Bfg's turn to look smug (yet again). Missed this one on the previous trip, and ran out of time on the way back. Decided not to make that mistake again. Took a while to spot as the coordinates didn't point to the obvious near trees. A hunch however paid off. TFTC
4 of us combed the area, I came up trumps — cache unscathed despite collapsed fence and bulldozed dirt. Thanks for placing ‘back in the day’ skindo!
We were worried that this cache had gone AWOL as there's been some gardening in this area, but B turned it up after 4 of us had looked for a while. TFTC skindo!
Fairly quick find after going over to pines then back to the front again and over the tape (its not electric) and made my way through the forest of long grass to the GZ. Once there I found something likely and teh cache was tucked right beside it. TFTC A beautiful day today with a light, warm southerly and **heaps** of cars about.
My GPS sent me in circles as well. I even came back the next day on the wayt out, but found nothing..
After this, I went to the nearest DOC camp down the road for some dinner and sleep. Nice place

Out enjoying a gorgeous sunny day driving in the Wairarapa. All safe and dry here. TFTC
Cold and wet day and we are out caching in this beautiful region. Nice park and grab. TFTC
Another drive by for us 3 this afternoon, Rebel drove us here, me and rusty did the searching and rusty found the cache here I think but it did take us awhile for some reason.
Out on a caching adventure with a group of Westies: rustynz, rebel98 and gorby
This was a tricky wee thing, with the GPS putting us all over the place under the tree cover. Took a little longer than the rest, but eventually it revealed itself, and our frowns turned into smiles. Thanks for the hide.

It's been a while since I last travelled out this way. I checked my map and was surprised to see how many unfound caches there were for me to look for. This was my first search for the day and I wasn't as easy as I expected. After expanding my search area, I found it in a place that seemed a bit unusual.
#4738. A sunny Saturday and I need to get my cache numbers up for the month. So decided another adventure in the southern Wairarapa was on the cards. So drove over here in the morning and after doing a few at the northern end of the lake, it was time to head south. Heading towards Cape Palliser now. Its still nice and sunny but the wind has really picked up. Took a few minutes to find this one as I meandered across the landscape, eventually ending up at a place that seemed suitable. But didn't see the cache at first. Only noticed after I did a bit of exposing the ground level by lifting back grass. Signed and replaced the cache back where found. Thanks for the cache skindo.
second time hunting here, today in daylight and no wet grass we made the random find, its not where we looked in the past, even this time we wanted to go back to the same place until we followed the gps instead. thanks for the placement
Today was another nice day for our holiday trip in new zealand were we of course also found some caches along the way.
Today we took a trip around wellington.
This is one of them. thank you for maintaining this cache.

Doing a couple of days geocaching in Wairarapa. After arriving decided to go as far south as possible and collect caches on the way back. The whole trip to Cape Palliser was fantastic the weather was great and the sea looked big, but may actually have been calm for this coast. All the caches along the coast are appreciated. Thanks for them all.
Pinetrees. Pinestumps. Pineposts. And pine thinnings made for an interesting find. SL TFTC
A fellow geocaching pair and us travelled to Cape Palliser today and had the best time finding caches and seals galore. Such a beautiful place, and many memories created. TFTC!
Had a great day with redsoxbean! Beaches, seals, pinnacles, and caches! Visiting from Pennsylvania, USA. TFTC ^_^
Out with Loth making our way to Cape Palliser. Logged many caches on the way and we hiked through the Putangirua Pinnacle to see the paths of the dead. We also saw seals along the beach and rocks. Tftc!!
We followed the steps of previous cachers and after a little wander around the trees we came to the right spot.
After a little walk in the trees I decided to go around the edge to locate the cache. TFTC.
Of course I went in the wrong way only for the GPS to send me over there. So over the fence, round the edge for a nice quick find and straight exit back out to the car. TFTC #8355
Once more I was back on the Cape Palliser Rd signing off the few caches I had to leave due to time constraints a couple of days ago.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Second day of my two-day trek in Southern Wairarapa. Down to White Rock, and then over to Cape Palliser for the night. Another quick find.. Thanks for the cache.
it was a bit hard to get to the zeropoint, but we managed to find and log the cache

Had to work out the right approach for this but once that was sorted it was a quick find. TFTC
We've been wanting to visit Palliser Bay for ages now, & we've picked a perfect day to do it. Sun's shining, no wind & very few muggles around.
Probably didn't take the easiest route to this cache, but we got there in the end.
Left a pet rock - a grey whale. TFTC skindo

Find #2301. The first find of the day of 16 caches all belonging to Skindo. A superb day on the coast with only a little cloud and best of all no wind! SL TFTC
Quick find while on a caching trip in the area
Enjoying finding all the caches

18237 km from home we found this Cache while our holidays. Thank you very much for hiding and greetings from Dresden, Germany!
Bit of a wander through teh undergrowth here. No hint. No b--- so must be b---, and it was.
Cache number 700 for me!
On a road trip to Palliser and Lake Wairarapa with Br'er Bear to collect caches we had run out of time to collect during our last visit to the area.
I followed the wee arrow on the GPS and took the direct route from the car which turned out to be the most difficult! Muggled by a guy in a big 4WD who thought we were there to pinch a small pine tree for Christmas. I'm not sure how he thought we were possibly going to fit it either on or in my tiny wee geocar! This one took us more searching than it should have. TFTC

On a quick dash out to Cape Palliser and back. This was find number 18 for the day. Cache quickly located, signed and replaced. TFTC.
Over in the 'Rapa for a Scouting weekend with Venturers - dropping them for a hike up to the Pinnacles. A nice quick find at GZ, before picking up the crew for the drive back to our camp spot.

Found on a >41 hour non-stop geo roadtrip from Wellington to Auckland via Cape Palliser and a whole bunch of skinny winding Wairarapa roads, in the esteemed company of slieschke, mike-miss and cretti. We picked up our rental car, dubbed the Idiot Box, and assumed our new identity as Team CRT, shortly after 8am at Wellington Airport and headed north.
We first headed to Porirua Harbour to take on the resident Kiwi geo art trail before heading over to the southern Wairarapa and Cape Palliser where we visited the light house at about midnight and tried our best to avoid seals while searching for a few caches along the southern most shore line of the North Island.
We headed up past Greytown and Carterton, focussing on caching areas west of SH2 this trip. There were some highlight caches, particularly around Carterton (I think) and some way up in the hills looking over the whole area from Masterton to Martinborough.
It was daylight again by the time we hit Masterton and we decided to hit fast forward and skip a planned area (will just have to come back again!) and shot through to Palmerston North where we got back into the swing of things.
We took the back-road up to Mangaweka, discovering some really fanstastic little places along the way, like a picnic area and waterfall way down in a canyon, and then we continued via Taihape, across and up through Owhango, to get some really old caches, and then north through Te Awamutu and back to Auckland to drop off the Idiot Box at the airport.
And of course, despite it then being after 1am on Monday morning, and raining kinda heavily, slieschke and I couldn't resist driving over to the North Shore for an FTF on a cache published earlier in the evening.
Thanks to all the cache owners along the way, even if we couldn't find your cache - all part of the adventure! Sorry for the copy/paste log, but just too many caches to remember *all* of them individually. TFTC!!!

A plan was hatched for yet another extreme, fly down, drive back caching weekend from Wellington to Auckland. This time, Cretti and slieschke joined in on what turned out to be another epic road trip with myself and funkymunkyzone (our third trip this year).
We all met up at Wellington Saturday morning as i ended up being on an earlier flight to the rest of the crew. Jumped in our rental which happened to be a Ssangyong SUV this time round and headed straight to Porirua Harbour to hit the Kiwi GeoTrail. From there on, we zig zagged our way through Wiararapa to Cape Palliser, back up through Martinborough, Masterton, Ekatahuna, Pahiatua, Palmerston North, Taihape, Te Awamutu and back home to Auckland in the early hours of Monday morning.
To save time and log space, we signed the logs as "Team CRT" travelling in the idiot box for the weekend. Lots of laughs were had over our 1500km+ / 41 hour road trip which consisted mainly of narrow gravel roads, some of which had spectacular scenery and views. Sorry for the copy/paste logs as its now all abit of a blur having only a few short naps in between. Many thanks to all the cache owners who have placed caches for us to find on another epic little adventure. TFTC!

Found in the company of Cretti, funkymunkyzone and mike-miss on a crazy Wellington to Auckland road trip in the idiot box. We traveled via the Kiwi GeoTrail in Porirua, the Wairarapa including Cape Palliser, the Manawatu, and back to Auckland via the western side of the Central Plateau. Signed as Team CRT. Despite very little sleep the weekend was a blast!
Thanks!
Thanks!

Out and about in Southern Wairarapa with Mrs gonefishing. Had a nice tiki-tour about, dodging the drizzle showers but enjoying the rugged scenery.

Heading for Wellington after a forced night camping out near Cape Palliser. After being rescued I continued my caching mission finding the caches I'd passed yesterday getting to the Cape. Cache easily found. TFTC.

This one had me looking all over the place and took much longer than I'd hoped, but all the sweeter once found. TFTC
Quick find in an area we had not visited previously, checked in all the wrong places first TFTC.
A bit of a wallow through long grass and rubbish. Reasonable parking if going south. TFTC
Was pleasantly surprised to see that there were lots more new caches in the area than I thought - seven picked up today in Palliser Bay. Thanks for all the caches, skindo.
TuisReturn was spending a few days geocaching around the Wairarapa and I came over for a quick trip to Cape Palliser.
A good cache found on the trip.
Pretty windy in the area today.

Collected this one as we were staying not far away at Te Kopi Homestead. Lovely area. TFTC
We took off with the task of finding 100 caches in a day in the Wairarapa with the opportunity to test our skills on the solutions of some of Skindo's many great puzzle caches. We managed our target for the day after a great trip around and across the region. Many thanks Skindo for your challenging puzzles and the many placements you have made. TFTC
Found during an enjoyable stay at Palliser Bay for the weekend. Checked out quite a few pines before success, but in the end the GPS was spot on. Liked the use of a local icon for cover!
#4013. 3TF. A number of objects for potential hides. Found after a brief search. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Found on a day's drive to score some of the 17 new caches placed since l was last here. Found after a brief search, the GPSr was pointing me across the fence where there was a number of potential candidates. Signed log, TFTC
