was off for an afternoon geomission to finish off the rest of the ALL7 series off Captain's Flat Rd and a few other randoms as well
Went to nab this one before the wander up the hill to grab some others but there were a group of youths up on the stands up to god knows what. After collecting the others, the youths had gone so wandered along to make the easy find [^]
Thanks for the hide, qbncachers

With dty73 we came across to this side of town for a little cache maintenance and as I needed to find four caches for the day, this was about as far from home as it gets for a 'local' suburban cache. Great for saving the ones close to home for those tricky days.
This had a nice loop of four in this area so looked good, also ended up being quite a nice walk through the area, following along on the little tracks and roads. Ended up being much warmer walking through than the mornings cold start, I'm getting slack from lack of walking it seems and the hills, as slight as they were, caused more puff than usual! I need to get out more it seems!
Didn't take us so long and a pleasant enough walk. All caches were easily found, in good condition and a bit of slight bush at times but mostly straight forward and enjoyable. Thanks for the cache qbncachers, jubecube, xanderisms and timmy_3112

Aquilus1 and I were on this side of town performing some cache maintenance and showing a new friend the ropes on caching and Adventure Labs, when we were about to go into the City to do a little shopping for a party we were going to tonight, when Aquilus1 remembered that she needed four caches today, so we made a detour to up here to grab a good little bunch of caches.
We parked nearby and walked along past the fields then up to GZ. I straight forward find of the cache before heading off up the hill to the next one. Tftc qbncachers, jubecube, xanderisms and timmy_3112!!!

#15452. Robmc and I are into day 4 of our 2 week holiday staying at Carwoola. With the Mega put to bed we are now free to go chasing caches further afield. Didn't venture too far today but completed the SRPT Series and a few others along the way before doing more caches along Wanna Wanna Road (very close to our accommodation). Finished the day with 71 finds and 2 DNFs.
After a cuppa and a snack and about 5 minutes break we gathered the geo-doggies and brought them to these 3 large ovals for a bit of a free run and to find just a few caches. This was the second of them. Must say I did not enjoy the rock scrambling up and down the hill. On our return to the car I got the point of this cache, after reading the big sign on the opposite side of the road.
Thanks qbncachers

Day four in Queanbeyan.
BettyBoo3747 and I started with the SRPT before lunch, lunched in Sutton, then collected some more caches around home, some in Wanna Wanna Road and a few while walking the dogs in Queanbeyan.
We thought we would walk the dogs across the top field, but found this one was no dogs!
So we dropped down a field and walked that one and round the back of the top one to the cache.
I think the dogs appreciated the extra distance.
We only realised what the title meant as we were driving away - very cute.
Thanks, Robmc.

The Mega is so very close now, and I need to carefully count my caches in order to reach my goal of 5000 caches at the mega! I picked up ZQX and we headed to Quenabeyan to collect a few selected caches and a few fandoms as well to make up numbers. Fortunately or unfortunately, while doing the AL cache, I got 5 lab caches added to my count! Now I have to be super careful! 8 caches today and 5 lab caches puts me super close to my goal. A fun day out with some quick finds , and not so quick finds! Thanks ZQX for the company.
This cache: seemed silly not to collect this one while in the area. Nice views from GZ, and then a gentle walk back to the car!

With The Matetrix studying hard I though to head to the hills for a few nearby caches. No muggles about, the fields below empty, an easy find. I remember playing here when I was 11, a few years ago now. We lost. TNLNSL TFTC
Was in the area so visited this cache to log trackables back around Canberra.
In Queanbeyan for SES training (from Wollongong) and thought I’d take advantage of my early morning with some caching and was happy to see a few within walking distance. Completed a nearby cache. Should have looked at this one a little more in depth as I’m sure there was an easier way to get to it then the way I went. After a short climb and dodging a lot of Roos, the cache was soon in hand. Was also lucky enough to see a hot air balloon off in the distance.

Sunday walk with the geokids. We think it was displaced as we found it on the surface halfway down the hill. We placed it an obvious position at ground zero. Might need to check.
