Thanks for this one guys, nice little walk and a lovely spot also guys the look book is in a shabby condition, managed to sign it though lol
Found it easily. The log has seen better days and probably needs to be replaced. TFTC
With dot558 travelling towards cobden and had to use local toilet dump pointThanks for the cacheLog is becoming tatty
On a sneaky midweek getaway we managed to grab a few caches before we attempted part of the rail trail tomorrow, a quick find thanks for placing it
The log has previously been wet and jammed back in, it possibly needs replacing it comes out in screwed up pieces, great place tho TFTC
Mother and Daughter taking poppy (dad) on first Geocaching day. Great find thank you.
After the nearby Posums Party finished up, Jo from chooknchunk and I headed down and along the river walk then along the BSRT, both for the walk and to find a few caches.
Thanks McAdues for adding to our enjoyment by placing this cache.

We found this cache today on our Ballaratatattat Tour XVI in company of Backpaqer. It was 13.5 years since our last Ballarat tour together way back in 2009, so it was high time for another trip today. One that Backpaqer had already found but I snuck off after the event for a quick grab. Our 6th Smythesdale cache find. Thanks from D B-A
Found on a walk with micaparamedic after the nearby Posum Party event. Nice quick find, once we stopped checking out the obvious feature and opened our eyes, d'oh! TFTC McAdies & Geo_Eddie.
Ocw the Bebes. Should read the hint before poking around in the wrong place! Found it. Tftc

I always enjoy riding rail trails but as we don’t have time to do a ride on this visit I thought we’d walk a couple of RT caches.

Nice find along the rail trail. Log book is a bit tattered, I didnt unroll it all to sign as I thought it might fall apart. Looks like it could be full too.

Fourth full day in Ballarat and with the kids still asleep, we continued our holiday tradition of Huntress off on a long run, while I went off geocaching. This morning I was focusing on the Goldern Plains LGA. As such we drove to Smythesdale and while I started geocaching heading South, Huntress started her 20 kilometre run back to Ballarat.
Most caches found in good condition and pretty quick for myself who often takes forever to find a basic hide. Think the total for this morning was 19 finds with only 2 DNF, and that should take my Goldern Plains LGA to over 20.
First find of the dat at 7.55 am. Hoping this one lasts, or the locals know about it as their back gate was open and looks like they pass within a meter with their bikes.
Thanks for the cache McAdies

I headed down to Geelong early yesterday for the 2 events that were on in the area and after staying at Bunjil’s lookout at Maude last night it was then off to the 2 events near Ballarat today.
I left nice and early as I planned on finding a few caches before needing to be in Smythesdale by 9.30am for the first event.
I have not been along here before so it is nice travelling on roads and in areas that are new to me.
I left Meredith and there was just enough time to do these multi’s at the Clarendon Cemetery and a couple in Smythesdale before the Morning tea event.
I was told to check out the Smythesdale Gardens as it a great spot to camp for a couple of nights with great facilities.
Saw a cache close by on the BSRT trail and went for a quick walk.
Peoples back yards are nearly encroaching on this cache.
Soon added my name to the log and I was on my way.
Thanks McAdies & Geo_Eddie TFTC.

We found toilets at the local park with some interesting sculptures around the place and it was so close down the rail trail to this cache I just had to go and find it. It was a pleasant walk to GZ and a quick find.
On a camping road trip and Smythesdale Gardens was our first stop. After setting up we went for a wander around the immediate area and noticed this nearby cache. After a short search we checked the hint and Mr Pooky soon made the find. TFTC and bringing us to this section of the rail trail.
The last day of Xmas/New Year break so we decided to take out the treadlies and complete part of the BSRT - Smythesdale to Linton section.
A lovely day to spend outdoors and find some tupperware before we are stuck indoors and back to working from home.

With both kids at Scout Jamboree we had a holiday in Ballarat. I decided we should attempt a distance along the BSRT. We borrowed the kids bikes as they are so much better than our rickety bikes. We were starting to do every second one on the way north to break the journey on our return to the car. Heading north, nice easy find. Thanks for the cache
On our way to SA for Xmas so camped at Smythesdale Public Gardens free camp last night to put a few kms behind us. Up at the crack and while Zeus and the kids packed up I made this quick find. And got the Golden Plains LGA for a challenge I've been working on for years. Bonus!
Wow, just discovered the camping at the Gardens...definitely will be back with some friends! What a hidden gem... thank you Geocaching!
We were camping in the nearby Smythesdale Camping Ground, which is a wonderful camping area with a great camp kitchen, and clean toilets, and showers. We came up today to attend the event and CITO tomorrow. We had set up camp and had dinner and we decided to take the geodogs for a short walk before heading off to the land of Nod. It was a lovely evening and the setting sun was quite spectacular. We made a quick find of a cache in excellent condition. Thnk you for this cache McAdies & Geo Eddie.
Log is a mess. Has been wet at some stage and is falling apart. Needs replacing. TFTC
With the lockdown over and the Geotour event going ahead in Ballarat, our original plans to camp and visit were back on. The adventure for GT37, Papi4506 and OHC, now begins!
Grabbed this one near the campsite to get the tally rolling. A nice quick find and looking forward to doing more of this trail over the week.
Thanks McAdies for the cache.

Nice and quick, it needs some maintainence as the paper is a little stuck. Thanks
Good clue. Needed with the new construction nearby and not wanting to draw attention.
Log is rather wet and messy now. Might be worth a new one. Lovely area. This rail trail is so good. TFTC
Find #2369 for me. Found at 2:40 pm while visiting the area from Bendigo. This was a quick find for me today. Somehow I accidentally left my pen here but returned to collect it on my way home later in the afternoon (after realizing what I'd done at the next cache!). Thanks for the cache and others you've placed along the rail trail McAdies & Geo_Eddie!
Found the cache after a short break at the camping area for a drink and a snack.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Found on our house overnight bike hike from Ballarat to Smythesdale and back on this cold and windy weekend. tftc
Arriving in Smythesdale for a function earlier than expected I had some time to fill in so why not cache
Nice simple quick little cache

Tftc found on a nice sunny day. House across the road is playing nice music. Glad no one saw me walking around.
Heading to St. Arnaud for the mega event. Day 66 of our trip. Caching along the way. A total of 6 for the day and 1825 for the trip. TFTC
Finding smilies along this trail is taking far longer than I hoped, but it'll be a full line eventually! Just grabbing them when I can! TFTC
First non event cache of the day but not the last in the series for today.
The trail was a bit squelchy what with the rain Ballarat has experienced. I'm glad I did it today as I imagine a fair bit more rain will be falling in Ballarat and general area in the next few months.
On the other hand it wouldn't be any more and I'd say a lot less pleasant walking the trail in the middle of summer so if I had to choose I'd say winter was the season to walk the trail.
As for the cache, a fairly quick find once the right tree had been established.

I teamed up with LeeLee of Crack'n'LeeLee to work our way along a section of the Ballarat-Skipton Rail Trail covering 14.5km. The trail was in better than some of the dirt roads we ventured along. This is the first time I've dusted of the bike and used it as transport to cache, this will be the first of many trips I hope.
The weather was perfect for the ride with great company.
Log signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for the cache McAdies & Geo Eddie
