Finally figured this one out! With a break in the muggle traffic we were able to secure its location TFTC.
Awesome hide! Struck out with one just south of here but a bit of persistence paid off- very cleverMany thanks
#255. On my second try, with a little assistance from my brother, I finally stumbled upon it. Despite my deep affection for nighttime strolls and the exceptional camouflage of this hidden gem, locating it was no easy feat. Returning to this enchanting spot once more filled me with joy, reminiscent of the numerous visits I've made to nearby locales.. TFTC.
After checking in to our accommodation it was time to get a start on the Kiwi geo-art on this very wet afternoon. This was our second stop of the afternoon after initial success with the first find, the slog begins with what we can collect in a relatively short time. And the rain is steadily getting heavier. Thanks to all the COs involved in putting this geo-art series together.
Another day in the land of the long white cloud. TeamARF, JACSTeam and I headed south to Wellington. Lots of rainy caching but still some awesome caches and spectacular locations. Thanks to all COs!!
Day 6: We ( TeamARF, Gcoven and myself) have travelled over from Brisbane, Australia to have a visit since we were not able to make it to the Mega. We have spent some considerable time solving puzzles and making plans in preparation. We have a gigantic list of old, interesting, highly favourited, challenges and a few Geo-arts to try and collect over the next 10 days. There is a good chance we got lazy with our logging, or space saving depending on the log size and do some joint variation of our initials - TGJ, GJT or JGT.
Today the plan is to work on collecting things of our list - in particular a bunch of great challenges (will check qualifying once home), some massively favoured caches, desired challenge fillings for back home and making a start on the Kiwi Geo-art.
Please excuse the generic log, just have extremely little data to try and survive on it for the 10 days. However, you can be assured that if we have found your cache it was special to us for some reason or in a special location - so thank you for contributing to our holiday.
I will edit logs when back in Brisbane to add more details to those that need more details and of course I will be adding favourite points as I go along.

Stood around for A WHILE waiting for this spot to be clear enough to get the cache. Despite the hint still a challenging find. Tftc!
Took me a couple of goes to get numbers right for this puzzle…until I found the right source then easy from then on.
Found agmonst all the muggles. Gorgeous day here today TFTC

Solved this series (and mini series) ages ago. Out for an early morning mystery dot day today, in a chill breeze. Quick find, thanks XboomstickX/SAROC
Finally solved this one several weeks ago, decided to come for a drive as a break from work. Hunted through several hint objects before finding the right one. All good, tftc!
We began the Kiwi GeoTrail mission back in December of 2014! Yea I know good things take time but today we decided to get out there and make a bit of a dent in the puzzles we have completed but not yet logged.
14th and final cache of the day. A little bit more of a walk straight into the face of the storm and we soon had cache in hand. The coast certainly looks quite rugged in today’s less than perfect weather. Cache all in good order.

I needed this walk today! I love the care and precision of your caches. Thanks for being part of the series! TFTC
Today is a stunning day in Wellington and it's time to return and finish the Kiwi! I am close enough now that this trip will do it. Lovely walk along to GZ and straight forward find thanks to great hint. No sooner had I returned the cache and started walking the path was packed with cycles, dog walkers and runners. A popular place to enjoy being outside, luvin it. Thank you for the cache SAROC.
Despite having a good idea of what to look for, this one was still hard to spot. TFTC
I'm on a geocaching roadie from Whangarei to Dunedin. I've had lots of puzzles solved for such a long time so geoarts were the main target of the trip.
Now it's time to start writing the massive backlog of logs which is taking a while.
In Palmy area I wanted the shield series and the 20/20 geoart. Then Wairarapa was stickman (which we ran out of time for), the new M geoart and some archived skindo challenges. Wellington was finishing off the kiwi geoart. Nelson I had a few challenges I wanted before heading to Christchurch. It was family time there and perhaps the smile series but time ran out again. Off to Dunedin for the airplane geoart. Then it was time to fly home to say goodbye to my son heading to Denmark.
My friend Supernanny came along on the trip but today she spent with her family. I teamed up with 0B80B8 - a fellow team G0LD mate from Whangarei. Today I was finishing my kiwi geoart off. It was getting a bit colder as we walked to this one. A quick find by Pete, TFTC

Was down from Northland for a few days visiting daughter who has moved into a new flat in Porirua. The weather wasn't that flash on arrival day, but the following days were quite nice, so managed to get in a little caching.
The Kiwi Geotrail puzzles were nearby and I had made a point of solving them all in the last month, so they were the prime target today. As luck would have it, fellow Team G0LD member Lis was driving through Porirua today, on her way to the South Island and she still had a few Kiwis left to find, so we teamed up for a few hours, to see if we could knock the series off.
Getting late in the day now, but only a couple more to go. Lis managed to locate this one in a spot I had already checked, so sometimes it really pays to have two sets of eyes looking. TFTC

and I found this one earlier today after a bit of hunting around. Finally got this puzzle right after a wee bit of help from a fellow geocacher. TFTC. KTG
The fantastical KTG this one like a hawk. Before I had even taken my phone out my pocket to search for closer Google map directions I heard the usual..... "found it".... we did have to get a wee bit of help from a fellow cacher as our GPS working out put us across the road and highly confused. TFTC
Heading home after a few days in Wellington. Took the old route as it was a stunning day and I would hate to miss out on a swim. Mrs Rubbishparty failed to find this one which made me more determined to persevere till I found it. Glad I did and was rewarded with a lovely smiley. Cache and log all fine. Now off for that swim at Plimmerton beach TFTC
Second time back here after reaching out to a previous finder. I'd started almost in the right spot but then had gotten distracted over the other side to no avail. No matter though, back today with a little more intel for a quick search while it was nice and quiet. Added a new small piece of waterproof log paper, TFTC
Found with Flossie110. Not where I thought it was last time I was here! Log too wet to sign so have taken a photo.
Lots of potential hiding places, so I started looking but waves started coming over the rocks so I thought maybe it wasn’t a good idea to look today. The walk was good, weather seems to be clearing.
Got it today. A bit more reaching required! Itwas busy on the path today so I had to pause half a dozen times during my search and retrieval, but it wasn't unpleasant looking out over the bay in the late afternoon sun while I waited. TFTC.
No luck today - too well hidden for me. Looking at previous logs I think I know where I have to put in more effort. Perhaps when the path is less busy!
This series saved my sanity over lockdown - having noone else in the house and caching being banned I needed something to scratch that itch... Now the harder part actually going out and finding them
Nice easy find here. Have had these puzzles solved for a while but never seem to find the time to retrieve them.
The log is extreemly wet and needs replacing

Another enjoyable train puzzle and a lovely walk to the cache on a blue sky day. TFTC
#1092. It’s nearly 3 years since I started solving this series, and probably 2 since I searched for any. Now we are out of COVID lockdown restrictions, and with free public transport, it’s time to resume. Easy find, somewhat exposed. Log pretty damp. Put silicon desiccant in it to absorb the water. Hid a bit better than before.

I have lost my notebook! When I go on a geotrip I record my finds and notes in a notebook or, as in the case of this big circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki that Taybeedragon and I did over Christmas, in three notebooks. And I have lost notebook number 3 - 29th December onward. Luckily I enter the caches as found on the GPS (helps with avoiding backtracking) so I am using my GPS log to identify which caches I found/DNFed. Alas, however, no cache notes. So it is now March - and I am relying on memory. A fickle thing, memory. I suspect most will have no notes above. Sorry, folks. I mean, I can see the final on the map, and sometimes that sparks a memory, but mostly - no.
Many thanks for a great geoart. I have been saving this for when I can do the whole lot in one day.

Running around Pahatahanui Inlet today to capture a family of Kiwis roaming around here. Kiwi #17 welcome us. We left our calling card with him. Cheers
Thanks to The Seagnoid for his puzzle solving abilities.
Day 23 - Saturday, 4 January 2020. Wellington. It the Kiwi series at Paramata today thats been on The Seagnoids 'must do' list for some time. Then The Seagnoid ships out.
Sadly our 3 week holiday to Taranaki is over today. Seen heaps, done heaps. Loved it. The Kiwi series is our finale. Cheers

Being on a drive from CHC to AKL I thought about this series we started last year when at the mega but knew there would only be time for a few near one of the TMGT caches. Grabbed 3 of them this time - this being one of them.
Had a couple of muggles coming up and asking if I was geocaching. They knew someone who does it from the area but didn't recognise the name. Took a couple of minutes to grab the cache as I had to wait and then get down on the ground to reach far enough to grab it, TFTC.

I tried and failed to understand these clues 3 or 4 years ago when new to geocaching and soon gave up. Now my son MightyMicra has started we had a combined look at them and finally got over the hurdle. Cracked a dozen or so today! TFTC.
Today is the 14th day of our journey to the south island. I had planned to complete the Kiwi Geotrail before we head to Wellington to take the ferry to the south island. Having arrived near the Lake yesterday I was able to pick up seven of the series on our way to the campsite after visiting Rivendell and eating dinner in the Upper Hut area. We spent the night at the edge of the lake and after eating breakfast I started to collect the Kiwi Caches at around 9:30am.
I mannaged to find 55 caches today, 54 of which to complete the Kiwi. It took me a total of 10 1/2 hours to complete the trail at 8:00pm in a rather slow pace.
This was # 52 of 55 caches today. We are now down to the last 3 caches to complete this trail. A quickly solved puzzle a few weeks ago. Once at GZ it took a moment to spot the cache. Tftc.

Team GST (Gr33nslime, Stardust718, TwigNZ) got together again for another caching trip. This time with a focus on finding all the Porirua Kiwi GeoTrail. We had a lovely drive around the area over 8 hours in which I found 70 caches. The parking at times was quite tricky and crossing the busy road was even worse but we all ended the day mostly unharmed (except for a few scratches from gorse).
I started solving all the kiwi caches only 2 weeks before our trip. Fortunately most of them were quite straight forward and the information that was required was almost immediately obvious.
#67 of 70 today. Our final for the Kiwi series (excluding the 2 DNF's) today. A nice quick find here. Just a couple more caches on our list to find today then off home.

I was out and about today as part of Team GST (Gr33nslime, Stardust718, TwigNZ), working our way around the Pauatahanua Inlet finding all the Porirua Kiwi GeoTrail series of puzzle caches, plus a few selected others along the way.
This was to be our very last of the 61 cache Kiwi series we visited today, after almost 8 hours of caching, including the extra ones along the way. It was with a sense of relief that Stardust made the find here. all was fine with the cache etc, so with a quick signing and replacing of the logsheet we were finally done, excluding the 2 DNF's we encountered out of the 61.
Thanks for all the Puzzles, and the caches, and all the efforts by various people to keep this entertaining series going. A great way to help me celebrate 2 years of caching.

We were staying in Upper Hutt for the week over Easter break and hoped today was finally the day we finished off the Kiwi Geo Trail. Our first go was in Oct 2013 and we did roughly 1/3, we did some more in Oct 2016 and finally wanted to finish it today. This one was abit awkward to retrieve through the fence when your trying to be quick. Thanks to both the original owner and now the adoptive owner for the effort involved in placing and creating this series for all of us to enjoy.
Kiwi GeoTrail Tekau ma Whitu (Porirua) was transferred from CaligulaNZ to user SAROC
Lots of muggles to wait for, so wait I did. Eventually managed to grab and log but had to wait again to replace. Got some nice photos of the view, though.
A quick and easy find. Solved back in 2013 and today is the go get it day. A nice walk to GZ. Thanks
Today we are heading home so it is a slow trip to the airport from Plimmerton. We cached on the way and were in plenty of time to catch the big bird back to Christchurch. What a great MEGA weekend. Signed the cache logs as Ms+Mr KR.
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

Day 9 of my road trip for WENZ Mega. After a reduce mission I was in the right place to find much of this series. Most were solved some years ago.
After a DNF last week here, I'm back for others. Noticed that although there has been no needs maintenance log there have been finds, so gave it another go. Spotted the likely culprit, but extraction was an issue as I have a damaged shoulder. Perseverance paid off. Hmm ... New container, new log. Is this a throw down?
Thanks for the smilie XboomstickX and CaligulaNZ..

Today was the last official day of the Mega.
Plans were to collect as many puzzle caches that we had solved in the area plus anything else that came along.
Most of the puzzles were road side witch was extremely busy so parking in some cases were peoples driveways and balancing on road edges and some we didn't go for as they were to difficult to get to. Another day and we have to return.
Al in all a very successful day. SLTFTC

TFTC. Kiwi GeoTrail was oe of the targets for three keen MEGA attendees. KotukuSI and warfi were great companions and puzzle solvers in prep for this adventure.
We manged to complete the caches in a day (minus 2) and were truely warn out after our activities.
thanks to the original placer and the cachers who have taken over maintainence of the trail.

WENZ Mega Weekend is finally here... Our big focus for today will be to clear out the Kiwi Geo Art trail around the Pauatahanui Basin. We are expecting some challenges here - narrow roads and lots of muggles. With Gap (of Fap and Gap), NZFlossy, and McJandals...
Sunday: We were a little more relaxed today, since there were no pressures to be at certain places on time... After dinner and a couple of ales, it was back to the trail for some more punishment... We enjoyed solving each of the puzzles in this series. Each one provided just the right amount of challenge. What a great variety of authentic kiwiana puzzles...
We managed to find most of the Kiwis in their hides. Some were in a lot better condition than others, and we can imagine how challenging it might be to maintain some of them. We found the speed and flow of traffic, and tight parking made things difficult at times. We learnt to be resourceful and resilient as the day drew on. In all, thanks to each of the COs for your input into this series... Apologies for the cut and paste logs. TFTP and TFTC.

Out caching the GeoArt with warfi & purdiepurdie; past the middle of the day & collective enthusiasm was waning a bit...
We had solved these puzzles over the last little while in anticipation of the Mega, but I wouldn't generally recommend doing them all in 1 hit !
Close to the end here - at long last. Thanks for maintaining these caches, CaligulaNZ.

Attending the mega with TeamBOP. Great time to catch up with other cachers and visit Wellington lLots of fun and laughs while finding lots of great caches Thanks to all the COs for providing all the caches and the work that goes into them. Sorry for the generic logs will try to add to them once back home Thanks
Attending the Wellington MEGA, great to visit here from the sunny Bay of Plenty, these finds have been found with my team members, which include myself, NZ Flossy, Squirrel Nutcase, FapandGap, Philip Perry, TNXPRO and Davidson Clan (To save room on logs) We are having a blast and gathering lots of smileys along the way. Please excuse generic logs in advance. (as I have saved the template using Cachly) Many Thanks to all you cache owners for the placements. Cheers
Solved a while back, today is find day. Thanks again for the puzzle. Will one day be out here to do the entire loop.
First day of mega weekend, today was all about the ferry ride and a few targeted caches on our way gradually to Upper Hutt. A few in town, some in Ngaio, and some success in Porirua (but a few fails also) before making our way eventually, and slightly late, to the first event of the weekend. Fish and chips in the park. Been hanging out for that. A frustrating day in some respects, but in hindsight the rest of the weekend was a solid success. Thanks for the caches to all COs.

Secong piece of Kiwi for the day, my bird is taking shape nicely. Time for one more and then off to Upper Hutt for food.
The big day(s) has/have arrived. It's MEGA weekend in Wellington region and the culmination of lots of hard work by the organising committee. Also, not to be forgotten, are the caches of the local, and not so local COs, which help the game to continue and enable the enjoyment of others.
The trip has been planned for a while now and the Blenheim contingent of Ricardinho.nz and myself are coming over early on Friday morning on the Bluebridge ferry (after an early morning (non-) 'event') before returning on same mode of transport on Monday lunchtime.
We didn't manage much caching on the Friday but made up for that with 3 good days after and over 100 finds for the weekend to boost my Wellington region finds past my Nelson region ones and even giving my previously prolific Auckland numbers a 'nudge'.
Over the weekend there was plenty of socialising, sharing of ideas, opinions and interesting conversations and a podium spot for the Geosaders quiz team. Allied up with some new caching friends and remet several other rarely seen friends from other areas of the country. A good weekend all around and even the weather played nicely with a sunny outlook each of the days, without it being too warm and uncomfortable. Plenty of events attended, pleasant walks experienced, a couple of bike rides along the Hutt River as well as a smattering of GROET caches for which we were GLAD.
Thanks to all of the cache owners for their hides and listings and looking forward to the next time I visit the area to continue the enjoyment.

27th of the kiwi geoart puzzle day with gely57. After lunch we parked the car nearby and did some more walking to find these fantastic puzzles. We found a little bit away from the coords. TFTC.
Day one. Part one. I decided to take two extra days off work for WENZ weekend. My flight from Christchurch was in the morning. Bbear44 arrives in the evening. (Hence Part One).
My main aim is the Geo Art. I only have 15 left to find out of the 61.
Doing a few with Lis'screw, Thegreatauk and GraciesGPSFun. I met them while caching.
Sadly there is no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. I plan on going to the OzGeomuster in July. To find out more visit this site: https://www.ozgeomuster.com.au

Worked out the co-ords with Teahan Family and as we are both over for the MEGA event we tried to complete the series today. Some caches were found in very good condition (being looked after by SAROC) and some that are in need of attention with wet logs and rusty containers. Really enjoyed the series, thanks CO.
Like Nosynel, I didn't find anything at my coords.
Had hoped to get a couple here, but one has been moved since I solved a few years ago, so will check my solution and try again when back next weekend.
Update:10:36pm - geochecker still likes my coords, so picking the cache is missing

Great puzzle, nice spot to sign the log, waited for a couple of walkers and joggers to go past before returning cache
Find #157. I've been really enjoying the places which this GeoTrail has taken me to, I honestly didn't know about this beautiful area, and how easily accessible it is. Found with no problem at all, GPS was spot on. Found with Aros71. TFTC CaligulaNZ.
# 1038 The Planetary Challenge encouraged me to revisit this series of caches that I had solved about four years ago and hadn't yet got around to collecting, as I had left the area and was now back. I was happy that in four years only four had to be resolved, so that is a great effort for a big series like this!
With DangerSAM in the DangerPRAM and Jimmy NZ in tow, we went for a walk in a shower of rain on a Saturday afternoon. After crossing the railway tracks incorrectly and walking for a bit, we realised our mistake and had to double back and retrack on the other side. After waiting for runners and other randoms to pass by, I had a quick look around GZ and saw the innocuous signs of something out of place. Well hidden none the less and a nice little spot for a bit of reflection. Cache is in good condition!
Thanks to all CO and cachers who have contributed to this geo art and kept it going.

So Gr33nslime had been going on about this solar, universe challenge thing (?) for a few days and with the weekend approaching, we decided it was time to dust off the old geocaching shoes and go out on the hunt again. With master DangerSAM in tow we knew that we would have to be targeted at the caches we were going after and Gr33nslime was the one that inevitably came up with the answer. Tucked away in her geocaching tool box was her list of solved mystery caches. Turns out she had been really fastidious and solved a whole lot of the Kiwi GeoTrail series over in the Porirua Harbour area. This seemed like a good plan so we started looking for groupings of the mysteries and planned from there. Gr33nslime soon discovered however that some of the caches had moved and worse the puzzles changed! After a few hours though she had managed to correct enough of them that we could make a plan to hit them today. After parking up next to the Marine View boat ramp (with the ever watchful fisheries officers on watch) we bundled DangerSAM off into his DangerPram and set off up the coast. Dispite the rain we managed to hit a few of the caches. Really disappointing the first one we tried wasn’t there though. After getting a couple we drove back towards the valley with DangerSAM giving commentary on the way. A quick stop up a windy side street and Gr33nslime was off again, poking through bushes, mud and all sorts to get more caches. Felt very exposed in some of these locations, but points were needed so off we pushed. I have to hand it to Gr33nslime for her numerous finds today, I just seemed to be there to find one and give moral support. But at least we have gotten off planet earth on our little exploration.
Nice day for a walk to this one. Has not been found for a while. All good here. TFTC
I enjoyed the short walk to GZ. Its a very nice location. There were quite a few people out walking their dogs and enjoying the fresh air.
There was no-one around as I approached the cache so I was able to retrieve, log and replace without any delay.
The cache is in good condition. All nice and dry.
Thank you

#4366. I needed a few caches today to boost my August total for the 250 caches in a month challenge. So decided to head up to Porirua and tackle a few more of the Kiwi Geotrail. I only solved this one recently. I have been doing them in stages as they are a useful series for night-caching or when you need an easy cache on a wet winters day. Decided the final would be better visited in daylight than at night for this one. Quick and easy find of the cache. All good here. Replaced as found. Still got quite a few caches in this series to locate but at least all are now solved so on my radar for wrapping up in the month ahead. Thanks to XboomstickX for putting out the trail and thanks for the cache CaligulaNZ.
Out with NZ1 and NZREF on a wet morning. Good opportunity to get a few solved caches of the series found. Cache in good order. TNLNSL, TFTC.
Out today with Glad-nz and nzref picking up a few of the solved puzzle caches in the area. TFTC
I had a leave pass from 4 year old duties so headed out this way to complete some more of the GeoArt.
I think that we had a go at this hide once before without any luck.
Good to find the prize today.

A lovely morning for a wander along this walkway. It was good to see the sea so calm as we were going to Picton on the Interislander later in the day.
Found after attending WENZ 2018 - The Launch Party Event before heading home to Palmerston North. Thanks for the cache.
#2601 Making the most of a beautiful Wellington day and clearing up some of the Kiwi Geotrail with bijouxtoo. Quick find here. TFTC!
Quick find today after working out how to access GZ. Cache in good condition. Thanks for the puzzle and cache.
The trains are whizzing past and people are running along the walkway to the station. A busy little area. TFTC
Another one to tick off. Left Havelock North at 5am this morning picking up jordiporsche on the way. An overnight stay in welly to grab as many caches as we can including all the kiwi geo art puzzle's. Log signed as b&p.Tftc XboomstickX. Find # 3217
Lots of muggles around here on a sunny Saturday - and the worst kind of muggles - dog walkers. They walk really slowly and keep stopping when their dog sees/smells a shiney object or whatever. Luckily I found the cache immediately while just walking along (it wasn't exposed but the hide was telltale). I could sign the log nearby as the muggles ambled by but had to wait a while to return it. Nothing wrong with checking out the view while waiting though.
Solved the puzzle some time ago. Decided on a walk this morning to find a few caches. Quick find - tftc
Quick find by Papa Bear while walking along the walkway. Solved awhile ago good to log the smiliy. Tftc
No problems here, a quick find on a pleasant stroll.
Just managed to squeeze the find and return in between muggles also enjoying the nice day.
Had hoped to do some more on part of the trail but owing to a later commitment I couldn't spend much time out here today
TFTC.

Today we made a start on the Kiwi Geo Trail. A most enjoyable walk, unfortunately we did not complete the trail as the rain and southerly came in. We will return. Thanks for all the caches and keeping this trail going.
Day #3 geocaching in NZ/ and first day of two spent in Wellington + surroundings, in good company (=vipema, Veke68 & Katsukka = VVK-FIN in the logbooks, most of the time). Had a great time and found a lot of caches + saw so many interesting/beautiful places.
Thank you!!!!
Thank you!!!!
Long time dream came true and we could visit New Zealand. NZ Mega was our maingoal and we had time to find others too. We travelled together with Veke68 and Katsukka and had great time. We used VVK Fin (that is vipema, Veke68 and Katsukka) in mostly logbooks to save space.
Thanks for the cache.
Greetings from Finland.

Two days Wellington trip with Vipema and Katsukka. Many nice views and caches. We logged mostly only VVK-FIN to save space in the logbook.

I had solved these back in June 2013 and had signed off 12 of them in November 2013. I am now on my way south and have stopped off in the Ngatitoa Domain for a couple of nights before catching the ferry. So it is time to sign off a few more with this and a 18 others on a 8.3km return walk.
Cheers for the cache and series of puzzles.
Cheers for the cache and series of puzzles.
We had solved this fun series of puzzles back in 2013 in preparation for a trip south in September of that year. As it happened we chose to spend longer in the Wairapapa and never made it over the hill to Wellington. The following September (2014) we made a fleeting visit to Wellington, while staying at Turangi. We concentrated on picking up some other puzzles and ran out of time to tackle the geotrail. This September we are back and have made the Kiwi Trail our first port of call.
We decided to drive the trail clock-wise starting on the northern shore just after daybreak. The driver was not looking forward to finding parking spots at each cache, but as it turned out this was less of an issue than feared - thanks to good preparation by the navigator, and to starting the trail early on a weekend day. In all we found 58 of the 61 caches and had a great day. Thanks to those who have taken on this series to keep it alive.
Getting very cold and chilly this evening, so we are pleased that this is our 2nd to last cache of the trail today. A quick find at GZ.
