I came I saw I was puffed by the hill. Use walking sticks to get here. Nice view tftc!!

Found it, Yay!

18-Sep-24
TFTC. I walk here almost every day. Finally thought of looking for Geocaches in the area. Great hiding spot.

16-Aug-24
Over visiting from NZ and using the time to do as much caching as other commitments allow. The wet weather over the last few days had dampened things down nicely and made for pleasant walking conditions today. I was surprised at the number of MTB'ers seen today, being as it was a Friday. .. According to Strava, I did 9.2km walking today with an elevation gain of 308m with 100% finds, so was pleased with that.Took a little while here to make the find as the original hint no longer applies. Once I realised this, I used the photo hint from Davinells to then make a nice quick find. Certainly nice views from up here. Saw fire in the foreground and fire in the distance. TFTC

17-Jul-24
After seeing that this had been replaced recently, I returned, found the cache and signed the log. Such a great view from up here. Tftc

05-Jul-24
Came down to Brisbane today to chase a few older caches that have been on the to-do list for a while. This area was next on the list so a grabbed my water and headed up the steep hill. I saw the long list of DNFs so came armed with a replacement cache have a placed it in the fork of the tree, chest height, 3-4m into the bush from the large fallen tree. Attached is a photo of the tree. Thanks jumbucksFind #6131

An enjoyable morning walk of 8km finding 15 caches and one DNF, with my non-Premium friend sausage3.We spent about 10 minutes searching and spreading our search, but we couldnt find anything - not even a broken container.

20-Apr-24
Did not expect to find this cache after reading previous logs and there was no sign of it.

23-Sep-23
Couldnt find behind any tree and it being bright red Id have found it. Maybe washed away or moved? Will come back at another time and look again as I have to make it to the mailbox, hopefully my legs dont give on me next time

23-Sep-23
After extensive searching in the area with Wuffcakes...Was not successful in locating. We'll try again another time but afraid it might yield the same results!

29-Jul-23
unfortunately this cache was destroyed by someone or something. I found the red box empty and the lid further down the track. Put them back together and behind the tree. I recommend the owner puts in a new logbook and some treasures.

29-Jul-23
This geocacher reported that the cache might be missing.

6/7/2023 Find #6256
With only a couple of days left of the holidays, I took off for the afternoon keen to get a few caches, one particular one being in this area of bush.
Last time I came here I opted to park in a different location - by the Billiau Road Fire Track - and dealt with its relentless up. Today I opted for a different approach, and parked over near the quarry to begin a much more sensible and enjoyable hike.
I have no idea why I didn’t look for this one during my last outing here, as I came to the lookout - let’s put it down to some sort of exhaustion scrambling the brain. Unfortunately I found the cache today with no lid nor logbook 15 m out from coords. Having nothing with me to assist in the maintenance all I could do was take photos, but this one is certainly going to need some CO intervention.
Thanks for the cache jumbucks.

Cache was soaked, logbook and items were damaged, cleaned it out and placed temporary "logbook". Needs a proper waterproof container and logbook.

Pretty quick find after finding something that looked a little out of place!

Filled to the top with water despite being tightly shut so was unable to sign.

Sent a picture as proof, thanks for the cache!

A great trip away with davidwazza! TFTC!

10-Jul-22
This morning, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I planned to take baby Warren on a walk up to Mount Cotton. We took the direct main route up to the summit, and then proceeded to take a loop around the area via the *What Goes Up Must Come Down* (WGUMCD) series. To replenish our energy, we then detoured past Capalaba for a lunch, before proceeding home.
In the late afternoon, it was an errand at Clontarf that allowed me to drive north and visit a few more of the *Witch's Hat* series.

We set out on this walk departing from the trailhead at 09:20 hr, and we walked a total distance of 6.9 km across an elevation of 232 m, with a moving time of 1:40 hr. Despite that, we ended up getting back to our cars just after 12:00 hr, as per my [Strava record](https://www.strava.com/activities/7443275065). A few nice-looking mountain biking trails that I'd love to come back to. It must have been a long walk for baby Warren as she took a short nap during the last kilometre.

What great views from the nearby lookout position, and we took the opportunity to stop to have a bite to eat, while baby Warren did the opposite and stretched her legs on the platform. We ended up finding this cache container after finding the nearby letterbox hybrid cache, and although the cache container was in ok shape, the logbook was unfortunately in an atrocious condition. There was water inside the container, and the logbook was saturated and mouldy. A TLC visit is urgently required to this one. Thanks jumbucks for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Today was a practice walk for my son. Who has a 18km walk to do in May. He needs a little bit exercise for his challenge. It work out to be 5km walk over 3 hours. Of course half that time was find caches. Few took little bit longer than they should.
This trip we found 6, the breakdown was 4 traditional, mystery and a letterbox. Lots of fun and pain was found.

Cache full of water. To wet to sign

18-Jan-22
Today was the first ruzzelz ride event for 2022. With a hard core ride planned for today only two victims came along for the torture test. TaxisVW and DrPam had serious mechanical issues before the ride started ( air in tyres is essential as are sound tubes), stealth seeker was ready to role and so it was that we took on the challenge of clearing out most ( but not all of the caches in this area.

I have ridden these trails several times before. However my usual MTB friends are not geocachers so stopping to cache has not been an option.

Thanks to the various cachers for placing caches along the trails. Cool

Have never been happier to find the last cache and reach the top! Why was this walk done on a 35 degree day Sat down to some good views and drank a lot of water. Thanks for bringing us up here!

A lovely walk up here today, the views were fantastic. I picked this one up on the way back from Mount Cotton Post.
Thanks jumbucks for the cache.

Love that kind of walk
Cache was a quick find, left a digital death vader, covered back up with natural camo, wasn’t aware of the structure that used to be here though cache is in the obvious spot...

Thank you, jumbucks, for placing this cache for our enjoyment.

We had a few target caches today after the CITO. After a comfort stop it was off to a familiar area but an area I needed to revisit.

The discussion was where to park so off we headed. On arrival it was surprising to see so many cars parked at the entrance. Mountain bikes were every where. To our surprise the area has been converted to suit MBs. Our tracks had not been changed and were just as steep as i remember from my last trip.

Glad to see this one has been kept alive. Found from note of previous finder.

29-May-21
After attending the CITO event at Wellington Point, I joined a group of geo-friends who were wanting to find a few targeted caches in this area.

More up and up we went until we reached the summit and what a view!!! Structure no longer there but did find the cache in a likely spot. SL then returned as found.

After scoring a DNF on this one recently, Muggle65 and l added a logbook to the throw down and added our names. Walked up a different way this time and the view was awesome. Great spot for a cache!

29-May-21
Thank you TeamTinda for placing a Throw Down, as we were out here to find the resting place of the IQ5 cache& I thought we’d revisit this location & added a logbook to the pill bottle not DNFed anymore

17-May-21
In near perfect conditions, the whole walk up here today was a wonderful experience.
When I reached this point, I decided I would give the CO some options:
I just happened to have a good pillbox in my pocket so I have ‘replaced the cache’ (aka ‘placed a throwdown’) under a suspicious pile of rocks at the base of a tree very close to the given coords. This could be used until such time as the CO is able to do a full replacement.
Or, in light of the new viewing platform now built close by, which I was happy to test out (see pics), the CO may like to archive this cache and plan to place a new one at the viewing platform where there would be any number of good spots available.
Good luck with whatever you decide!

15-May-21
I think it is time for the CO to check the location.

02-May-21
Having been this way before and collected this Geocache in 2017, I can confirm that the structure is indeed gone and there is no sign of a cache here.

Nice new view platform being constructed opposite here. Only sign of the old building is the concrete lab. Sorry to say the cache is long gone.

Today I met a friend on the south side of town for an early bike ride and once this was done it was too early to go back north. Traffic was terrible. So I decided to explore this beautiful forest for 2 hours and find plenty of caches. All in great conditions. I had a great time!

Great walk and heart starter for a novice walker lol enjoy and safe travels to the TB I finally got to set on a mew journey

So my friend needed to visit the nearby post office on a Monday and I don’t mind adding Letterboxes to my list of places that leave a smile so I tagged along. We trudge up the steep hill stopping to talk to a property owner maintaining all his newly planted trees. Seeing as he didn’t offer us a lift on his quad bike we had no choice but to continue trudging up - what a lower calf killer! Found all safe and snug in the tree ruined structure.

We actually missed the view on our way up as we came around the hill a different way, so took the time to sit and enjoy it before moving on to the cache. We found the cache quickly with the simple clue, then continued on down the hill.

Thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment! It was our 9th find for the day.

Quick find. Was lying open and emptied on floor of shed. Travel bug tag but no medallion. Will fix and send on. Repacked cache and hid again. TFTC

Monday. Really interesting spot here. Glad for the hint here, as my arrow was going in the wrong direction Surprised A small amount of rubbish inside the shed though. We stopped just up the hill from here for a rest and a refresh and bite to eat – FANTASTIC spot and amazing views!

This was the 10th of 19 caches found on today's trip.

Thanks ***jumbucks***, for showing us this place. Smile

30-Dec-19
Mrs slow puncture and I decided to take our bikes to find 19 caches along these tracks. We started at Charlie and finished at giddy up It took us 5 hours and there were lots of times we needed to walk our bikes but other times it was a nice breezy ride. This was an interesting place for a cache. I was struggling with the hills to get to this point then saw a road not far away but then it was great to get back on the bike for another leasurley ride . Thanks for taking us here and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy.

23-Dec-19
Dropped the geohub and kid off at the cinema and came up for the walk. Unfortunately I couldn't see too much as there was quite a thick smoke haze today, but I could still appreciate how awesome the view was. And how nice to have a picnic area to sit and appreciate it, while you recover from the trek up the hill. I love where the cache is hidden too. Thanks for putting this here and giving me motivation for the climb on a very humid day. It was worth it

Easy find and we’ll have another look for the others on the way back. Tftc

08-Sep-19
No finds since July, and then 2 finds on the same day! Certainly abandoned here, but so be it. The 3 grandsons and grandad were very pleased to make it to the summit today, particularly the 3 year old! Had a little picnic at the top of the hill and a bit of rest to prepare for the 150 metre or so descent back to West Mt Cotton Rd.
Matty retrieved the cache container so we added to the log, but no swaps today. The container lid has gone awol, but given the hiding place all was dry with the contents.
TFTC, jumbucks, and we are very pleased to be able to add Mt Cotton to our list of peaks that we've ascended.

My idea of a cotton summit is either a pillow used to cradle the noggin before the bed bugs bite or a morning wood tenting the cotton sheets. So I was entering uncharted territory with this cache to find. Even more demanding when I had to enter a comms cabinet inside an abandoned structure.

Heading up the slope toward the summit came across the access road and car park. The first thought was, could i have driven up here?? But then I would have missed the very warm and muggy conditions that cleansed all that good alcohol and water through the pores pf my body. Why carry all that excess liquid inside the body when you can transfer to to your clothing!!

Got to admit the view from here would be spectacular if it wasn't so hazy from all that steam I generated coming up the mountain. A short walk from the carpark / lookout, entered the structure, finding it unoccupied but hiding a decent size cache. Left a message to be communicated via the crumpled antennae before going forth the the post box down the track. Thanks for bringing me to this lovely spot jumbucks.

What a fascinating spot and a great location to hide a cache! Fab views but a tad hazy today with the heat! At least TeamARF didn’t get locked in although it was tempting! Tftc

We grabbed this cache on our return from finding Mt Cotton Post. The poor old shed at GZ sure copped it from the tree. Cache was quickly found thanks to the hint.
Cache and contents are nice and dry.
Thanks for placing this cache Jumbucks and adding more fun to our hike.

08-Dec-18
While we were up here we, and when I say we I mean me, thought to check if there was any other caches up here while we were up here and what do you know, there is, but it is back there. Turning around we headed back from where we had just walked through.

With lots of old metal and iron laying around we thought we would read the hint here so we could possibly avoid any slithery friends that may be using the metal like a tanning machine. Of course it has to be in there, being the smallest Mrs 4ando wedged her way over with the tunes of Mr 4ando yelling out ‘you got it.’ Yeah I can see it but give me a minute to check all crevices before I go sticking my hand there!

Coast looks clear and my hand was in and out of there like lightening. Nice little soldier man sitting in there for our troubles.

18-Nov-18
I have been putting this search off for a long time as I know full well that it was going to be a climb for me so today I thought I would go and get the nearby letterbox cache as I needed one for November. Off I trudged up the steep hill and cursed myself all the way as when I was leaving the car I walked around it to get my walking poles and FORGOT to get them and just locked the door. I took a rest sitting on a log and a guy on a push bike speed past down the hill, his brakes must have been ok as I never saw him again. Eventually arrived at the top and sighed a sigh of relief and wonder why I put my knees through this exercise. A bit creaky around GZ but a quick find was made and I left my signature in the log book. TFTC

A nice climb up the mountain from Prime Climb Tree cache. Oh wow, what glorious views from up here. Didn't expect to see as far as we did today. All the way beyond the sea. We have thoroughly enjoyed our walk up here today in such beautiful bushland. This was no. 12 for us. It was very easy to find. Left some swaps in the pot for some others who may come up here with kids. TFTC and showing us this beautiful location. We stopped for a quick water break at the picnic table first up, then after doing the post one we came back and had our lunch at the table. Beware of the nettles up the top - both kids got nettled!!

See a number of caches along the trails that are not rated 1.5/1.5 plus with a few select targets like the letter box at the top and Alpha we decided to head off. We decided to head straight up and take the loop on the way back which seemed a good decision so picked off caches along the way. A few Roos spotted and a nice bit of bush and some views at times. We completed the signing suitors and re hid. TFTC.

16-Jun-18
Out for a day of caching with stortigirls and out'n'about. Our main target for the day was further up the hill, but we just had to find the caches along our way. We stopped to admire the nearby view and take a few photos before heading off to find the cache. It was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC

Out with Mrs RoddyC on a lovely day to get the letterbox cache further up the hill. With the smiley obtained for that one, it was time to head back down. As I hadn't found this one we detoured in so that I could get it. Found the battered hide, it's certainly had a hard life! Had to do round and round the garden to find the best way in but found the cache quickly once inside. Unfortunately none of the things pictured on the container were left when I opened it, they would have been very welcome by then. Consoled myself with signing the log instead and returned it all as found. Once done, we set off downhill and quicker than we thought, we were back at the car.
